Lakers G Vander Blue logged a season-high 14 minutes vs. Milwaukee on Saturday.
The 25-year-old guard finished with just one rebound, one assist and one personal foul. He's not on the fantasy radar, of course, and his current two-way contract limits the amount of games he can play away from the G-League. Nov 12 - 12:05 AM

Vander Blue has agreed to a two-way contract with the Lakers.

He'll spend the majority of the season in the G-League, but he's allowed to spend up to 45 days with the Lakers in 2017-18. He's not on the fantasy radar in the vast majority of leagues, but could be called up for the first two games of the season with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope suspended.

The Lakers waived Vander Blue and Travis Wear.

It'll be interesting to see what the Lakers do in their first two games with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope suspended. They may have to slide Brandon Ingram over in the short term or bust out Josh Hart despite not getting much playing time this month. Jordan Clarkson will be busy regardless.

Lakers sign G Vander Blue.

The reigning G League MVP has earned his chance and had another solid summer league in 2017. Blue has been with the Lakers before and dedicated fantasy owners may remember his 48-minute outing in the 2014-15 season finale. Blue isn't a traditional point guard, but he could compete with Tyler Ennis for a backup role.
Aug 4 - 3:56 PM

According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, Vander Blue has agreed to a partially-guaranteed contract with the Lakers.

Blue was named the 2016-17 D-League MVP. He averaged 24.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and a team-high 1.6 steals in 47 games. He also played well for the Lakers summer league squad in Las Vegas, averaging 15.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per contest. Nonetheless, Blue will have a tough time making the roster and cracking the rotation in L.A. due the Lakers crowded backcourt, which features Lonzo Ball, Tyler Ennis, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jordan Clarkson and Josh Hart.
Jul 29 - 1:05 PM

Vander Blue scored 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting in Monday's 110-98 win over the Blazers.

This was no fluke either, as Blue was averaging 14.3 points and 1.3 triples per game prior to Monday. He added six assists, five rebounds and one 3-pointer to his line, showcasing why he was the D-League MVP in 2016-17. If the 25-year-old guard doesn't get an invite to the Lakers training camp, there's a good chance that another NBA team will pick him up.
Jul 18 - 12:06 AM

Vander Blue nearly triple-doubled in a start vs. the Kings on Wednesday, scoring 15 points with eight assists, seven boards, one steal and one 3-pointer in 48 minutes.

It wasn't all great for Blue, as he shot just 6-of-23 from the field (1-of-8 from deep) and turned the ball over four times. Still, it was a pretty decent game under the circumstances, but it is unclear if the Lakers have any intention of retaining his services. Blue likely won't make an impact in fantasy leagues next season.

Vander Blue will start next to Jabari Brown, Ryan Kelly, Jordan Hill and Tarik Black against the Kings on Wednesday.

With no Jordan Clarkson (ankle) tonight, the Lakers basically have just two guards on their team. That means we should see a ton of minutes from Blue and Brown. It actually wouldn't be a surprise to see them both play the entire game. Give them both a look in all leagues.

Lakers sign G Vander Blue.

He only played 15 minutes in the 2013-14 season and hasn't been in the league since. Blue played in Las Vegas Summer League back in July and played 49 games in the D-League this season. In those 49 games, he averaged 23.3 points, 5.4 boards, 5.3 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.5 treys. He'll likely just be an emergency guy.

Wizards waive G Vander Blue.

Blue was invited to camp on Sept. 24 and lasted a little over one week. The colorful guard will have a tough time joining an NBA roster this season.

Vander Blue has earned a training-camp invite from the Wizards.

The Wizards have 15 guaranteed contracts, including guys like Damion James and Glen Rice Jr., so Blue is very unlikely make the roster. He made a few cameos with Boston last season, but has spent the majority of his playing time in the D-League since going undrafted out of Marquette.

Vander Blue worked out at the Verizon Center on Monday in the hopes of earning an invite to Wizards' training camp.

Blue worked out alongside Jamaal Franklin as both players are hopeful of earning an invite to Washington's training camp. While the Wizards have some open camp spot, Blue only played three NBA games last season and doesn't hold any fantasy value.

Celtics will assign G Vander Blue to the Maine Red Claws.

Blue made three appearances with the Celtics, averaging 1.7 points in 5.0 minutes per game. With Avery Bradley and Jerryd Bayless both healthy, there's no longer room in the rotation.

Vander Blue played four minutes and scored two points in his Celtic debut on Wednesday.

Blue is primarily around to give the injury-plagued Celtics backcourt depth while Avery Bradley and Jerryd Bayless get healthy. "Vander is a tough kid," Coach Brad Stevens said. "He’s a guy that’s a competitor." The Celtics may like the depth and toughness that Blue brings, but he won't bring a lot of value to any fantasy rosters in the limited minutes he's likely to see.

Celtics sign SG Vander Blue.

He went undrafted out of Marquette but caught the Celtics' eye while averaging 19.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in the D-League. He doesn't have any fantasy appeal despite the Celtics' thin backcourt.
