Vinny Del Negro expected to interview with Kings next week.

This news will inspire eye rolls across the NBA landscape, but Del Negro will be given a shot to interview for the Kings vacant head coaching position next week. His prior work with the Clippers has been viewed through a more positive lens over the years, so there is a very realistic possibility that he could get the Kings gig.

Vinny Del Negro discussed the Pelicans coaching vacancy with general manager Dell Demps on Thursday.

The Pelicans may have the best coaching job on the market and they'll undoubtedly pursue Tom Thibodeau. Del Negro hasn't been in the coaching discussion since December when the Kings let go of Mike Malone and the Pelicans probably won't have him too high up on their list of candidates.

The Kings have reportedly reached out to Vinny Del Negro regarding their current head coaching vacancy.

This is an interesting development, and we'll give any updates as they become available. For now, Tyrone Corbin will run things under the interim label, and it'll be very interesting to see how the rotations develop in Sacramento with a new coach at the helm.

The Cavaliers interviewed head coach candidate Vinny Del Negro over the weekend.

Del Negro joins a list of candidates that includes Alvin Gentry, Lionel Hollins, Adrian Griffin and Tyronn Lue, and Cavs GM David Griffin reportedly has a "close personal relationship" with Del Negro. He had previously interviewed for the Wolves' head coach position, but beat writer Jerry Zgoda reported that it's "unlikely Del Negro will be hired."

Vinny Del Negro has emerged as a serious candidate for the Minnesota Timberwolves' head coaching vacancy, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

Del Negro had recently been linked to the Cleveland Cavaliers' vacancy, but has become a serious player for the Wolves' job, according to Stein. VDN has a 210-184 career record as a head coach and most recently coached the Los Angeles Clippers to a 56-26 record during the 2012-13 season. There are some conflicting reports about the level of interest Minnesota has in Del Negro. John Krawczynski of the Associated Press reports that although the two sides did meet "that's as far as it's gotten." Nothing is final until a contract is signed, but the fact that he was interviewed suggests there is mutual interest between the two sides.

The Cavs are expected to interview Vinny Del Negro for their head-coaching vacancy.

Del Negro was widely criticized before he and the Clippers parted ways, so he's probably going to have to wow the Cavs to win the job. The team is also interviewing Alvin Gentry and Adrian Griffin for the job, but it seems like it could be a while before they commit to anyone. Although, they may want a coach before the NBA Draft.

Vinny Del Negro will interview with the Nuggets this weekend for the their head coaching vacancy.

He will be Denver's third candidate to interview, following Lionel Hollins and Brian Shaw. On the surface, Del Negro doesn't really compare to Hollins and Shaw, so he would be a surprise to win this job. Even though Del Negro's Clippers had their best record ever, he still underachieved, especially with arguably the best point guard in the NBA.

A source told the Boston Herald that the Celtics would give Vinny Del Negro "serious consideration" for head coach if Doc Rivers leaves the team.

To put it lightly, that would be a massive downgrade. To go from Rivers to Del Negro would be an interesting transition, and one that would likely leave Celtics fans with memories that quickly turned into nightmares. Celtics GM Danny Ainge reportedly likes Del Negro and his "up-tempo philosophy," but it's worth noting Chris Paul said multiple times this season that he ran the offense on his own in Los Angeles where Del Negro was employed. One source told the Herald that Del Negro would be a "stopgap" if Rivers left. Celtics fans are likely hopeful they'll never have to find out if Del Negro would work in Boston or not.

Vinny Del Negro was extremely noncommittal in an interview with Dan Patrick on Tuesday.

VDN was asked if he thought Chris Paul wanted him out as coach and also whether he thought owner Donald Sterling would've preferred for Del Negro to return. His answers to both questions were mostly straight-forward, non-answers so neutral that it was clear Del Negro had opinions on both that he didn't want to say. There have been a lot of rumblings that Paul didn't want Del Negro to return and the Clippers' desire to re-sign the point guard forced the coach out the door. Whatever the truth is, Del Negro likely wants to coach in the NBA again and is smart enough not to throw Paul or the Clippers under the bus.

The Clippers have let the contract of head coach Vinny Del Negro expire, meaning he's no longer the coach of the team, according to Yahoo! Sports.

The details have yet to emerge, but there have been rumblings that Del Negro's days were numbered for some time. The latest rumor making waves is that Chris Paul and Dwight Howard will emerge in Atlanta together next season, but that's far from having any substance at this point. The Clippers failed to advance far enough in the playoffs for anyone's liking and "Paul coaches the Clippers" jokes were all the rage this season. Paul will likely have some say in who the next coach will be, while names like Byron Scott, Alvin Gentry, Mike Malone, Stan Van Gundy and Mike Budenholzer are already being listed as possible replacements for Del Negro.

Vinny Del Negro and Clippers owner Donald Sterling will meet this weekend, a league source told Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com.

Haynes reports a decision on Del Negro's status as Clippers coach should come shortly after the meeting. There had been conflicting reports over the past week ranging from an "inevitable" firing to a possible contract extension for Del Negro. What seems clear is Sterling is reportedly Del Negro's biggest backer in the organization and will definitely have final say on whether he returns after the Clippers' first-round exit. Either way, we should know something next week.

The Clippers have not ruled out bringing back Vinny Del Negro as head coach, sources told ESPN.

The previous report from ESPN cited Del Negro's firing as "inevitable," so this is a contradiction from that. Furthermore, sources told ESPN there is "a level of interest within the organization to extend Del Negro's contract," so it doesn't appear his firing truly inevitable as it was painted to be. The final call rests with owner Donald Sterling, known as "Del Negro's biggest backer in the organization," but no decision has been made yet. According to the report, at least one other team has shown interest in Del Negro as a head coach so far.

Vinny Del Negro's dismissal as Clippers head coach is "inevitable," NBA insiders told ESPN's Marc Stein.

Del Negro's contract expires in June, and while the team has said no decisions have been made, Del Negro's hot seat is getting warmer by the day. The team reportedly wants to go "big" with their next coaching hire, and it's possible Stan Van Gundy's candidacy comes to light in the coming weeks if and when Del Negro is shown the door.

The Clippers will reportedly "explore all options" as it relates to Vinny Del Negro's future as the team's head coach.

Del Negro is waiting to learn his fate and doesn't seem all that concerned, and while the team is expected to take a little while to decide which direction they'll go in, a first round playoff exit doesn't bode well for Del Negro's future. You can be sure the Clippers will get Chris Paul's opinion even before he potentially commits to re-signing with the team. Del Negro remains on the hot seat.
