Vitor Faverani could soon sign with Maccabi.

Faverani had an audition and there is now mutual interest between the two sides. The big man's days in the NBA are all but over before ever really getting started.

Vitor Faverani has received interest from Fenerbahce.

Avid basketball fans may remember the nine-block start in his first two games as an NBA player. Since then, it's gone south in a hurry for the 27-year-old forward. He might be done in the NBA.
Jun 17 - 3:02 PM

Vitor Faverani is set to have a tryout with both the Knicks and Timberwolves.

Faverani hasn't played in the NBA since the 2013-14 season, but is still just 27 years old. He averaged 4.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks in 37 games with the Celtics and won't be much of a factor in fantasy leagues even if he's able to hook on with the Knicks or Wolves.

Celtics release C Vitor Faverani.

It's seems like just yesterday when he exploded in the second game of his career last season, scoring 12 points with 18 boards and six blocks. Too many knee issues, an inability to learn offense and adapting to the concept of team defense hurt him here. Faverani might get picked up at some point.

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said Vitor Faverani (knee) could start practicing in early to mid-January.

This is a good news as Faverani had previously been without a timetable following two knee surgeries, but he won't be a fantasy factor upon his return so he can be safely left off watch lists.

Vitor Faverani (knee) remains without a timetable to return.

"He is getting a little bit better, which is good, and is increasing his workload, but not on the court yet," Brad Stevens said. "Nothing that would lead to having a timeline for a return." Faverani is looking at a lost season after two knee surgeries.

There is still no timetable for the return of Vitor Faverani (knee).

He was seen getting up some shots on Saturday, but it doesn't seem like he will be returning to practice anytime soon according to coach Brad Stevens. This news confirms that Faverani can be left on the waiver wire in almost all leagues.

Brad Stevens has no idea when Vitor Faverani (knee) might return.

Faverani has missed the last nine months and counting. His most recent knee surgery was supposed to sideline him six-to-eight weeks, but he hasn't returned to practice. Boston won't rush him back into action and it wouldn't be surprising if he can't debut until after 2015 begins. He's not relevant in fantasy leagues.

Celtics' head coach Brad Stevens said that Vitor Faverani (knee) may be back by the beginning of January, but would not commit to an official date.

Faverani's return date remains a mystery, but once is able to finally suit up he'll likely be eased back into the rotation. He's currently buried on the depth chart behind Jared Sullinger, Kelly Olynyk, Brandon Bass, and Tyler Zeller, and given his limited upside and uncertain return date, he’s not worth owning in almost any league.

Vitor Faverani (knee surgery) still has no timetable for his return.

He hasn't played basketball since tearing his meniscus in February, so even medical clearance to play will be followed by a lengthy training process. "This is my first injury," Faverani said. "I’m just happy because we have great doctors, great therapy guys ... All I can do is recover. We’ll just wait on my knee."

Vitor Faverani (knee) has only been doing work on a bike and in the pool.

He did say he's 100 percent, but actions speak louder than words... or something. Faverani is not close to returning and he could wind up in the D-League anyway.
Sat, Nov 22, 2014 04:38:00 PM

Vitor Faverani is listed as out for Wednesday's game.

He is out indefinitely and there has been no indication as to when we will see him again. When he does return, he will likely ride the pine and will have almost no fantasy value this season. Feel confident in leaving him on the waiver wire.

Brad Stevens said he has "zero idea" when Vitor Faverani (knee) might return.

We're marking him out indefinitely at this point until there is a positive update. "No increased activity," Stevens said. "I don't know. They have not given him any specific timeline." Now rehabbing from a second knee surgery after the firs caused lingering pain and swelling, Faverani is looking at a lost season.

He continues to remain sidelined as he tries to recover from knee surgery and there is still no concrete timetable on his return, though it's possible he could be back by the end of November. However, Faverani won't be in the rotation right away and should be left on the waiver wire in almost all leagues.
