Celtics center Vitor Faverani was arrested for drunk driving in Spain in early August, after reportedly running a red light and colliding with a bus.
His blood-alcohol limit was three times the legal limit and he'll likely face a suspension from the NBA to begin the season. Faverani is still rehabbing from left knee surgery but he hopes to be healthy in time for training camp, where he'll try to carve out a role in the rotation as a backup center. Aug 17 - 5:54 PM

Vitor Faverani (knee) hopes to return to Boston with his surgically-repaired left knee 90 percent healthy.

Faverani showed flashes during his rookie season with Boston, including a 12-point, 18-rebound, six-block outburst, but he struggled with consistency. Faverani is an intriguing fantasy play with the high-upside in blocks, but we'll need to see more from him before putting him into the standard league conversation.

Vitor Faverani (knee) is still rehabbing from his surgery back in March.

"I got injured because I trained there too [much] and, as I have no limits, I [got] hurt. [I] went a little silly, but it was my first year and I wanted to show a lot with my work," Faverani said in a translated version. He was all the rage to start the season with eye-popping block totals, but his numerous deficiencies eventually caused him to be phased out. He has a decent chance to make the team with Kris Humphries in Washington, but is not worthy of a pick in standard leagues yet.

Vitor Faverani had arthroscopic knee surgery and will miss the rest of this season.

There has been talk of Faverani getting surgery for almost a month now and he finally opted to go through with it. The surgery was to repair a torn lateral meniscus and he should be ready to go for next season. Faverani is a candidate to play in Orlando Summer League and this surgery shouldn't affect his status in a few months.

Vitor Faverani may need knee surgery.

Faverani went for a second opinion on his knee and got the bad news. He's likely done for the season. Faverani wouldn't have played ahead of Jared Sullinger, Kris Humphries or Brandon Bass anyway.
Feb 28 - 12:12 PM

Vitor Faverani (knee) will not play on Wednesday night.

His knee injury has kept him out all month, which is too bad because his team could have used him tonight. Faverani has no fantasy value right now.
Feb 26 - 6:08 PM

Vitor Faverani's knee injury will prevent him from traveling with the Celtics on their West Coast road trip.

That rules him out at least four games. An MRI came back negative but Faverani has no return date, and even when he's healthy he may not be a part of the Celtics' rotation.
Feb 18 - 2:56 PM

Vitor Faverani (knee) will not play against the Mavericks on Sunday.

He was down in the D-League earlier this month, which was where he sustained the injury. Faverani is still a a little lost on the offensive end and might need some more seasoning with the Maine Red Claws.
Feb 9 - 4:30 PM

An MRI came back negative on Vitor Faverani's knee and he is listed as day-to-day.

The Celtics moved him down to the D-League to help him get into the flow of the game a little bit better and he doesn't have fantasy value after a head-turning start to the year. Faverani likely needs an injury to be back on the radar.
Feb 7 - 5:58 PM

Vitor Faverani injured his knee while playing in the D-League on Tuesday, and he'll have the knee tested on Thursday.

He has been recalled by the Celtics and an MRI is likely coming, as Faverani said it's difficult just to move his knee. He hasn't been part of Boston's rotation and his availability won't be a factor in fantasy leagues.
Feb 5 - 11:09 AM

The Celtics recalled Vitor Faverani from the Maine Red Claws on Sunday.

With Kris Humphries, Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk all ahead of him in the rotation, Faverani has no fantasy appeal and can safely be left on the wire.

Feb 2 - 10:37 AM

The Celtics assigned Vitor Faverani to the Maine Red Claws on Friday.

He's only really been called upon in garbage time and when his teammates are in foul trouble. Faverani started out hot to start the season and immediately fizzled out. He has no fantasy value.
Jan 31 - 3:09 PM

The Celtics recalled rookie C Vitor Faverani from the D-League on Sunday.

Faverani's trip to Maine was designed to let him play in one game -- he had 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, one block and six personal fouls in 26 minutes on Saturday, helping the Red Claws defeat the visiting Mad Ants. Faverani has no fantasy appeal with Kris Humphries, Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk ahead of him in the rotation.

Jan 26 - 11:39 AM

The Celtics assigned rookie C Vitor Faverani to the D-League on Saturday.

He'll play one game in Maine for the Red Claws before rejoining the Celtics on Sunday. It makes sense for Faverani to get extra playing time since he's fallen out of the frontcourt rotation behind Kris Humphries, Jared Sullinger and fellow rookie Kelly Olynyk.
Jan 25 - 3:56 PM

Vitor Faverani only played 14 minutes off the Celtics' bench in Saturday's defeat, scoring 11 points with five rebounds and one block to his credit.

He made 4-of-6 shots, including one 3-pointer, but this isn't the line owners were hoping for with Kelly Olynyk (ankle) out of the lineup. Faverani played only 14 minutes vs. Dwight Howard and the Rockets last week, when frontcourt size would presumably be at a premium, and Brad Stevens obviously isn't sold on the rookie's ability to help the Celtics in heavy minutes this year.
