Dewayne Dedmon left Saturday's game with a lower jaw injury, but has since returned to the game after receiving stitches.
He appears to be fine and we will let you know if he suffers any setbacks. Dedmon has been playing decent minutes while Nikola Vucevic (back) has been out, but shouldn't be considered in all but the deepest of leagues unless Vucevic winds up missing more time. Dec 6 - 11:36 PM

Dewayne Dedmon (foot) logged eight minutes off the bench on Tuesday, posting three points, three rebounds and one block in a loss vs. the Pelicans.

The Magic frontcourt is thinner than usual with Channing Frye (MCL) out of commission, which gives Dedmon a few extra minutes to play around with. As tonight's boxscore shows, however, he's not on the radar for fantasy purposes.
Oct 28 - 10:41 PM

Dewayne Dedmon (foot) practiced on Sunday and is ready to play on Tuesday.

Dedmon's foot injury was not considered serious, and he'll function as depth for Orlando at the center position this year.
Oct 27 - 11:23 AM

Dewayne Dedmon started at center against the Wolves on Saturday, putting up two points and six blocks in 14 minutes.

The Magic seem to have had it with Andrew Nicholson in the starting lineup, so they gave Dedmon a shot. He's a decent shot blocker, but having almost zero offensive game makes him too risky of a pickup in almost any format. By the way, Nicholson did not score in 20 minutes off the bench.
Apr 5 - 9:57 PM

The Magic will sign C Dewayne Dedmon for the remainder of the season.

He's as raw as they come and didn't play organized basketball until his senior year in high school, but Orlando has little to lose by gambling on a young, athletic center. In 18 appearances this season, Dedmon has averaged 2.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.5 blocks in just nine minutes per game.
Mar 17 - 2:51 PM

The Orlando Magic have signed Dewayne Dedmon to a second 10-day contract.

Dedmon's first 10-day deal wouldn't have expired until Thursday night, but the Magic wasted no time in re-upping the 7-footer. Dedmon has only played three total minutes with the Magic, however, so his fantasy value is just about rock bottom.
Mar 4 - 1:31 PM

Magic sign C Dewayne Dedmon.

Orlando will be the third NBA city that Dedmon has called home this season and his latest signing will come on yet another 10-day deal. The seven-footer hasn't done much in his stints with Golden State and Philadelphia this year, but he could see enough minutes in Orlando to improve upon his 2013-14 averages of 3.4 points, 4.5 boards, and 0.8 blocks. Owners in standard leagues don't need to run to their waiver wires based on this news, but Dedmon should provide some value in deep leagues.
Feb 25 - 10:08 AM

Dewayne Dedmon is expected to sign a 10-day deal with the Magic on Monday.

The Magic are expected to also bring on Adonis Thomas, but they still have room on their roster to give Dedmon a shot. After putting up eye-popping stats in the D-League, Dedmon didn't do much with averages of 3.4 points, 4.5 boards and 0.8 blocks in 13.6 minutes with the Sixers in 11 games. As far as his fantasy outlook goes, it would have worked much better had he come to a deal with the Sixers. He can be left on the wire in all leagues.
Feb 21 - 4:02 PM

The 76ers opted not to re-sign big man Dewayne Dedmon, who had been signed for frontcourt help out of the D-League.

The Sixers would have had to sign him for the rest of the season. It's possible Dedmon will be picked up by another team but he's not a fantasy option with averages of 2.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 15 appearances this season.
Feb 3 - 11:23 AM

Sixers signed C Dewayne Dedmon to a second 10-day contract.

Dedmon, a 7-foot undrafted rookie out of USC, has filled Brandon Davies' (finger) role nicely. He's averaging 3.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.0 blocks over his last five games as a backup center.
Jan 24 - 11:23 AM

Dewayne Dedmon's 10-day contract expires on Thursday.

While Dedmon's contract may be up, the news of Brandon Davies' injury that will keep him out four-to-six weeks all but assures Dedmon of another 10-day deal. "I like what we've seen in him," coach Brett Brown said. "There's a size, obviously, but there's an enthusiasm and an energy. We'll make the official decision [today] but I'm thrilled with what he's done so far." Dedmon is averaging 14.8 minutes, 5.8 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, and 3.6 points per game in his five appearances for the Sixers. His fantasy value is obviously a tad limited in standard leagues, but he makes for an interesting play in deeper leagues.
Jan 23 - 9:40 AM

Dewayne Dedmon is making an impact with the 76ers.

Dedmon has impressed the Sixers thus far on his current 10-day contract and has been solid in backing up Spencer Hawes. "How can you not be excited about him?" coach Brett Brown said. "He's a 7-footer who gets up and down the floor. He plays with tenacity." Dedmon's averages of 3.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in four games with the Sixers don't scream value, but he's worth a flier in deeper leagues as long as his contract is picked up.
Jan 21 - 11:15 AM

Dewayne Dedmon went for eight and seven with a block in Saturday's game against the Bulls.

Dedmon logged 17 minutes and he probably needs something to happen to Spencer Hawes in order to truly have value, but he should be on the fantasy radar given the Sixers' jackpot system. In deeper leagues owners can consider a speculative add.
Jan 18 - 10:50 PM

Dewayne Dedmon was the first big man off the bench on Friday vs. Miami, finishing with seven points, seven boards and one block in 21 minutes.

He scored his first field goals as an NBA player tonight and looked somewhat comfortable out there. Dedmon sets up shop deep in the paint on offense and he was able to pull down three offensive boards tonight. He's on the radar in deep leagues.
Jan 17 - 10:30 PM

Dewayne Dedmon went scoreless in his Sixers debut Wednesday night.

Dedmon played 14 minutes and was at least able to register seven rebounds. It was interesting to see the newly-signed Dedmon play more minutes than Brandon Davies, so it's very possible he may win the backup job behind Spencer Hawes. Dedmon isn't worth a pickup in standard leagues, but he could be an interesting snag in deeper leagues going forward.
