Dewayne Dedmon scored eight points on 4-of-6 shooting while adding 14 rebounds and a blocked shot in 20 minutes against the Cavaliers on Monday.
Dedmon held his own against Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson, cleaning the glass 10 times on the defensive end. Despite the solid performance, he is still only worth using in deeper fantasy leagues since he is in a timeshare with Pau Gasol. Gasol is still your best bet for fantasy production out of the duo. Dewayne Dedmon scored two points with five rebounds and one steal in 21 minutes vs. the Wolves on Tuesday.

He was back in the starting lineup at the expense of Davis Bertans, but he was benched at halftime for Pau Gasol. Dedmon was averaging 16.9 minutes per game in March prior to Tuesday, so he's not getting enough playing time to help fantasy owners outside of deeper formats.
Mar 22 - 12:39 AM

Dewayne Dedmon is starting vs. the Wolves on Tuesday.

He came off the bench against the Kings on Sunday, so the Spurs may continue to mix up their lineup depending on the matchups. His minutes will be pretty low regardless of where he starts the game, especially with Pau Gasol healthy.
Mar 21 - 9:29 PM

Dewayne Dedmon came off the bench to begin Sunday's home game, but he started the second half and finished with six points and four boards in 12 minutes.

Davis Bertans started over Dedmon but that experiment didn't go well, as the Spurs fell into an early 12-0 hole vs. the Kings. It was business as usual after halftime, so anyone relying on Dedmon in deep leagues can continue to do so with confidence. Most owners can leave him on the wire, though.
Mar 19 - 10:01 PM

Dewayne Dedmon will shift to the bench on Sunday, with Davis Bertans taking his spot in the starting lineup.

The Spurs have lost two straight and coach Gregg Popovich is mixing it up tonight. He's been a negligible fantasy option with LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol healthy, and the demotion certainly doesn't help.
Mar 19 - 7:05 PM

Dewayne Dedmon scored nine points with seven rebounds and two blocks in 22 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.

His role shouldn't change too much with coach Gregg Popovich comfortable playing Dedmon in the 18-22 minute range most nights. He does have a higher floor now with LaMarcus Aldridge (heart) out indefinitely, so he's worth a look if you're looking to bolster your blocks.
Mar 12 - 1:00 AM

Dewayne Dedmon played just nine minutes vs. the Rockets on Monday, finishing with zero points and four rebounds.

If you were still holding onto Dedmon before this dud, it's time to let him go. It sounds like he will stick in the starting five, but he hasn't played more than 20 minutes in five straight games. He's a low-end big to own in deeper formats while Pau Gasol is healthy.
Mar 6 - 11:58 PM

Dewayne Dedmon had four points, two rebounds and one turnover in 16 minutes vs. the Pacers on Wednesday.

Gregg Popovich strongly hinted that Dedmon will be the Spurs' permanent starting center. "It just fits ... It gives us the best chance to win basketball games," Pop said. Spurs writer Paul Garcia notes that with Dedmon in the starting five, that unit posts an incredible net rating of +18.9 points per 100 possessions, so it's hard to argue with Pop's logic. Even as a starter, though, he's just a low-end boards, blocks and FG percentage guy while Pau is healthy.
Mar 2 - 1:43 AM

Dewayne Dedmon will remain in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Lakers.

Pau Gasol is healthy again, but Gregg Popovich is working him back into things slowly by bringing him off the bench. Tony Paker, Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge will join Dedmon in the starting five for today's game.

Dewayne Dedmon scored four points with 12 rebounds, three assists, one steal and four blocks against the Clippers on Friday night.

He's not dead yet. Coach Gregg Popovich loves to use Dedmon as a situational big man, especially against formidable 4-5 combos like the Clippers have. Even with Pau Gasol back, Dedmon figures to get the most run of the bigs not named Gasol or LaMarcus Aldridge. He could still be a sneaky block specialist, but there will be a handful of bad games due to the matchup-based minutes from night to night.
Feb 25 - 3:35 AM

Dewayne Dedmon racked up 10 points and 11 rebounds during Wednesday's 107-79 win in Orlando, making 5-of-6 shots with one assist and one block in 29 minutes.

Pau Gasol (hand) is targeting a return immediately after the All-Star break, which is unfortunate for Dedmon and his opportunistic fantasy owners. His numbers are up across the board in a dozen fill-in starts this season, but the inevitable dip in minutes makes him easy to ditch for a hot FA.
Feb 15 - 9:41 PM

Dewayne Dedmon had six points, 12 rebounds and zero blocks in 28 minutes in another start at center on Monday.

Dedmon is far from a must-own player, but is holding his own without Pau Gasol (broken hand), averaging 7.6 points, 11.8 rebounds and 0.8 blocks over his last five games. If he was more of a shot blocker he'd be a more popular fantasy pickup, but with Pau Gasol due back sooner than later, Dedmon should be on a short fantasy leash right now. If you're desperate at center he's certainly worth a look, but keep in mind that Gasol should be back right after the All-Star break.
Feb 13 - 9:59 PM

Dewayne Dedmon followed up Friday's huge game with three points, seven boards, two steals and one block in 24 minutes vs. the Knicks on Sunday.

Dedmon piled up 17 points and 17 boards vs. Detroit on Friday and he was coming off two straight double-doubles. His current role is enough for low-end value, since Pau Gasol (hand) has been ruled out until the All-Star break, but Dedmon's post-break outlook isn't great with Pau threatening his minutes.
Feb 12 - 6:48 PM

Dewayne Dedmon pulled down a career-high 17 boards against the Pistons on Friday, adding a season-high 17 points with one steal and two blocks in 32 minutes.

Those 17 points are just one off his career high from March 2016. Dedmon was also able to shut down Andre Drummond on the other end, and he's clearly earned the role of defensive stopper for coach Gregg Popovich. Pau Gasol (hand) is getting closer and looks like a good bet to be ready for the first game after the break at worst, so the fantasy value on Dedmon may be running out soon.
Feb 10 - 10:55 PM

Dewayne Dedmon double-doubled on Wednesday with 10 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and one block in 26 minutes.

Dedmon is a prototypical low-end center, offering just enough rebounds and blocks, with high FG percentages, to carve out some value. Just remember that Pau Gasol (hand) will likely return soon after the All-Star break, at which point Dedmon will head back to the waiver wire.
