Dewayne Dedmon's contract with the Hawks includes a $900k bonus if he plays in at least 41 games and he averages more than 16 combined points, rebounds and assists.
Dedmon is projected to start at center for Atlanta next season and, assuming he stays healthy, should have a decent chance at reaching those numbers. Dedmon averaged a combined 12.2 points, rebounds, and assists last season in San Antonio while averaging 17.5 minutes per contest. If he is productive as a starter, he'll likely play more than 20 minutes a night. Sep 16 - 12:21 PM

The Hawks announced the signings of Dewayne Dedmon and Ersan Ilyasova.

According to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Dedmon and Mike Muscala "figure to get the bulk of the minutes at center in 2017-18." Dedmon said he's excited about coach Mike Budenholzer and added that he's feeling confident because the system is similar to San Antonio's. He averaged 5.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 17.5 minutes per game last season, and should see a nice boost in fantasy value with a larger role on his new team.

Dewayne Dedmon has agreed to a deal with the Atlanta Hawks according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

Sam Amick of USA Today adds that the deal is expected to be for two years and $14 million with a player option on the second season. Atlanta desperately needed frontcourt depth, so this is a good landing spot for Dedmon and he should be considered the favorite to start on opening night. The 27-year-old big man averaged 5.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 17.5 minutes per game last season, so he should be relevant in standard fantasy leagues with an expanded role.
Jul 11 - 9:31 PM

The Hawks have expressed interest in center Dewayne Dedmon, according to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders.

Dedmon appeared in 76 games, including 37 starts, for the Spurs last season and averaged 5.1 points (on 62.2 percent shooting) and 6.5 rebounds in 17.5 minutes. After losing Paul Millsap via free agency and trading away Dwight Howard, the Hawks have limited depth up front. Landing in Atlanta would significantly increase Dedmon's fantasy value.

If the Warriors can't bring Andre Iguodala back, there's discussion about Dewayne Dedmon as a possible solution as the starting center.

The Warriors may have to use their full mid-level exception, which may be a little more than they want to for the former Spur. Dedmon declined his player option with the Spurs and undoubtedly showed he can make more than the $3 million he turned down. He'll have a tough decision on his hands to figure out if he wants to go to a contender or to a team that can offer him more money.
Jun 30 - 2:33 PM

Dewayne Dedmon will decline his player option for next season and become an unrestricted free agent.

It was an easy decision for Dedmon, who would have made only $3 million during 2017-18 season if he chose to opt into the final year of his deal. He'll sign for far more than that this summer. There aren't many attractive free-agent centers on the market, so Dedmon will draw plenty of interest. He averaged a career-high 5.1 points (on 62.2 percent shooting) and 6.5 boards in 17.5 minutes last season. He was also solid defensively for San Antonio.

May 30 - 1:04 PM

Dewayne Dedmon (illness) returned from a one-game absence in Game 5 vs. the Grizzlies on Tuesday, scoring one point with three boards in two minutes off the bench.

Dedmon has played well in his limited role all season, but this series doesn't suit him. He will likely have a larger role in Round 2 if the Spurs can take care of business against Memphis, but he's not worth deploying in fantasy leagues until further notice. Expect David Lee to make his third straight start in Game 6.
Apr 26 - 12:05 AM

Dewayne Dedmon (illness) said that he is fully recovered and will be available to play in Game 5 vs. Memphis on Tuesday.

Dedmon missed Game 4 on Saturday due to a stomach bug but was able to practice on Monday. "I’m feeling a lot better, I can tell you that," Dedmon said. Dedmon started each of the first three games of this series but averaged only 12.7 minutes per contest. David Lee will likely get bumped back to the bench with Dedmon returning for Game 5.
Apr 25 - 11:25 AM

Dewayne Dedmon (illness) is not being listed on the injury report for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Grizzlies.

Dedmon sat out Saturday's Game 4 loss with a minor illness, but ever indication is that he'll be back in action on Tuesday night. David Lee might not play as much with Dedmon back in the fold.
Apr 24 - 4:27 PM

Dewayne Dedmon (illness) was able to go through practice on Monday.

After missing Game 4 vs. the Grizzlies on Saturday, Dedmon has had a few days off to recover and is expected to play in Game 5 on Tuesday. He was only playing 12.7 minutes per game in the first three games of the series, so there aren't many fantasy implications. David Lee logged 33 minutes in a start in Game 4, but his role could take a hit with Dedmon expected back.
Apr 24 - 1:51 PM

Dewayne Dedmon (illness) will not play against the Grizzlies in Game 4 on Saturday.

Dedmon has been starting and played 12.7 minutes per game in this series, so it's not the toughest hole to fill. The Spurs will likely divide those minutes to Pau Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge and David Lee. Davis Bertans could also be an option as the last man in the rotation, or maybe they go with more Kyle Anderson.
Apr 22 - 5:23 PM

Dewayne Dedmon double-doubled in 18 minutes vs. the Mavericks on Friday with 10 points, 13 rebounds, one assist and one block.

He finished 5-of-10 from the field and did all of his damage in just 18 minutes. The Spurs rested seven players including Pau Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard, and with the No. 2 seed in the West locked up, Dedmon will likely see a bump in value in the final three games of the season.
Apr 7 - 11:28 PM

Dewayne Dedmon will start Friday vs. the Mavs.

With Kawhi Leonard (rest), LaMarcus Aldridge (rest), Pau Gasol (rest), Manu Ginobili (quad), Danny Green (quad) all out, Dedmon and the rest of the Spurs playing on Friday should see a big bump in usage rate.
Apr 7 - 7:20 PM

Dewayne Dedmon scored eight points on 4-of-6 shooting while adding 14 rebounds and a blocked shot in 20 minutes against the Cavaliers on Monday.

Dedmon held his own against Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson, cleaning the glass 10 times on the defensive end. Despite the solid performance, he is still only worth using in deeper fantasy leagues since he is in a timeshare with Pau Gasol. Gasol is still your best bet for fantasy production out of the duo.
Mar 27 - 11:54 PM

Dewayne Dedmon scored two points with five rebounds and one steal in 21 minutes vs. the Wolves on Tuesday.

He was back in the starting lineup at the expense of Davis Bertans, but he was benched at halftime for Pau Gasol. Dedmon was averaging 16.9 minutes per game in March prior to Tuesday, so he's not getting enough playing time to help fantasy owners outside of deeper formats.
