Dewayne Dedmon helped the Hawks earn a franchise-high 46-point victory on Wednesday, posting 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting, 14 rebounds, five assists, two steals, two blocks and one 3-pointer.
Dedmon had a double-double and a full line by halftime, and he racked up these numbers in a mere 24 minutes tonight. His preseason 3-point shooting has proven to be sustainable, happily, and he's now averaging 0.6 triples on 45.0 percent shooting from deep. Even if this was Dedmon's high-water mark for the season, there's no reason he can't maintain top-100 roto value. Nov 15 - 10:12 PM

Dewayne Dedmon scored 13 points with nine rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 22 minutes against the Pistons on Friday.

He was in foul trouble early to explain the low playing time here. Dedmon was still able to do some damage in the light run and he's locked in as the center for the foreseeable future. He should be owned in standard leagues.
Nov 10 - 9:26 PM

Dewayne Dedmon scored a career-high 19 points in Monday's 110-107 loss to Boston, adding 12 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a 3-pointer in 36 minutes.

Mike Muscala (ankle) and Ersan Ilyasova (knee) were both out and John Collins had five fouls in 16 minutes, so Dedmon eclipsed the 30-minute mark for the third time this season. Dedmon hasn't been lighting it up as the starting center in Atlanta and was averaging 8.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 23.8 minutes prior to Monday, but he does have excellent shooting percentages and is worth owning as long as he holds onto the starting job.
Nov 6 - 10:39 PM

Dewayne Dedmon scored seven points on 3-of-5 shooting Sunday, to go with seven rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes.

Apparently, Dedmon is yet another 7-footer who will be joining the 3-point bomber club this season, as he’s knocked down at least one three in two of his first three games of the year. While he doesn’t offer the highest upside, Dedmon will be worth owning as long as he’s starting in Atlanta for his ability to bring some blocks and triples to the box score.
Oct 22 - 6:58 PM

Dewayne Dedmon scored nine points with seven rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 26 minutes against the Mavs on Wednesday.

That's pretty much right at expectations for Dedmon. He won't be scoring much, he should fall between 5-10 boards most nights, and he'll be able to add multiple blocks in a handful of games. That kind of output in blocks makes him worth owning in standard leagues.
Oct 19 - 1:38 AM

Dewayne Dedmon was impressive throughout Wednesday's exhibition, making 6-of-7 shots to finish with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and one block in just 20 minutes.

Dedmon enters the season as the starting center on a roster without much frontcourt depth, and he's ideally poised to beat his late-round ADP. Look no further if you need a dose of high FG percentage, rebounds and blocks in the late rounds. It's also worth noting that Dedmon continues to shoot 3-pointers this preseason, and he even made one of his two attempts tonight.
Oct 4 - 9:31 PM

Dewayne Dedmon struggled with fouls in his Hawks debut on Sunday, scoring 12 points with three boards, two steals, one block and five fouls in 15 minutes.

Foul trouble aside, the Hawks' new big man was solid defensively and he went 5-of-7 from the field. He even took two 3-pointers tonight, missing both, which doubles his NBA career total for attempts.
Oct 1 - 8:52 PM

Dewayne Dedmon's contract with the Hawks includes a $900k bonus if he plays in at least 41 games and he averages more than 16 combined points, rebounds and assists.

Dedmon is projected to start at center for Atlanta next season and, assuming he stays healthy, should have a decent chance at reaching those numbers. Dedmon averaged a combined 12.2 points, rebounds, and assists last season in San Antonio while averaging 17.5 minutes per contest. If he is productive as a starter, he'll likely play more than 20 minutes a night.
Sep 16 - 12:21 PM

The Hawks announced the signings of Dewayne Dedmon and Ersan Ilyasova.

According to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Dedmon and Mike Muscala "figure to get the bulk of the minutes at center in 2017-18." Dedmon said he's excited about coach Mike Budenholzer and added that he's feeling confident because the system is similar to San Antonio's. He averaged 5.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 17.5 minutes per game last season, and should see a nice boost in fantasy value with a larger role on his new team.
Jul 23 - 9:25 AM

Dewayne Dedmon has agreed to a deal with the Atlanta Hawks according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

Sam Amick of USA Today adds that the deal is expected to be for two years and $14 million with a player option on the second season. Atlanta desperately needed frontcourt depth, so this is a good landing spot for Dedmon and he should be considered the favorite to start on opening night. The 27-year-old big man averaged 5.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 17.5 minutes per game last season, so he should be relevant in standard fantasy leagues with an expanded role.
Jul 11 - 9:31 PM

The Hawks have expressed interest in center Dewayne Dedmon, according to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders.

Dedmon appeared in 76 games, including 37 starts, for the Spurs last season and averaged 5.1 points (on 62.2 percent shooting) and 6.5 rebounds in 17.5 minutes. After losing Paul Millsap via free agency and trading away Dwight Howard, the Hawks have limited depth up front. Landing in Atlanta would significantly increase Dedmon's fantasy value.
Jul 11 - 10:02 AM

If the Warriors can't bring Andre Iguodala back, there's discussion about Dewayne Dedmon as a possible solution as the starting center.

The Warriors may have to use their full mid-level exception, which may be a little more than they want to for the former Spur. Dedmon declined his player option with the Spurs and undoubtedly showed he can make more than the $3 million he turned down. He'll have a tough decision on his hands to figure out if he wants to go to a contender or to a team that can offer him more money.
Jun 30 - 2:33 PM

Dewayne Dedmon will decline his player option for next season and become an unrestricted free agent.

It was an easy decision for Dedmon, who would have made only $3 million during 2017-18 season if he chose to opt into the final year of his deal. He'll sign for far more than that this summer. There aren't many attractive free-agent centers on the market, so Dedmon will draw plenty of interest. He averaged a career-high 5.1 points (on 62.2 percent shooting) and 6.5 boards in 17.5 minutes last season. He was also solid defensively for San Antonio.
May 30 - 1:04 PM

Dewayne Dedmon (illness) returned from a one-game absence in Game 5 vs. the Grizzlies on Tuesday, scoring one point with three boards in two minutes off the bench.

Dedmon has played well in his limited role all season, but this series doesn't suit him. He will likely have a larger role in Round 2 if the Spurs can take care of business against Memphis, but he's not worth deploying in fantasy leagues until further notice. Expect David Lee to make his third straight start in Game 6.
Apr 26 - 12:05 AM

Dewayne Dedmon (illness) said that he is fully recovered and will be available to play in Game 5 vs. Memphis on Tuesday.

Dedmon missed Game 4 on Saturday due to a stomach bug but was able to practice on Monday. "I’m feeling a lot better, I can tell you that," Dedmon said. Dedmon started each of the first three games of this series but averaged only 12.7 minutes per contest. David Lee will likely get bumped back to the bench with Dedmon returning for Game 5.
