Troy Daniels played just 16 seconds in his debut with the Hornets on Sunday.
It's hard to impress anyone with just 16 seconds left in the game, so hopefully the sharpshooter gets a better chance to prove himself in the future. Besides, he has to be more effective than Lance Stephenson, right? Feb 22 - 10:52 PM

Troy Daniels is starting to show his worth in Minnesota, and he has recently drawn praise from coach Flip Saunders.

"He is going to have opportunities," coach Saunders said after Friday’s practice. "He brings something that we lack, perimeter shooting, the ability to stretch the floor a little bit." Daniels is going to be someone worth monitoring in deeper leagues for his ability to knock down 3-pointers, but until his role grows he can be left on the wire in most formats. Daniels scored 11 points in 13 minutes during Thursday's game so the upside is definitely there.

Troy Daniels could be in line for an increase in minutes this week.

After scoring 14 points in five minutes on Saturday, Flip Saunders said, "He shoots the basketball, I probably should have found a way to put him in sooner." Daniels is a guy who can rack up threes in a hurry, but that's about all he brings to the table for fantasy owners. Unless he's getting sustainable minutes and a real role, he's going to be more miss than hit.

Troy Daniels scored 14 points with four 3-pointers on 5-of-6 from the field in nine minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.

He scored all 14 of those points in the last five minutes of the game. Daniels isn't entrenched in the rotation yet, but coach Flip Saunders says it could be coming. Although, that could be moot with Kevin Martin (wrist) getting closer.

Wolves guard Troy Daniels didn't leave the bench until the final five minutes of Tuesday's loss in Cleveland.

Daniels hopes to be unleashed as a perimeter scorer in Minnesota, but for now Flip Saunders is content to bench him in favor of guys like Zach LaVine, Mo Williams and Chase Budinger. Daniels should eventually emerge with a reserve role, but he'll be too limited for use outside of the deepest leagues.

Troy Daniels said he is hoping to " get the green light" from the Wolves to shoot.

"I’m a shooter, so I have to do what I do, what got me here. Shoot the ball," Daniels said. "There will be a lot more threes. I can tell you that." The Wolves are dead last in triples, so they could use a guy like Daniels. Of course, he didn't score in his debut on Sunday, so he's only worth a look in very deep leagues. Coach Flip Saunders also mentioned Daniels won't get much playing time early on.

Troy Daniels was scoreless in his very brief debut for the Timberwolves on Monday.

Daniels made a splash with the Rockets in last year's playoffs but he's had a hard time earning minutes this season, so a trade to Minnesota can only be a good thing. The Wolves' backcourt is banged up enough that Daniels is worth a look in very deep leagues, especially if you're hunting 3-pointers, but he's best-suited to the waiver wire in all other circumstances.

Troy Daniels has been traded to the Wolves.

He was lighting it up int he D-League last year and also has a game-winning shot in the NBA playoffs last season, but Daniels isn't quite a lock for minutes once the team is at full strength. However, with Ricky Rubio (ankle) and Kevin Martin (wrist) out, he could get some run. Of course, he's only worth a look in extremely deep leagues.

Troy Daniels didn't leave Houston's bench on Tuesday until the Rockets had built an insurmountable 25-point lead in the fourth quarter.

He was on pace for a DNP-CD before the Rockets turned it into a blowout, and it appears that Jason Terry will usurp Daniels' role as a designated sharp-shooter off the bench. He never had appeal in standard fantasy leagues and tonight's inactivity seals his fate in deep leagues.

Troy Daniels attempted 13 shots from beyond the arc on Wednesday, making four of them for 14 points with five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 34 minutes.

He had one of the best scoring seasons in the D-League from deep and he might be in the mix for minutes to start the year. Unless you're really desperate for treys, Daniels is not worth owning in most leagues.
Wed, Oct 22, 2014 09:38:00 PM

Troy Daniels played 28 minutes and hit 4-of-11 shots (all 3-pointers) for 12 points, three rebounds and two steals on Tuesday.

Harden was out and Daniels looked good, but he's still nothing more than a role player for the Rockets right now.
Wed, Oct 15, 2014 12:38:00 AM

Troy Daniels scored 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting (including three treys) with four rebounds and two steals in 24 minutes off the bench on Monday.

Daniels is getting a reputation for being one of the better shooters in the league but he'll have an uphill battle for minutes playing behind James Harden, among others. Just keep an eye on him if injuries strike in Houston.

The Rockets intend to keep Troy Daniels.

They are expected to make him a qualifying offer today to officially make him a restricted free agent. Daniels shot the lights out in the D-League with 5.0 triples per game and he hit a game-winning trey in the playoffs vs. the Blazers. He'll have a little more competition for minutes this year.

Troy Daniels hit a game-winning 3-pointer to beat the Blazers 121-116 in overtime on Friday, finishing with nine points, three rebounds, one steal and three 3-pointers.

Chandler Parsons fouled out in overtime and it led to the Rockets going with a tiny unit of Patrick Beverley, Jeremy Lin, James Harden, Dwight Howard and Daniels down the stretch. Daniels got free for a look on the wing to give the Rockets the lead for good. He set a D-league record for treys in a season with 240 and this was just his sixth NBA game. He played 20 minutes tonight and has a good shot to stay in the teens the rest of the way.

Troy Daniels got a start for the Rockets on Wednesday and had a career-high 22 points, five assists and six 3-pointers in a loss to the Pelicans.

Don't feel bad if you've never heard of him, as they signed him in February and called him up from the D-League last week. Patrick Beverley had 14 points and two 3-pointers, Dwight Howard hit just 1-of-5 shots for seven points, four boards and three blocks, Terrence Jones added 17 points and eight rebounds, Donatas Motiejunas had 11 points and 10 boards in 17 minutes, and Jordan Hamilton had 14 points and four 3-pointers in the meaningless loss. The Rockets will face the Blazers in Round 1 of the playoffs.
