Troy Daniels (left hamstring) did not practice on Friday.
He's been out for all of camp and also dealt with a shoulder injury at Summer League. The Hornets could really use some shooting after they ranked dead last in 3-point percentage last year, but Daniels still isn't close to being on the fantasy radar Oct 2 - 2:12 PM

Troy Daniels (hamstring) was still out of Hornets practice on Monday.

Despite the injury still being an issue, it's not something that's expected to linger for much longer. We'll see a number of minor injuries like this pop up in the coming days as guys get acclimated to being back at work.
Sep 28 - 1:12 PM

Troy Daniels was limited at practice on Sunday due to a hamstring strain.

There is no word on the severity of the injury, but he should be fine with a little bit of rest. Daniels was solid during the summer league and the Hornets could use his 3-point shooting, but his fantasy outlook took a hit when the Hornets acquired Jeremy Lin and Jeremy Lamb. Daniels is only on the radar in very deep leagues.
Sep 27 - 12:38 PM

Troy Daniels (right shoulder) is playing on Friday.

He missed Wednesday due to some soreness in his shooting shoulder. Daniels was very effective from deep in his 11 games with the Hornets last season, making 47.2 percent of his 36 attempts. Still, he's not a good bet for minutes off the bat next season.
Jul 10 - 4:21 PM

Troy Daniels (strained right shoulder) will not play in Wednesday's Summer League game vs. the Magic.

Daniels has been en fuego over the past few games, but the Hornets will give him some rest today, and he is being listed as day-to-day. P.J. Hairston is also dealing with a shoulder issue, but was seen going through warmups, so he could jump into a larger role on Wednesday with undrafted G Aaron Harrison also primed for some more floor time.

Hornets associate head coach Patrick Ewing said that Troy Daniels will never be a featured player on an NBA team, so he needs to do the little things to earn playing time.

"He’s not going to be a featured player on our team or any other team," said Ewing. "So he has to do all the little things: Continue to shoot the ball well, pass the ball when he sees people open and continue to play defense. He needs to continue to build his body up." Daniels has been lighting it up at Summer League, scoring 37 points in the past two games, but he’s not going to be getting quite as many offensive opportunities once the regular-season begins playing in Charlotte’s crowded backcourt. He could, however, emerge as a 3-point specialist in deep leagues.
Jul 8 - 10:33 AM

Troy Daniels went off during Tuesday's Summer League game vs. the Nets, scoring 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting to go with 14 rebounds, two assists, four 3-pointers and two turnovers over 30 minutes of action.

Daniels looked great today, but he's not going to get anywhere near 30 minutes per game during the regular-season. He could however earn himself a sixth man role with the Hornets, as he does provide Charlotte with some much-needed 3-point shooting, although he still won’t be much more than a 3-point specialist in deep leagues.
Jul 7 - 5:14 PM

Troy Daniels came out firing on Sunday with a game-high 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including a 6-of-9 mark from downtown.

The Hornets guard added six boards, one assist and one steal in 28 minutes, a nice bounce-back effort after shooting 4-of-12 on Saturday. He'll earn a guaranteed $947k to provide some backcourt depth and 3-point shooting for Charlotte next season.
Jul 5 - 5:03 PM

The Hornets would like Troy Daniels to become a more well-rounded player.

"I’d like to see a total all-around game," Clifford said of Daniels. "He can really shoot and he’s learned how to find space to get his shots off. He’s worked really hard this summer at playing off the second dribble. Now I want to see it all; him knowing the defense, all of what we’re doing. He’ll get plenty of opportunities [in Orlando] in pick-and-rolls and catch-and-shoot." Daniels will be fighting for playing time with the likes of Nicolas Batum, P.J. Hairston and Jeremy Lamb, so it'll be difficult for him to earn enough minutes to be a difference maker in fantasy hoops. He won't be worth drafting in standard leagues.
Jul 3 - 10:50 AM

Free agent G Troy Daniels will join the Hornets' Summer League team in Orlando.

Daniels will make a guaranteed $947k next season. Mo Williams' probable departure in free agency bodes well for Daniels, but he'll still need to show substantial improvement to earn more than a handful of minutes for coach Steve Clifford.
Jun 30 - 8:37 PM

Troy Daniels scored a career-high 24 points against the Raptors on Wednesday, adding two rebounds, one assist and six 3-pointers.

Besides his huge shot in the playoffs last year, this is probably Daniels' best NBA moment. The Hornets gave him some minutes this month to show what he can do and they desperately need a 3-point shooter heading into next season, so maybe they give him a chance for minutes. He's not going to be worth drafting in almost any league for now.
Apr 15 - 9:46 PM

Troy Daniels scored 15 points during a 100-90 loss to the Rockets on Monday with one rebound, two assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers.

The Hornets are keeping Mo Williams out of the lineup, so Daniels has basically become the sixth man. He's potentially a big-time 3-point shooter with how he buried threes in the D-League last season, so he's worth a look in deep leagues for those hopeful to add three-plus treys off the wire in the finale.
Apr 13 - 11:50 PM

Hornets' G Troy Daniels played 28 minutes off the bench on Sunday, finishing with two points on 1-of-9 shooting, three rebounds, two assists and one steal.

He was coming off a 15-point performance in 20 minutes on Friday and P.J. Hairston (knee) is doubtful for Monday, so it looks like Daniels will be a staple of the second unit as the Hornets wrap up their season. He's a 38.3 percent shooter but is at least worth a look if you need a cheap source of 3-pointers.
Apr 12 - 6:22 PM

Troy Daniels scored 15 points in 20 minutes on Friday, hitting 5-of-10 shots (including three treys) with one rebound and one steal.

Daniels fits the description of a late-season scrub that goes off, but owners are really taking a chance relying on him after just one good game.
Apr 10 - 10:56 PM

Troy Daniels played just 16 seconds in his debut with the Hornets on Sunday.

It's hard to impress anyone with just 16 seconds left in the game, so hopefully the sharpshooter gets a better chance to prove himself in the future. Besides, he has to be more effective than Lance Stephenson, right?
