The Suns acquired Troy Daniels and a 2018 second-round pick from Memphis for a top-55 protected in pick 2018.
The Grizzlies have some decent depth at guard with Wayne Selden playing well and Tyreke Evans in the mix. Daniels was one of coach David Fizdale's guys and his quote saying he had a "money green" light to shoot was a cool story last year. Daniels likely won't be in the rotation to start the season. Troy Daniels left Sunday's game briefly due to a left knee injury, but he returned and finished with eight points in 14 minutes.

Daniels logged 30-plus minutes in three straight games from March 31-April 4, averaging 17.0 points per game. Since then, he has mustered just 16 total points over the past three outings. He is only worth a roster spot in the deepest of fantasy leagues, as his playing time and production has been rather sporadic.
Apr 9 - 10:11 PM

Troy Daniels tied for the team lead with 20 points on Sunday, making 7-of-13 shots with six 3-pointers, three assists, two boards and one steal in 31 minutes off the bench.

Daniels' scoring wasn't quite enough to help his team beat the Lakers in L.A. He was coming off a game with 21 points, all coming on 3-pointers, and should continue to see elevated minutes with Memphis resting veterans now that they've secured a playoff spot. He's worth a look if you need points and triples, but don't expect much else.
Apr 2 - 6:21 PM

Troy Daniels made seven 3-pointers for his 21 points against the Mavs on Friday, adding three rebounds, two assists and one turnover in 34 minutes.

It was money green time for the Daniels in the second unit with Daniels' 12 attempts from deep accounting for all the non-starting Grizzlies tries from beyond the arc. He hasn't shot the ball well this month at just 30.7 percent from the field in his previous March games, so there's no need to overreact to this stat line. If the Grizzlies do rest guys, he'll be an option.
Apr 1 - 1:06 AM

Troy Daniels scored 12 points on four 3-pointers in 24 minutes vs. the Pelicans on Tuesday.

Wayne Selden got the start in place of Tony Allen (knee), but Daniels looks like the better short-term pickup in very deep leagues. Daniels added two rebounds and two assists, and considering he was averaging 2.0 triples in 16.8 minutes per game prior to Tuesday, he's the definition of a 3-point specialist. With that said, the Grizzlies only play two more times this week and it's not clear if Allen will miss more time.
Mar 21 - 11:28 PM

Coach David Fizdale said Troy Daniels will stay in the rotation.

"At least I know now that I’m not trying to squeeze in Troy Daniels," Fizdale said. While he has seen minutes in the upper teens lately, Daniels is ice cold with his 27.3 percent from the field and only 1.8 treys in his last five. He will likely be more involved when the Grizzlies are trailing in games because Fizdale trusts him with a high volume of treys more than anyone else on his roster. He's still only a specialist in deep leagues.
Mar 16 - 3:57 PM

Troy Daniels played 15 minutes with 13 points, two assists, three steals and four 3-pointers against the Pacers on Friday.

The Grizzlies needed some late scoring, so they turned to their Money Green guy to try and close the gap with triples. It didn't work with the Grizzlies losing by 10 points. Daniels is not a lock to play against the Nuggets on Sunday, but he should see double-digit minutes.
Feb 24 - 9:28 PM

Troy Daniels was ejected in the fourth quarter on Wednesday.

He made a three with the foul and talked trash to Devin Booker, which did not sit well with the other Suns. Daniels was shoving Tyler Ulis, but he's not likely looking at a suspension. Daniels had a good game today with 14 points, three rebounds, one steal and four 3-pointers in 22 minutes.
Feb 8 - 10:48 PM

Troy Daniels (knee) returned to action on Saturday vs. the Jazz and scored six points on 2-of-4 shooting.

He was averaging 6.8 points and 2.0 triples in 15.1 minutes per game in his previous eight January games, but got a slight bump with Chandler Parsons resting tonight. He logged 19 minutes and hit two 3-pointers with nothing else. Unless you need 3-pointers in a very deep league, you should be able to find a better option on the wire.
Jan 29 - 12:47 AM

Updating a previous report, Troy Daniels will now play on Saturday vs. the Jazz.

He was listed as out, so this is a surprise. Even with Chandler Parsons resting, Daniels probably won't see a heavy workload unless he has the hot hand off the bench. He averaged 6.8 points and 2.0 triples in 15.1 minutes per game in his previous eight January games.
Jan 28 - 8:31 PM

Troy Daniels (knee) will not play against the Jazz on Saturday.

The Grizzlies are going to be a little short on the wing and maybe that's why they called up Wade Baldwin. Douglas sure can shoot it, but he doesn't need to be stashed in almost any league.
Jan 28 - 7:47 PM

Troy Daniels (knee) is questionable to play against the Jazz on Saturday.

With Chandler Parsons (rest) out, the Grizzlies could use Daniels in this game, especially if they're trailing. He's still not someone worth adding right now.
Jan 28 - 5:50 PM

Troy Daniels (knee) will not play Friday against the Blazers.

Daniels has only seen limited minutes off the Memphis bench for most of this month, so his absence has very minimal fantasy impact.
Jan 27 - 6:53 PM

Troy Daniels (knee) is a game-time decision for Friday's game against the Blazers.

Minimal fantasy impact here, as Daniels is on the fringe of the Grizzlies rotation even when fully healthy. He has played more than nine minutes only once over the last there weeks.
Jan 27 - 2:08 PM

Troy Daniels (knee) is questionable for Friday against the Blazers.

He does like playing against the Blazers with a 2014 game-winning shot and another clutch shot earlier this season on his resume. Daniels isn't a lock for minutes, especially if he's not 100 percent.
