Troy Daniels played with his finger taped up on Wednesday, hitting 1-of-6 shots for two points in 11 minutes.
He had some intrigue when Devin Booker was out, but with Elfrid Payton and Devin Booker now healthy, Daniels is a fantasy afterthought. Feb 15 - 4:51 AM

Date:

Troy Daniels (finger) said he will play Wednesday vs. Utah.

Daniels will have his finger taped on his shooting hand, which will likely impact his shot. However, Daniels is not a fantasy asset even when fully healthy, so he should be left on waivers.
Feb 14 - 1:54 PM

Troy Daniels (finger) is questionable for Wednesday's game vs. Utah.

Daniels is shooting 27.9 percent from the field in his past five games, scoring 7.8 points with 1.6 rebounds, 0.6 assists and zero defensive stats. He's not a fantasy asset even if he's cleared to play.
Feb 13 - 3:57 PM

Troy Daniels finished with just six points over 29 minutes in Saturday's 123-113 loss against the visiting Nuggets.

Daniels connected on just 2-of-9 from the field, including 2-of-8 from behind the 3-point line, while turning it over twice. It wasn't the best of nights for Daniels as a member of the starting five. Even if he continues to start he is only worth fantasy consideration in the deepest of leagues at this point.
Feb 11 - 1:07 AM

Troy Daniels will start against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Wow. He'll join Elfrid Payton, Josh Jackson, T.J. Warren and Dragan Bender with Marquese Chriss on the bench. Daniels can't be trusted in most leagues.
Feb 10 - 8:59 PM

Troy Daniels (back) made his third straight start on Monday vs. the Grizzlies, scoring nine points in 23 minutes.

Daniels hit 2-of-8 from the field (both 3-pointers) with one rebound, one steal and one block. We now have a decent sample size to work with, and it's clear that he's strictly a 3-point specialist for deep-league owners right now -- he's averaging 7.6 points, 1.0 rebounds and 2.0 triples in his last three starts.
Jan 29 - 11:03 PM

Troy Daniels (back) and Alex Len (ankle) will play vs. the Grizzlies on Monday.

Daniels has made two starts in a row, but hasn't done much with 14 total points. However, Devin Booker (ribs) is out tonight, so there are a lot more shots up for grabs. If you need 3-pointers, Daniels could be your guy.
Jan 29 - 6:56 PM

Troy Daniels (back) and Alex Len (ankle) are questionable to play on Monday in Memphis.

Daniels just didn't look right on Sunday, going just 1-of-4 from the field, so Phoenix may want to be cautious with him for the second leg of the back-to-back. If he sits, it would either be Josh Jackson or Isaiah Canaan entering the starting five, while Len's absence would result in more minutes for Greg Monroe and Dragan Bender.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: Not only would Tyson Chandler’s absence be good news for Greg Monroe, but it would also benefit Marc Gasol in a big way. Monroe ranks 257th in DRPMout of 478 players, while Tyson Chandler ranks 36th, ahead of guys like Nikola Jokic and Jimmy Butler.
Jan 29 - 2:36 PM

Troy Daniels didn't do much through 16 minutes as a starter on Sunday, scoring three points on 1-of-4 shooting to go with one 3-pointer, two rebounds and nothing else.

Foul trouble was an issue, but Daniels also appeared to be bothered by his back, which would help explain the lame shooting. The Suns have a quick turnaround with another game in Memphis on Monday, so it wouldn't be all that surprising to see him take the night off for the 17-33 Suns if the back is indeed an issue. The Suns won't have a shootaround on Monday with it being the second game of a back-to-back, so owners probably won't get another update until just prior to tip-off.
Jan 28 - 6:45 PM

Troy Daniels made his first start this season with 11 points, one assist and three 3-pointers in 23 minutes against the Knicks on Friday.

The Suns are grasping any answer they can find in their backcourt. After the game, coach Jay Triano mentioned he didn't like how that first unit played today, but chalked it up to defense. Daniels is worth a look if you need 3-pointers, but Darius Miller may be the hotter add tonight.
Jan 27 - 1:37 AM

Troy Daniels will start alongside Devin Booker on Friday vs. the Knicks.

Devin Booker will slide to point guard, so if this move sticks then Daniels would certainly have a lot of appeal as a 3-point specialist. He's been on fire over his last five games, averaging 14.2 points, 1.2 rebounds and 4.2 triples in that span.
Jan 26 - 7:21 PM

Troy Daniels scored 19 points with one assist, one steal and five 3-pointers in 27 minutes against the Pacers on Wednesday.

The Suns playing from behind usually helps Daniels and that was the case again here. The more coach Jay Triano runs Devin Booker at the point, the more it should help Daniels get consistent playing time. He's been in the teens for scoring in four of is last five, averaging 14.2 points, 1.2 boards, 0.4 steals and 4.2 treys in that stretch. Daniels is a specialist in deeper leagues.
Jan 24 - 9:36 PM

Troy Daniels scored 18 points vs. the Blazers on Tuesday, hitting 6-of-13 shots in 32 minutes.

He had 11 3-point attempts and connected on six of them, adding one rebound and one steal. Josh Jackson had four fouls which limited him to 23 minutes and T.J. Warren (foot) missed another game, so Daniels stepped up when coach Jay Triano called his name. The Suns only have one more game this week and it's not until Friday, so there's no reason to pick up Daniels in most leagues.
Jan 17 - 12:39 AM

Troy Daniels scored 10 points with two rebounds, three assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes against the Spurs on Friday.

He had to play more in this game because of both T.J. Warren (illness) and Isaiah Canaan (groin) not playing today. Daniels picked a bad day to make just 1-of-6 from the field, but the Suns may have no choice to play him more on Sunday if Canaan can't suit up.
Jan 5 - 11:16 PM

Troy Daniels made six 3-pointers to score 18 points on Saturday, but the Suns still fell 115-106 to the visiting Wolves.

Daniels added one assist in 30 minutes, missed both of his shots inside the arc, didn't get to the free throw line, and failed to record any rebounds, steals or blocks. His role could soon take a hit with Devin Booker (groin) nearing a return, and even with minutes in the mid-20s he's simply a 3-point specialist. Plan accordingly.
