P.J. Hairston said that he's shed roughly 13 pounds this offseason.
Hairston struggled to get into the rotation during his rookie season, averaging just 5.6 points and 1.1 three-pointers through 45 games on 32.3 percent shooting from the field. He'll have to fight for his reserve minutes with the likes Jeremy Lamb and Troy Daniels this year, so his fantasy outlook isn't looking great. There's no reason to consider drafting Hairston in standard leagues. Sep 26 - 10:24 AM

P.J. Hairston (shoulder) was spotted going through warmups on Wednesday.

Hariston hurt his shoulder during Tuesday's game, and is being listed as day-to-day, but there's a chance he gives it a go today with Troy Daniels (shoulder) set to miss Wednesday's contest.
Jul 8 - 1:06 PM

For the third consecutive offseason, P.J. Hairston is again in trouble with the law.

Hairston was cited around midnight on June 18 for driving with a revoked license, speeding, driving left of center and driving on expired tags. Hairston's court case has been set for July 27, and a spokesman for the Hornets said the team is still in the information gathering stage. Hairston has been pretty horrible through Summer League thus far, and his new legal troubles will likely send him even further down the depth chart. We'll be watching to see if he receives any additional punishment from the league.
Jul 8 - 12:25 PM

X-rays on P.J. Hairston's left shoulder were negative and he's listed as day-to-day with a contusion.

We don't expect to see him in uniform on Wednesday, but at least it's not a long-term injury. Hairston shot 32.3 percent as a rookie and is nowhere near being a standard-league fantasy asset.
Jul 7 - 9:14 PM

P.J. Hairston left Tuesday's Summer League game vs. the Nets after sustaining a left shoulder contusion, and he will not return.

Hairston appeared to be in a decent amount of pain, so it wouldn't be surprising if he missed Wednesday's Summer League game vs. the Magic. He took his fair share of bad shots before exiting the game, finishing with eight points on 3-of-9 shooting, to go with five rebounds, three assists, one steal, one 3-pointer and one turnover. The constant poor shot selection will find him on the bench in a hurry during the regular-season, and he's going to have trouble finding consistent minutes playing behind Troy Daniels and Nicolas Batum. His fantasy value is right around zero.
Jul 7 - 4:48 PM

P.J. Hairston made 3-of-11 from the field on Saturday for 13 points with three rebounds, one assist, one steal and four turnovers.

He missed all five attempts from beyond the arc and really was forcing his shot throughout the game. Hairston's poor shot selection will continue to cost him playing time.
Jul 4 - 4:56 PM

P.J. Hairston (knee) will miss Wednesday's game vs. the Raptors.

Hairston had a pretty rocky rookie season, averaging 5.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.1 3-pointers on 32.3 percent shooting from the field. He probably won't be on the radar in fantasy leagues next season, but a strong showing this summer could change that. Troy Daniels, Jeff Taylor and Brian Roberts should see a lot of action tonight.
Apr 15 - 9:43 AM

P.J. Hairston (knee) will not play against the Rockets on Monday.

He suffered the injury on Sunday and chances are he's out for the season. Hairston did not have a great rookie campaign, averaging 5.6 points, 1.1 treys and 0.5 steals on 32.3 percent from the field. Expect Mo Williams to play tonight along with Troy Daniels helping out with the perimeter bench scoring.
Apr 13 - 5:17 PM

P.J. Hairston injured his knee in Sunday's game vs. Detroit, and he has already been ruled out for Monday's game vs. Houston.

The Hornets are calling it a knee sprain, but the fact that they ruled him out so early probably means that he could miss more time. In fact, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer said it was highly unlikely for Hairston to play again this season. We will update his status when we know more, but it's safe to drop Hairston in all leagues. Jeff Taylor and Troy Daniels will both benefit, but they aren't viable options outside of deeper leagues.
Apr 12 - 6:15 PM

P.J. Hairston will be active for Friday's game vs. the Bulls.

With Al Jefferson (knee) and Cody Zeller (shoulder) out, head coach Steve Clifford is forced to bring Hairston onto the active roster. He is however still behind Lance Stephenson and Gerald Henderson in the rotation, so there are no guarantees he even leaves the bench tonight. Hairston can safely remain on the waiver wire in most leagues.
Mar 13 - 7:03 PM

Hornets coach Steve Clifford said that rookie P.J. Hairston "hasn't developed any way to play to make his teammates better."

Charlotte is jockeying for a playoff spot and Clifford's rotation has no room for player development, so we're unlikely to see Hairston or fellow rookie Noah Vonleh on the court in the season's final weeks.
Mar 4 - 12:15 AM

P.J. Hairston was inactive during Sunday's game due to a missed weight-training session.

According to two sources, Hairston missed a weight-training obligation and was subsequently put on the inactive list for Sunday's game. Hairston was also made inactive for a game in December after an unexcused absence from practice, so this isn't his first transgression of his rookie season. The rookie has only suited up for one of the Hornets' last 10 games, so he can be left on the wire in all but the deepest fantasy leagues at this point.
Mar 3 - 10:20 AM

Hornets rookie P.J. Hairston came off the bench to score a career-high 16 points on 6-of-16 shooting in 27 minutes of action, while shooting 4-of-9 from downtown.

He hadn't played in February before this sudden outburst, which was a direct consequence of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's absence with a hamstring strain. Gerald Henderson is playing well as a starter and reserve guard Lance Stephenson is fully healthy, so Hairston's rest-of-season outlook is far too shaky to bother with him in most leagues.
Feb 10 - 9:37 PM

P.J. Hairston is dealing with a minor sprained left ankle, but he is expected to play against the Nuggets on Saturday.

While he should see a slightly larger role off the bench due to Kemba Walker's knee injury, Hairston is only worth a look in really deep leagues for owners in need of 3-pointers. We will let you know if his status changes prior to tip-off.
Jan 31 - 1:07 PM

P.J. Hairston suffered a sprained left ankle on Friday at practice and it does not appear to be serious.

He seems to be probable for Saturday to face the Nuggets. Hairston will be in the rotation for the Hornets now that they're without Kemba Walker. However, he's not going to have much fantasy value unless Lance Stephenson needs to miss time for whatever reason.
