P.J. Hairston (ankle) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Magic.
This will be Hairston's second consecutive missed game, but he really wasn't doing much when he was healthy. Gerald Henderson will likely draw another start on Friday with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) also sidelined, and he'll look to bounce-back from a scoreless performance vs. the Pacers on Wednesday. Hairston doesn't offer enough upside to be worth a stash, and he can be cut in most leagues. Nov 20 - 7:21 PM

P.J. Hairston (ankle) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against Indiana.

He was doubtful leading up to the game, and the fact that he was ruled out so early doesn't bode well for his status. Consider Hairston day-to-day for now, while Gary Neal (concussion) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) will also sit this game out. Gerald Henderson will likely see big minutes and is worth a look for owners in need of short term value. Hairston can be dropped in almost all leagues.
Nov 19 - 12:06 PM

P.J. Hairston (ankle) is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Pacers.

Hairston left the arena in a walking boot after Monday's loss to the Mavericks, so it's looking unlikely that he'll be able to play on Wednesday. With Gary Neal (concussion) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) already declared out for Wednesday, Gerald Henderson makes for a solid short-term add as he'll get plenty of run against the Pacers.

P.J. Hairston (ankle) left the arena on Monday with his foot in a walking boot.

He was ruled out fairly quickly from his ankle sprain, so it would appear he's going to miss some time. Gerald Henderson had a nice game tonight and is worth a look as a short-term guy. Although, his upside isn't very high. He finished with six points and two 3-pointers in 10 minutes.
Nov 17 - 10:09 PM

P.J. Hairston suffered a sprained right ankle on Monday and will not return.

The Hornets are awfully thin on the wing now with Gary Neal (concussion) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) out. Hairston would have played quite a bit off the bench, but now it'll be Gerald Henderson likely getting all the minutes he can handle. Hendo is still only a short-term guy in deep leagues.
Nov 17 - 8:47 PM

P.J. Hairston will likely draw another start in place of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) on Saturday.

Though he only played 17 minutes in Charlotte's win Friday, Hairston was still able to knock down three 3-pointers for nine points which is his bread and butter. MKG is day-to-day however, so Hairston will continue to only be an option in deep leagues or as a daily plug-and play.
Nov 15 - 1:05 PM

P.J. Hairston started for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) on Friday, scoring nine points on 3-of-8 shooting (including two triples) with two rebounds in 17 minutes.

This isn't enough to put him on fantasy radars in anything but daily leagues, but with MKG set to miss at least one more game it's a situation worth keeping a distant eye on.
Nov 15 - 2:44 AM

P.J. Hairston will start Friday vs. the Suns, in place of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot).

Hairston offers a lot of upside, and he has the ability to light it up from 3-point range. Coach Steve Clifford has been saying he's going to find more minutes for Hairston, and it's interesting that he's decided to start Hairston over veteran Gerald Henderson. We’d like to see how Hairston fares in the starting unit, so owners in standard leagues can use a wait-and-see approach. He could also have some nice value today for owners willing to roll the dice on him in daily leagues.

The Durham District Attorney has dropped assault charges against P.J. Hairston at alleged victim's request.

The charges were stemming from an incident that occurred in July, when Hairston reportedly punched a high school student twice during a pickup game. Hairston has a bit of a checkered past, but he'll look to put this episode behind him. He's currently averaging 5.0 points and 1.0 three-pointer over 13 minutes of action with the Hornets this season, and as long as Lance Stephenson is healthy, he's not going to be able to find enough minutes for standard league consideration.
Nov 13 - 6:11 PM

Hornets coach Steve Clifford reiterated on Friday that he is going to play P.J. Hairston when he was asked about Gerald Henderson picking up a DNP-CD.

The Hornets could use another scorer off of the bench so the move definitely makes sense. Henderson lost pretty much all of his fantasy value as soon as Charlotte signed Lance Stephenson in the offseason. Owners in deep leagues can simply monitor Hairston from the waiver wire while Henderson can be dropped in nearly every league.
Nov 9 - 9:11 AM

P.J. Hairston is spending extra time in the film room.

"He’s been here for extra film sessions and all that. I really like him," Steve Clifford said. Hairston faced an uphill climb with the Hornets after he was in the news for the wrong reasons during the offseason, but he's recently earned some playing time and is working on building trust with his head coach.
Nov 6 - 4:33 PM

P.J. Hairston made his NBA debut on Tuesday, finishing with four points on 2-of-3 shooting while adding one rebound in 14 minutes.

The injury to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (ribs) opened up some minutes for the rookie, so owners shouldn't make a move after Tuesday's game. With MKG expected to return very soon, Hairston can be safely ignored in almost all leagues.
Nov 4 - 11:00 PM

Hornets rookie P.J. Hairston notched 12 points, three 3-pointers, zero rebounds, one assist and one block in 19 bench minutes vs. the Bulls on Sunday.

Hairston is averaging just 18 minutes this preseason but he's quietly scored double-digit points in four of the Hornets' five games, while knocking down 2.2 triples per contest. He's off the fantasy radar as long as Lance Stephenson is healthy, but dynasty owners should make a note note of his early success.
Oct 19 - 10:54 PM

The Hornets signed P.J. Hairston to a rookie-scale deal on Friday.

It's taken a while for the Hornets to come to terms, and perhaps his off-the-court issues were a factor. Hairston was busy at Las Vegas Summer League with a lot of 3-pointers, but he'll only be a situational guy to start the season. He won't be fantasy relevant while Lance Stephenson and Gerald Henderson are healthy.
Aug 22 - 1:20 PM

P.J. Hairston's court case for assault charges in Durham will continue to Sept. 12.

That would mean if he has a trial, it might not be heard until October. Hairston faces misdemeanor charges and the league could fine or suspend him. He was the focal point of the Hornets' summer league team, but the Hornets suddenly have some depth on the wing and the rookie may not get in the rotation to start the season.
