The Rockets will not pick up Tyler Ennis' fourth-year option.
This means that Ennis will become a free agent next summer. He's averaging 12.0 minutes per game as the backup PG in Houston, but should fall out of the rotation once Patrick Beverley (knee) returns. Oct 31 - 11:08 AM

Updating a previous item, The Vertical is now reporting that the Rockets have chosen to keep Tyler Ennis.

Earlier in the day, The Vertical reported that Ennis would be waived. Now, reports indicate that Houston will instead let go of Pablo Prigioni and keep Ennis.
Oct 24 - 5:27 PM

The Rockets plan to waive G Tyler Ennis but may end up negotiating a new deal when/if he clears waivers, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.

The Rockets have to waive one more player in order to get down to the 15-man limit. Ennis, the 18th overall pick in the 2014 draft, hasn't made much of an impression over his first two years in the NBA, averaging just 4.1 points and 2.1 assists.
Oct 24 - 4:38 PM

Tyler Ennis scored six points with four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one turnover in 21 minutes on Friday.

He had a chance to get into the rotation, but he didn't really help himself. Ennis will have to battle with Pablo Prigioni for minutes, but there likely won't be enough minutes to matter anyway.
Oct 22 - 12:19 AM

Nene, Ryan Anderson, K.J. McDaniels, Corey Brewer and Tyler Ennis will start on Friday.

Nene isn't going to play a lot with the Rockets giving their guys a night off. This will be a big chance for Ennis to show he can get in the rotation behind James Harden while Pat Beverley (knee) is on the shelf.
Oct 21 - 7:14 PM

Rockets GM Daryl Morey said he had targeted Tyler Ennis in the 2014 draft.

The Rockets acquired Ennis from the Bucks in exchange for Michael Beasley on Friday, and Morey indicated that he will have a chance to crack the rotation. "He's a guy we've always had our eye on, that has an ability to pass," Morey said. "He definitely has a real chance to step up." It's not out of the question to think that Ennis could pass Pablo Prigioni on the depth chart, but Patrick Beverley is still the overwhelming favorite to start. Deep-league owners can just keep an eye on Ennis for now.
Sep 24 - 10:19 AM

Tyler Ennis has been traded to the Rockets in exchange for Michael Beasley.

Ennis was buried on the depth chart in Milwaukee last season, averaging 4.5 points and 2.1 assists in 14.2 minutes per game. He's only 22 years old and is joining a point guard rotation that includes Patrick Beverley and Pablo Prigioni, so it's possible that he could win the backup job. To be clear, he's only on the radar in very deep leagues.
Sep 22 - 4:20 PM

Tyler Ennis logged 39 minutes on Sunday but finished with only four points, four assists and three rebounds.

The Bucks snapped a three-game losing streak and they're now 3-8 in their past 11 games, a slump that leaves them with the 10th-worst record in the league. Ennis is getting all the run he can handle with the Bucks' backcourt thinned out by injuries, and he and Rashad Vaughn (nine points in 23 minutes) should continue to log heavy minutes down the stretch.
Apr 10 - 8:06 PM

Tyler Ennis will start at point guard for Sunday's game against the 76ers, sending Rashad Vaughn back to the bench.

Giannis Anteotkounmpo, Khris Middleton, Jabari Parker and Miles Plumlee will join Ennis in the starting five for tonight's game, and Ennis can be viewed as a potential streamer option in deep leagues for those seeking to close the gap in the assist category.

Tyler Ennis started on Friday and put up nine points on 3-of-11 shooting to go with six boards, 11 assists, two steals and three turnovers in 38 minutes.

Ennis can be hit-or-miss, but he’s established himself as a low-end deep league asset over the past six with averages of 9.0 points, 5.7 assists and 1.5 steals on 43.8 percent shooting. If you need some low-end production in assists and steals, give him a look.
Apr 8 - 10:20 PM

Tyler Ennis will start on Friday vs. the Celtics, sending Johnny O'Bryant back to the bench.

He will join Rashad Vaughn, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker and Greg Monroe in the first unit. Ennis is averaging 9.0 points, 4.6 assists, 3.6 boards, 1.4 steals and 0.6 3-pointers in 27.2 minutes over his last five games, so he's worth a look in deeper formats or if you're trying to save some money in DFS.
Apr 8 - 6:20 PM

Tyler Ennis (sore shoulder) looked good in 31 minutes off the bench Sunday, scoring seven points with eight assists, four rebounds and two steals.

The shoulder injury isn't limiting Ennis, who scored 15 points on Friday, and he'll continue to play extended minutes with Jerryd Bayless (knee) ailing. He's almost assured a spot in the rotation even when Bayless does return, as Jason Kidd has taken a shine to him. ''Tyler's not going to panic,'' Kidd said. ''He's a guy, no matter what the score, he's always calm ... His teammates trust him.'' Give him a look if you need a cheap PG in deeper leagues.

Apr 3 - 9:48 PM

Tyler Ennis (shoulder) scored a career-high 15 points against the Magic on Friday with two rebounds, one assist, two steals and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

He is likely going to stick in the second unit and should see minutes in the mid 20s. Jerryd Bayless (knee) doesn't have a timetable to return, so expect the Bucks to get a long look at Ennis. He's only worth a look in deep leagues, but he's on the radar in DFS in certain matchups.
Apr 1 - 11:23 PM

Tyler Ennis (shoulder) is expected to play on Friday vs. the Magic.

Jerryd Bayless (knee) has been ruled out, but Rashad Vaughn will draw the start at point guard on Friday. Ennis should still see decent minutes because Greivis Vasquez likely can't handle a full workload yet, but he's not worth deploying in most lineups.
Apr 1 - 6:33 PM

Tyler Ennis (shoulder strain) is questionable for Friday's game vs. the Magic.

For what it's worth, Ennis is also listed as the probable starter because Jerryd Bayless (knee) is considered doubtful. This is a shame because Ennis has been playing well, but hopefully he's able to give it a go tonight. If he sits out, Greivis Vasquez and Rashad Vaughn will have to step up.
