Rockets GM Daryl Morey said he had targeted Tyler Ennis in the 2014 draft.
The Rockets acquired Ennis from the Bucks in exchange for Michael Beasley on Friday, and Morey indicated that he will have a chance to crack the rotation. "He's a guy we've always had our eye on, that has an ability to pass," Morey said. "He definitely has a real chance to step up." It's not out of the question to think that Ennis could pass Pablo Prigioni on the depth chart, but Patrick Beverley is still the overwhelming favorite to start. Deep-league owners can just keep an eye on Ennis for now. Sep 24 - 10:19 AM

Tyler Ennis has been traded to the Rockets in exchange for Michael Beasley.

Ennis was buried on the depth chart in Milwaukee last season, averaging 4.5 points and 2.1 assists in 14.2 minutes per game. He's only 22 years old and is joining a point guard rotation that includes Patrick Beverley and Pablo Prigioni, so it's possible that he could win the backup job. To be clear, he's only on the radar in very deep leagues.
Sep 22 - 4:20 PM

Tyler Ennis logged 39 minutes on Sunday but finished with only four points, four assists and three rebounds.

The Bucks snapped a three-game losing streak and they're now 3-8 in their past 11 games, a slump that leaves them with the 10th-worst record in the league. Ennis is getting all the run he can handle with the Bucks' backcourt thinned out by injuries, and he and Rashad Vaughn (nine points in 23 minutes) should continue to log heavy minutes down the stretch.
Apr 10 - 8:06 PM

Tyler Ennis will start at point guard for Sunday's game against the 76ers, sending Rashad Vaughn back to the bench.

Giannis Anteotkounmpo, Khris Middleton, Jabari Parker and Miles Plumlee will join Ennis in the starting five for tonight's game, and Ennis can be viewed as a potential streamer option in deep leagues for those seeking to close the gap in the assist category.

Tyler Ennis started on Friday and put up nine points on 3-of-11 shooting to go with six boards, 11 assists, two steals and three turnovers in 38 minutes.

Ennis can be hit-or-miss, but he’s established himself as a low-end deep league asset over the past six with averages of 9.0 points, 5.7 assists and 1.5 steals on 43.8 percent shooting. If you need some low-end production in assists and steals, give him a look.
Apr 8 - 10:20 PM

Tyler Ennis will start on Friday vs. the Celtics, sending Johnny O'Bryant back to the bench.

He will join Rashad Vaughn, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker and Greg Monroe in the first unit. Ennis is averaging 9.0 points, 4.6 assists, 3.6 boards, 1.4 steals and 0.6 3-pointers in 27.2 minutes over his last five games, so he's worth a look in deeper formats or if you're trying to save some money in DFS.
Apr 8 - 6:20 PM

Tyler Ennis (sore shoulder) looked good in 31 minutes off the bench Sunday, scoring seven points with eight assists, four rebounds and two steals.

The shoulder injury isn't limiting Ennis, who scored 15 points on Friday, and he'll continue to play extended minutes with Jerryd Bayless (knee) ailing. He's almost assured a spot in the rotation even when Bayless does return, as Jason Kidd has taken a shine to him. ''Tyler's not going to panic,'' Kidd said. ''He's a guy, no matter what the score, he's always calm ... His teammates trust him.'' Give him a look if you need a cheap PG in deeper leagues.

Apr 3 - 9:48 PM

Tyler Ennis (shoulder) scored a career-high 15 points against the Magic on Friday with two rebounds, one assist, two steals and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

He is likely going to stick in the second unit and should see minutes in the mid 20s. Jerryd Bayless (knee) doesn't have a timetable to return, so expect the Bucks to get a long look at Ennis. He's only worth a look in deep leagues, but he's on the radar in DFS in certain matchups.
Apr 1 - 11:23 PM

Tyler Ennis (shoulder) is expected to play on Friday vs. the Magic.

Jerryd Bayless (knee) has been ruled out, but Rashad Vaughn will draw the start at point guard on Friday. Ennis should still see decent minutes because Greivis Vasquez likely can't handle a full workload yet, but he's not worth deploying in most lineups.
Apr 1 - 6:33 PM

Tyler Ennis (shoulder strain) is questionable for Friday's game vs. the Magic.

For what it's worth, Ennis is also listed as the probable starter because Jerryd Bayless (knee) is considered doubtful. This is a shame because Ennis has been playing well, but hopefully he's able to give it a go tonight. If he sits out, Greivis Vasquez and Rashad Vaughn will have to step up.
Apr 1 - 11:38 AM

Tyler Ennis is listed as the starting point guard for Friday's game vs. the Magic.

Jerryd Bayless (knee) is doubtful, so Ennis could be looking at a lot of minutes. Coach Jason Kidd is high on Ennis and may want to develop him during the last two weeks of the season, so deep-league owners should give him a look if he makes some noise tonight.
Apr 1 - 11:04 AM

Tyler Ennis had 10 points and four rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench on Wednesday, making 4-of-7 field goals and 2-of-2 free throws.

Jerryd Bayless suffered a "mild" hyper-extension and should be considered day-to-day, but he's been injured a lot this season and Milwaukee has no reason to rush him back for relatively meaningless games. Jason Kidd has already talked about developing Ennis, so this seems like a prime opportunity, and deep-league owners should at least give him a look.
Mar 30 - 11:19 PM

Tyler Ennis said that his confidence is beginning to grow with consistent playing time.

"It's just helping my confidence being out there," he said. "Coach is running a lot of pick-and-rolls for me." Ennis added that Jason Kidd has asked him to "be aggressive," and as a result he's trying to take "more of a leadership role with the second group." Kidd praised Ennis for "always [being] under control," and said that "his teammates trust him when he's out on the floor." After busting loose with 12 dimes on Saturday, Ennis could begin to take some time away from Jerryd Bayless the rest of the way.
Mar 28 - 12:07 PM

Tyler Ennis handed out a career-high 12 assists vs. the Hornets on Saturday with nine points, four boards, one steal and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes.

He was limited to minutes in the teens in his previous three games, but he picked up some extra run in garbage time. The Bucks won't make the playoffs and Jerryd Bayless will be a free agent this summer, so it's possible that he could get some more minutes down the stretch. However, he's still only worth monitoring in deeper leagues for now.
Mar 27 - 12:21 AM

Tyler Ennis scored a career-high 13 points vs. the Grizzlies on Thursday, adding four boards, three assists and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes.

Ennis played 28 minutes on Tuesday vs. the Raptors, so coach Jason Kidd is staying true to his word that he will continue find minutes for him. He doesn't have much upside and is still behind Jerryd Bayless on the depth chart, so he's only on the radar in deeper leagues. He will try to keep his momentum going vs. the Jazz on Sunday.
