Kyle Anderson felt good about being ready to step in for the Spurs when Kawhi Leonard (hand) went down.
"When I was told I would start, I was ready," said Anderson. "I went out there and played the way (coach Gregg Popovich) wants us to play, starting on the defensive end, finding open guys and playing within the system." Averaging 6.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals on 44.8 percent shooting (six games), Anderson has displayed some of the versatility he flashed in college. "He’s a young kid," Popovich said. "He hasn’t been playing very long. Every minute he gets is like an education for him." Dec 22 - 10:37 AM

Date:

Kyle Anderson logged 31 minutes against the Mavericks on Saturday with 11 points, eight rebounds, two steals and one 3-pointer.

The Spurs were somehow able to snag him at 30 in the 2014 NBA Draft and he already looks like a steal. Kawhi Leonard (hand) could miss time, so Anderson is worth a look in deeper leagues for his multiple-category production. Just remember that he's not going to play this much because half of the team was rested.
Dec 20 - 11:39 PM

Kyle Anderson will start against the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

He'll join Cory Joseph, Danny Green, Tim Duncan and Matt Bonner in the first unit. Anderson was very impressive on Monday with 15 points, so he could keep it going. He's not worth owning in most leagues with Kawhi Leonard (hand) only day-to-day.
Dec 17 - 8:41 PM

Kyle Anderson scored a career-high 15 points against the Blazers on Monday with five rebounds, one assist and one block in 20 minutes.

He looked great and did a lot of damage on his own in isolation. Anderson was not shooting the ball well to start the season, but he's up to 72.2 percent from the field over his last three. He won't be worth owning now, but keep an eye on him later in the season.
Dec 16 - 2:35 AM

Kyle Anderson made his first NBA start against the Knicks on Wednesday with nine points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one 3-pointer on 4-of-5 from the field.

Slo Mo looked very comfortable out there and had a number of plays drawn up for him tonight. Anderson has a long way to go for consistent minutes, but his career is off to a great start. If he can knock down treys, he'll have a nice career in fantasy and reality.
Dec 11 - 1:13 AM

Kyle Anderson is starting next to Cory Joseph, Danny Green, Matt Bonner and Aron Baynes.

The Spurs are going with a new starting lineup, but they should get a lot out of their bench. Anderson is a lot of fun to watch and has one of the best nicknames in the NBA. Slo Mo is not a great pickup right now.
Dec 10 - 8:31 PM

Spurs recalled F Kyle Anderson from the D-League.

You probably didn't even know he was gone. Anderson is not a factor in fantasy leagues.

Spurs assigned F Kyle Anderson to the D-League.

Anderson was assigned so he could play on Sunday against Santa Cruz, and it's likely he returns to the Spurs before you noticed he was gone.
Nov 24 - 9:15 AM

Kyle Anderson said on Friday that he feels fortunate to be a Spur.

"Of course I'm happy that I landed with the Spurs. I think I'm one of the most fortunate guys in the draft to land in San Antonio, especially as a 21-year-old kid," Anderson said. "I think that means a lot and it's going to help my career down the line." While it's nice to see that Anderson is happy in San Antonio, it will take at least a couple more years before he carves out a sizeable role, so he can be safely ignored in almost all formats for right now.
Nov 15 - 1:27 PM

Kyle Anderson said he doesn't use himself when he plays NBA2K15.

Anderson's explanation for not using his likeness when he games? "I'm trying to win so I don't really put myself in," the rookie said. Hopefully Anderson won't hold it against fantasy owners when they don't roster him as he's only seen minutes in two games this season.
Nov 11 - 12:38 PM

Kyle Anderson hit 1-of-8 shots for four points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in Thursday's bad loss to the Rockets.

If you played him in a daily league, he likely paid off. But on nights when the Spurs actually play Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan, Marco Belinelli and Tiago Splitter, it's hard to imagine Anderson doing much.
Nov 7 - 1:47 AM

Spurs rookie Kyle Anderson never left the bench in his nominal NBA debut on Tuesday.

Anderson is 6'9" and his savvy passing has earned comparisons to teammate Boris Diaw, who dismissed it by saying Anderson is "too skinny" to be his protege. The Spurs have their eyes set on another championship and there won't be many minutes for player development, ruling out Anderson for fantasy purposes.
Oct 28 - 11:20 PM

Kyle Anderson started with multiple Spurs starters out in Monday's 106-99 exhibition win over the Kings, scoring 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting with five rebounds, two assists, three steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes.

It's not fair but Anderson falling to the Spurs looks like another win for the organization. He won't have any fantasy value to start the year but keep his name in your mental Rolodex for down the line.
Oct 21 - 12:22 AM

Kyle Anderson looked great in the starting lineup against the Heat on Saturday with 17 points, seven boards, four assists, two 3-pointers and two turnovers on 4-of-9 from the field.

He was really crafty tonight and started off hot with his two 3-pointers to start the game. Anderson could get in the rotation to start the season with Kawhi Leonard (eyes) up in the air for the opener. He's still not worth drafting in most leagues.
Oct 18 - 11:58 PM

Kyle Anderson admitted on Saturday that it may be a daunting task for him to get minutes on the Spurs.

"It's a whole different game from anything I've learned about basketball previously," Anderson said of his practice with the Spurs. He was a focal point for the UCLA Bruins, but probably won't be in the rotation to start the season. Anderson was a steal for the Spurs with the 30th pick in the 2014 draft and he may wind up getting minutes at some point due to players getting rest or injuries popping up. Just keep an eye on him for now.
