Kyle Anderson started in place of the resting Kawhi Leonard on Monday vs. the Nets and played well with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
This was one of Anderson's best all-around games of the season. He played a team-high 35 minutes and looked comfortable running the offense, adding three assists, three rebounds, one steal, two blocks and one triple. We'd like to be more excited about this line, but this isn't the summer league and Anderson will return to the bench on Tuesday vs. the Raptors. His usage rate rises from 6.8 to 12.6 with Leonard off the court, so he will be a DFS punt option the next time Leonard gets a night off. Jan 23 - 9:51 PM

Date:

Kyle Anderson will start at small forward in place of the resting Kawhi Leonard.

Leonard will be back on Tuesday vs. Toronto, so Anderson is not a viable fantasy pickup. In nine previous starts this season, Anderson averaged 3.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steal. We should see a heavy dose of Jonathon Simmons as well.
Jan 23 - 7:29 PM

Kyle Anderson played 18 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday with two points, four rebounds, one assist, four steals and two blocks.

The Spurs when with a small-ball four and it really worked out. Anderson was a +19 in the plus-minus stat and he was out there on the last play, as well. Anderson could get decent run on Monday against the Nets, but obviously we're not adding him.
Jan 22 - 12:00 AM

Kyle Anderson headed back to the Spurs' bench on Sunday, going scoreless in eight minutes during a tough road loss in Atlanta.

Anderson started on Wednesday and Friday with Kawhi Leonard sick, after which Gregg Popovich praised Anderson's performance. He didn't do much for fantasy owners even as a starter, however, and is an obvious cut now that Kawhi is healthy.
Jan 1 - 10:05 PM

Kyle Anderson will return to the bench for Sunday's game against the Hawks.

Anderson wasn't worth deploying with Kawhi Leonard (stomach bug) on the shelf, and his value will only be worse running with the reserves. Leave him on the wire.
Jan 1 - 5:53 PM

Kyle Anderson will start in place of Kawhi Leonard (illness) on Friday vs. Portland.

Anderson has not been a reliable fantasy contributor, even in starts this season. He has started eight games in 2016-17 and is averaging just 3.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 22.8 minutes. He played 22 minutes and not score a single point in his start on Wednesday.

Kyle Anderson did not score in a start for Kawhi Leonard (illness) on Wednesday with four rebounds, five assists and one block in 22 minutes.

Maybe someone can just tell him that he's playing in Summer League? Anderson just hasn't been able to do anything noteworthy on a consistent basis in the NBA.
Thu, Dec 29, 2016 12:34:00 AM

Kyle Anderson will move into the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Suns, with Kawhi Leonard (stomach bug) unavailable.

In Anderson's seven previous starts this year, he has compiled averages of 3.6 points, 4.4 boards, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals on 45.5 percent shooting, so him earning that start tonight isn't all that exciting. LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol will see the biggest boost in value with Leonard on the sidelines.

Kyle Anderson played 22 minutes off the bench and had 11 points, a 3-pointer, six rebounds, four assists and a block on 2-of-4 shooting in Tuesday's 105-91 win over the Timberwolves.

Anderson had scored a total of six points in his previous four games, so don't get too excited. But with Danny Green scoring just five points last night, and averaging just 7.5 points in his 13 games this season, Anderson is worth keeping an eye on in case Gregg Popovich grows tired of Green's struggles. But for now, Anderson belongs on waivers, along with Green.
Wed, Dec 7, 2016 12:03:00 AM

Kyle Anderson started in place of Danny Green (rest) on Friday vs. the Pistons, scoring eight points with six rebounds, three assists and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes.

He didn't make the most of his opportunity early on in the season, so despite the decent performance tonight, his minutes will be unpredictable moving forward. Anderson will return to the bench on Saturday vs. Houston.
Fri, Nov 11, 2016 11:56:00 PM

Kyle Anderson shifted to the bench on Wednesday, where he went scoreless on 0-of-2 shooting with five boards and one steal in 13 minutes.

Slo-Mo didn't do much with his season-opening opportunity as a starter, averaging just 2.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 22.7 minutes. Suffice to say, this move to the Spurs' bench isn't likely to revive his fantasy appeal.
Thu, Nov 10, 2016 12:30:00 AM

Kyle Anderson will move to the bench on Wednesday.

The Spurs haven't got much out of Anderson this season. Coach Gregg Popovich was really high on him going into camp, but nothing came to fruition.
Wed, Nov 9, 2016 07:48:00 PM

Kyle Anderson had a 0.0 usage rate in 16 minutes on Saturday with two rebounds, two assists and one steal.

He has a 7.6 usage rate this season. Here's something to process: Joel Embiid's usage rate (39.7) is 5.2 times greater than his. There's just no upside here.
Sun, Nov 6, 2016 12:19:00 AM

Patty Mills, Kyle Anderson, Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol will start against the Clippers on Saturday.

The Spurs haven't lost with Anderson in the starting lineup, so the move makes sense. He doesn't have much value in fantasy, though.
Sat, Nov 5, 2016 08:26:00 PM

Kyle Anderson moved back into the starting lineup on Friday vs. the Jazz, but was held to two points on 1-of-3 shooting.

He's just not producing right now and added three boards, one assist and four steals in 24 minutes. We are waiting for either Anderson or Jonathon Simmons to run away with the starting job until Danny Green (thigh) returns, but they have been very inconsistent and neither player is worth holding onto in standard leagues for now.
