Kyle Anderson got another start for Kawhi Leonard (shoulder) on Monday and had 13 points, six rebounds, three steals and a 3-pointer in 32 minutes.
Leonard said he was simply held out for maintenance today, and not his new shoulder injury, so he should be back for the next one. But we're not sure how often he'll play, and this is starting to look like a lost season since he's only appeared in eight games thus far. And while Anderson hasn't exactly been a Kawhi clone in his absence, he's worth a look in deeper leagues. He's averaging 7.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.2 steals over his last five games. Kyle Anderson played 36 minutes vs. the Blazers on Sunday, scoring eight points (2-of-4 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs) with six rebounds, five assists and one steal.

Kawhi Leonard (left shoulder) was out tonight and Gregg Popovich said that he's dealing with a partial tear, but we don't have any more details. The Spurs are listing Kawhi as questionable for Monday but it would be surprising to see him return that quickly -- even Thursday's road game seems like a stretch. With Rudy Gay (heel) also ailing, Anderson should get another heavy workload in a road game vs. the Kings.
Jan 8 - 12:31 AM

Kyle Anderson made a start for LaMarcus Aldridge (rest) on Friday, scoring four points with five rebounds, two assists, three steals, one block, no turnovers and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes.

It's a typical Slo Mo line with low usage and some output in the other categories. Aldridge just got the day off here, but there's a decent chance another Spur rests on Sunday. Anderson could be useful with a Sunday-Monday back-to-back on the road.
Jan 6 - 12:11 AM

Kyle Anderson will start in place of LaMarcus Aldridge on Friday vs. Phoenix.

It sounds like a it's just a day off for Aldridge, but the Spurs do have a back-to-back set coming up this weekend on Sunday and Monday which means Anderson will be starting for Kawhi Leonard in one of those. He's a nice bargain in DFS tonight and standard-league owners can feel comfortable streaming him as well.
Jan 5 - 6:55 PM

Kyle Anderson sank 7-of-8 field goals to score 14 points with seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 36 minutes as a starter on Wednesday.

Kawhi Leonard was simply being rested, so this doesn't move the needle for Anderson's rest-of-season outlook. He was solid in Kawhi's absence to begin the season, but in five games off the bench he's averaged a quiet 5.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.4 blocks in 22.6 minutes. He's a solid low-end option in typical 12-team formats, especially while Rudy Gay (heel) is on the shelf.
Jan 3 - 10:16 PM

Kyle Anderson will move into the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against in the 76ers, with Kawhi Leonard (rest) taking the night off.

As a starter this season, Anderson has produced averages of 9.0 points, 6.0 boards, 2.9 dimes, 1.1 steals and 1.3 turnovers per contest on 51.8% shooting, so he's someone to think about streaming in deep leagues in what should be an uptempo matchup with Philly. Daily Slant: Kyle Anderson becomes one of the top DFS values on the board. He's priced cheaply across the industry and actually owns a 1.20 DK FPPM rate with Kawhi, Parker, Gay, Manu and Danny Green off the floor. Dejounte Murray actually leads the way in both usage rate (34.0%) and FPPM (1.38) in that split, so both players deserve a ton of attention as value options.
Jan 3 - 5:50 PM

Kyle Anderson scored eight points with seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in 20 minutes against the Pistons on Saturday.

Coach Gregg Popovich went with a lot of smaller lineups with plenty of Kawhi Leonard at the four, so he didn't turn to Slo Mo too much late in this game. Anderson is coming off a 29-minute, 16-point game on Thursday, and he should have ample opportunity while Rudy Gay (heel) is out for at least two weeks. He's worth owning in standard leagues.
Sat, Dec 30, 2017 09:24:00 PM

Kyle Anderson hit 4-of-4 shots and 8-of-8 free throws for 16 points, eight rebounds and a steal in 29 minutes and a start for the Spurs on Thursday.

Kawhi Leonard (rest) was out tonight so Anderson got the start and scored a season-high 16 points on a perfect night. Leonard has obviously missed a lot of other games this season and Anderson hasn't looked nearly this good in his other 24 starts. And with Leonard due back for the next one, Anderson is not someone who should be targeted on fantasy waiver wires. He hadn't scored more than six points in his previous four games after returning from a knee injury.

Kyle Anderson and Bryn Forbes will start for Kawhi Leonard (quad) and Danny Green (hamstring, groin) against the Kings on Saturday.

The Spurs are sitting their usual wings and they'll go right down the depth chart with their backups. Anderson was rolling before his knee injury, so today will be interesting to see if he can get hot again. He's on the radar in standard leagues.

Kyle Anderson (knee) looked great in his return to action on Wednesday, posting five points on 2-of-4 shooting, one 3-pointer, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 24 minutes.

Anderson sprained his MCL on Dec. 3 and wound up missing eight consecutive games. He was supposed to be on a 15-minute limit tonight, but he was balling and the Spurs opted to re-insert him late in a close game -- they escaped with a 93-91 road win. Based on early indications, Slo Mo's restrictions shouldn't be nearly as onerous as Kawhi Leonard's.

Kyle Anderson (knee) expected to play 15 minutes off the bench on Wednesday against the Blazers.

He said he is going to play today, but coach Gregg Popovich is going to limit him after missing the last two weeks. Anderson should have some value once he gets his game back and Pop has said he'll find a role for him even when Kawhi Leonard is active. He's a borderline pickup in standard leagues, but many owners can take a wait-and-see approach.

Kyle Anderson (knee) said he'll play against the Blazers on Wednesday.

He had an MCL sprain on Dec. 3 and was expected to miss 2-3 weeks, so he's back on the close end of his timetable. Anderson is a candidate to start tonight because Kawhi Leonard (rest) is not going to play. He was playing really well and coach Gregg Popovich has hinted Anderson will still have a solidified role even when Kawhi plays. He's worth a look in 14-team leagues for now, but he's probably going to have a minutes limit in his return today.
Wed, Dec 20, 2017 02:16:00 PM

Kyle Anderson (knee) has been upgraded to probable for Wednesday's game vs. Portland.

Anderson has been sidelined since early December with a sprained MCL in his left knee. He was originally expected to miss 2-3 weeks, so this is on the early side of that projection. Kawhi Leonard (quad, rest) has been ruled out of Wednesday's game, so Anderson could slide back into the starting lineup if he is cleared to play. However, it's safe to assume coach Popovich will keep Anderson on a minutes limit.
Tue, Dec 19, 2017 06:36:00 PM

Updating a previous report, Kyle Anderson is expected to miss the next 2-3 weeks of action with a sprained MCL in his left knee.

This isn't all that surprising considering how much pain Anderson was in following the injury, and with both him and Kawhi Leonard (quad) out, there will be more minutes available for guys like Bryn Forbes, Brandon Paul, Rudy Gay and Danny Green. Both Paul and Forbes have excelled in extended minutes this season, so if either one of those guys moves into the starting five, they'll immediately emerge as potential speculative adds in deep leagues. Anderson might not be worth hanging onto if your league doesn't offer an IR-spot.
Mon, Dec 4, 2017 03:13:00 PM

Kyle Anderson (left knee) and Kawhi Leonard (quad) will not play Monday vs. the Pistons.

We're still waiting for word on the MRI results of Anderson's left knee injury, but he was in some serious pain on Sunday night, so we wouldn't be surprised to see this turn into a lengthy absence. With Kawhi Leonard (quad) also unavailable, the Spurs could bring either Bryn Forbes or Brandan Paul into the starting five, and Rudy Gay could see a slight uptick in minutes. Stay tuned.
