Spurs assigned F Kyle Anderson to the D-League.

Anderson was assigned so he could play on Sunday against Santa Cruz, and it's likely he returns to the Spurs before you noticed he was gone.
Nov 24 - 9:15 AM

Kyle Anderson said on Friday that he feels fortunate to be a Spur.

"Of course I'm happy that I landed with the Spurs. I think I'm one of the most fortunate guys in the draft to land in San Antonio, especially as a 21-year-old kid," Anderson said. "I think that means a lot and it's going to help my career down the line." While it's nice to see that Anderson is happy in San Antonio, it will take at least a couple more years before he carves out a sizeable role, so he can be safely ignored in almost all formats for right now.
Nov 15 - 1:27 PM

Kyle Anderson said he doesn't use himself when he plays NBA2K15.

Anderson's explanation for not using his likeness when he games? "I'm trying to win so I don't really put myself in," the rookie said. Hopefully Anderson won't hold it against fantasy owners when they don't roster him as he's only seen minutes in two games this season.
Nov 11 - 12:38 PM

Kyle Anderson hit 1-of-8 shots for four points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in Thursday's bad loss to the Rockets.

If you played him in a daily league, he likely paid off. But on nights when the Spurs actually play Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan, Marco Belinelli and Tiago Splitter, it's hard to imagine Anderson doing much.
Nov 7 - 1:47 AM

Spurs rookie Kyle Anderson never left the bench in his nominal NBA debut on Tuesday.

Anderson is 6'9" and his savvy passing has earned comparisons to teammate Boris Diaw, who dismissed it by saying Anderson is "too skinny" to be his protege. The Spurs have their eyes set on another championship and there won't be many minutes for player development, ruling out Anderson for fantasy purposes.
Oct 28 - 11:20 PM

Kyle Anderson started with multiple Spurs starters out in Monday's 106-99 exhibition win over the Kings, scoring 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting with five rebounds, two assists, three steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes.

It's not fair but Anderson falling to the Spurs looks like another win for the organization. He won't have any fantasy value to start the year but keep his name in your mental Rolodex for down the line.
Oct 21 - 12:22 AM

Kyle Anderson looked great in the starting lineup against the Heat on Saturday with 17 points, seven boards, four assists, two 3-pointers and two turnovers on 4-of-9 from the field.

He was really crafty tonight and started off hot with his two 3-pointers to start the game. Anderson could get in the rotation to start the season with Kawhi Leonard (eyes) up in the air for the opener. He's still not worth drafting in most leagues.
Oct 18 - 11:58 PM

Kyle Anderson admitted on Saturday that it may be a daunting task for him to get minutes on the Spurs.

"It's a whole different game from anything I've learned about basketball previously," Anderson said of his practice with the Spurs. He was a focal point for the UCLA Bruins, but probably won't be in the rotation to start the season. Anderson was a steal for the Spurs with the 30th pick in the 2014 draft and he may wind up getting minutes at some point due to players getting rest or injuries popping up. Just keep an eye on him for now.
Sep 27 - 3:32 PM

Spurs rookie Kyle Anderson had a rough game vs. the Cavaliers on Sunday, scoring two points on 1-of-7 shooting with six rebounds and three steals in 25 minutes.

Anderson's nickname, Slo-Mo, was once again obvious as he struggled to defend the superior athleticism of Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins. The Spurs can afford to develop Anderson slowly, using him strategically in favorable matchups, and he's unlikely to have a big role as a rookie.
Jul 13 - 6:04 PM

The Spurs officially signed No. 30 pick Kyle Anderson on Saturday.

Anderson is 6'9" and 230 pounds but he's an abnormally good passer who averaged 14.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 6.5 assists last season. He also made 48.3 percent of his shots beyond the arc as a sophomore with UCLA, and looks like a perfect fit in Gregg Popovich's system. Unfortunately, with Boris Diaw re-signed and the Spurs intent on repeating as champions, the rookie isn't likely to play enough to have fantasy value.

Jul 12 - 1:26 PM

Kyle Anderson had a typical night vs. the Kings on Friday with six points, four boards, six assists and one steal in 26 minutes.

He lived up to his nickname Slo Mo today. Anderson acted as point forward on several possessions and played mistake-free ball. The Spurs didn't lose any depth this offseason, which means we won't see much of Anderson on the nights Coach Pop doesn't rest his players.
Jul 12 - 12:12 AM

General manager R.C. Buford said he doesn't know what position Kyle Anderson will play with the Spurs yet.

Buford added that coach Gregg Popovich and Anderson will probably figure out what position he'll play once they meet. The Spurs had Anderson fall into their laps at 30 and his passing skills will undoubtedly be put to use as long as he gets minutes. Slo Mo is unlikely to make an impact out of the gate, but could be a key rotational guy in a year or two.
Jun 28 - 12:40 AM

The Spurs selected UCLA forward Kyle Anderson with the 30th pick in the draft on Thursday.

This is such a Spurs pick. The 6’9" forward really showed off his versatility in his sophomore season, handing out 6.5 assists per game to go with 14.6 points, 8.8 boards, 1.8 steals, 0.8 blocks and 0.8 triples on 48.3 percent from the field and 73.7 percent from the line. On the down side, Anderson did turn the ball over quite a bit and still is below average as a scorer and defender. He'll get to learn from the best and coach Gregg Popovich will definitely find a way to use him. Although, it could take a couple years, so he's not on the fantasy map just yet.
Jun 26 - 10:47 PM

UCLA G/F Kyle Anderson will have a second workout with the Hawks on Monday.

Anderson is a unique prospect who played point guard with UCLA but stands 6'9" with a 7'3" wingspan, giving him enviable versatility at the NBA level. He's not the most athletic player, and he averaged 3.1 turnovers to go along with 6.5 assists per game last season, but he's drawing interest from the Suns, Bulls and Grizzlies in addition to the Hawks.
