Wayne Selden scored 10 points off the bench with two rebounds, one assist, one block and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday.
The move to the bench worked for the Grizzlies and Selden was still able to make an impact in the second unit. He probably won't be playing this much in Game 4, so this line is probably close to his peak. Apr 21 - 12:22 AM

Wayne Selden finished with five points, two assists and a rebound in 28 minutes off the bench in Sunday's loss against the Pistons.

Selden didn't do much with his opportunity, misfiring on seven of his nine field-goal attempts. Since the start of April he has played 23 or more minutes in each of his five outings, but he has really only had one nice shooting performance. Selden is averaging 7.8 points and 2.2 assists per game in five April games, making him worthy of fantasy attention only in the deepest of formats.
Apr 9 - 10:26 PM

Wayne Selden scored 10 points with one assist, two steals, one block and one triple in 24 minutes vs. the Spurs on Tuesday.

He came off the bench tonight with Vince Carter returning from a day of rest, but still got some decent burn with Tony Allen (eye) sitting this one out. Unless Allen sits on Wednesday vs. the Thunder, Selden can be left on the wire. Expect Allen to do everything in his power to suit up vs. Russell Westbrook.
Apr 5 - 1:08 AM

Wayne Selden will get bumped back to the bench for Tuesday's game vs. the Spurs.

Vince Carter (rest) will return on Tuesday. Selden has played a total of just eight minutes in the four games he has come off the bench this season. Leave him on waivers.
Apr 4 - 7:43 PM

Wayne Selden started in place of Vince Carter (rest) on Sunday to finish with five points, three assists, two rebounds and one steal in 27 minutes.

We've seen this act before. Selden has started four games this season but he averaged under 16 minutes in those appearances. He's a dubious fantasy option at any depth, even if the Grizzlies aggressively rest guys like Vince Carter and Tony Allen.
Apr 2 - 6:22 PM

Wayne Selden will start Sunday vs. the Lakers with Vince Carter (rest) unavailable.

Through four starts this season, Selden has only managed to produce averages of 5.0 points, 1.8 boards, and 1.0 triple per contest while seeing around 15.9 minutes a game, so him starting isn't all that exciting. Mike Conley, Tony Allen, James Ennis and Brandan Wright will join him the starting five tonight.

Wayne Selden started vs. the Pelicans on Tuesday and scored four points with two rebounds and one steal.

He logged 16 minutes and finished 2-of-6 from the field, but all four of his misses were from beyond the arc. It's not clear if Tony Allen (knee) will miss more time, but if Tuesday was any indication, Selden is only worth a look in the deepest of leagues.
Mar 21 - 11:23 PM

Wayne Selden will start in place of Tony Allen (knee) on Tuesday vs. the Pelicans.

He played a single minute in his debut on Saturday vs. the Spurs, but he will get the start against his former team tonight -- Selden made three appearances for the Pelicans during his 10-day contract and averaged 5.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 triples. Most fantasy owners can just keep an eye on Selden for now.
Mar 21 - 7:51 PM

Shams Charania of The Vertical is reporting that the Grizzlies will sign Pelicans free agent G Wayne Selden.

The Grizz will release Toney Douglas to make room on the roster. Selden had the best game of his young career on Friday night for New Orleans right before his 10-day contract expired. He scored 11 points with one rebound, one steal and three 3-pointers in 19 minutes in a win over the Rockets. Memphis has plenty of depth, so it is unlikely Selden will crack the rotation. He can be left on waivers.
Mar 18 - 1:34 PM

Wayne Selden Jr. made 4-of-5 from the field for a career-high 11 points with one rebound, one steal and three 3-pointers in 19 minutes against the Rockets on Friday.

Not bad. He had a 110.0 effective field goal percentage in his limited minutes. Selden obviously doesn't have much fantasy value.
Mar 18 - 1:03 AM

Wayne Selden got another start for New Orleans on Wednesday, but he had just three points, one rebound and one steal in 13 minutes of action.

The D-League call-up has failed to distinguish himself in limited action as a starter. There's no reason to touch him for fantasy purposes.
Mar 15 - 11:47 PM

Wayne Selden not only made his NBA debut on Tuesday for the Pelicans, he did it in the starting lineup.

He missed his only shot, hit 2-of-4 free throws and added three rebounds and an assist to his two-point scoring line on the biggest night of his life. The Pelicans wanted to check him out before his 10-day deal expires in a few days, so mission accomplished.
Mar 14 - 11:22 PM

Wayne Selden will start on Tuesday vs. the Blazers, sending Hollis Thompson to the bench.

He hasn't even made an appearance since signing his 10-day deal on Mar. 8, so the Pelicans probably just want to take a look at him before his deal expires. There aren't a lot of touches available in New Orleans these days, so the vast majority of fantasy owners can ignore Selden until further notice.
Mar 14 - 7:23 PM

The Pelicans have signed G Wayne Selden to a 10-day contract.

Selden will provide some backcourt depth in New Orleans, but it's unlikely he'll get enough minutes to matter in most leagues. Leave him on the wire.
Mar 8 - 5:52 PM

The Pelicans are planning to sign Wayne Selden to a 10-day contract, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

The Pels have an open roster spot and need to add depth in their backcourt. Selden was undrafted out of Kansas in 2016. He did sign a training camp deal with the Grizzlies but was waived in late October. He has yet to appear in an NBA game. Selden should be left on waivers in all leagues.
