Doug McDermott (knee) will be active on Monday against the Cavs.
It's unclear if he'll play, but it will be McBuckets' first game back since undergoing knee surgery in the middle of December. He'll likely be worked back in slowly, and the rookie does not have a spot in the rotation guaranteed to him after being out for about a month. Jan 19 - 10:54 AM

Doug McDermott (knee) is being listed as questionable for Monday's game vs. Cleveland.

Even if he's available to play, there are no guarantees he actually steps on the court. McDermott will likely be brought along slowly, and there's no reason to pick him up in almost any league.
Jan 18 - 6:44 PM

Doug McDermott (knee) said he wants to return on Monday.

There's a chance coach Tom Thibodeau has different ideas for the rookie. McDermott is not a lock to be in the rotation and he can be left on the wire in just about all leagues.
Jan 17 - 8:06 PM

Doug McDermott (knee) will not play Friday vs. the Celtics.

McDermott isn't a part of the Bulls' rotation, so there are no fantasy implications with this news. He can safely remain on the waiver wire in nearly all leagues.
Jan 16 - 11:14 AM

Doug McDermott (knee) is inactive for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.

He has returned to practice, but it still isn't clear when he will be activated. Regardless, McDermott likely won't be in the rotation this season and should be left on the waiver wire.
Jan 14 - 12:06 PM

Doug McDermott (knee) will not suit up for Friday's game against the Wizards.

He's returned to practice, so he's getting closer towards making a return. However, he wasn't a major part of the Bulls rotation before going down, and with averages of just 3.2 points on 42.3 percent shooting, McDermott can safely remain on the waiver wire in nearly all leagues.
Jan 9 - 11:58 AM

Doug McDermott (knee) returned to practice on Tuesday.

This was McDermott's first practice since undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery, and he's getting close to making a return. However, he will remain out for Wednesday's game against the Jazz, and when he is eventually activated, he still won't offer enough statistically for consideration in most leagues.
Jan 6 - 3:27 PM

Doug McDermott (knee) is making good progress, and has ramped up his activities in the past week.

He has been shooting, riding a stationary bicycle, and will now start running in water when the stitches from last Saturday's arthroscopic surgery to remove a small meniscus in his right knee are taken out. McDermott said that he hopes to beat his timetable and make it back to the court soon, and we will be sure to monitor his status closely and provide any updates as needed. However, he is still far off of the radar in standard leagues and can be left on the wire.

Doug McDermott (knee) is hopeful that he'll be able to return in 3-6 weeks.

McDermott has been limited to walking, riding a stationary bike, and shooting. However, he was not a part of the rotation before going down, so his return will be meaningless to owners in standard leagues.

Doug McDermott (knee) could have to rehab his knee for anywhere from 6-8 weeks.

This is devastating news for the rookie, and he will likely be sidelined until the All-Star Break. McDermott wasn't in the rotation before the injury, so his absence won't have a big impact in terms of fantasy. McDermott can be cut across the board.

Doug McDermott had arthroscopic knee surgery on Friday and is out indefinitely.

It doesn't sound like a serious surgery and he could make it back before the All-Star break. McDermott has basically fallen out of the rotation anyway and can be cut in all leagues.

Doug McDermott (knee) was not able to practice on Thursday, and is not likely to play Friday vs. Portland.

McDermott sees very limited minutes off the Bulls bench, so whether he plays or not should be of no concern to owners in standard leagues.

Doug McDermott (knee) will not suit up for Wednesday's game vs. the Nets.

McDermott only gets minutes during garbage-time, so there's not much fantasy implications to him being inactive. Leave him on the wire.
