Doug McDermott showed up against the Kings on Saturday, making 8-of-9 from the field for 21 points with five rebounds, no turnovers and four 3-pointers in 21 minutes.
That's his best scoring line on his new team while matching his best output in boards and treys. McDermott played just 11.7 minutes per game in his previous three games, so it's hard to get excited about this game. We'll have to see him do it a couple more times after he's rarely shown he is a fantasy asset in almost three full seasons. Mar 18 - 6:07 PM

Doug McDermott scored 11 points with no rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 22 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday.

This was his best two-way game on his new team. McDermott really needed it after he made a woeful 30.0 percent from the field for just 5.8 points and 0.3 treys in his previous March games. He will need to get hot and have some things happen to even be worthy of consideration in most leagues.
Mar 9 - 11:56 PM

Doug McDermott started the second half of Sunday's game in place of Alex Abrines (eye), finishing with six points, four rebounds and two assists in 35 minutes.

Abrines didn't return in the second half and we're considering him questionable to play vs. the Blazers on Tuesday. McDermott played just 12 minutes in the first half tonight and he didn't do much with the expanded minutes sans Abrines, contributing zero defensive stats or 3-pointers. He's yet to warrant fantasy attention since joining the Thunder during the All-Star break.

Doug McDermott is starting the second half of Sunday's game in place of Alex Abrines (eye).

Abrines is questionable to return and if he can't suit up McDermott should see plenty of action as the Thunder try to erase a 10-point halftime deficit.
Mar 5 - 9:54 PM

Doug McDermott scored six points with one rebound one assist and one turnover in 35 minutes against the Suns on Friday.

The minutes were there for McDermott, but he couldn't get it going. Any Bulls fan will tell just how bad McDermott can be when he's not in a good shooting rhythm, so a bad game is no surprise. His upside isn't the greatest anyway, so fantasy owners can wait until he gets somewhat hot before even considering him.
Mar 4 - 1:29 AM

Doug McDermott scored nine points with four rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes against the Blazers on Thursday.

Andre Roberson slid over to the two for most of his minutes, which allowed McDermott to get some heavy minutes at the three off the bench. His playing time has increased in each of his games with OKC and he could be looking at minutes in the mid-30s until Victor Oladipo (back) can return. McDermott is only worth a look as a short-term scorer, but he could be an interesting DFS play against the Suns on Friday.
Mar 3 - 1:40 AM

Doug McDermott came off the bench and hit 6-of-11 shots and four 3-pointers for 16 points, five rebounds and one assist in Tuesday's win over the Jazz.

He'd scored a total of 10 points in his previous two games but played well tonight in his 25 minutes. Domantas Sabonis and Andre Roberson have been offensive black holes for the Thunder, so it's possible that McDermott could actually start making some noise in OKC, but we'll have to see more where this came from before fully buying in.
Mar 1 - 12:11 AM

Doug McDermott played just 19 minutes in his Thunder debut on Friday vs. the Lakers, scoring eight points on 3-of-8 shooting.

He missed both of his 3-pointers and added four rebounds and two turnovers. Maybe the Thunder were taking it easy on him in his first game, but it's worrying that he only played 19 minutes with Victor Oladipo (back) on the shelf. He's not worth a pickup in standard leagues for now.
Feb 24 - 10:49 PM

Doug McDermott is available to play against the Lakers on Friday.

It'll be interesting to see how the Thunder will use McBuckets. Russell Westbrook sure could use another shooter out there next to him, especially with Andre Roberson only making 25.0 percent from deep off Westbrook passes. McDermott's defense will hold him back from seeing big minutes, so he's not a pickup just yet.
Feb 24 - 6:06 PM

Doug McDermott has been traded to the Thunder.

It sounds like Andre Roberson will remain in OKC, so that hurts McDermott's outlook a bit -- the Thunder are sending Cameron Payne, Anthony Morrow and Joffrey Lauvergne for McDermott and Taj Gibson. The Thunder clearly value McDermott and he should get a slight boost in OKC, so he's worth a look if you need a 3-point specialist. He averaged 10.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.3 steals in 24.5 minutes per game for the Bulls.
Feb 23 - 2:48 PM

According to Frank Isola of the NY Daily News, the Thunder are nearing a deal to acquire Doug McDermott.

The proposed deal would likely include Andre Roberson and Cameron Payne from the Thunder, so McDermott could potentially be the starting small forward in OKC. If you have a roster spot and need 3-pointers, McDermott is now firmly on the radar as a pickup. He's averaging 1.3 triples in 24.5 minutes per game for the Bulls.
Feb 23 - 2:10 PM

According to Royce Young of ESPN, the Thunder are interested in Doug McDermott.

In case you missed it, the Thunder are also interested in Taj Gibson. McDermott's price won't be low, as he's a career 39.8 percent shooter from beyond the arc and is still on his rookie-scale deal. If McDermott is moved to OKC, it's certainly possible that he could get a bump in value depending on the pieces involved. No deal is imminent right now.
Feb 23 - 11:12 AM

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, Doug McDermott is "in play" at the deadline.

From the sounds of things, every Bull appears to be available for the right price leading up to the deadline, but Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic are the most likely to be moved. This report is still in the rumor stage and McDermott hasn't been linked to any teams yet, but we'll keep a close eye on this.
Feb 23 - 9:24 AM

Doug McDermott scored 11 points with two rebounds and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes against the Celtics on Thursday.

He did a fine job off the bench and it does help that Nikola Mirotic (back) did not play in this game. The Bulls really need another shooter out there, so Mirotic not playing makes McDermott even more essential for spacing when he's out there. He's still not an add here.
Feb 16 - 10:45 PM

Doug McDermott moved back to the bench on Tuesday vs. the Raptors, but still had a great game with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting.

Jimmy Butler (heel) returned, but Doug McBuckets was still heavily involved because Nikola Mirotic (back) and Dwyane Wade (wrist) were both out. McDermott logged 32 minutes and added five rebounds, one assist and two triples, and he also closed this game out. The Bulls are one of two teams that do not play on Wednesday, but that makes him an enticing pickup for Thursday's two-game slate.
