Doug McDermott (knee) played three minutes during garbage time on Sunday, making one 3-pointer with no other stats to his credit.
McDermott checked in with his team down big with two minutes left. He's struggled with his shot since joining the Thunder, and there's no reason to think he'll emerge as a reliable rotation player in this series. He's off the injury report. Apr 17 - 12:13 AM

Date:

Doug McDermott (knee) is listed as out for Wednesday against the Nuggets.

He will miss the final three games of the season due to knee soreness. McDermott's injury doesn't sound, serious, so he should be ready for the first round against the Rockets. For tonight, Norris Cole, Semaj Christon and Andre Roberson figure to get decent wing minutes.

Apr 12 - 4:49 PM

Doug McDermott (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves.

He's been sent back to OKC to get his knee checked out, and for now, we'll be considering him questionable for the Thunder's regular-season finale against the Nuggets on Wednesday. Jerami Grant could pick up some extended minutes with McDermott on the shelf, but that doesn't mean all that much in fantasy hoops.
Apr 10 - 4:22 PM

Doug McDermott (sore left knee) will not play on Sunday.

McDermott was slated to come off the bench behind Andre Roberson, who was returning from his own knee injury, but instead he'll get the day off. We're considering him questionable to return for OKC's final regular-season games on Tuesday and Wednesday, but his status shouldn't impact many fantasy lineups.
Apr 9 - 5:36 PM

Doug McDermott will return to the second unit for Sunday's game against Denver.

McDermott was able to see 40 minutes as a starter on Friday sans Andre Roberson (knee), but his minutes will likely dip to the lower-20s tonight with Roberson back in action. McDermott is nothing more than a low-end 3-point streamer in deep leagues.
Apr 9 - 4:46 PM

Doug McDermott scored 11 points with five rebounds and two 3-pointers in 40 minutes as a starter for Andre Roberson (knee) against the Suns on Friday.

The minutes were there in a big way, but the Suns were actually covering him quite a bit to limit Russell Westbrook's assists. Expect to see plenty of shots going his way on Sunday against the Nuggets.
Apr 8 - 1:35 AM

Doug McDermott will start against the Suns on Friday.

Andre Roberson (knee) is not going to play, so McDermott should get plenty of minutes with Alex Abrines (knee) also out. If you're looking for some treys and scoring, he may help you out this weekend. He won't do much else, though.
Apr 7 - 8:41 PM

Doug McDermott showed up against the Kings on Saturday, making 8-of-9 from the field for 21 points with five rebounds, no turnovers and four 3-pointers in 21 minutes.

That's his best scoring line on his new team while matching his best output in boards and treys. McDermott played just 11.7 minutes per game in his previous three games, so it's hard to get excited about this game. We'll have to see him do it a couple more times after he's rarely shown he is a fantasy asset in almost three full seasons.
Mar 18 - 6:07 PM

Doug McDermott scored 11 points with no rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 22 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday.

This was his best two-way game on his new team. McDermott really needed it after he made a woeful 30.0 percent from the field for just 5.8 points and 0.3 treys in his previous March games. He will need to get hot and have some things happen to even be worthy of consideration in most leagues.
Mar 9 - 11:56 PM

Doug McDermott started the second half of Sunday's game in place of Alex Abrines (eye), finishing with six points, four rebounds and two assists in 35 minutes.

Abrines didn't return in the second half and we're considering him questionable to play vs. the Blazers on Tuesday. McDermott played just 12 minutes in the first half tonight and he didn't do much with the expanded minutes sans Abrines, contributing zero defensive stats or 3-pointers. He's yet to warrant fantasy attention since joining the Thunder during the All-Star break.
Mar 5 - 11:10 PM

Doug McDermott is starting the second half of Sunday's game in place of Alex Abrines (eye).

Abrines is questionable to return and if he can't suit up McDermott should see plenty of action as the Thunder try to erase a 10-point halftime deficit.
Mar 5 - 9:54 PM

Doug McDermott scored six points with one rebound one assist and one turnover in 35 minutes against the Suns on Friday.

The minutes were there for McDermott, but he couldn't get it going. Any Bulls fan will tell just how bad McDermott can be when he's not in a good shooting rhythm, so a bad game is no surprise. His upside isn't the greatest anyway, so fantasy owners can wait until he gets somewhat hot before even considering him.
Mar 4 - 1:29 AM

Doug McDermott scored nine points with four rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes against the Blazers on Thursday.

Andre Roberson slid over to the two for most of his minutes, which allowed McDermott to get some heavy minutes at the three off the bench. His playing time has increased in each of his games with OKC and he could be looking at minutes in the mid-30s until Victor Oladipo (back) can return. McDermott is only worth a look as a short-term scorer, but he could be an interesting DFS play against the Suns on Friday.
Mar 3 - 1:40 AM

Doug McDermott came off the bench and hit 6-of-11 shots and four 3-pointers for 16 points, five rebounds and one assist in Tuesday's win over the Jazz.

He'd scored a total of 10 points in his previous two games but played well tonight in his 25 minutes. Domantas Sabonis and Andre Roberson have been offensive black holes for the Thunder, so it's possible that McDermott could actually start making some noise in OKC, but we'll have to see more where this came from before fully buying in.
Mar 1 - 12:11 AM

Doug McDermott played just 19 minutes in his Thunder debut on Friday vs. the Lakers, scoring eight points on 3-of-8 shooting.

He missed both of his 3-pointers and added four rebounds and two turnovers. Maybe the Thunder were taking it easy on him in his first game, but it's worrying that he only played 19 minutes with Victor Oladipo (back) on the shelf. He's not worth a pickup in standard leagues for now.
