Cleanthony Early is still dealing with a hamstring injury.
It's unclear when Early may be able to return, which is unfortunate because he's playing in summer league for his next deal after New York declined to extend a qualifying contract offer. Jul 4 - 9:26 AM

Date:

Cleanthony Early (hamstring) is not expected to play on Saturday.

He injured his hamstring recently and he could miss more time. The Knicks didn't give him a qualifying offer, so getting out there to show what he can do is huge.
Jul 2 - 2:04 PM

The Knicks declined to give a qualifying contract offer to Cleanthony Early.

That means he'll be an unrestricted free agent, but the Knicks should be able to keep him on a low-cost deal should New York have interest.
Jun 30 - 4:28 PM

Cleanthony Early (hamstring) is not practicing with the Knicks summer league team on Thursday.

While this isn't huge news, each day he can't practice and play prevents the 25-year-old from developing. Early is listed as day-to-day and should be able to play in summer league, but he isn't on the fantasy radar right now.
Jun 30 - 11:28 AM

Cleanthony Early will enter the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pacers, with Carmelo Anthony (rest) unavailable.

Early wasn't very good at all in his previous start this season, tallying a measly two points, one rebound, one assist and one turnover while missing all six of his field goal attempts through 17 minutes of play. He's going to draw a tough matchup against Indiana tonight, so he's not that great of a target in most settings despite the increased opportunity.
Apr 12 - 5:38 PM

Cleanthony Early started on Sunday vs. the Pacers, but he missed all six of his shots from the field and finished with two points, one board, one assist and one block in 17 minutes.

Yeah, he didn't exactly light it up. Carmelo Anthony (rest) is expected to be back next game, so Early belongs on the wire in almost all leagues.
Apr 3 - 10:14 PM

Cleanthony Early will start on Sunday vs. the Pacers.

Carmelo Anthony is getting the night off to rest, and Early should get plenty of playing time because he won't have any minute restrictions. Early had seven points on 3-of-10 shooting with six boards and three assists in 23 minutes on Friday, but there's no reason to keep an eye on him outside of deeper leagues.
Apr 3 - 5:54 PM

The Knicks have recalled Cleanthony Early from the D-League.

The Knicks are out of the playoff hunt and will start reducing the minutes of their veterans, so it's possible that Early could get some playing time moving forward. To be clear, he isn't on the fantasy radar for now.
Apr 1 - 9:38 AM

Cleanthony Early appeared in his first game since sustaining a gunshot wound to his knee, playing 19 seconds without registering a single statistic on Sunday.

It's great to see Early back out there on the court, but as this blurb vividly illustrates, Cleanthony is not worth considering in any fantasy format. The Knicks assigned him to the D-League on Monday morning.
Mar 21 - 9:56 AM

Cleanthony Early (knee) has been recalled from the D-League, and he'll be available to play Sunday vs. the Kings.

This is the first game that Early will join the active roster since he was shot in the knee during a robbery on December 30, and he could see limited minutes off the bench tonight with Carmelo Anthony's (migraine) status up in the air. Still, he's unlikely to earn enough minutes to matter in most settings.
Mar 20 - 6:07 PM

Cleanthony Early (right knee) was a full participant during Tuesday's practice.

This is the first practice that Early has gone through since sustaining a gunshot wound to his right knee back in December, and he could play for the Knicks' D-League affiliate on Wednesday. With Lance Thomas (knee) out indefinitely, Early could soon make his way back to the active roster, although it's unlikely he earns enough minutes off the Knicks' bench to matter in most leagues.
Mar 9 - 9:08 AM

Knicks assign F Cleanthony Early to the D-League.

Early's rehab has gone well since initially sustaining a gunshot wound to his leg, but he's very unlikely to play any kind of meaningful minutes for the Knicks this season.
Mar 7 - 12:06 PM

Cleanthony Early (knee) got shots up in pre-game on Saturday.

He's coming along here and he might be on target to return this month. Early may not get minutes upon this return this year, but this is a good sign.
Mar 5 - 5:01 PM

Cleanthony Early (knee) could begin scrimmaging as early as next week.

While his recovery from a gunshot wound is coming along nicely, Early's progress on the court isn't worth monitoring for fantasy purposes.
Feb 29 - 1:14 PM

Cleanthony Early (knee) has been cleared to run at 100 percent, but he still isn't jumping.

He is targeting a return to the court in March which is nothing short of a miracle considering he suffered a gunshot wound to his knee in December. Early wasn't in the rotation prior to his injury and that likely won't change when he is cleared to play, so it's safe to leave him on the wire.
