The Knicks are starting Langston Galloway, Cleanthony Early, Tim Hardaway Jr., Lou Amundson and Andrea Bargnani on Saturday against the Raptors.
Early played poorly on Friday and it'll likely be Shane Larkin picking up most of the playing time. Early is not worth owning in almost any league right now. Feb 28 - 6:00 PM

Cleanthony Early scored two points in a start against the Pistons on Friday with two rebounds, one steal and one block.

He only played 20 minutes and this was not an encouraging game for him. Early had high hopes at the first sign of Carmelo Anthony missing time back in 2014, but it's just not happening. Leave him on the wire.
Feb 28 - 12:45 AM

Cleanthony Early will start on Friday against the Pistons.

He's basically taking Jose Calderon (Achilles) spot with Langston Galloway sliding over to the point. Early has been a disaster this season, so fantasy owners can keep him on the wire in most leagues. We'll let you know how he fares tonight considering he has some upside.
Feb 27 - 6:21 PM

Cleanthony Early is dealing with a new ankle sprain, leaving his status uncertain for Wednesday's game vs. Boston.

Lance Thomas (groin) will not play on Wednesday night, meaning players such as Travis Wear, Quincy Acy and Tim Hardaway Jr. could be in the mix for big minutes vs. the Celtics. Early isn't a reliable option in deeper leagues even when he is healthy, so owners cans safely leave him on the wire. Check back closer to tip-off for the latest updates.
Feb 25 - 10:36 AM

Cleanthony Early will shift to the bench for Sunday's game vs. the Cavaliers with Lance Thomas set to replace him.

In his first career start at small forward on Friday, Early scored just two points on 1-of-7 shooting so clearly the rookie still has a long way to go in his development. Early is more of a stash in deeper leagues in case he ever turns things around, while Thomas' game doesn't translate to fantasy very well. Owners in standard leagues shouldn't even concern themselves with this situation.
Feb 22 - 11:34 AM

Cleanthony Early made his first start at small forward in his career on Friday against the Heat, playing 23 minutes for two points, one rebound, one assist and one steal on 1-of-7 from the field.

Starting isn't his thing, apparently. In his only start at shooting guard, Early only scored six points on 2-of-9 from the field. He's made just 20 percent from the field in the last month and there are no other stats to suggest anything is coming. However, coach Derek Fisher sounds like he's going to play him. Just keep an eye on him in very deep leagues.
Feb 21 - 1:18 AM

Cleanthony Early will start at small forward on Friday against the Heat.

He'll join Jose Calderon, Langston Galloway, Jason Smith and Lou Amundson. Coach Derek Fisher said the hopes of starting Early will help him relax, so it sounds like it'll stick. Considering the struggles of Galloway and Tim Hardaway Jr., we might get a decent look at Early for a while. He's capable of putting up steals and treys, so owners in deeper leagues will want to watch him tonight.
Feb 20 - 5:56 PM

Cleanthony Early played 16 minutes against the Magic during an 89-83 loss on Wednesday, scoring three points with two rebounds and one 3-pointer.

Nobody really wants to step up while Carmelo Anthony (knee) is down, so maybe Early gets a look soon. He hasn't done enough to earn minutes just yet, but he does have some upside in steals and treys. Just keep an eye on him for now.
Feb 11 - 10:12 PM

Cleanthony Early was recalled from the NBA D-League on Saturday.

He might get into the rotation against the Warriors on Saturday if Carmelo Anthony (rest) sits this one out, but Early is still too unreliable to use in almost all leagues. Look for Early's minutes to trend up as the season progresses, but it's safe to leave him on the wire for now.
Feb 7 - 11:42 AM

Cleanthony Early was assigned to the NBA D-League on Thursday.

The rookie has had a tough time cracking the rotation with the Knicks, so he will have to continue to develop his game in the D-League for now. Early can be left on the wire in almost all leagues.
Feb 5 - 5:51 PM

Cleanthony Early played just three minutes against the Celtics on Tuesday after head coach Derek Fisher said that he would try to give the rookie more playing time.

With the Knicks obviously thinking towards the future, it's definitely surprising to see coach Fisher give valuable minutes to Lance Thomas and Quincy Acy as opposed to Early. The rookie has plenty of potential, but he still hasn't been able to carve out a role in New York. Early will be someone worth monitoring after the All-Star break if Carmelo Anthony is shut down, so owners in deep leagues should at least keep tabs on the rookie.
Feb 4 - 9:37 AM

Knicks head coach Derek Fisher is planning on finding more minutes for Cleanthony Early on Tuesday.

"I think Cle is in need of just playing the game and being out on the floor more and more," Fisher said. "I didn’t think it was fair to put him out there three days in a row [Sunday] and jeopardize his body so I think that [Tuesday] night we’ll be able to find some minutes for him." While the Knicks second-round pick will get some extra run on Tuesday, he has a long way to go before he belongs on fantasy radars.
Feb 3 - 10:31 AM

Cleanthony Early is expected to see some minutes on Tuesday.

Early hasn't seen more than sporadic minutes since mid-January, and he's appeared in just two games since January 10th. He could see a larger role in the unofficial second half of the season with the Knicks going nowhere and Carmelo Anthony (knee) likely to shut it down, but he has a lot to prove before becoming an asset in fantasy leagues.
Feb 2 - 1:53 PM

Cleanthony Early was recalled from the D-League and will be available to play against the Lakers on Sunday.

The rookie has had some tough luck with injuries this season, and while he does have plenty of potential, he's currently not in the rotation. Early is worth keeping an eye on in deeper leagues if the Knicks decide to shut Carmelo Anthony down for the season, but it's safe to leave Early on the wire for now.
Feb 1 - 9:37 AM

Cleanthony Early has been sent down for a D-League stint.

Early is very raw, and he'll get some much needed experience in the D-League. It's been hard for him to step into the rotation in New York, and he'll need a few injuries to the guys ahead of him in the rotation before he can gain any relevancy in standard leagues.
