Cleanthony Early (knee) may be able to begin practicing with his teammates after the club's three-game road trip concludes.
Anthony had his knee scoped in mid-November, so a return to practice in the beginning of 2015 would mean about six weeks on the sidelines for the rookie. "They say when I get back I should be able to start practicing and going with the team," Early said. Dec 29 - 10:21 AM

Cleanthony Early (knee) will miss at least a month after he undergoes arthroscopy this week to remove a loose body in his right knee.

Early will be re-evaluated after a month, so it sounds like we may not see him back until the calendar turns to 2015. The rookie is only averaging 2.7 points and 1.0 rebounds through seven games, so this news shouldn't have any effect on fantasy rosters.
Nov 18 - 1:13 PM

Cleanthony Early scored 12 points in 16 minutes against the Nets on Friday with three rebounds, one assist, one steal and three 3-pointers.

It was a career high in scoring and he had a nice and-one dunk tonight. Early still won't be worth owning in almost any league, but it's nice to see he can score at the NBA level.
Nov 8 - 1:21 AM

A Western Conference scout said Cleanthony Early is going to be a better pro than a college player.

"He’s got good size. Can he play the three position is the question mark," the scout said. "He can shoot the ball and everyone’s looking for big-sized shooters. He’s not a bad athlete.’’ Early didn't do a great job of putting the ball on the floor at summer league, so he'll likely just be a floor-spacing guy in the second unit. He's expected to back up Carmelo Anthony and should get minutes right out of the gate.
Aug 2 - 1:42 PM

The Knicks officially signed rookie Cleanthony Early on Friday.

Early was decent during Summer League in Vegas, averaging 11.5 points and 4.8 rebounds, over 27.9 minutes but he's not likely to have a major impact on the 2014-15 fantasy season.
Aug 1 - 3:10 PM

Cleanthony Early double-doubled vs. the Hornets on Saturday with 15 points, 10 boards, two assists and one turnover in 30 minutes.

He was an asset to the summer-league squad and fit in nicely on the wing. Early doesn't put the ball on the floor a lot, so he'll really have to work on his shot from distance in order to make a significant impact. He'll make the team, though.
Jul 19 - 6:35 PM

Cleanthony Early will not play on Monday due to a sprained ankle.

The summer league fans will have to find another story to follow here. Early looked terrific in the Vegas opener, but he fizzled out in the second game. His handles could use some work, but there is potential here.
Jul 14 - 3:33 PM

Cleanthony Early looked like a first-round pick in his pro debut vs. the Mavericks on Friday, scoring 13 points with one rebound, two blocks and three 3-pointers.

He was having a blast on the court and was even doing some flashy dunks in layup lines to start the game. Early really embraced getting in the open floor and also had some nice buckets in half-court sets. It's early -- no pun intended -- but the Knicks look like they got a great pick in the second round. He's still not on the radar in most fantasy leagues, though.
Jul 11 - 6:41 PM

The Knicks used one of the picks they got from Wednesday's trade with Dallas on Wichita State forward Cleanthony Early.

The Wichita State Shockers lost just once last season and were led by Cleanthony’s 16.4 points per game. He shot 48.6 percent from the field and 84.4 percent from the line during last season, and even finished strong against the Kentucky Wildcats, making 12-of-17 from the field in the season-ending loss. Early likely took advantage of his the offensive-friendly system and he’ll take some time before he’s able to contribute on a regular basis. For a team that hasn't had much to celebrate, the Knicks might have gotten the steal of the draft if Early can live up to the hype.
