Montrezl Harrell (migraine) checked in during garbage time on Sunday and finished with one point and two rebounds in four minutes.
Before the game Mike D'Antoni vowed to use an eight-man rotation, and he stuck to his word. Harrell, Troy Williams and Bobby Brown only checked in out of necessity during garbage-time, and it would take a few injuries for any of them to have DFS appeal during the playoffs. Apr 17 - 12:38 AM

Date:

Montrezl Harrell (migraine) is available on Sunday, as expected.

Harrell sat out Saturday's practice but he'll be available tonight. It's unclear if he'll play, however, as Mike D'Antoni plans to keep a tight 8-man rotation.
Apr 16 - 8:53 PM

Montrezl Harrell did not practice on Saturday due to a migraine but is expected to be available for Game 1 vs. the Thunder on Sunday.

Minimal fantasy impact here, as Harrell likely won't log many minutes as long as Clint Capela and Nene stay out of foul trouble.
Apr 15 - 1:29 PM

Montrezl Harrell double-doubled vs. the Clippers on Monday with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Nene (fingers) was out again and Clint Capela was rested, and with rookie Chinanu Onuaku getting into foul trouble, it was the Montrezl Harrell show for the Rockets. He finished 7-of-12 from the field with a block in 32 minutes, but this is coming on the heels of a two-point game on Sunday. Unless Capela and Nene are both out again on Wednesday in the season finale, most fantasy owners can find a better option than Harrell.
Apr 11 - 1:38 AM

Montrezl Harrell scored 13 points with two rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 27 minutes against the Pistons on Friday.

With Nene out for the next two, Harrell should be all set for minutes in the 20s the rest of the way. As long as the Boban nightmares don't mess with his head, he could be a sneaky fantasy play in deep leagues or DFS.
Apr 7 - 11:51 PM

Montrezl Harrell and Troy Williams started the third quarter for Nene and Ryan Anderson.

The vets had limitations for this game, so this move isn't a surprise. Harrell is getting a heavy dose of Boban.
Apr 7 - 9:23 PM

Montrezl Harrell scored 11 points with four rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 22 minutes against the Warriors on Friday.

He gave the Rockets big minutes after being there for the birth of his daughter. Harrell figures to be the third center when Nene returns for the game on Sunday.
Apr 1 - 1:49 AM

Montrezl Harrell (personal) is expected to return to the Rockets lineup on Friday for their matchup against Golden State.

Harrell missed the last two games due to the birth of his daughter. Nene (rest) will not play on Friday, which means Harrell will back up Clint Capela and run with the second unit. Coach Mike D'Antoni praised Harrell's unselfishness this season. "He's not displayed anything other than a willingness to be a good teammate and play well when he gets a chance. That's commendable. That's harder than it looks," said D'Antoni.
Mar 31 - 9:14 AM

Montrezl Harrell (personal) will miss Tuesday's game against the Warriors as well as Thursday's game vs. the Trail Blazers.

His girlfriend is having a baby, so Harrell will be unavailable for the next two. He's been out of the rotation over the past four, though, so his absence won't have any consequence in fantasy hoops.
Mar 28 - 6:31 PM

Montrezl Harrell scored 13 points with six rebounds and one block in 19 minutes against the Pelicans on Friday.

The Rockets are expected to roll with Nene in the second half of a back-to-back set in Denver on Saturday, so Harrell could be a DNP-CD for that game. He played well today, though.
Mar 18 - 12:34 AM

Montrezl Harrell was back in Houston's rotation on Wednesday, playing 16 minutes to finish with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting, two rebounds, one assist and one block.

Harrell was coming off three straight DNP-CDs, but he resurfaced in Mike D'Antoni's rotations with Ryan Anderson (back) unavailable and Nene resting due to a few nagging injuries. Nene should return for Houston's next game, however, so it's hard to like Harrell's outlook despite tonight's solid performance.
Mar 9 - 12:26 AM

Coach Mike D'Antoni said Montrezl Harrell "deserves to play," but admits he will have a hard time finding minutes for a third center.

Harrell has played a total of just 10 minutes over the Rockets last three games, including a DNP-CD in Wednesday's win over the Clippers. Clint Capela and Nene have been playing well recently, and this has resulted in Harrell being the odd man out. "Trying to play three guys, you just can't do it," D'Antoni said. "To be honest, it's a byproduct of Nene playing really well, Clint playing well and when they do that, it's hard to get the third guy in there." Harrell can be left on waivers.

Mar 4 - 10:06 AM

Montrezl Harrell hit 7-of-10 shots for 15 points, four rebounds and a steal in 22 minutes off the bench on Thursday.

Nene got the night off to rest his sore shoulder which meant more minutes for Harrell. But on nights when Nene and Clint Capela (who started again) are both playing, Harrell just doesn't see enough minutes to be trusted in fantasy. Nene will probably be back for the next one, so look for Harrell to fade hard. He was a DNP-CD on Tuesday, scored eight points on Friday, got another DNP last Thursday, and scored seven points in just 15 minutes on Jan. 31. He belongs on waivers as long as Capela and Nene are relatively healthy.
Feb 9 - 9:52 PM

Montrezl Harrell received a DNP-CD on Thursday against the Hawks.

Harrell's run could have come to an end now that Clint Capela is back to near full health. So long as Capela, Ryan Anderson and Nene are healthy, Harrell will see limited action.
Feb 2 - 11:28 PM

Montrezl Harrell moved back to the bench on Tuesday and hit 3-of-3 shots for seven points, three rebounds and three assists in just 15 minutes of a blowout win over the Kings.

The blowout possibly factored into his low minutes, but Clint Capela should be the starting center for the Rockets until further notice now that his broken leg is finally healed. Additionally, Nene was back from a rest, which further limited Harrell's minutes. If Capela is locked in as the starter going forward, Harrell's strong production might finally be coming to an end.
