Montrezl Harrell posted seven points with three rebounds and two steals over 18 minutes in Saturday's loss against the Jazz.
Harrell, not Willie Reed, is the fantasy option you want as long as DeAndre Jordan (ankle) remains sidelined. He has played well in recent games, although this wasn't the best of his performances. Harrell could continue to have some fantasy staying power if Jordan is shipped out of town. He is worth scooping up if he is available in deeper fantasy leagues. Jan 21 - 12:02 AM

Montrezl Harrell had another big game on Wednesday with 18 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks, making 6-of-10 FGs and 6-of-13 FTs in 31 minutes.

Doc Rivers said before tonight's game that DeAndre Jordan's sprained ankle remains swollen and is "progressing slower than the Clippers have expected." That opens the door for Harrell to play extended minutes again on Saturday, and either way he should have secured a steady bench role. In the past five games, he's averaging 16.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks, while making 64.8% field goals. Just beware his terrible FT shooting.
Jan 18 - 1:59 AM

Montrezl Harrell posted 10 points with six rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots over 32 minutes in Monday's win against the Rockets, his former team.

Harrell had a chance to exact a little revenge against his old teammates with DeAndre Jordan (ankle) on the shelf and only Willie Reed standing in his way. While Reed started, he was limited to 10 minutes, opening the door for the more gifted offensive player Harrell to shine. He hit 4-of-7 from the field and 2-of-3 from the free-throw line while posting a plus-8 rating. As long as Jordan is sidelined Harrell has some short-term fantasy and DFS appeal.
Jan 16 - 2:28 AM

Montrezl Harrell netted 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting Saturday, to go with six rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and one turnover in 22 minutes off the bench.

Harrell should be flirting with minutes in the mid-20s while DeAndre Jordan (ankle) is on the sidelines, which is enough floor time for him to make a meaningful impact in fantasy hoops. Jordan's ankle injury doesn't seem very serious, but if you picked up Harrell during his recent three-game hot streak, you might as well just keep him until he gives you a reason to send him to the wire.
Jan 13 - 7:59 PM

Montrezl Harrell hit 11-of-12 shots and 3-of-9 free throws for a season-high 25 points, six rebounds and a steal in 27 minutes of Thursday's win over the Kings.

Harrell's arrow was pointing down with the return of Blake Griffin tonight, but DeAndre Jordan went down with a sprained ankle and didn't return. Harrell should keep rolling if Jordan's going to miss time, and had 14 points and seven boards in his previous game. If you own him, just hang onto him until we find out how long Jordan will be sidelined for the Clippers. And for the record, Harrell actually played very well in the first half when Jordan was healthy, and then really turned it on in the second half. Just beware of his free throw shooting if you're thinking about grabbing him. He's hit just four of his last 14 shots from the line.
Jan 12 - 1:24 AM

Montrezl Harrell chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds in 26 minutes on Wednesday, hitting 7-of-13 shots without any assists, steals or blocks.

Blake Griffin is still in the league's concussion protocol but he could be cleared in time for Thursday's game vs. Sacramento. Harrell would be worth a look for streaming value if Blake misses more games, but anyone relying on him should keep a close eye on the Clippers' team news page.
Jan 11 - 1:39 AM

Montrezl Harrel scored nine points with 10 rebonds, three assists and two blocks in 32 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.

He's probably looking at a big role again with Blake Griffin (concussion) out. For what it's worth, Harrell was kind of rolling before Blake returned, posting a 22-point, eight-board game back on Dec. 26. With four games coming up this week, Harrell could be worth a look in 14-team leagues or even shallower if you need a big man in a pinch, especially with so many teams playing two games this week.
Jan 6 - 6:13 PM

Montrezl Harrell logged 12 minutes off the bench on Sunday, scoring six points with one rebound and one block.

The 23-year-old big man has made the most of his minutes lately, averaging 14.3 points on 65.4% shooting in his past three games. His minutes and shot attempts are trending down with Blake Griffin active, predictably, but he's at least fending off Willie Reed (DNP-CD) for backup-center minutes.

Montrezl Harrell scored 15 points with nine rebounds and two blocks in 16 minutes against the Lakers on Friday.

The days of Harrell playing the four are probably done, but he has clearly taken over the backup five spot. The Clippers aren't too far out of the playoff picture, so maybe they hang on with DeAndre Jordan after all.

Montrezl Harrell took advantage of some extra garbage time on Tuesday and hit 7-of-12 shots and 8-of-9 free throws for a season-high 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists and a block in 22 minutes.

Yeah, it was garbage time, but Harrell was really into it and enjoyed beating up on the Kings' second unit. His timing isn't the best, as Blake Griffin could return as early as Friday, and Harrell had scored just a total of eight points over his previous two games. As long as Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan are playing big roles for the Clippers, it's going to be tough for Harrell to do much on a regular basis. But if you used him in DFS tonight, congratulations are in order.

Montrezl Harrell returned to the bench for Saturday's 115-112 loss at Memphis, and he finished with five points.

Harrell was in the starting lineup for some added size in Houston on Friday night, but he was actually a little more effective in this one off the bench. He hit 2-of-6 from the floor while also adding three rebounds, an assist, a steal and a blocked shot across 13 minutes. He might eventually see a huge role in L.A. if the team decides to part with DeAndre Jordan at some point. Until then, he remains a low-end fantasy option in deeper leagues.

Montrezl Harrell was good for just three points, one rebound and a steal across 13 minutes in Friday's 128-118 win in Houston.

The Clips might have found a way to shock the Rockets, Harrell's former team, but he had little to do with the outcome. The team wanted to go bigger against the Rockets, and he did a fair job containing Ryan Anderson at the defensive end, but he was an absolute bust for those looking for a DFS low-cost steal. You got what you paid for in this one.

Montrezl Harrell will start against Houston on Friday night.

Revenge game? Harrell was picking up the vast majority of the backup center minutes, but now the Clippers will try to go bigger against the Rockets. Harrell is going to be asked to cover Ryan Anderson, so his perimeter defense will be tested. He could have a chance to play minutes in the 20s, so he's an option for DFS or as a streamer.
Fri, Dec 22, 2017 06:41:00 PM

Montrezl Harrell scored 15 points with two rebounds, two blocks and no turnovers in 16 minutes against the Heat on Saturday.

He has a firm grip on the backup center job and he saw some power forward minutes today. Harrell is turning in some standalone value in deep leagues and he gets a bonus for stash appeal because of DeAndre Jordan trade rumors.
Sat, Dec 16, 2017 10:40:00 PM

Montrezl Harrell (knee) had seven points, four rebounds and one assist in 12 minutes off the bench vs. Orlando on Wednesday.

Harrell survived a scary moment in Monday's game, when he hyperextended his knee following a blocked shot, but fortunately he looked fine tonight. His ascension to the backup C job has resulted in a string of DNP-CDs for Willie Reed, a situation that's unlikely to change as long as Harrell brings energy and rebounding off the bench.
