Montrezl Harrell will likely be suspended for pushing an official during a D-League game.

Harrell got into a confrontation with another player during the closing minutes of Saturday's loss to the Bakersfield Jam, and when an official tried to get in between the two, Harrell shoved the official to the ground. The referees union is labeling Harrell's actions as "assault and battery" and demanding a multi-game suspension. While a suspension is likely, Harrell's absence from the active roster will not impact fantasy hoops, as he's not a regular part of the rotation.
Mar 29 - 3:32 PM

The Rockets have assigned Montrezl Harrell and K.J. McDaniels to the D-League.

The Rockets will do everything they can to get into the postseason, so they won't have minutes available for Harrell or McDaniels any time soon.

J.B. Bickerstaff said the Rockets are going to play whoever performs best at the power forward position.

"They all might not play," he said. "That's what it's going to have to come down to. We want to get those guys longer stretches. Whoever plays best at that position is going to play." Bickerstaff wants to get Montrezl Harrell more playing time, but not everyone can play with Josh Smith starting, Donatas Motiejunas healthy enough to go and Terrence Jones still battling inconsistency. It only further muddies the water that the Rockets often turn to Trevor Ariza as a small-ball four, as well. With the exception of Ariza, none of Houston's other options are must-own—let alone must-start—players.

Montrezl Harrell played 15 minutes against the Blazers on Saturday with five points, five rebounds and two turnovers.

He did not come in until the second half with the score at 61-36. Harrell is likely out of the rotation when the Rockets aren't getting smoked, so leave him on the wire.
Feb 6 - 7:57 PM

Montrezl Harrell (illness) is available to play vs. the Trail Blazers on Saturday.

Terrence Jones is out with a concussion so Harrell could easily emerge as a part of the Rockets' rotation, though he's still an unappealing option in all formats.
Feb 5 - 5:46 PM

Montrezl Harrell (illness) will miss Thursday's game vs. the Suns.

Harrell is a negligible part of the rotation in Houston, so his absence will go largely unnoticed in fantasy hoops. Leave him on the wire.
Feb 3 - 1:15 PM

Montrezl Harrell (illness) will not play on Tuesday vs. the Heat.

The rookie isn't a consistent part of the rotation, and that likely won't change unless the Rockets trade Terrence Jones. Leave Harrell on the wire.
Feb 2 - 7:18 PM

Montrezl Harrell (illness) is questionable to play Tuesday vs. Miami.

Harrell isn't a major part of the rotation in Houston, so his absence doesn't mean much at all in fantasy hoops. If Harrell and Clint Capela (hip) can't play Tuesday, Terrence Jones could see his playing time in the lower-20s with Dwight Howard (suspension) also unavailable vs. Miami.

The Rockets recalled Montrezl Harrell and K.J. McDaniels from the D-League.

Neither player is a consistent part of the rotation and that isn't likely to change. Leave them on the wire.
Jan 29 - 11:17 AM

Montrezl Harrell was a DNP-CD on Friday.

The arrival of Josh Smith bumped him from the rotation. Harrell can be dropped in all re-draft leagues.
Jan 23 - 1:16 AM

Montrezl Harrell (shoulder) will play against the Bucks on Friday.

He's played poorly lately, so it'll be interesting to see where he fits in for tonight. Plus, Josh Smith's arrival could bump him from the rotation.
Jan 22 - 6:55 PM

Montrezl Harrell (right shoulder contusion) participated in the morning shootaround and is questionable to face the Bucks on Friday.

Dwight Howard (ankle) has already been ruled out and Josh Smith's availability is in question, so Harrell could be looking at decent minutes behind Terrence Jones and Clint Capela. Regardless, he still isn't an option in almost any league and the trade for Smith all but solidifies that Harrell is going to be an afterthought in fantasy leagues.
Jan 22 - 12:06 PM

Montrezl Harrell (right shoulder contusion) is being listed as questionable for Friday's game vs. the Bucks.

With Dwight Howard (ankle) already having been ruled out for Friday's game, Clint Capela and Terrence Jones could be forced into heavy minutes Friday night if Harrell isn't able to give it a go. Trevor Ariza would also spend some extended time at the four-spot. We should have another update on Harrell following Friday morning's shootaround.

Montrezl Harrell took advantage of extended minutes during garbage time on Sunday, finishing with 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting, eight rebounds and one assist in 25 minutes.

The rookie also committed four personal fouls and he's not an appealing option outside of dynasty leagues. On a per-36-minute basis, the Louisville product is averaging a modest 11.8 points, 5.6 boards, 1.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.0 blocks.
