Nuggets sign F Jarnell Stokes.
Stokes, last season's D-League MVP, will compete for a job in training camp. He'll have to make an incredibly strong impression to stick around given Denver's frontcourt depth, but he's got plenty of motivation and could draw interest from another club if he doesn't stick with the Nuggets. The Nuggets are expected to invite Jarnell Stokes to training camp.

Stokes made only seven appearances in the NBA last year with the Heat and Grizzlies, but he was named the D-League MVP after averaging 20.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.7 blocks in 29.9 minutes per game. Even if he makes the roster, Stokes won't be fantasy-relevant.

Russian side Lokomotiv Kuban is interested in signing Jarnell Stokes.

He was the MVP of the D-League last season, averaging 20.6 points and 9.3 rebounds. It's surprising that he hasn't received much NBA interest, but he can probably make more money overseas.

Jarnell Stokes will play in summer league in the hopes of hooking on with an NBA team.

The D-League's Most Valuable Player will attempt to showcase his talents at summer league. Stokes is still just 22 years old and has upside, but we'll have to wait and see if he's able to play his way onto a roster before investing any fantasy stock in him.
Jun 7 - 10:41 AM

Jarnell Stokes has won the D-League's Most Valuable Player Award.

Stokes won the award playing with the Sioux Falls Skyforce and should get a shot to make the Heat's roster during training camp. Still just 22 years old, Stokes has some upside, but he's not on the radar in most fantasy leagues just yet.
Apr 14 - 1:23 PM

Jarnell Stokes has returned to playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the D-League.

Despite returning to Miami's D-League team, Stokes isn't eligible to hook back up with Miami since the Heat traded him at the deadline.
Feb 29 - 2:36 PM

The Pelicans waived Jarnell Stokes on Friday.

They needed to clear up a roster spot in order to sign Bryce Dejean-Jones. We will let you know where Stokes ends up, but he likely won't be a fantasy asset unless he lands in an ideal situation.
Feb 19 - 11:12 AM

The Heat have traded Jarnell Stokes to the Pelicans.

It's basically just a salary dump for the Heat as they will only receive a highly-protected second-round pick from the Pelicans -- they're kicking in $700,000 as a sweetener, and will save about $2 million in luxury tax. Stokes was never able to crack the rotation in Miami, but that could change in New Orleans, especially if they end up dealing Ryan Anderson at the deadline. For now, owners in deeper leagues can simply keep Stokes on their radar.
Feb 18 - 12:04 PM

The Heat are reportedly willing to trade Jarnell Stokes for a second round pick.

Stokes has only made a handful of brief appearances for Miami and he has spent the majority of his time in the D-League, so the Heat are simply looking to open up a roster spot. Unless Stokes is traded to an ideal situation, he would likely be looking at a very limited role. He's not worth stashing at this point.
Feb 12 - 10:53 AM

Jarnell Stokes has been assigned to Miami's D-League affiliate.

He's going down for the D-League All-Star game. Stokes is not a fantasy option in any format.
Feb 10 - 5:23 PM

The Heat have recalled Jarnell Stokes from the D-League.

He will be available to play against the Clippers on Sunday, but he likely won't touch the floor. Leave him on the wire.
Feb 7 - 11:47 AM

He's played in just four games for the Heat this season, leave him on the wire.
Feb 4 - 5:20 PM

Jarnell Stokes (illness) is available for Tuesday's game against the Bucks.

While the Heat are a bit short-handed dude to injuries, Stokes won't see enough run on Tuesday (or going forward) to warrant a roster spot in any fantasy league.
Jan 19 - 11:41 AM

The Heat have recalled Jarnell Stokes from the D-League.

Chris Andersen has been sidelined by a knee issue, so Stokes is the next man up. His role will be very limited at best, so he's not on the fantasy radar.
Jan 16 - 12:31 PM

Heat assign F Jarnell Stokes to the D-League.

Stokes recently earned praise from Erik Spoelstra, but it's not going to result in a place in Miami's rotation anytime soon.
