Jordan Clarkson scored 20 points with six rebounds, five assists, two steals and no turnovers in 32 minutes against the 76ers on Wednesday.
Make that two games in a row Clarkson has played the fourth and Lonzo Ball has been benched. Clarkson is playing extremely well and is pushing the ball like coach Luke Walton wants. Ball has to get it going at some point, but Clarkson should be owned in standard leagues until further notice. Nov 16 - 1:29 AM

Jordan Clarkson scored 25 points with three rebounds, three assists, one steal, three 3-pointers and no turnovers in 26 minutes against the Suns on Monday.

He seems to have found his shot, posting a 54.5 eFG% on his jumpers this season and is up to 40.9 percent from deep. That's up from his 45.6 eFG% and 32.9 percent from deep from last year, and his confidence from the outside is part of the reason he has a 29.7 usage rate this season. Clarkson may not be able to keep it up all year, but he should be owned in standard leagues.
Nov 14 - 12:05 AM

Jordan Clarkson posted 15 points (6-of-10 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs) with five assists, four rebounds, two steals and one 3-pointer in just 20 minutes on Sunday.

Opposing two-guards came in shooting a mere 36.8 percent vs. Memphis this season, and the entirety of the Grizzlies' second-unit has been in the top-15 for individual defensive rating. Clarkson continued to roll along despite the poor matchup, and in three November games he's averaging 16.0 points on 58.1 percent shooting, 3.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.3 steals. He's developing nicely as a sixth-man and is worth a hold outside of shallow leagues.
Nov 6 - 12:34 AM

Jordan Clarkson hit 7-of-12 from the floor to finish with 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and just one turnover in 20 minutes off the bench Saturday at Utah.

Clarkson was tremendously efficient in this one, making up for subpar shooting nights in his previous two outings. It shouldn't take much for him to unseat Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in the starting five, especially if KCP continues to struggle with his shot. Clarkson isn't a bad fantasy option for his scoring ability, as well as his contributions on 3-pointers, steals and assists.
Oct 29 - 1:49 AM

Jordan Clarkson cooled off on Wednesday with eight points, four assists, one rebound and one steal in 17 minutes vs. the Wizards.

Clarkson was coming off a 24-point game vs. the Pelicans. Inconsistency is a given for the backup scoring guard, but he's a solid hold for his ability to contribute points, 3-pointers, steals and FT percentages, with a dollop of assists.
Oct 26 - 2:38 AM

Jordan Clarkson made 10-of-18 shots with three 3-pointers on Sunday, finishing a loss to the Pelicans with 24 points, five assists and two turnovers.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope returned from his suspension tonight, but Clarkson's 26 minutes were the most he's logged in three games. He scored 11 points during a 29-5 run that erased a daunting deficit in the second half, and is a decent situational DFS play. In most category leagues, though, the lack of supporting stats really caps his value.
Oct 23 - 12:57 AM

Jordan Clarkson scored 17 points with two rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointers in 17 minutes against the Suns on Friday.

He's played somewhat well in his first two games, but it would appear coach Luke Walton may not trust him on the defensive end. Corey Brewer closed this one out and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will be back, so Clarkson's fantasy owners may want to start thinking about adding someone else despite his 17.5 points per game.
Oct 21 - 3:02 AM

Jordan Clarkson scored 18 points with two rebounds, two assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 23 minutes against the Clippers on Thursday.

He was 7-of-16 from the field and only made one shot at the rim, so that's not what coach Luke Walton wants. Clarkson also didn't get any time as a point guard in this game, so it'll be interesting to see how Kentavious Caldwell-Pope coming back affects him. While this line was solid, we'd have to see how he does with KCP before suggesting him as an add.
Oct 20 - 1:36 AM

Coach Luke Walton said he would like to draw up more plays for Jordan Clarkson and limit him dribbling the ball in halfcourt sets.

Walton said he doesn't want his guys dribbling 6-8 times, and he'll look to get his guys free on pin-down screens or other sets. Clarkson is likely going to have to play a ton in the first two games with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope suspended, so he may get a short-term boost in DFS or season-long leagues.
Oct 14 - 5:10 PM

Jordan Clarkson scored 14 points with two rebounds, two assists and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes against the Wolves on Saturday.

He was attacking like he usually does and the early signs are he'll be playing mostly shooting guard. The Lakers are hoping Clarkson can make a bid for Sixth Man of the Year, but the Lakers may have more depth in the second unit than they thought with how well Kyle Kuzma played. Clarkson is only a late-round option.
Oct 1 - 12:34 AM

Jordan Clarkson showed up at camp stronger and with an improvement to his jump shot.

The Lakers are hoping Clarkson can be a Sixth Man of the Year candidate, as well. His opportunity isn't as great as it was last year with Lonzo Ball and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in the mix, so Clarkson probably won't be able to match his 29.2 minutes per game from last season.
Sep 27 - 4:36 PM

Magic Johnson, L.A.'s president of basketball operations, said that Jordan Clarkson will play a "major role" for the Lakers next season.

Clarkson will come off the bench behind Lonzo Ball and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, but Magic still has very high praise and lofty expectations. "We felt we put some weapons around (Clarkson) that would even make his game better. I have challenged him because I want him to be Sixth Man of the Year, so I’ve challenged him to play like that," said Johnson. "I think he has the potential, the talent, he’s worked hard this summer."
Aug 2 - 6:51 PM

The Lakers are reportedly "confident" that they could move Jordan Clarkson "if needed" to clear some cap space in 2018.

The Lakers are looking to make a splash during free agency in 2018 when guys such as LeBron James, DeMarcus Cousins, Paul George, etc. will become available, and there are some scenarios that exist where the Lakers could entertain the idea of bringing in two max-level free agents next season. The free agency rumors that come out of LA are always fantastical, but the reality is that the Lakers have been swinging and missing on the big name free agents for the past eight years now.
Aug 1 - 5:25 PM

Back in June, the Lakers offered Jordan Clarkson or Julius Randle and their No. 27 and 28 picks to the Pacers for Paul George, according to the Orange County Register.

Indiana obviously rejected the offer, opting instead to trade George to OKC for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis. Although Clarkson remains with the Lakers, his role will change next season. L.A. traded away D’Angelo Russell, but then drafted Lonzo Ball and signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Clarkson can back up both Ball and KCP, but may have a hard time matching the 29.2 minutes per game he averaged last season, which diminishes his fantasy value.
Jul 28 - 10:13 AM

Jordan Clarkson said he would adjust to any new situation, regardless of who the Lakers draft with the No. 2 pick.

If the Lakers draft a guard, as expected, L.A.'s backcourt will be crowded. Earlier this month, there were rumors that the Lakers were "actively seeking out offers" for Clarkson to preemptively alleviate a glut of guards. Clarkson is not looking to make waves. "If we go anywhere in the draft, it’s going to be good for us," Clarkson said. However, he did admit that the changing responsibilities have been difficult for him. "It’s tough being able to shift your mind during the years and change roles."
