Johnny O'Bryant (ankle) has been ruled out of Wednesday's game vs. Orlando.
O'Bryant has missed each of the Hornets last five games due to the ankle sprain. Minimal fantasy impact here, as O'Bryant saw only limited minutes even when he was 100 percent healthy Mar 21 - 1:59 PM

Date:

Johnny O'Bryant (right ankle sprain) is listed as out for Saturday's game vs. the Wizards.

O'Bryant has missed four straight games due to the ankle sprain. He was only on the fringes of the Hornets rotation when healthy, so he should be left on waivers.

The Hornets have signed Johnny O'Bryant to a multi-year deal.

Terms of the deal haven't been released, but he was likely signed for the remainder of the season with some partial guarantees in future seasons. He may not be in the rotation going forward since the Hornets are healthy in the frontcourt, so leave JOB on the wire.

Mar 16 - 2:09 PM

Johnny O'Bryant is expected to sign with the Hornets for the remainder of the season.

His two 10-day contracts are up and the Hornets don't have much depth up front, so JOB will keep his job. With Frank Kaminsky healthy again, he likely won't see more than a handful of minutes going forward.
Mar 16 - 10:05 AM

Johnny O'Bryant (ankle) didn't play vs. the Pacers on Wednesday.

Cody Zeller and Frank Kaminsky are both healthy so it's possible O'Bryant just isn't in the rotation going forward. We'll leave him on the injury report as a precaution, but it helps that Charlotte doesn't play again until Saturday.
Mar 15 - 10:12 PM

Johnny O'Bryant (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup with the Bulls.

O'Bryant has suited up for a total of four games for Charlotte this season, he has no fantasy value.
Mar 12 - 2:38 PM

Johnny O'Bryant (ankle) will not play again on Saturday against the Pelicans.

That means the Pelicans may actually have to use Christian Wood as a power forward to guard Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins. Wood isn't a fantasy option and chances are O'Bryant won't be signed when his 10-day deal ends next week.
Mar 11 - 5:07 PM

Johnny O'Bryant (ankle) will not play on Friday against the Magic.

He sprained his ankle on Wednesday and did not return. O'Bryant was on his second 10-day deal, so this injury could mean he's done with the Hornets this week. We could see some Christian Wood, who was the only Hornet on Wednesday to log center minutes besides JOB and Cody Zeller.
Mar 9 - 3:01 PM

Johnny O'Bryant (right ankle sprain) will not return on Wednesday.

The Hornets ruled him out about 30 minutes after his injury in real time. With O'Bryant out, the Hornets could go smaller more often or they could look to Christian Wood. Fantasy owners can ignore this news outside of Cody Zeller possibly getting more minutes.
Mar 8 - 8:55 PM

Johnny O'Bryant (ankle) went to the locker room in the second quarter on Wednesday.

He is being called questionable to return with an ankle sprain. If O'Bryant can't return, we'll likely see some Christian Wood behind Cody Zeller.
Mar 8 - 8:20 PM

Johnny O'Bryant has signed a second 10-day deal with the Hornets.

With Frank Kaminsky (shoulder) expected to miss 10-14 days, O'Bryant could remain in the rotation going forward behind Cody Zeller. He scored a season-high 15 points with six rebounds and one 3-pointer in 15 minutes against the Nuggets on Saturday, but fantasy owners can leave him on the wire in most leagues unless he has a similar performance on Monday vs. the Pacers.

Mar 6 - 10:34 AM

Johnny O'Bryant will sign a second 10-day contract with the Hornets on Monday according to Chris Haynes of ESPN.

O'Bryant scored a season-high 15 points with six rebounds and one 3-pointer in 15 minutes against the Nuggets on Saturday, so the Hornets will reward him with another deal. If we learn that Frank Kaminsky will miss more time with his shoulder injury, O'Bryant could carve out a decent role off the bench. He's only on the radar in very deep leagues.
Mar 5 - 11:20 AM

Johnny O'Bryant scored a season-high 15 points with six rebounds and one 3-pointer in 15 minutes against the Nuggets on Saturday.

Revenge game? After the Nuggets let him go last month, he was very good and has likely earned a second 10-day deal. If Frank Kaminsky is out for a long time, O'Bryant could be the fill in with minutes in the teens behind Cody Zeller. He's only worth a look in super deep leagues, of course.
Mar 5 - 12:04 AM

The Hornets signed F/C Johnny O'Bryant to a 10-day deal.

The Hornets are in dire straits for a big man with Miles Plumlee and Cody Zeller currently on the shelf. Frank Kaminsky should still be very busy and is worth owning in standard leagues. O'Bryant may get double-digit minutes, but doesn't have value in most leagues.

Feb 24 - 4:10 PM

Johnny O'Bryant re-joined the Northern Arizona Suns of the D-League after his 10-day contract with the Nuggets ended.

O'Bryant had signed two consecutive 10-day contracts with Denver. He appeared in a total of seven games, scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. He should obviously be left on waiver wires in all leagues.
