Delon Wright (groin) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice and is questionable to play Friday vs. the Celtics.
Wright is making progress, but considering he still hasn't gone through any full-contact, 5-on-5 work, we wouldn't expect to see him take the floor on Friday night. Fred VanVleet should be able to flirt with minutes in the mid-20s while Wright is out. Oct 18 - 1:07 PM

Delon Wright (groin) is out against the Cavs on Wednesday.

His injury last week did not look good as he limped to the locker room, and it was even a small surprise he wasn't ruled out. Wright has been a staple in the second unit and mostly slotted in as the backup SG while the team was healthy, so his absence means a few more chances for Fred VanVleet and Norman Powell.

Delon Wright (strained left adductor) remains questionable to play in Wednesday's season opener against the Cavs.

The Raptors were initially calling Wright's injury a strained thigh, but have now changed it to an adductor issue, which is worse. Considering Wright has yet to get in a full practice since sustaining the injury, we doubt he'll play on Wednesday. That should translate to a few more minutes for Fred VanVleet.
Oct 16 - 2:24 PM

Delon Wright (strained left thigh) is questionable for opening night on Wednesday vs. Cleveland.

Since picking up the injury on Oct. 10, Wright has yet to practice and sat out of Monday's session as well. Coach Nick Nurse said on Sunday that he didn't think the injury was serious, so we will list him as day-to-day. Look for Fred VanVleet to pick up some extra minutes if Wright is unable to play.

Delon Wright (strained left thigh) did not practice on Sunday.

Wright missed the Raptors final preseason game on Thursday after getting hurt in their game on Wednesday. Coach Nick Nurse said they will know more tomorrow, but don't think it's a serious injury that will cost him much time. Fred VanVleet figures to pick up more minutes in his absence. Wright is still worth a look in the late-rounds.
Oct 14 - 1:51 PM

Delon Wright (strained left thigh) didn't travel with the Raptors for Thursday's game vs. New Orleans.

Wright got hurt on Wednesday but said afterward that he "doesn't think it is anything serious." That leaves us optimistic that he'll play on opening night, but with Fred VanVleet resting there will be plenty of run for Lorenzo Brown on Thursday.
Oct 11 - 7:01 PM

Delon Wright has a strained left thigh and will not return on Wednesday.

The team calling it a strain suggests he pulled a muscle here and he did have to limp to the locker room, so hopefully this isn't going to linger. Wright was penciled in to get combo guard minutes again this year, but the team may have to count on Fred VanVleet a little more while Wright recovers.
Oct 10 - 9:12 PM

Delon Wright drew the start at point guard in Friday's preseason game vs. Melbourne United, scoring 15 points (5-of-7 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs) with six rebounds, five assists, one steal and three triples in 26 minutes.

It obviously wasn't the strongest opponent and the Raptors were without Kyle Lowry, Kawhi Leonard, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and C.J. Miles. Wright is going to be an important piece of the puzzle for Toronto's second unit this season and could offer late-round value if he plays at least 20 minutes a night for his upside in dimes and defensive stats.
Oct 5 - 9:27 PM

Delon Wright, Danny Green, Norman Powell, Pascal Siakam and Serge Ibaka are listed as the starters for Friday.

In case you missed it, Kyle Lowry, Kawhi Leonard, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and C.J. Miles are out tonight. Wright should get some heavy minutes and we'll see ow much upside Siakam offers in this outing.
Oct 5 - 5:31 PM

Raptors head coach Nick Nurse expects to use a 10-12 man rotation this season.

"If guys deserve to play we're going to play as many as we can," Nurse added. The Raptors have a trio of talented point guards in Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet and Delon Wright, but we're going to see a lot of two-PG lineups this season. Wright has a chance to play enough minutes to be relevant in standard leagues and has a fantasy-friendly game -- he averaged 8.0 points, 2.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds, 0.8 triples, 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks in about 20 minutes last season.
Sep 24 - 10:26 AM

Delon Wright made 6-of-10 FGs and 4-of-4 FTs to score 18 points on Wednesday, adding five rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block in 26 minutes.

Wright connected on both of his 3-point attempts and he was truly a game-changer tonight, playing his best during the Raptors' fourth-quarter surge. Fred VanVleet (shoulder) was out again and his optimism hasn't translated to minutes in the first round, with coach Dwane Casey citing concerns from the Raptors' training staff. The Raptors badly miss VanVleet's leadership with the second unit, but Wright has done his best to pick up the slack and he's routinely hitting value in playoff DFS leagues.
Apr 25 - 10:03 PM

Delon Wright had one of the best games of his career in 25 minutes off the bench during a win over the Wizards on Saturday, scoring 18 points with one rebound, four assists, three steals, one block and three 3-pointers.

Obviously the Raptors did not miss Fred VanVleet (shoulder) today. Wright closed this game out and he was on John Wall for basically the entire fourth quarter, and he hit multiple clutch shots to help the Raptors pull away. VanVleet is likely going to play in Game 2, but Wright should still be able to find minutes with play like this. The Delon hive certainly will grow after this outstanding showing in what was really his first real chance at playoff minutes.
Apr 14 - 8:17 PM

Delon Wright scored 12 points (3-of-7 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs) with six rebounds, four assists, two steals and two triples in Sunday's win over the Magic.

The Raptors rested DeMar DeRozan tonight, so it's not a surprise to see Wright post a solid line -- the last time DeRozan missed a game, Wright had 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 28 minutes. It's possible the Raptors rest more veterans on Monday and Kyle Lowry would be an obvious candidate, so Wright could be in line for another nice game.
Apr 8 - 8:34 PM

Delon Wright flirted with a triple-double during Wednesday's 96-78 win over Boston, tallying eight points, nine rebounds, eight assists, two steals, two blocks and two turnovers in 27 minutes.

Wright's minutes are too inconsistent to trust him in standard 12-team leagues, but when he does find playing time in the mid-20s, this is the sort of production he's capable of offering. Fred VanVleet was also solid, finishing with 15 points, three triples, three boards, four dimes and zero turnovers in 24 minutes off the bench, and he's been the better reserve to own between these two as his minutes are more consistent.
Apr 5 - 12:04 AM

Delon Wright hit 3-of-6 shots for 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 28 minutes of Tuesday's 93-86 win over the Magic.

DeMar DeRozan sat this one out and Kyle Lowry went off, but only Serge Ibaka, Wright and Norman Powell managed to join Lowry in double-digit scoring. Fred VanVleet was out again with his hand injury and as long as that's the case, Wright looks like a solid fantasy option in most leagues.
