T.J. McConnell scored a season-high 16 points on Saturday, adding three rebounds, seven assists, one block, and one steal in a season-high 34 minutes against Memphis.
He gained the most in the absence of the many Sixers would couldn't play in this game. He's barely been seeing court time and figures to see even less moving forward with the acquisition of Jimmy Butler and the Sixers' need to surround him with shooters. Hopefully you had him in your lineup tonight! Nov 10 - 11:00 PM

T.J. McConnell saw only five minutes against the Bucks on Wednesday.

McConnell did not play much with Ben Simmons back from injury. Coach Brett Brown also chose to go with Markelle Fultz more in this one, leaving T.J. out of the fold. McConnell isn't worth owning in most leagues.
Oct 25 - 12:44 AM

T.J. McConnell scored 10 points with eight assists, three rebounds and one steal in 32 minutes against the Pistons on Tuesday.

With Ben Simmons (back) out, the 76ers considered starting McConnell, but it didn't matter because he closed the fourth quarter and overtime over Markelle Fultz and played 11 more minutes. McConnell is a Brett Brown favorite and could have some low-end value if Simmons misses additional time. If Simmons is a go for Wednesday vs. Milwaukee, McConnell can be left on the wire.
Oct 23 - 10:06 PM

Brett Brown is debating whether to start T.J. McConnell or Markelle Fultz at point guard for Tuesday's game against the Pistons, with Ben Simmons (back) unavailable.

Whether he starts or not, McConnell should be good for minutes in the mid-20s with Simmons out for the night, so he might be someone to consider streaming in deep leagues for those seeking to bolster the assist category. It's worth noting that Brown didn't mention J.J. Redick when discussing the lineup change, so if McConnell does start, it sounds like Fultz will remain at the two-spot.
Oct 23 - 5:50 PM

T.J. McConnell played 25 minutes on Saturday, scoring eight points (4-of-7 FGs) with four rebounds and four assists against the Magic.

McConnell saw an increase in minutes on Saturday because Ben Simmons left the game in the first quarter with back tightness. TJ's motor never runs empty and he was all of the place against the Magic, helping the Sixers come back to win. If Simmons were to miss any time, McConnell will likely benefit the most. He'd make for a nice stream option and DFS play in that situation.
Oct 20 - 10:30 PM

The 76ers reportedly turned down a trade offer from the Suns for T.J. McConnell.

According to the report, the Suns offered a second-round pick, but the 76ers weren't interested in the slightest. McConnell played 22 minutes vs. the Celtics on Tuesday and took some minutes from a struggling Markelle Fultz in the second half. He finished with four points, three assists and a rebound, but isn't going to have much value in Philly while the team is healthy. If the Suns improve their offer, then McConnell would certainly be worth monitoring due to Phoenix's lack of PG depth.
Oct 16 - 11:29 PM

Coach Brett Brown said that T.J. McConnell is the most likely guy to pick up minutes if Mike Muscala (ankle) were to miss the season opener on Tuesday.

McConnell's role dimished towards the end of last season with the Sixers looking to give more time for Markelle Fultz. McConnell helped lead the Sixers to a win against the Celtics in the playoffs with the team struggling. While McConnell doesn't have much season-long value, he could be worth a play in DFS on Tuesday.
Oct 13 - 6:34 PM

T.J. McConnell scored six points with one rebound, two assists and two steals in 12 minutes on Friday.

The 76ers made it very clear they want to give Markelle Fultz every opportunity this preseason, so that should likely affect McConnell's chances at playing time. Fultz is also expected to get a crack at some minutes as the lone PG, as well.
Sep 28 - 9:33 PM

Sixers GM Bryan Colangelo said that the team will exercise T.J. McConnell's team option for the 2018-19 season.

This was an easy decision for Philadelphia, as McConnell will earn just $1.6 million next season. He averaged 6.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.2 steals in 22.4 minutes in 2017-18. He also started the final two games of their playoff series vs. Boston. However, if Markelle Fultz is healthy and active next season, T.J. will likely see his playing time diminish dramatically.
May 11 - 12:03 PM

T.J. McConnell earned another start during Philly's Game 5 defeat on Wednesday, scoring nine points on 4-of-7 shooting with six assists, five rebounds and two steals.

McConnell got stuck defending Jayson Tatum repeatedly in the first half and Boston's rising star took full advantage, but otherwise Philly's 26-year-old guard was unimpeachable. He committed just one turnover in 38 minutes and helped limit Terry Rozier to 17 points on 4-of-15 shooting, finishing his postseason on a high note. It's a foregone conclusion that Philly will pick up their $1.6 million team option to retain McConnell for 2018-19.
May 9 - 11:41 PM

T.J. McConnell scored a career-high 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting and added seven rebounds and five assists in 39 minutes in the Sixers 103-92 Game 4 win over the Celtics on Monday.

He got his first start of the postseason and played his most minutes of the year in the season-extending win. Brett Brown has decided to keep McConnell in the starting lineup for Game 5. With Robert Covington continuing to struggle and the Sixers still in a must-win situation this doesn't come as a surprise.
May 7 - 8:56 PM

T.J. McConnell will replace Robert Covington in the starting lineup for Monday's Game 4 in Boston.

The 76ers have dropped three in a row, so Brett Brown will tweak his starting five in hopes of avoiding a sweep. Joining McConnell in the starting group will be Ben Simmons, J.J. Redick, Dario Saric and Joel Embiid. Covington played very poorly in Games 1 and 2, so he might be on a short leash tonight with Philly's season on the line.

T.J. McConnell scored eight points with one rebound, five assists and two steals in 17 minutes against the Celtics on Thursday.

He earned plenty of Ben Simmons' minutes in the third and fourth quarters, but coach Brett Brown went back to Simmons to close. In hindsight, it may have been a bad idea because of the 76ers struggling down the stretch. McConnell will be in the rotation, but he may not hit this minute total in Game 3.
May 3 - 11:11 PM

T.J. McConnell had 10 points, six assists, four rebounds and a game-high four steals in 29 minutes vs. the Nets on Sunday.

McConnell made 5-of-9 shots without attempting any free throws or 3-pointers. The steals highlight his fantasy cache for category-based owners. With 2.7 steals per 48 minutes, McConnell ranks 11th among qualifying players, behind guys like Victor Oladipo, Chris Paul, Eric Bledsoe, Paul George and Kris Dunn.
Mar 11 - 11:21 PM

T.J. McConnell recorded the first triple-double of his career in Monday's 109-92 win over the Knicks, nothing 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

What a night for McConnell. He matched his career-high with six steals and hit 5-of-11 shots in 37 minutes, and when he collected his final rebound with about a minute left the home crowd just erupted. He became the first Philadelphia player to ever post a triple-double off the bench and he's firmly on the radar as a pickup since the 76ers have four more games in Weeks 18 and 19 combined (one more this week and three next week). The addition of Marco Belinelli could hurt his value a bit, though.
