The Sixers will not re-sign veteran power forward Donyell Marshall.
Marshall is still wants to play a 16th NBA season, but it's looking like his time may be up. The 3-point specialist is interested in an NBA broadcasting career. The Sixers aren't expected to fill another spot on their roster until training camp. Thu, Aug 6, 2009 08:37:00 AM

Donyell Marshall had 12 points and three 3-pointers in 20 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Suns.

He totaled 19 points and six treys in his previous two games and is suddenly becoming relevant. In the process, he's ruined any value Marreese Speights had. Speights played just four minutes and failed to score on Wednesday.

Donyell Marshall hit 3-of-6 shots and two 3-pointers for eight points, three rebounds and a block in Friday's win over the Pistons.

He hit a 3-pointer with 35 seconds left for the win. You'll hear his name a lot in the televised highlights, but don't get fooled into thinking he'll have fantasy value this season.

Donyell Marshall hit five treys for 15 points and four rebounds in Saturday's exhibition loss to Cleveland.

Don't read anything into this. Marshall is more of a coach than a player at this point and should be nothing more than a role player for the Sixers this season.

The 76ers and free agent forward Donyell Marshall have agreed on a minimum salary contract. The deal should be finalized in the next few days.

Marshall was recently waived by Oklahoma City, days after being acquired in a trade with the Cavaliers. He gives Philly more veteran leadership, but his skills have declined and he is now primarily a (mediocre) spot-up three-point shooter.

Oklahoma City waived 15-year veteran Donyell Marshall on Wednesday.

Marshall will be on waivers for 48 hours, but he is owed $5.9 million next season and no team is likely to claim him. Once he clears waivers he can sign with anyone at a negotiated salary, a much more likely scenario. Oklahoma City still has to pay him $5.9 million, but now they can pay him over much longer period of time.

He has no fantasy value.

On Friday, Sonics coach P.J. Carlesimo clarified his spat with Donyell Marshall, saying his removal from Wednesday's game was "a non-issue."

Carlesimo called Marshall out for a defensive lapse, but the lack of playing time was due to the players ahead of Marshall in the rotation.

Newly acquired Donyell Marshall clashed with Sonics coach P.J. Carlesimo after being called out for a defensive lapse on Wednesday.

"As a player, I'm going to get upset," Marshall said after the game. "But we've been friends for a long time...It's over and done with and we'll laugh and joke as soon as we get on the plane." Marshall failed to score in less than five minutes, and won't have value this season.

Donyell Marshall made his Sonics' debut after a bout with the flu and failed to score.

He played less than two minutes and doesn't have much of a shot at offering fantasy value again.

One of the newest Sonics, Donyell Marshall reported to KeyArena with a 102-degree fever on Sunday, and will not play. He is questionable for Tuesday's game.

Marshall won't have much value beyond the occasional three-pointer and shouldn't be owned in any leagues.

The Cavaliers traded Donyell Marshall and Ira Newble to the Supersonics on Thursday, part of the deal that brought Delonte West and Wally Szczerbiak to Cleveland.

The Sonics also get Adrian Griffin from the Bulls, but their new acquisitions are uninspiring and shouldn't help fantasy owners this season.

Donyell Marshall started for the Cavaliers on Thursday, finishing with six points and five rebounds in 23 minutes.

Marshall has barely played this season, missing time with wrist and finger injuries, but was pressed into starting duty with both Anderson Varejao and Drew Gooden unavailable. Don't expect Marshall to have any fantasy value this season, though he could be a cheap source of threes in deep leagues.

Donyell Marshall (wrist, finger) was active for the Cavaliers on Friday, for the first time since November 2nd.

''It's hard to find minutes for [Marshall] right now,'' Brown said. Don't give him a second thought in fantasy leagues.

Cavaliers' forward Donyell Marshall has been cleared for full practice, after months of inactivity with wrist and finger injuries.

Cedric Simmons (dislocated finger) also returned to the Cavaliers' practice, giving them all 15 players available for the first time all season. Coach Mike Brown said that he'll probably keep Marshall and Simmons on the inactive list at first, and neither player deserves a spot on fantasy rosters.
