The Bobcats waived veteran guard Jeff McInnis on Friday.
Coach Sam Vincent got into a heated exchange last month with McInnis, who started 26 games for Charlotte this season, but there was no reason given for the move. This may mean increases in playing time for recent addition Earl Boykins as well as Matt Carroll, but neither may warrant a pickup. Keep an eye on the Bobcats' backcourt for now. Jeff McInnis returned to action on Sunday, contributing four points, four rebounds and five assists in 32 minutes off the bench.

McInnis got extra minutes because Gerald Wallace was out and fill-in starter Jared Dudley was largely ineffective. Don't expect much from McInnis, though it's worth noting that he got more minutes than Earl Boykins (four points on 1-of-5 shooting in 22 ).

Jeff McInnis missed Friday's game with the flu.

He's day-to-day, but has no fantasy value since being passed on the depth chart by Earl Boykins. Boykins had his best game as a member of the Bobcats tonight with 13 points, two assists and a 3-pointer.

Bobcats' coach Sam Vincent says that he plans on using Jeff McInnis as the team's third point guard, behind Raymond Felton and Earl Boykins.

Vincent said that he's trying to get enough minutes for Boykins, but we can think of a dozen more reasons why McInnis doesn't deserve extended playing time. Even in deep leagues, it's time to drop him.

Jeff McInnis continues to start in the Bobcats backcourt, but has struggled mightily with his offense this season. He finished Saturday's win over the Grizzlies with two points on 1-of-6 shooting.

McInnis has scored double-figure points only twice this season, and doesn't do enough in other categories to warrant much fantasy notice, despite his starting status.

Jeff McInnis (quadriceps) returned from a one-game absence Monday against the Nuggets and had four points, four rebounds and three assists.

Coach Sam Vincent continues to utilize McInnis in the starting lineup at shooting guard, but the veteran's numbers haven't really improved much since the promotion. He's scored in double figures in just two of his 36 games this season.

Jeff McInnis participated in Monday's shootaround and, along with Raymond Felton, should be back in action tonight against the Nuggets.

He's been out with a quad injury but it sounds like Charlotte should have both point guards availabe tonight.

Jeff McInnis, like fellow Bobcats' guard Raymond Felton, is hopeful that he will be able to play against the Nuggets on Monday, after he strained his quadriceps against the Cavaliers last Friday.

"It's a little tight so we decided to just rest it," McInnis said of the decision not to play against the Pistons on Saturday. "If I go out and pull it, I could miss four-six weeks. I'm getting a little older, so I've got to be careful with injuries." McInnis is still questionable and, given his iffy fantasy value, it's safest to keep him sidelined until we've seen him play a game or two.

Jeff McInnis strained his right quadriceps muscle during the Bobcats’ loss to the Cavaliers on Friday, and is questionable for Saturday’s game.

With Raymond Felton nursing a sprained ankle, McInnis will play a bigger role, should he be able to suit up. McInnis already aggravated the injury by returning to last night’s game, so more likely both he and Felton sit out on Saturday, while Derek Anderson is asked to assume point guard duties.

Jeff McInnis had a season-high 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting as the Bobcats lost their 11th straight game on the road on Friday.

He has hit double figures in just two games this season, the last one coming back on Nov. 6. He might be worth owning in deep leagues, but it's unknown how long he'll stay in the starting lineup. He added five dimes and a steal tonight.

Jeff McInnis is getting another start at shooting guard for the Bobcats Monday afternoon against Indiana.

Nazr Mohammed is coming off the bench for the second straight contest. Coach Sam Vincent made this move to help Raymond Felton in the backcourt, so the Bobcats could have two floor generals out there. Mohammed should still see decent minutes, but might take a slight hit in fantasy value compared to his strong first week with his new team.

Jeff McInnis cracked the Bobcats' starting lineup on Saturday night, as part of a small lineup featuring Emeka Okafor at center. He finished a loss to the Magic with three points on 1-of-6 shooting, two rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes.

Not exactly the numbers you want to see from your starting shooting guard, but it remains to be seen whether this was a matchup-oriented lineup change, or a permanent move. Nazr Mohammed came off the bench, and his owners have to hope that this is a temporary arrangement, because his value will take a hit if he remains a reserve.

Jeff McInnis returned from a foot injury and had two points and two assists in Wednesday's loss.

He has no fantasy value as long as Raymond Felton is healthy.

Jeff McInnis left Saturday's game against Milwaukee with a left foot injury late in the third quarter and did not return.

With McInnis sidelined, Derek Anderson got a few minutes off the bench tonight. McInnis will be evaluated further this weekend - we're calling him day-to-day now.

Jeff McInnis was just 1-of-6 for two points, two assists and five turnovers in a rare start for the Bobcats on Wednesday.

He started at point guard with Raymond Felton sidelined, and will probably get another one on Friday. Then again, the Cats may rush Felton back after getting blown out of the gym in two straight games. McInnis has value in very deep leagues simply because he's the only backup for Felton.
