Tariq Abdul-Wahad apparently upset Mark Cuban, meaning he will probably be waived as late as possible.

Cuban was irked by Abdul-Wahad’s unwillingness to work with him on a buyout situation, so Cuban will wait until the last minute before waiving him, hurting his chances to catch on with another team. He hasn't played since 2002-03.

Tariq Abdul-Wahad and Evan Eschmeyer have been excused from Tuesday's start of Mavericks training camp for medical reasons.

Both players have struggled the last few seasons with knee pain. President of basketball operations Donnie Nelson said Eschmeyer probably would not be able to take part in any of training camp. Abdul-Wahad's situation is less clear. It's quite possible that neither will play in a game for Dallas this season.
