The Wolves are in discussions with Bobby Jackson as a player development coach.
He joined the Kings coaching staff after the NBA lockout and was an assistant coach, but was not brought back with new coach Mike Malone taking over. Jackson played his college ball at the University of Minnesota and reached the Final Four in 1997. Thu, Aug 29, 2013 10:24:00 AM

Bobby Jackson and former Warriors' coach Keith Smart will join the Sacramento Kings as assistant coaches when the lockout lifts.

Jackson announced the move on his Twitter account, and although the timing is interesting, we wouldn't read into it whatsoever. Both guys should be assets to the young guards currently on the Sacramento roster.

Bobby Jackson announced his retirement from the NBA on Thursday.

Jackson, the former Kings guard and longtime fan favorite, played 12 years and was a key contributor for the Kings between 2000 and 2005, becoming one of the league's best backup point guards. Free agency and his recently broken thumb made the decision to retire a bit easier for Jackson, who is 36.

Filling in for injured Beno Udrih (ankle), Bobby Jackson had 18 points, four 3-pointers, four rebounds, 12 assists and two steals for the Kings on Monday.

This was probably Jackson's best game of the season, but there was no way to see it coming. The Kings wrap up their woeful season vs. the Wolves on Wednesday -- if Udrih is still out, Jackson is probably worth using.

Bobby Jackson scored 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting (2-of-6 from downtown) with three rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 29 minutes off the bench against the Warriors on Sunday.

Jackson saw this much run because Kevin Martin (ankle) was out, and produced this much because of the matchup against the Warriors. If Martin misses time, Jackson could conceivably have value in deeper leagues, but even then owners would be taking a pretty big risk in rostering a guy who has been injured most of the past month.

Bobby Jackson returned to the Kings lineup on Friday after missing the past two games with swelling in his right knee.

Jackson had five points, four assists and two steals in 24 minutes off the bench. He doesn't have much appeal in average leagues, and his return is bad news for owners of Beno Udrih (three points, eight assists in 28 minutes).

Kings guard Bobby Jackson did not play on Tuesday because of soreness and swellinng in his right quad/knee.

"It started hurting after the game [on Sunday]," Jackson said. He is listed as day-to-day and his absence means Francisco Garcia will play more backup PG than usual.

Bobby Jackson returned from his cheek bone injury on Friday and failed to score in 19 minutes.

He was 0-ofr-3 from the floor and handed out three assists, but shouldn't have fantasy value as long as Beno Udrih is healthy.

Coach Kenny Natt told the Sacramento Bee that he doesn't expect Bobby Jackson (fractured cheek bone) to play "until next week or so."

Without B-Jax around, Beno Udrih will continue to see extra run and Will Solomon will get the backup minutes. When Jackson returns, he will not get enough run to make a fantasy impact, nor will he render Udrih irrelevant in fantasy leagues, either.

Bobby Jackson is scheduled to return to action in the near future from a broken cheek bone.

He's to have surgery, but it's been delayed. He'll take away some of Beno Udrih's minutes when he returns, but not enough to make Udrih irrelevant.

Bobby Jackson will have surgery to repair his fractured cheek bone.

That will leave the rest of his season in doubt and should secure the job of Beno Udrih (as long as he's healthy). Will Solomon should also get some extra run as Udrih's primary back up.

Bobby Jackson has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Suns with a broken cheek bone.

He'll be re-evaluated on Monday, while Beno Udrih is expected to return from a foot injury on Sunday.

Kings guard Bobby Jackson is expected to miss Sunday's game after being diagnosed with a fractured left cheek bone.

There's no timetable for Jackson's return, and with Beno Udrih (ankle) doubtful to play, it looks like point guard duties will fall to backup Will Solomon. Solomon had a big game on Friday, but his value hinges on the health of Jackson and Udrih.

Bobby Jackson had 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, a steal and two 3-pointers on 7-of-11 shooting before appearing to leave Friday's game with a head injury.

His injury has not been verified, but it appeared that Will Solomon finished the game after Jackson suffered some sort of head injury. Jackson has been a solid fill-in while Beno Udrih has been hurt, but Solomon could be on the verge of getting some run for the hapless Kings.
Sat, Mar 14, 2009 02:01:00 AM

Bobby Jackson scored 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting with eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals in just 22 minutes against the Nuggets on Sunday.

Jackson has been starting for Beno Udrih, and since we don't know a lot about Udrih's timetable for return yet, B-Jax looks like a good short-term fix for owners needing point guard help. Will Solomon also looked good running the point in limited minutes, and the Kings will likely give him small opportunities to prove himself.
