Vince Carter recovered his shooting stroke in Friday's preseason finale, scoring 13 points on 5-of-8 field goals, including a 3-of-3 mark from downtown.
Vince also had five rebounds and two assists, though his efficient line was marred by five turnovers in just 22 minutes. He projects as a 25-minute player in a sixth-man role this year, which should be enough to keep him on the radar as a late-round value in roto leagues. Oct 24 - 11:15 PM

Date:

Vince Carter hit just 1-of-6 shots for three points, two rebounds, three assists and two blocks on Wednesday.

He played 21 minutes, but didn't do much with them. We were bullish on him coming into camp, but he's struggled throughout most of it. He still has time to turn it around and be a valuable sixth man in Memphis, but for now, he probably belongs on the waiver wire when your draft ends.
Oct 22 - 11:12 PM

Vince Carter played eight minutes during Monday's 108-103 loss to Dallas, scoring four points with two rebounds, one block and one 3-pointer.

He only played six minutes on Friday and hasn't been over 13 in any of his four games. Carter played 24.4 minutes per game in his 81 outings last year, so he'll likely be closer to 20. He's not quite worthy of drafting in standard leagues.
Oct 20 - 11:42 PM

Vince Carter (ankle) got back on the floor on Friday night, but logged just six minutes against Flamengo.

We'll let you know if we hear anything for owners to be concerned about, but there's no reason for Carter to push himself at this time of year. The Grizzlies predictably rolled tonight, with a bountiful box score that owners should disregard for projection purposes.
Oct 17 - 11:57 PM

Vince Carter came off the bench and hit 2-of-3 shots, both 3-pointers, for nine points and one assist on Saturday.

He's been held out with a bum ankle but looked good tonight. He may not start for the Grizzlies, but could have a nice role as the sixth man in Memphis. Once you get to the final round of your draft, he's worth a look.
Oct 11 - 11:17 PM

Vince Carter sat out Wednesday's game while nursing a sore ankle.

He could start for the Grizzlies this season and we like him as a deep sleeper if it happens.
Oct 9 - 1:48 AM

Vince Carter has looked "more active" in recent practices, after being limited by an ankle injury and general soreness during the start of training camp.

He had surgery in May to remove a bone spur in his right ankle, but he's fully recovered and shouldn't have any limitations on opening night. The Grizzlies hope that he'll stretch the court with his 3-point shooting, making up for Mike Miller's departure, while offering a dynamic pick-and-roll option with the second-unit. He was in the conversation for Sixth-Man of the Year last season but fantasy owners shouldn't touch him before the final rounds.
Oct 8 - 1:55 PM

Vince Carter was limited in practice on Wednesday due to a right ankle bone spur.

He had surgery back in May for this issue and the Grizzlies are likely just playing it safe. They have some depth issues at small forward and Tayshaun Prince was one of the worst starters in the league last year, so Carter could make his way onto the fantasy map.
Oct 1 - 3:44 PM

Vince Carter has agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal with the Grizzlies according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

It's fair to wonder when Carter's legs will give out, but he could be a starter in front of Tayshaun Prince, who has been pretty useless over the past couple seasons. It also looks like Mike Miller is on his way out of Memphis and perhaps to Cleveland to go play with LeBron, which is another good sign for Carter this season, if he can stay healthy. He's played in 81 games in each of the last two seasons, so that might not be an issue.

The Mavericks are still confident they can re-sign unrestricted free agent Vince Carter.

Even with the massive three-year, $45 million offer sheet the Mavs just extended to Chandler Parsons, they still think they can bring back Carter. His minutes would obviously take a hit with Parsons playing a ton of minutes at small forward, so VC's fantasy value would go south in his age-37 season.

Talks between the Mavericks and Vince Carter are "trending well," according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas.

There is mutual interest and it seems like only a matter of time before Carter re-signs with the Mavs, but he's also drawn interest from the Heat, Raptors, Thunder and Trail Blazers. He had an excellent season in 2013-14 and was one of the best bench players in the NBA, but at age 37 it's unlikely that he'll get a long contract.
Jul 7 - 12:38 AM

Vince Carter is set to become an unrestricted free agent come July 1, and there are a number of playoff teams expected to make an offer, according to sources.

The Heat, Thunder, Raptors, and Trail Blazers are expected to make their pitches to Carter in addition to the Mavericks. Carter averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 24.4 minutes per game last season, and showed that at 37-years-old he still has the ability to make an impact on a team.

The Raptors are reportedly interested in signing Vince Carter as a free agent this summer.

Carter is coming off a tremendous season at age 37, shooting 39.4 percent from downtown while mounting a legitimate case for Sixth Man of the Year honors. He's reportedly very happy in Dallas and the Mavs have the resources to keep him in free agency, but a potential return to Canada may be intriguing enough to lure him north.

May 5 - 9:13 AM

Vince Carter hit 10-of-16 shots and a 3-pointer for 28 points, three rebounds, two assists and a block in Wednesday's Game 5 loss to the Spurs.

Carter was fantastic tonight and the Mavs would have been lost without him. Dirk Nowitzki had 26 points and 15 rebounds, and Monta Ellis chipped in with 21 points and six assists. The Mavericks, now down 2-3, will try to keep the series going with a home win on Friday in Game 6.
Apr 30 - 9:56 PM

Vince Carter hit a fadeaway 3-pointer at the buzzer to beat the Spurs 109-108 in Game 3 on Saturday, finishing with 11 points, three boards, one assist and one turnover in 23 minutes.

The shot was more than just half-amazing. The Mavericks had 1.7 seconds left and it allowed Carter to get the ball in the corner, put on a pump fake, then hit a high-arching triple to beat the buzzer. The Mavs have a 2-1 lead and will look build off this win in Game 4 on Monday. This year's NBA Playoffs have been absolutely insane so far and we're only a week in. The video of the shot is attached in the link below.
