Vince Carter came off the bench and hit just 1-of-4 shots for two points in 14 minutes of Tuesday's preseason win over Houston.
He had a dunk embarrassingly blocked by the rim tonight and the writing is on the wall as his career winds down. We see no reason to think about drafting him this season. Oct 7 - 12:16 AM

Vince Carter started the second half against the Clippers on Saturday with five points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and two turnovers.

He looked a little slow out there, especially late in the game. Carter is likely going to play minutes in the 18-24 range, but he's not playing well enough to pick up in most leagues.
Apr 12 - 12:46 AM

Vince Carter scored nine points on 3-of-8 shooting (3-of-6 from deep) with two rebounds, one steal and one block in 25 minutes off the bench on Monday.

Carter might see 25 mpg with these types of numbers for however long Tony Allen (hamstring) is out. Give him a look if you're desperate for threes.
Mar 30 - 11:14 PM

Vince Carter had only five points, one 3-pointer, four rebounds and one steal as a fill-in starter for Tony Allen (hamstring) on Monday.

Carter may earn another start on Monday if Allen isn't ready to suit up, but he's best viewed as temporary value in daily leagues, or in a streaming position for roto and head-to-head owners.
Mar 29 - 9:30 PM

Vince Carter will start in place of Tony Allen (hamstring) on Sunday vs. the Spurs.

It will be Carter's first start this season, but it doesn't necessarily mean he will play big minutes. Carter can be left on the wire in most leagues, while Jeff Green will likely be the primary beneficiary off the bench tonight should be pretty busy on the offensive end.
Mar 29 - 7:01 PM

Vince Carter found the range vs. Detroit, making four 3-pointers in 19 minutes to finish with 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting, three rebounds and one assist.

That's VC's highest scoring total since mid-December, as injuries and limited playing time have combined to hamper his production. Although Carter's return to form is essential for Memphis' second unit, he's nowhere near standard-league relevance.
Mar 17 - 10:15 PM

Vince Carter (foot) got back on the floor for the Grizzlies in a six-minute stint on Friday.

Father Time has caught up with Carter and it would take a quick and formidable hot streak for us to pay him much attention in fantasy leagues.
Mar 7 - 1:40 AM

Vince Carter (foot) is active against the Lakers on Friday.

It's unclear if he's going to play and his minutes won't be too high to begin with. Carter can be left int he wire in most leagues.
Mar 6 - 7:34 PM

Vince Carter (foot) is inactive for Wednesday's game vs. the Rockets.

Carter was questionable for games on Tuesday and Wednesday and he's nearing a return, but the 38-year-old will take his time to avoid any setbacks before the postseason. Even when he's healthy, Carter's limited bench role isn't conducive to fantasy value.
Mar 4 - 7:04 PM

Vince Carter (foot) is listed as questionable to play vs. the Rockets on Wednesday.

Carter has been sidelined since Jan. 29, so the Grizzlies will likely ease him back into action upon his return. That being said, Carter had a very limited role off the bench prior to his injury, so owners in most leagues can monitor him from the waiver wire until further notice.
Mar 4 - 12:11 PM

Vince Carter (foot) will not play against the Jazz on Tuesday.

He has been out since Jan. 29, but the fact that he was considered questionable can be viewed as a good sign. Carter was seen getting up some shots before tip-off, and he is reportedly targeting a return to action this week. We will continue to monitor his progress closely, but given his limited role off the bench, he isn't an option in almost any league.
Mar 3 - 8:11 PM

Vince Carter (foot) is questionable to play against the Jazz on Tuesday.

He has been out since Jan. 29 and he is likely going to be back this week. Considering the amount of complications with foot injuries, the Grizzlies are likely going to take it easy on VC. Additionally, there could be a change coming to the starting lineup on the wing, so fantasy owners should see what happens with Courtney Lee, Jeff Green and Tony Allen.
Mar 2 - 3:02 PM

Vince Carter (foot) is hoping to practice in the next 7-10 days.

He doesn't have a timetable to return and he is likely going to need a few days of practice before he can suit up and play. Fantasy owners can leave him on the wire.
Feb 26 - 1:51 AM

Vince Carter (foot) will not play vs. the Blazers on Sunday.

The 38-year-old veteran remains without a timetable to return, but the Grizzlies have no reason to rush him back. Carter was averaging just 6.0 points in 16.6 minutes per game before suffering the injury, so it's safe to leave him on the wire.
Feb 22 - 1:07 PM

The Grizzlies are optimistic that Vince Carter's torn left foot tendon will heal without surgery, but he remains without a timetable.

"It'll be a while before we see him," said coach Dave Joerger. "There probably won't be an update for a couple of weeks." The Grizzlies would be satisfied if he's back in action for the playoffs and there's no incentive to hang onto the 38-year-old in fantasy leagues.
