According to Ronald Tillery of The Commercial Appeal, there are no indications that the Grizzlies want to part ways with Vince Carter.
Per Tillery, the franchise can still decide whether to keep the future Hall of Famer at $4.2 million for the 2016-17 season or cut him and pay just $2 million. Carter, with his shot-making and basketball IQ, is expected to remain on the roster despite the presence of swingmen D.J. Stephens and Tony Wroten in training camp. Carter, even if he does make the final 15-man roster, will have minimal fantasy value this season. Sep 17 - 11:41 AM

Vince Carter said he will retire when he loses his love of basketball.

Carter has previously said he'd like to play two more seasons and recently added that he'll retire when he loses his love of the game. "I just love to play. It's not out of me yet," Carter said. "When I don't want to play and don't want to put the work in, that's when I step away from the game, but right now I still love it." While the 39-year-old helps the Grizzlies as a veteran off the bench, he can be ignored in standard fantasy leagues.

Vince Carter wants to play two more seasons before he retires.

Carter has previously said he plans on returning to the Grizzlies next season and his two-season plan would have him playing until he's 41 years old. While Vinsanity helps provide Memphis with a veteran presence, he only averaged 6.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.0 three-pointers in 2015-16 and can be ignored in standard fantasy leagues.
Jun 9 - 12:55 PM

Vince Carter said that he plans on returning to the Grizzlies next season.

The 39-year-old veteran still has some gas left in the tank and implied that he isn't thinking about retiring yet. "I plan on coming back. I feel good. My body feels good." Carter had 14 points, three boards, two assists and four 3-pointers in 28 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Spurs, but he will likely have a limited role for the Grizzlies next season if he does decide to keep playing.
Apr 24 - 4:46 PM

In his first postseason start since 2010, Vince Carter posted a team-high 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting with two 3-pointers, three rebounds, two assists and one block in just 19 minutes.

VC was the Grizzlies' only offense in the first half but his minutes were restricted by the score, as Memphis trailed big in the third quarter and wound up losing by 32 points. Carter's throwback performance could earn him another start on Tuesday but it's unlikely that he'll be this efficient vs. the Spurs' elite defense.
Apr 17 - 10:37 PM

Vince Carter scored 15 points with seven rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.

As great as this game was for Carter, coach Dave Joerger talked about resting him before the game. Expect Carter to miss at least one game going forward.
Apr 9 - 11:17 PM

Jordan Farmar, Lance Stephenson, Vince Carter, Matt Barnes and Zach Randolph are in the starting lineup against the Warriors.

Carter, Barnes and Randolph could all see limited minutes tonight, so it's tough to trust any of these vets.
Apr 9 - 7:58 PM

Vince Carter played great in 25 minutes off the bench vs. Chicago, finishing with 17 points, five boards, four assists, two steals and one block.

Carter was half-amazing tonight, making 7-of-15 shots including a pair of 3-pointers, and he turned the ball over just once while posting a +/- rating of +22. The 39-year-old swingman has been thrust into a larger role by injuries, and owners in deep leagues should give him a long look -- over the past five games he's averaging 12.6 points, 1.6 threes, 3.6 boards, 1.6 dimes and 0.8 steals.
Apr 5 - 10:55 PM

Vince Carter (calf) returned from a four-game absence on Saturday vs. the Clippers and played 27 minutes, scoring nine points with three boards, two assists and one 3-pointer.

The veteran looked great and the minutes were nice, but keep in mind that Matt Barnes was suspended tonight. For now, Carter is only on the radar in very deep leagues until the Grizzlies are healthy again.
Mar 19 - 11:16 PM

Vince Carter (calf) is expected to play on Saturday vs. the Clippers.

He's missed four games in a row, but the Grizzlies really need him tonight with Matt Barnes suspended. Carter may only see limited minutes tonight, so he's safe to ignore in most leagues for now.
Mar 19 - 7:52 PM

Vince Carter (calf) will try to play on Saturday against the Clippers

The Grizzlies will need him badly on the wing for tonight. Carter might actually have to start even though he could be limited on playing time. He's still tough to use in most leagues given his age.
Mar 19 - 6:26 PM

Vince Carter (strained left calf) will be a game-time decision vs. the Clippers on Saturday.

The veteran injured himself last Friday and his absence has led to even more playing time for Lance Stephenson, Matt Barnes, Tony Allen and P.J. Hairston. Anyone relying on him in a deep league should check for updates as tip-off approaches.

Mar 18 - 5:23 PM

Vince Carter (calf) will not play Thursday against the Bucks.

This is not a surprise and the Grizzlies will have to count on Matt Barnes, Tony Allen and Lance Stephenson quite a bit. Carter could be back for the weekend.
Mar 17 - 7:50 PM

Vince Carter (left calf) is now doubtful for Thursday's game vs. the Bucks.

Coach Dave Joegrer isn't expecting him to play, so expect guys like Tony Allen, Lance Stephenson and Matt Barnes to soak up a ton of minutes on the wing. It sounds like Carter could miss more time, so there's no reason to own him in most leagues.
Mar 17 - 6:43 PM

Vince Carter (left calf) is questionable to face the Bucks on Thursday.

Carter is likely headed for another game-time decision, and if he's unable to give it a go, Lance Stephenson, Matt Barnes and Tony Allen will be forced into heavy minutes with Stephenson offering the most upside. Stay tuned.
