Vince Carter (foot) will not play vs. the Blazers on Sunday.

The 38-year-old veteran remains without a timetable to return, but the Grizzlies have no reason to rush him back. Carter was averaging just 6.0 points in 16.6 minutes per game before suffering the injury, so it's safe to leave him on the wire.

The Grizzlies are optimistic that Vince Carter's torn left foot tendon will heal without surgery, but he remains without a timetable.

"It'll be a while before we see him," said coach Dave Joerger. "There probably won't be an update for a couple of weeks." The Grizzlies would be satisfied if he's back in action for the playoffs and there's no incentive to hang onto the 38-year-old in fantasy leagues.
Feb 19 - 2:14 PM

Vince Carter (foot) will be out through the All-Star break, and he'll be reevaluated after that.

Carter's foot is "progressing as normal and rehab will continue," but he remains out indefinitely. Without him in the lineup, expect to see more of Tony Allen, Courtney Lee and Jeff Green on the wing.
Feb 9 - 11:51 AM

Vince Carter's MRI revealed a "left foot tendon injury" and he will be re-evaluated next week.

It looks like Carter dodged a bullet here, as there was some fear that he had sustained a fracture to his foot. It's unclear at this point exactly how long Carter will be sidelined, but Tony Allen will likely soak up most of Carter's reserve minutes.
Jan 30 - 6:41 PM

There's a fear that Vince Carter sustained a fracture to his left foot during Thursday's game against the Nuggets.

Carter is set to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of his injury on Friday, so we'll be providing another update as soon as that information becomes available. However, the fact that Carter was hurt on a non-contact play does not bode well for the 38-year-old. If he is forced to take an extended absence, Tony Allen would likely pick up most of his minutes.
Jan 30 - 11:52 AM

Vince Carter (foot) will not return to Thursday's game and will have an MRI.

It's only being called a "left foot injury" right now. Carter was able to walk around and put weight on his foot in the locker room, so hopefully that's a sign that he's not dealing with a major issue. There are some reports that there could be a sprain of his foot.
Jan 29 - 9:21 PM

Vince Carter (foot) left Thursday's game in the second quarter and went to the locker room.

It did not look good and he needed help off the court. Carter looked emotional and hopefully he didn't suffer a serious injury. We'll be looking for an update and pass along the word as soon as it's available.
Jan 29 - 8:50 PM

Vince Carter scored 13 points in 24 minutes against the 76ers on Saturday with six rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer.

He didn't score at all in his previous two games, but a game with the 76ers can bring a lot of guys to life. Carter's minutes have dipped since the Jeff Green deal and he's not worth owning in most leagues.
Jan 24 - 11:46 PM

Vince Carter missed all five of his field goal attempts in Friday's game, finishing with zero points, two rebounds and four assists in 15 minutes.

Maybe he's not ready to start producing just yet. Carter was a low-end asset in fantasy leagues last year but it's not 100 percent clear if or when that's going to happen this year. Outside of deep leagues, he can be left on the wire until he heats up again.
Jan 3 - 3:41 AM

Vince Carter scored 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 23 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Add another make or two and this is a typical Vince Carter line and it's looking like he's about ready to get his season going. When you iron out all the wrinkles it typically leads to late-round value, but with little upside he's not a must-add or even must-own player right now.

Vince Carter scored 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting (including two threes) with two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 22 minutes off the bench on Monday.

Carter also dunked on Rudy Gobert and sent the Internet into a brief tizzy. It's very possible that Carter took November and most of December off because he's old, and now he's ready to settle into the role he had last year. Give him a look.

Vince Carter played 41 minutes against the Spurs on Wednesday with 18 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and five 3-pointers.

He is half-a-man, half-amazing after all. Carter had a 16-point game on Tuesday and the Grizzlies have suddenly turned him loose with the loss of Tony Allen (eye). He was only played 15 minutes per game before this sudden increase, so he's only worth a look in deep leagues for now. Plus, Allen shouldn't be out too long.
Thu, Dec 18, 2014 01:24:00 AM

Vince Carter hit 5-of-12 shots and four 3-pointers for 16 points, four rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes of Tuesday's win over the Warriors.

He picked the right game to show up, as the Grizzlies needed those 3-pointers to maintain their lead throughout the night. He hasn't done much of anything this season, and while we initially thought he could play like this consistently, it's just not the case. Don't overreact to tonight's nice line.

Vince Carter got a nice tribute in Toronto on Wednesday that moved him to tears, but he didn't have much left for the actual game, finishing with seven points on 3-of-11 shooting.

With Memphis shorthanded due to a flu bug and VC's return to Toronto, we were hoping for big things. He never got it going tonight and his season high is just 11 points, meaning he should be on the waiver wire in your league.
