Vince Carter has agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal with the Grizzlies according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
It's fair to wonder when Carter's legs will give out, but he could be a starter in front of Tayshaun Prince, who has been pretty useless over the past couple seasons. It also looks like Mike Miller is on his way out of Memphis and perhaps to Cleveland to go play with LeBron, which is another good sign for Carter this season, if he can stay healthy. He's played in 81 games in each of the last two seasons, so that might not be an issue. Jul 11 - 11:46 PM

The Mavericks are still confident they can re-sign unrestricted free agent Vince Carter.

Even with the massive three-year, $45 million offer sheet the Mavs just extended to Chandler Parsons, they still think they can bring back Carter. His minutes would obviously take a hit with Parsons playing a ton of minutes at small forward, so VC's fantasy value would go south in his age-37 season.

Talks between the Mavericks and Vince Carter are "trending well," according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas.

There is mutual interest and it seems like only a matter of time before Carter re-signs with the Mavs, but he's also drawn interest from the Heat, Raptors, Thunder and Trail Blazers. He had an excellent season in 2013-14 and was one of the best bench players in the NBA, but at age 37 it's unlikely that he'll get a long contract.

Vince Carter is set to become an unrestricted free agent come July 1, and there are a number of playoff teams expected to make an offer, according to sources.

The Heat, Thunder, Raptors, and Trail Blazers are expected to make their pitches to Carter in addition to the Mavericks. Carter averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 24.4 minutes per game last season, and showed that at 37-years-old he still has the ability to make an impact on a team.

The Raptors are reportedly interested in signing Vince Carter as a free agent this summer.

Carter is coming off a tremendous season at age 37, shooting 39.4 percent from downtown while mounting a legitimate case for Sixth Man of the Year honors. He's reportedly very happy in Dallas and the Mavs have the resources to keep him in free agency, but a potential return to Canada may be intriguing enough to lure him north.

Vince Carter hit 10-of-16 shots and a 3-pointer for 28 points, three rebounds, two assists and a block in Wednesday's Game 5 loss to the Spurs.

Carter was fantastic tonight and the Mavs would have been lost without him. Dirk Nowitzki had 26 points and 15 rebounds, and Monta Ellis chipped in with 21 points and six assists. The Mavericks, now down 2-3, will try to keep the series going with a home win on Friday in Game 6.
Apr 30 - 9:56 PM

Vince Carter hit a fadeaway 3-pointer at the buzzer to beat the Spurs 109-108 in Game 3 on Saturday, finishing with 11 points, three boards, one assist and one turnover in 23 minutes.

The shot was more than just half-amazing. The Mavericks had 1.7 seconds left and it allowed Carter to get the ball in the corner, put on a pump fake, then hit a high-arching triple to beat the buzzer. The Mavs have a 2-1 lead and will look build off this win in Game 4 on Monday. This year's NBA Playoffs have been absolutely insane so far and we're only a week in. The video of the shot is attached in the link below.
Apr 26 - 7:20 PM

Vince Carter hit just 4-of-13 shots for 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals on Saturday, but it was enough for him to pass Adrian Dantley for 25th place on the all-time scoring list.

Carter is having a nice year for the Mavs and should get some votes for Sixth Man of the Year, although he doesn't have much chance of winning it. And with the playoffs locked up for the Mavs, the old man could be ready for some rest.
Apr 13 - 12:08 AM

Vince Carter scored nine of his 17 points in the fourth quarter on Sunday, making four 3-pointers with three assists and one block in a win vs. Sacramento.

In the process, Vince passed Elgin Baylor to become the 26th highest scorer in NBA history with 23,152 career points. The next players in his sights are Adrian Dantley (23,177) and Robert Parish (23,334). It's quite an accomplishment for the eight-time All-Star.
Apr 6 - 9:01 PM

Vince Carter missed all eight of his shot attempts in Friday's win and finished with zero points.

Carter added three assists and a block to this stinker but he has been great for most of the year and owners should give him a pass.
Apr 5 - 2:04 AM

Vince Carter knocked down four 3-pointers during Thursday's win over the Clippers on his way to 16 points, two boards, one assist and one steal in 25 minutes.

He moved up to ninth place for 3-pointers after the All-Star break and he's done it in just 25.4 minutes per game. Carter is 37 years old and he's also averaged 14.1 points per game since the break thanks to a 53.7 effective field goal percentage. He's worth owning in standard leagues.
Apr 4 - 2:28 AM

Vince Carter will become a free agent at the end of this season, but stated in a recent in interview that he hopes to return to Dallas.

"I think I’ve earned the right to stick around," said Carter. Carter signed with the Mavericks the season after their championship run, and saw the team go from defending champions, to barely making the playoffs, to not making them at all. While Carter, statistically, is far removed from his best years, he's still capable of putting up solid numbers as a reserve. Through 14 games in March, Carter is averaging a respectable 13.6 points, 2.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.4 treys per game, numbers that are serviceable as a low-end option in standard leagues.
Mar 30 - 9:00 AM

Vince Carter scored 23 points vs. the Clippers during a tough 109-103 loss with one board, one assist, one block and four 3-pointers in 28 minutes.

The Mavericks just buckled a bit down the stretch while the Clippers finished strong. Carter played the last 6:31 of the game and he continues to see solid minutes in crunch time. Over his last five, he's averaged 15.6 points, 4.8 boards, 2.6 dimes, 1.0 steals and 3.2 triples. Those numbers are good enough to keep him owned in standard leagues.
Mar 28 - 2:09 AM

Vince Carter dislocated his right pinkie finger twice during Saturday's game, but X-rays were negative and he continued to play through the injury.

Trainers taped up his finger so it wouldn't dislocate again and Carter didn't seem concerned after the game. We're leaving him off the injury report in advance of Sunday's game vs. the Nets, and will let you know if his status changes.
Mar 22 - 11:22 AM

Vince Carter dealt with a right pinkie injury and even had it X-rayed during Friday's game, but returned to action and finished with 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting, three rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in 25 minutes.

The X-rays were negative and we haven't heard anything concerning about this after the game. He is rolling again after a brief slowdown and should be owned in all standard formats.
