Vince Carter got a nice tribute in Toronto on Wednesday that moved him to tears, but he didn't have much left for the actual game, finishing with seven points on 3-of-11 shooting.
With Memphis shorthanded due to a flu bug and VC's return to Toronto, we were hoping for big things. He never got it going tonight and his season high is just 11 points, meaning he should be on the waiver wire in your league. Nov 20 - 2:26 AM

Vince Carter scored a season-high 11 points against the Kings on Thursday with four rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers.

It's his second decent game following up a six-point, 22-minute game on Tuesday. Carter is not going to be unleashed, so he can remain on the wire in most leagues.
Nov 13 - 11:42 PM

Vince Carter was back in the Grizzlies rotation vs. L.A. on Tuesday, scoring six points with two rebounds, three assists and one steal in 22 minutes.

VC never left the bench in Saturday's game, coincidentally the Grizzlies' only loss this season, but he returned with a season-high for playing time. Memphis finally got some bench production tonight and Carter should slowly improve as the season advances, as he's been limited early on by offseason ankle surgery.
Nov 11 - 11:00 PM

Vince Carter played just 15 minutes on Monday, scoring nine points on 4-of-7 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds and no other stats.

Carter is probably just using the beginning of the year as an extended preseason, so keep an eye on him when his minutes start to creep north of 20 per game. Until then, he's a hard guy to roster in standards with very little overall upside.
Nov 4 - 12:34 AM

Vince Carter played just six minutes for three points against the Pacers on Friday.

The highlight of his night was making fun of Chris Copeland's pump fakes after being called for a foul. Carter doesn't look like he'll have fantasy value after only logging 16 minutes in the opener. You can check out the Carter fun in the link below.
Oct 31 - 9:54 PM

Vince Carter recovered his shooting stroke in Friday's preseason finale, scoring 13 points on 5-of-8 field goals, including a 3-of-3 mark from downtown.

Vince also had five rebounds and two assists, though his efficient line was marred by five turnovers in just 22 minutes. He projects as a 25-minute player in a sixth-man role this year, which should be enough to keep him on the radar as a late-round value in roto leagues.
Oct 24 - 11:15 PM

Vince Carter hit just 1-of-6 shots for three points, two rebounds, three assists and two blocks on Wednesday.

He played 21 minutes, but didn't do much with them. We were bullish on him coming into camp, but he's struggled throughout most of it. He still has time to turn it around and be a valuable sixth man in Memphis, but for now, he probably belongs on the waiver wire when your draft ends.
Oct 22 - 11:12 PM

Vince Carter played eight minutes during Monday's 108-103 loss to Dallas, scoring four points with two rebounds, one block and one 3-pointer.

He only played six minutes on Friday and hasn't been over 13 in any of his four games. Carter played 24.4 minutes per game in his 81 outings last year, so he'll likely be closer to 20. He's not quite worthy of drafting in standard leagues.
Oct 20 - 11:42 PM

Vince Carter (ankle) got back on the floor on Friday night, but logged just six minutes against Flamengo.

We'll let you know if we hear anything for owners to be concerned about, but there's no reason for Carter to push himself at this time of year. The Grizzlies predictably rolled tonight, with a bountiful box score that owners should disregard for projection purposes.
Oct 17 - 11:57 PM

Vince Carter came off the bench and hit 2-of-3 shots, both 3-pointers, for nine points and one assist on Saturday.

He's been held out with a bum ankle but looked good tonight. He may not start for the Grizzlies, but could have a nice role as the sixth man in Memphis. Once you get to the final round of your draft, he's worth a look.
Oct 11 - 11:17 PM

Vince Carter sat out Wednesday's game while nursing a sore ankle.

He could start for the Grizzlies this season and we like him as a deep sleeper if it happens.
Oct 9 - 1:48 AM

Vince Carter has looked "more active" in recent practices, after being limited by an ankle injury and general soreness during the start of training camp.

He had surgery in May to remove a bone spur in his right ankle, but he's fully recovered and shouldn't have any limitations on opening night. The Grizzlies hope that he'll stretch the court with his 3-point shooting, making up for Mike Miller's departure, while offering a dynamic pick-and-roll option with the second-unit. He was in the conversation for Sixth-Man of the Year last season but fantasy owners shouldn't touch him before the final rounds.
Oct 8 - 1:55 PM

Vince Carter was limited in practice on Wednesday due to a right ankle bone spur.

He had surgery back in May for this issue and the Grizzlies are likely just playing it safe. They have some depth issues at small forward and Tayshaun Prince was one of the worst starters in the league last year, so Carter could make his way onto the fantasy map.
Oct 1 - 3:44 PM

Vince Carter has agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal with the Grizzlies according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

It's fair to wonder when Carter's legs will give out, but he could be a starter in front of Tayshaun Prince, who has been pretty useless over the past couple seasons. It also looks like Mike Miller is on his way out of Memphis and perhaps to Cleveland to go play with LeBron, which is another good sign for Carter this season, if he can stay healthy. He's played in 81 games in each of the last two seasons, so that might not be an issue.
Jul 11 - 11:46 PM

The Mavericks are still confident they can re-sign unrestricted free agent Vince Carter.

Even with the massive three-year, $45 million offer sheet the Mavs just extended to Chandler Parsons, they still think they can bring back Carter. His minutes would obviously take a hit with Parsons playing a ton of minutes at small forward, so VC's fantasy value would go south in his age-37 season.
