Vince Carter scored 14 points with four 3-pointers, three rebounds and two steals in Monday's win at Brooklyn.
The oldest player in the NBA, at 40 years old, showed brief flashes of his younger self against one of his former teams on Monday night. VC was lights out from long distance, knocking down four of the five 3-pointers he attempted. Feb 13 - 10:43 PM

Vince Carter did not score in 19 minutes against the Warriors on Friday with two rebounds.

It's the second time he's been active and gone scoreless since Jan. 28. Carter is a modern marvel at age 40, but the days of him making an impact on the stat sheet are behind him. He should be a Hall of Famer.
Feb 10 - 11:57 PM

Vince Carter (rest) will not play against the Suns on Wednesday.

It's just a scheduled day off for the 40-year-old wing. The Grizzlies are not on a back-to-back set, but this will be his first game off since Dec. 10. With him out, there should be a few extra minutes going to James Ennis, JaMychal Green and Tony Allen.
Feb 8 - 2:10 PM

Vince Carter played 24 minutes off the bench and hit 3-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for seven points, six rebounds, two assists and a season-high four blocks in Monday's win over the Spurs.

Carter looked good tonight and his blocks were fun to watch. He's 40 years old and inconsistent as heck, but is still capable of a good game here and there. But odds are you can find a better player to own (with some upside), regardless of what league you play in.
Feb 7 - 12:50 AM

Vince Carter had another strong game vs. the Nuggets on Wednesday, scoring 14 points (4-of-6 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs) with six assists, five rebounds, one block and zero turnovers in 26 minutes.

Carter also drained 3-of-3 shots beyond the arc, and in the process he became the fifth player in NBA history to make 2,000 career 3-pointers. He's having a great season and sometimes it's hard to believe that he's 40 years old. Just don't expect reliable fantasy value in 12-team formats.
Feb 2 - 12:23 AM

Vince Carter scored 11 points with three rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes against the Thunder on Wednesday.

He hit a couple milestones tonight, passing Jason Kidd for fifth all time in 3-pointers and also Buck Williams for 17th all time in games played. The bad news is Carter had a bad finish to this game and missed two clutch free throws. he won't have much fantasy value.
Jan 11 - 11:00 PM

Vince Carter played 30 minutes against the Clippers on Wednesday with 11 points, seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and three 3-pointers.

Back in the preseason, coach David Fizdale said he was looking to use Vince as his stretch four, which was his primary role tonight. It's the first time he's hit 24 minutes in a game since Thanksgiving, so the increase in minutes likely had a lot to do with JaMychal Green (face) not playing. If J-Myke is out again, Vince could be a DFS punt against the Warriors on Friday.
Jan 5 - 1:22 AM

Vince Carter scored 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting with four rebounds and four triples in Friday's win over the Rockets.

This was his first game with double-digit points since Nov. 21, so Carter can be left on the wire in standard leagues. Fantasy owners can't rely on a guy who plays anywhere from 15-22 minutes per night.

Vince Carter (hip) returned to action on Tuesday vs. the Cavaliers, scoring three points on 1-of-4 shooting with four assists, two rebounds and one triple in 18 minutes.

He was playing way too many minutes at the start of the season and the Grizzlies will probably want to keep his minutes in the teens or the lower 20s moving forward, especially with Troy Williams and Troy Daniels playing pretty well. Carter belongs on the wire.

Vince Carter (hip) is available to play vs. the Cavaliers on Tuesday.

Carter hasn't played since Nov. 28 and he's unlikely to play heavy minutes tonight, but his return is great news for the banged-up Grizzlies. Tony Allen, Troy Williams and Troy Daniels could all cede a few minutes to Carter, who comes in with season averages of 9.3 points, 3.9 boards, 1.8 assists and 0.8 steals in 26.5 minutes.

Vince Carter (hip) is questionable for Tuesday's game vs. Cleveland.

He was reportedly nearing a return last week, but the Grizzlies keep listing him as questionable. If he does return, Tony Allen, Troy Williams and Troy Daniels will all take a hit in terms of minutes and fantasy value.
Mon, Dec 12, 2016 07:35:00 PM

Vince Carter (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's game vs. the Warriors.

He is nearing a return, but it won't be tonight. Troy Williams and Troy Daniels (illness) should both see a sizable chunk of minutes against Golden State.

Vince Carter (hip) is questionable to play against the Warriors on Saturday.

He's getting closer and the sense around the team is Carter has a legitimate chance to make his return after missing six games. Carter's hip injury could keep him limited in his first game back, so he's unlikely to match his season average of 26.5 minutes per game upon his return. Troy Williams would take the biggest hit.
Fri, Dec 9, 2016 04:36:00 PM

Vince Carter (hip) will not play against the Blazers on Thursday night.

He was listed as questionable on the injury report on Wednesday, but Carter will miss his sixth straight game. Since he's been out, it's been Troy Williams, Troy Daniels and Tony Allen picking up most of the wing minutes. Daniels will have the greatest upside with his red-hot scoring numbers. The Grizzlies aren't on a back-to-back, so Allen could get decent run tonight.

Vince Carter (hip) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Blazers.

He's been ruled out the day before each of the last three games, so this is a step in the right direction. The Grizzlies have won each of their last four without Carter with guys like Troy Williams and Troy Daniels stepping up. If Carter does return, that may take some minutes from the Troys and maybe from Tony Allen, as well. Carter is not worth owning in most leagues.
