Vince Carter scored 10 points with four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two triples in 30 minutes vs. the Spurs on Saturday.
He also hit a pair of free throws and seven of his shot attempts came from beyond the arc. Since moving into the starting lineup on Mar. 13, VC is averaging 11.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.3 triples, but keep in mind that those averages include his fluky 24-point game with six triples vs. the Bucks. He's a low-end streaming option and the Grizzlies only play three times next week. Mar 19 - 12:45 AM

Vince Carter hit 1-of-2 shots for three points, one steal and two blocks in 29 minutes in Thursday's win over the Hawks.

His perfect game last Monday, when he had 24 points and six 3-pointers without missing a shot, has already been forgotten, as he's averaging 5.0 points and 0.5 3-pointers in his two games since then. If you picked him up after Monday's explosion, you should probably throw him back on the waiver wire and try someone else.
Mar 16 - 10:43 PM

Vince Carter scored seven points with three rebounds, two assists, one block and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes against the Bulls on Wednesday.

Coach David Fizdale did say he was going to be aware of Carter's minutes, so he should be looking at minutes in the upper 20s going forward. Carter could have some value in favorable matches, but it's never easy to count on a 40-year-old player in fantasy. He's more of a deep-league guy.
Mar 15 - 11:54 PM

Coach David Fizdale said he won't wear out Vince Carter with heavy minutes.

The Grizzlies are starting Carter, Mike Conley, Tony Allen, JaMychal Green and Marc Gasol again on Wednesday. VC was out of this world for a 40-year-old with his 24 points on perfect shooting in 30 minutes. Carter has played 23.7 minutes per game, so getting him to the upper 20s may not be too much to ask. He could wind up scoring in the teens most nights, but he's still a volatile fantasy property.
Mar 15 - 7:00 PM

Vince Carter finished with a season-high 24 points in Monday's win against the Bucks, sinking all eight of his field-goal attempts, all six of his 3-point attempts and both of his free throw tries.

Carter is the first 40-year-old playing to make six 3-pointers in an NBA game. It was vintage Vinsanity in Monday's game, as the old man showed he still has a little something left in the tank. Don't get too carried away trying to add him for the stretch run, though, as he entered with just 35 total points over his past six appearances with six total 3-pointers during the stretch. This is more of an anomaly than anything else and he remains useful only in deeper seasonal formats.
Mar 13 - 10:58 PM

Vince Carter will start in place of Chandler Parsons (knee) on Monday vs. the Bucks.

Parsons is dealing with knee soreness yet again, but it's not clear how long he will be out. Carter's minutes have been trending up for over a week, but he's not a great pickup outside of very deep formats. Over his last five games, he's averaging 5.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.2 treys in 23.2 minutes per game.
Mar 13 - 6:40 PM

Vince Carter was ejected from Tuesday's game vs. the Suns with two technical fouls.

He lasted just two minutes in the first quarter before he was tossed, finishing scoreless with one shot attempt -- he threw an elbow into Devin Booker's face. Troy Daniels and James Ennis will get a small bump the rest of the night.
Feb 28 - 8:33 PM

Vince Carter scored 14 points with four 3-pointers, three rebounds and two steals in Monday's win at Brooklyn.

The oldest player in the NBA, at 40 years old, showed brief flashes of his younger self against one of his former teams on Monday night. VC was lights out from long distance, knocking down four of the five 3-pointers he attempted.
Feb 13 - 10:43 PM

Vince Carter did not score in 19 minutes against the Warriors on Friday with two rebounds.

It's the second time he's been active and gone scoreless since Jan. 28. Carter is a modern marvel at age 40, but the days of him making an impact on the stat sheet are behind him. He should be a Hall of Famer.
Feb 10 - 11:57 PM

Vince Carter (rest) will not play against the Suns on Wednesday.

It's just a scheduled day off for the 40-year-old wing. The Grizzlies are not on a back-to-back set, but this will be his first game off since Dec. 10. With him out, there should be a few extra minutes going to James Ennis, JaMychal Green and Tony Allen.
Feb 8 - 2:10 PM

Vince Carter played 24 minutes off the bench and hit 3-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for seven points, six rebounds, two assists and a season-high four blocks in Monday's win over the Spurs.

Carter looked good tonight and his blocks were fun to watch. He's 40 years old and inconsistent as heck, but is still capable of a good game here and there. But odds are you can find a better player to own (with some upside), regardless of what league you play in.
Feb 7 - 12:50 AM

Vince Carter had another strong game vs. the Nuggets on Wednesday, scoring 14 points (4-of-6 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs) with six assists, five rebounds, one block and zero turnovers in 26 minutes.

Carter also drained 3-of-3 shots beyond the arc, and in the process he became the fifth player in NBA history to make 2,000 career 3-pointers. He's having a great season and sometimes it's hard to believe that he's 40 years old. Just don't expect reliable fantasy value in 12-team formats.
Feb 2 - 12:23 AM

Vince Carter scored 11 points with three rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes against the Thunder on Wednesday.

He hit a couple milestones tonight, passing Jason Kidd for fifth all time in 3-pointers and also Buck Williams for 17th all time in games played. The bad news is Carter had a bad finish to this game and missed two clutch free throws. he won't have much fantasy value.
Jan 11 - 11:00 PM

Vince Carter played 30 minutes against the Clippers on Wednesday with 11 points, seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and three 3-pointers.

Back in the preseason, coach David Fizdale said he was looking to use Vince as his stretch four, which was his primary role tonight. It's the first time he's hit 24 minutes in a game since Thanksgiving, so the increase in minutes likely had a lot to do with JaMychal Green (face) not playing. If J-Myke is out again, Vince could be a DFS punt against the Warriors on Friday.
Jan 5 - 1:22 AM

Vince Carter scored 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting with four rebounds and four triples in Friday's win over the Rockets.

This was his first game with double-digit points since Nov. 21, so Carter can be left on the wire in standard leagues. Fantasy owners can't rely on a guy who plays anywhere from 15-22 minutes per night.
