Ruben Patterson - G/F - Clippers

The Clippers waived forward Ruben Patterson on Thursday, in a move aimed at creating roster flexibility. Patterson was the only Clipper without a guaranteed contract, and his would have become guaranteed (for one year) on Saturday.

The roster spot will not necessarily be filled right away, but the Clippers are concerned about Sam Cassell's strained left calf, which has forced him to miss the last eight games, and may seek help at point guard. Tim Thomas and Al Thornton figure to benefit the most, but keep a close eye on the Clippers' rotation in the wake of Patterson's departure.

Ruben Patterson had 10 points, five rebounds, an assist and four steals as the Clippers beat the Kings to snap a seven-game losing streak.

Patterson asked for more playing time and got it tonight, to the tune of 22 minutes. He could have some value in deep leagues, so keep an eye on him. Corey Maggette scored 18, Tim Thomas had 17 and Chris Kaman had another huge line with 26 points, 12 boards and three blocks.

Ruben Patterson is not happy with the limited minutes he's getting for the Clippers, but isn't causing much of a fuss.

"Coach [Mike Dunleavy] makes the decisions. I can't really complain. Whenever he calls for me, I need to be ready. But I need to be out there to help this team." Patterson played at least 15 minutes in nine November games. "There are reasons for it, obviously, that's why he's not playing as much," Dunleavy said. "I think other guys can potentially help us better at this point. Some of it was he's been struggling finishing around the rim, making baskets and at times, his hand has bothered him. It's different factors."

Ruben Patterson - G/F - Clippers

Ruben Patterson came off the bench on Friday for a season-high 18 points in a loss to the Suns.

He added 11 boards and two steals on 9-of-16 shooting, and with Corey Maggette out for another couple weeks, Patterson will be a popular add in deep leagues. He's really struggled until tonight, so there's no guarantee he'll deliver for you if you pick him up. But maybe his finger injury is finally behind him.

Ruben Patterson started for the Clippers on Wednesday and had seven points, five rebounds and two assists in the win.

Quinton Ross scored 17 off the bench, and could be a more valuable fantasy player while Corey Maggette is out for the next few weeks. However, Al Thornton looks like a better bet to us for short-term value than either Patterson or Ross.

Ruben Patterson got another start for the Clippers on Saturday, filling in for Corey Maggette, but he finished the game with only five points, five rebounds, two steals and four turnovers.

Patterson won't offer sustained value at any point this season, barring further injuries to the thinning Clippers' roster.

Ruben Patterson started for a gimpy Cuttino Mobley on Friday but failed to hit a shot in 22 minutes, finishing with one point.

He's clearly still bothered by a finger injury on his shooting hand and doesn't currently have any fantasy value.

Ruben Patterson returned to action from a finger injury, but scored just one point in 16 minutes in Friday's loss.

The injury is to his shooting hand and he missed all four shots tonight. Tim Thomas is the power forward to own for the Clippers.

Clippers' forward Ruben Patterson aggravated his dislocated right pinkie on Wednesday, and had to leave the game.

The Clippers' trainer determined that Patterson is "probably day-to-day", and it doesn't seem like it will stop him for very long.

Ruben Patterson left Wednesday's game after aggravating his right pinkie injury in the first quarter.

Tim Thomas is the forward to own for the Clippers, so feel free to cut Ruben loose if you need to pick someone up.

Ruben Patterson was in the Clippers’ starting lineup on Friday returning after missing several games with a dislocated right pinky finger.

Patterson scored only 11 points on the night, but added six boards and three blocks. Blocks are surprising as Patterson is really known for his "stealing" ability and only averages 0.3 blocks per game throughout his career.

Ruben Patterson - G/F - Clippers

Ruben Patterson will be in the lineup opening night for the Clippers after dislocating his right pinky finger. In fact, since his finger was put back into place, Patterson has been making jump shots in practice with more regularity and the touch on his free-throw shots has improved.

With the Clippers looking for experience in the absence of big man Elton Brand, Patterson may get minutes at SG, SF, and PF this season. He is a solid #3 Forward in all formats.

Ruben Patterson sat out Friday's preseason finale with a dislocated pinky on his right hand.

He's expected to be ready for opening night next Friday, but it's still a little unclear as to whether he or Tim Thomas has won the starting PF job while Elton Brand is out.

Ruben Patterson had 19 points and 11 rebounds in Sunday's win over the Warriors.

He is going to see plenty of action this season for the Clippers, spending time at power forward and small forward, but Tim Thomas did not play tonight. Patterson is worth a late-round flier, but currently sits behind Thomas on the depth chart.
