Ryan Bowen has joined the Kings' staff as an assistant under Mike Malone.
Bowen has quickly transitioned to a coaching role after a 10-year career as an NBA journeyman. He joins a new-look Kings staff that also includes Brendan Malone, Chris Jent, Corliss Williamson, Micah Nori and Dee Brown. He and Brown will be in charge of "all areas of on-court player development," according to the Eastern Iowa Gazette. Thu, Aug 22, 2013 09:40:00 AM

The Thunder waived forward Ryan Bowen.

The defensive specialist has appeared in just one game for Oklahoma City this season. Bowen could catch on elsewhere, but won't make a significant statistical impact if he does. The Thunder may sign a backup point guard to take Bowen's place on the roster.

It was reported on Sunday that forward Ryan Bowen won the Thunder's last roster spot.

Bowen beat out Mike Harris, Tre Kelley, and Michael Ruffin. Unless your league scores points for hustling in practice, he has no fantasy value.

Ryan Bowen, who was not expected to play through a shoulder injury, hit 1-of-2 shot for two points in Wednesday's loss to the Nuggets.

Bowen sounded very doubtful for this one, but was able to play a few minutes. However, it's hard to imagine a fantasy league deep enough that he would actually be owned in.

Ryan Bowen left during the first half of the Hornet's game against the Warriors on Sunday with a separated shoulder, and did not return.

Bowen had scored six points with one rebound, zero assists, and one steal in six minutes of action, but he likely wouldn't have seen that much time if the Hornets weren't clobbering the Warriors like they were. Bowen says that he plans to play Wednesday against the Nuggets.

Ryan Bowen got his second straight start in place of the injured Tyson Chandler (ankle) on Sunday, and scored just four points with zero rebounds, one assist, and one block.

If there was a "Rudy" in basketball, it may just be Bowen. His scrappy, energetic play resulted in him getting five personal fouls in just 12 minutes. Unfortunately, fantasy titles aren't won with hustle points, and even if David West misses time due to his flagrant foul tonight, Bowen will not have any fantasy value.

David West will start at center on Friday, allowing Ryan Bowen to start at power forward for the injured Hornets.

Byron Scott is unhappy with the recent energy levels of Hilton Armstrong and Melvin Ely, prompting the move while Tyson Chandler remains out with a sprained ankle. "I think Ryan brings that (energy),'' Scott said. "It's no secret that I'm not real happy with the way Mel and Hilton has played and we might as well go in a different direction.''

The Hornets have re-signed forward Ryan Bowen to a one-year deal.

Bowen, a nine-year NBA veteran, gives New Orleans some front-court depth and will again be relied upon to backup David West. The Hornets have shown no interest in re-signing free agent Janerro Pargo, but could still bring Bonzi Wells back into the fold.

Hornets forward Ryan Bowen got another start in place of injured David West (ankle) on Saturday, but had zero points and three rebounds in 21 minutes.

West is day-to-day and it's become quite clear that the Hornets do not have an adequate replacement for him. Fantasy owners should hang on tight and hope that West's status gets cleared up heading into next week.

Ryan Bowen returned from a knee injury on Friday and failed to score in 18 minutes.

Despite the fact he's healthy, he has no fantasy value.

Coach Byron Scott said forward Ryan Bowen, who has been sidelined with a strained left knee, could return to the lineup within two weeks.

"His biggest attribute is his quickness, and I don't know if he has that quickness right now, but every day he's getting better," Scott said. Bowen has missed 13 consecutive games since the Nov. 23 game against Utah, when Matt Harpring collided into his knee.

Hornets' backup forward Ryan Bowen has increased the intensity of his rehabilitation workouts since Friday. He is still unable to make quick cuts, and will have to wear a brace to keep his knee stabilized, but this is a sign that he may be close to returning from a strained left knee.

Bowen has no value at present, but with his hustle and intensity he should be able to break into the Hornets' rotation at some point.

The Hornets announced Monday that forward Ryan Bowen will be out a minimum of three weeks with a sprained left knee.

This news should have no fantasy impact.

The Rockets waived forward Ryan Bowen on Friday.

He's been out with a hip injury and Jeff Van Gundy felt better with Steve Novak here.

Ryan Bowen may not be ready to start training camp as he recovers from offseason hip surgery.

The hip is going to be sore for quite some time, meaning Bowen, who doesn't have much fantasy value when healthy, isn't worth drafting this season.
