Wally Szczerbiak revealed that he had surgery performed on his left knee three weeks ago, and that his career could be over as a result.
"I'm not ready to sign my retirement papers yet," he said. "The doctors have their opinions. I'm getting my body right and see where that takes me." Don't plan on seeing Szczerbiak back in an NBA uniform anytime soon, if at all. Thu, Nov 5, 2009 02:34:00 PM

Peter Vescey reports that Wally Szczerbiak has turned down Denver's one-year offer for the veteran's minimum.

Vescey says Wally is wanted in Europe, but is unlikely to go because of his family. He's still a free agent.

Free agent Wally Szczerbiak said he's still "in discussions" with the Nuggets.

Szczerbiak's name has been floated around the Nuggets for a few weeks now. We think George Karl is probably pushing for someone more athletic like Desmond Mason or Flip Murray.

The Nuggets are reportedly still in the mix for free agent Wally Szczerbiak.

Szczerbiak would be a slight downgrade from Linas Kleiza, who recently bolted for Europe. He probably wouldn't get enough minutes to make a fantasy impact with the Nuggets. A more interesting option whose name is being floated around the Nuggets is free Rashad McCants. At least he's young enough to run with the Nugs.

Wally Szczerbiak hit 6-of-7 shots and 4-of-4 3-pointers for a season-high 18 points to go along with three rebounds and two assists as the Cavaliers improved to 38-1 at home this season.

Wally has been so inconsistent this season that he probably wasn't in fantasy lineups tonight, but he probably should have been.

Wally Szczerbiak (sprained MCL) returned to action on Sunday after a five-game absence, scoring four points on 1-of-5 shooting with five rebounds, zero assists, and two steals.

It was a bit of a surprise that he played today, but now that he has returned he will effectively sap the little value that Sasha Pavlovic and Daniel Gibson had, while providing very little value of his own. Keep an eye on him as coach Mike Brown called him the most "consistent" of the three, but owners should stay away for now.

Wally Szczerbiak (sprained knee) has been cleared to play for the Cavaliers. He was active on Friday, but didn't get any playing time.

Szczerbiak will have to earn minutes back from Sasha Pavlovic and Daniel Gibson. "All three of those guys have played well for us at some point this season," coach Mike Brown said. "Wally has been the most consistent." Fantasy owners should probably avoid Wally, at least until he returns to the rotation.

Wally Szczerbiak will miss two-to-three weeks with a sprained left MCL, the Cavaliers announced on Wednesday.

Wally injured his knee on Tuesday and an MRI confirmed the initial diagnosis. Sasha Pavolovic should benefit from increased playing time and is worth a look if he's available in your league, while Daniel Gibson might also return to the rotation.

Wally Szczerbiak left the Cavaliers game on Tuesday with a sprained left knee and will not return.

There's no word on how long Wally will miss, so keep an eye out for updates over the next few days. Sasha Pavlovic's minutes should increase, and Daniel Gibson might find himself back in the rotation before long.

Wally Szczerbiak entered Wendesday's game in the first quarter off the bench behind Tarence Kinsey.

No reason has been given for the lineup change, but that should squash the theory that the change was made because of a possible trade.

Tarence Kinsey is surprisingly starting in place of Wally Szczerbiak in Wednesday's game against the Raptors.

However, Wally is in uniform and warming up, leading to speculation that he is very close to being traded. It makes sense, so stay tuned as the Cavs could be on the verge of pulling off a deal for a big man.

Wally Szczerbiak scored 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting (4-of-5 from downtown) with four rebounds and one assist in 34 minutes off the bench on Sunday.

Wally saw the increased time because Sasha Pavlovic, who had been battling the flu, left the game with an ankle injury in the first quarter. If Pavlovic is out for any length of time, Wally could see some value, but his inconsistency will make him a fit for deeper leagues only.

Cavaliers forward Wally Szczerbiak will play with a protective mask after breaking his nose during Wednesday night's win at New York.

"I'm going to play him like normal," said coach Mike Brown. "He should be good to go." Wally will return to the bench now that Sasha Pavlovic (flu) is back, further limiting his value.

Wally Szczerbiak got another start with Sasha Pavlovic out with the flu and had 12 points, 13 rebounds and two threes in a win at New York.

Wally is hot right now, but Delonte West is due back soon and Pavlovic won't be out for long. Let someone else pick Szczerbiak up.
Wed, Feb 4, 2009 11:21:00 PM

Wally Szczerbiak scored 15 points with four rebounds, three assists and three treys in his first start of the season Tuesday.

A nice line, but he only started because Sasha Pavlovic was out with the flu, and his value will take another hit with Delonte West getting close to returning from his broken wrist.
