Jason Terry, who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, said that Houston is the best fit for him.
"I want another opportunity to fight for a championship and Houston right now is the best fit for me," Terry said. "I love the progression we made. I love the coaching staff. I hope I am a part of the future, but I appreciate everything. I appreciate the opportunity." Terry is a knowledgeable veteran with championship experience, but his days of being relevant in standard fantasy leagues are long behind him. He may or may not return with the Rockets next year, but he's not going to be anything more than a backup wherever he lands, meaning he's not a guy to target in most leagues. May 29 - 12:26 PM

Jason Terry said he isn't planning on retiring yet and intends to play the 2015-16 season.

Set to become a free agent after the playoffs end, Terry was asked if he plans on returning for a 17th NBA season. "One hundred percent," he said before Monday's Game 4 against the Warriors. While Terry has served as a strong veteran presence on the Rockets, he won't see a big enough role on any team to warrant a spot on standard league fantasy rosters in 2015-16.

Jason Terry played 35 minutes and hit 3-of-7 shots (all 3-pointers) for nine points and four assists in Thursday's Game 2 loss to the Warriors.

Terry is the starting point guard for the Rockets and that's not likely to change, but he's hit just 13-of-40 shots over his last five games. Avoid him in fantasy playoff lineups if you can, even though his cheap salary is always a bit tempting.

Jason Terry believes that his Game 7 experience will benefit his teammates.

"My biggest advantage is I’ve been in two Game 7s and I’m undefeated," Terry said. "I’m very confident going in. I understand what it takes to come out with a victory, how I have to approach it and hopefully my teammates will feed off of that."He has really stepped up with averages of 11.4 points, 3.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 3-pointers over his last five games, so the Rockets can feel confident knowing that Terry appears to be ready for the challenge.
May 17 - 11:41 AM

Jason Terry said he thinks the Rockets are a superpower in the making.

While the Rockets face a 3-2 deficit heading into Thursday's Game 6 against the Clippers, Terry isn't short of confidence when it comes to his team. "When you have a combo like Dwight [Howard] and James {Harden}, the longer they're together, the better they're going to be," Terry said. "They're just right now realizing how good they can be together. Individually, they're great. But together, they're like a superpower. And once they get that belief, it's going to be hard to stop them." The 37-year-old is averaging 12.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.4 three-pointers in the Clippers series and has become a safe start in fantasy playoff formats.

Jason Terry said he'll wear all black before Game 4 on Sunday to prepare for the Mavs' funeral in the postseason.

"My attire is like my car, black on black, because at the end of the day when you're in a close-out situation the great Mario Elie once told me prepare yourself for a funeral because you can bury them tomorrow," Terry said. This isn't really news that affects the lineups or fantasy, but bulletin board material is always a fun little storyline, especially since Terry won a title with the Mavs in 2011.
Apr 25 - 4:25 PM

Jason Terry scored 16 points on 6-of-10 from the field against the Mavs on Saturday with four boards, one assist, two steals and four 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

The JET had a little redemption against his former team and you could see it in his eye that this game meant a little more to him. He's going to do almost all his work off the ball and had seven attempts from deep. He'll have a similar role going forward.
Apr 19 - 12:29 AM

Jason Terry scored nine points on 2-of-5 shooting (4-of-4 from the line), with one 3-pointer, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block through 24 minutes of action on Sunday.

He's in a timeshare with Pablo Prigioni, and this is a situation that should be avoided in most leagues. If you're in an extremely deep league and absolutely desperate for 3-pointers, Terry could fill that role, but the Rockets don't play again until Wednesday so there's no reason to make the add now. Prigioni finished with five steals and two rebounds while missing all three of his field goal attempts.
Apr 5 - 4:09 PM

Jason Terry (neck) and Corey Brewer (oblique) are being listed as probable for Wednesday's game vs. the Kings.

It's unclear exactly when Terry suffered a neck injury, but we fully expect him to play on Wednesday. However, he hasn't done much at all as the starting point guard for the Rockets, and is only worth a look for owners in extremely deep leagues desperate for some 3-point shooting. Brewer hasn't missed any time with his oblique injury, so there's no reason to think he won't be in uniform on Wednesday.
Mar 31 - 4:53 PM

Jason Terry showed why he's not a standard league asset on Sunday, managing to score just five points on 2-of-4 shooting, with one 3-pointer, two assists, and one rebound through 19 minutes of action.

Yes, Terry is starting for the Rockets, but at this point in his career he's simply not capable of the consistency required to be an asset in standard leagues. He's locked into a timeshare with Pablo Prigioni, which essentially cancels out the value of each player, and this is a situation that should be avoided in most leagues. Prigioni put up 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, two 3-pointers, three steals, and one turnover over 29 minutes of action, but he'd been nearly invisible in his previous two outings.
Mar 29 - 4:11 PM

Jason Terry made 6-of-7 from the field with five 3-pointers for 17 points against the Wolves on Friday with three rebounds, four assists and one block in 28 minutes.

That's good for a pristine 121.4 effective field goal percentage. As great as this line is, he still only had an 11.7 usage rate, which usually won't result in double-digit scoring unless it's in a 40-minute game. Fantasy owners looking for treys with some dimes can give him a look as long as they're not expecting a line like this one.
Mar 28 - 2:01 AM

Jason Terry played 27 minutes against the Pelicans on Wednesday with two points, two rebounds, three assists and four turnovers.

He missed all three shots from the field in a very disappointing start to his run as the starting point guard. Terry's minutes should remain in this neighborhood while he should get high single-digit shots per game. He's not a very strong grab in standard leagues with the Rockets looking to other guys for their offense. Additionally, the Rockets did use James Harden at point guard for a few possessions tonight.
Mar 26 - 1:44 AM

Jason Terry will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans with Patrick Beverley (wrist) unavailable.

Terry is worth a look in deep leagues for owners seeking some 3-point shooting, but he's not a great add in standard leagues. Pablo Prigioni and Nick Johnson will also get some extended run, but they're not likely to get enough minutes to matter in most leagues.

Jason Terry played 18 minutes off the bench against the Pacers on Monday with six points, two rebounds, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers.

Patrick Beverley (wrist, elbow) could miss time here and Terry would likely start. He wouldn't play too many minutes because the Rockets have no problem using James Harden at the point and slotting Corey Brewer next to him. Terry is worth a look in deep leagues for now until we get more info on Beverley.
Mar 23 - 11:00 PM

Jason Terry (hamstring) will play against the Pacers on Monday.

He was probable and was never in doubt. Terry is not a fantasy option while Pat Beverley is active.
