Jason Terry (yes, he's still in the league) played back up point guard for the Rockets on Tuesday and had three points, one rebound, zero assists and a 3-pointer in 18 minutes.
He hit 1-of-2 shots and doesn't seem to have much left in the tank. But if he's going to play back up point guard, Troy Daniels could sneak into the rotation as a reserve shooting guard for the Rockets. Oct 21 - 11:14 PM

Jason Terry (hamstring) logged 15 minutes for Houston in his first preseason game on Sunday, scoring six points with two steals.

He didn't have any 3-pointers or assists and his limited playing time is understandable since he hadn't played a game since last February. It's encouraging that his surgically-repaired knee hasn't been an issue during the preseason, but the 37-year-old Terry's fantasy niche is as a 3-point shooter in deep leagues.

Jason Terry (hamstring) returned to practice on Saturday.

The veteran combo guard also practiced on Sunday, so his hamstring pull shouldn't be a concern during the Rockets' final preseason games. He may have a few nice games this season, especially if injuries thin the Rockets' backcourt, but he should go untouched on draft day.
Oct 12 - 4:37 PM

Jason Terry (hamstring) thinks he'll be ready to play by the weekend.

Terry said he came into camp healthy following a knee injury that shut down his 2013-14 season, but experienced a recent minor setback with his hamstring. If his timetable holds up, the 37-year-old would presumably be ready for Monday's exhibition game against the Suns, but Terry's days as a valuable fantasy contributor are long gone.

Rockets G Jason Terry (hamstring) will not play in the Rockets' two preseason games this week.

[The training staff] is holding me back a little and strengthening the leg," Terry said. "I have another week of slow progression but then I should be ready to go next weekend." The veteran should earn a bench role at SG this season, but he'll be hard-pressed to intrigue fantasy owners in standard leagues.
Oct 5 - 7:47 PM

Jason Terry has been sitting out Rockets training camp due to a tight hamstring.

Terry was already iffy for training camp with the knee injury that shut down his 2013-14 season, so he isn't starting off on the right foot with his new team. The 37-year-old averaged just 4.5 points in 35 with the Nets last season and doesn't belong on any fantasy draft lists.

Rockets acquire G Jason Terry in trade

The Kings will receive Alonzo Gee, Scotty Hopson, and a trade exception in exchange for Terry and two second-round draft picks in the trade that was finalized on Wednesday. The 2009 and 2011 Sixth Man of the Year only averaged 4.5 points in 35 games with the Brooklyn Nets last season and won't be worth fantasy owners' attention in 2014-15.

Jason Terry's pending trade to the Rockets is expected to be finalized on Wednesday, according to Jason Jones.

The deal was put together in back in late August and will reportedly send Terry to the Rockets for Alonzo Gee and possibly some non-guaranteed contracts. None of the included players are expected to be worth owning in fantasy leagues this year.
Sep 16 - 11:40 PM

The Kings are reportedly finalizing a trade that will send Jason Terry to the Rockets for Alonzo Gee and other non-guaranteed contracts.

The Kings gain salary-cap space and the Rockets also get a pair of second-round draft picks in the bargain. Terry made no secret of his desire to leave the Kings and he'll finally get his wish, joining a playoff contender with a need for a backup combo guard. He played only 35 games last year before a left knee injury shut him down, but the 36-year-old is back on the court and should participate fully in training camp. As long as Patrick Beverley and James Harden are healthy, however, he's not a viable fantasy option.
Aug 31 - 5:26 PM

Jason Terry posted a picture of himself working out at the Kings' facilities, adding that he felt "right at home."

The Kings are reportedly hoping to trade Terry, who would prefer to be playing for a championship contender, but they're not interested in buying out his $5.4 million contract. If he stays with Sacramento, he'll serve a veteran-mentor role for young guards Darren Collison, Ray McCallum, Nik Stauskas and Ben McLemore.
Aug 20 - 1:58 PM

The Sacramento Kings are looking to trade Jason Terry, according to the Sacramento Bee.

While Terry has been vocal about his desire to play elsewhere, the Kings do not intend to buy out the 36-year-old's $5.4 million contract for next season. That leaves the team looking for a trade partner as they attempt to avoid paying the luxury tax, but they may find it hard finding any takers at that price. Regardless of where he plays next season, Terry's best days are in the rear-view mirror and he shouldn't be on any fantasy radars.
Jul 31 - 9:39 AM

Jason Terry said on a Dallas radio station that he "won’t rule out returning back to Dallas."

"It’s my home and my heart," Terry said. "I bleed blue. I’m a Maverick." Terry is still under contract with the Kings, but he clearly wants out of Sacramento. "I wouldn’t say it’s rebuilding, but a building process... They’re in transition right now. For me, at this point in my career, I want championships." Terry spent most of his 15-year career as the sixth-man for Dallas and was a key contributor on the Mavericks 2011 championship team. He should not be on fantasy radars, but seeing the Jet return to Dallas would be a great ending to his NBA career.
Jul 16 - 11:54 AM

Jason Terry (knee) said that he's healthy and "ready to fly around on the runway for the Sacramento Kings."

Terry is under contract for $5.8 million this season but it wouldn't be surprising if he negotiates a buyout to join an elite team competing for a championship -- he said he "bleeds blue" and wouldn't rule out a return with the Mavericks.
Jul 15 - 3:43 PM

Kings GM Pete D'Alessandro recently spoke with veteran guard Jason Terry, who is under contract for $5.5 million next season.

Terry has been rehabbing his left knee in Dallas since the Kings acquired him from the Nets in February, but D'Alessandro is hopeful that he will provide some veteran leadership for the Kings next year. It's still unclear whether Terry has any interest playing for a young team coming off a 28-54 season.
May 8 - 2:54 PM

Jason Terry will not join the Kings and will spend the rest of the season in Dallas rehabbing his knee.

Terry obviously wasn't interested in going to Sacramento, but this announcement should mean the trade is a done deal, clearing the way for Marcus Thornton and Reggie Evans to play for their new teams. Ben McLemore and Ray McCallum should both be in line for more minutes the rest of the way for the Kings.
