Jason Terry said that James Harden was "all over him" during free agency, and that Harden wasn't going to let Terry go anywhere as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
"No question, he was all over me," Terry said. "[Harden] basically wasn’t letting me go anywhere. That was tough for me knowing how important I am to his growth and his development. You’re not the main guy, but the main guy needs you. It makes it a lot easier to come back." Terry said that he turned down a more lucrative deal from New Orleans in order to return to Houston, and he'll resume his role as a veteran leader for the Rockets. However, the addition of Ty Lawson will lead to even fewer minutes for JET, so he can be ignored in most leagues on draft day. Aug 20 - 6:09 PM

Jason Terry has reportedly told the Rockets he'll return to the team on a one-year deal.

Terry had been mulling an offer from the New Orleans Hornets, but will return to Houston for the veteran's minimum. While the 37-year-old helps provide the Rockets with veteran backcourt depth, he won't help fantasy owners in standard leagues after averaging just 21.3 minutes per game last season.

Jason Terry has reportedly agreed to re-sign with the Rockets on a one-year contract.

The Pelicans need a backup PG and they reportedly had an offer on the table, but Terry opted to stay in Houston as part of a deep backcourt that includes James Harden, Ty Lawson, Patrick Beverley and Marcus Thornton. The veteran combo guard will be lucky to reach the 21.3 minutes he averaged last season, ensuring that he won't help fantasy owners in standard leagues.

Jason Terry has an offer from the Pelicans, according to Mark Berman of FOX 26 Houston.

Perhaps no team needs guard depth more than the Pelicans. Terry showed he still has a little left in the tank during the playoffs last season, averaging 9.2 points, 2.2 boards, 2.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.7 treys. He will likely back up Eric Gordon and play mostly shooting guard.
Aug 7 - 6:29 PM

The Rockets have reportedly made an offer to unrestricted free agent Jason Terry.

Negotiations are not yet complete, as per a source with knowledge of the offer, but it sounds like Terry will be returning to the Rockets for at least once more season. The 37-year-old will help provide the Rockets with some veteran leadership off the bench, but JET won't see enough minutes to be relevant in standard fantasy leagues at this stage of his career.
Jul 30 - 8:59 AM

With the Rockets sending away two guards in the Ty Lawson trade, it's now even more likely that Jason Terry re-signs with Houston during free agency, according to sources of Marc Stein.

The Rockets have long been rumored to be the frontrunners for retaining Terry's services, so it would be surprising if he signs elsewhere. He's a glue guy in the locker room, but after averaging just 7.0 points and 1.6 three-pointers with the Rockets last season, he can be ignored in most fantasy leagues.
Jul 19 - 10:37 PM

Jason Terry is close to re-signing with the Houston Rockets, according to Shams Charania of RealGM.

Terry has received interest from the Mavericks as well, but it sounds like he'll be returning to the Rockets for at least one more season. We'll keep an eye on JET's situation as it progresses, but the 37-year-old can be ignored in all but the deepest fantasy leagues at this point in his career.
Jul 14 - 10:57 AM

The Mavericks have reached out to Jason Terry to gauge the veteran's interest in a potential reunion.

Dallas needs to find minimum salary players to fill out its roster after shopping on Rodeo Drive in free agency and the runway could be clearing for the JET to land one more time at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport. Terry makes sense so long as he's healthy and capable of playing a real role in the rotation.
Jul 6 - 10:16 AM

Jason Terry, who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, said that Houston is the best fit for him.

"I want another opportunity to fight for a championship and Houston right now is the best fit for me," Terry said. "I love the progression we made. I love the coaching staff. I hope I am a part of the future, but I appreciate everything. I appreciate the opportunity." Terry is a knowledgeable veteran with championship experience, but his days of being relevant in standard fantasy leagues are long behind him. He may or may not return with the Rockets next year, but he's not going to be anything more than a backup wherever he lands, meaning he's not a guy to target in most leagues.
May 29 - 12:26 PM

Jason Terry said he isn't planning on retiring yet and intends to play the 2015-16 season.

Set to become a free agent after the playoffs end, Terry was asked if he plans on returning for a 17th NBA season. "One hundred percent," he said before Monday's Game 4 against the Warriors. While Terry has served as a strong veteran presence on the Rockets, he won't see a big enough role on any team to warrant a spot on standard league fantasy rosters in 2015-16.

May 26 - 9:29 AM

Jason Terry played 35 minutes and hit 3-of-7 shots (all 3-pointers) for nine points and four assists in Thursday's Game 2 loss to the Warriors.

Terry is the starting point guard for the Rockets and that's not likely to change, but he's hit just 13-of-40 shots over his last five games. Avoid him in fantasy playoff lineups if you can, even though his cheap salary is always a bit tempting.
May 22 - 12:24 AM

Jason Terry believes that his Game 7 experience will benefit his teammates.

"My biggest advantage is I’ve been in two Game 7s and I’m undefeated," Terry said. "I’m very confident going in. I understand what it takes to come out with a victory, how I have to approach it and hopefully my teammates will feed off of that."He has really stepped up with averages of 11.4 points, 3.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 3-pointers over his last five games, so the Rockets can feel confident knowing that Terry appears to be ready for the challenge.
May 17 - 11:41 AM

Jason Terry said he thinks the Rockets are a superpower in the making.

While the Rockets face a 3-2 deficit heading into Thursday's Game 6 against the Clippers, Terry isn't short of confidence when it comes to his team. "When you have a combo like Dwight [Howard] and James {Harden}, the longer they're together, the better they're going to be," Terry said. "They're just right now realizing how good they can be together. Individually, they're great. But together, they're like a superpower. And once they get that belief, it's going to be hard to stop them." The 37-year-old is averaging 12.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.4 three-pointers in the Clippers series and has become a safe start in fantasy playoff formats.
May 14 - 11:52 AM

Jason Terry said he'll wear all black before Game 4 on Sunday to prepare for the Mavs' funeral in the postseason.

"My attire is like my car, black on black, because at the end of the day when you're in a close-out situation the great Mario Elie once told me prepare yourself for a funeral because you can bury them tomorrow," Terry said. This isn't really news that affects the lineups or fantasy, but bulletin board material is always a fun little storyline, especially since Terry won a title with the Mavs in 2011.
Apr 25 - 4:25 PM

Jason Terry scored 16 points on 6-of-10 from the field against the Mavs on Saturday with four boards, one assist, two steals and four 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

The JET had a little redemption against his former team and you could see it in his eye that this game meant a little more to him. He's going to do almost all his work off the ball and had seven attempts from deep. He'll have a similar role going forward.
