Jason Terry confirmed that he will not re-sign with the Rockets.
It sounds as though Houston wasn't interested in the 39-year-old free agent, though Terry said that he won't retire this summer. He'd prefer to join a contender, but added that he'd be fine serving as a veteran mentor. "My body feels great," he said in June. "My mind is still sharp." So far we haven't heard about any teams pursing Terry in free agency. Jul 20 - 8:44 PM

Jason Terry is looking to play at least one more season in the NBA.

The 39-year-old enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, but isn't planning on hanging it up just yet. "Not retiring at all," he said. "Just looking for another opportunity to get back on a contender. But if that opportunity doesn't present itself, still being able to go in and have an impact in the locker room on the younger players and provide quality minutes off the bench. My body feels great. My mind is still sharp." While Terry can be a veteran shooter off the bench wherever he signs, he doesn't provide much fantasy value at this stage of his career.

Jason Terry said he guarantees that the Rockets will take the series back to Houston with a Game 5 victory over Golden State on Wednesday.

"It's going to be a nice flight home once we get this win [Wednesday]," said Terry. "I'm guaranteeing it." Terry is never one to lack in confidence, and he even joked about prematurely adding a Larry O'Brien Trophy tattoo to his arm. Terry got a Larry O'Brien Trophy tattoo with a Mavs logo during the preseason of Dallas' title run, but then also did the same when he was traded to the Celtics in 2012, essentially ruining a once legendary move as the Celtics were eliminated by the Knicks' during their first-round series.
Apr 27 - 12:29 PM

Jason Terry scored seven points with one rebound, one assist, two steals, one block and no turnovers in 24 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.

He played more than expected because Patrick Beverley was in foul trouble. Terry did not have a good game, so expect him to only see minutes in the teens.
Apr 16 - 6:45 PM

Jason Terry would like to play two more years before he retires.

When asked by reporters if this was his last season, Terry responded by saying we haven't seen the last of him yet. "No, not at all - unless there's just an outrageous opportunity that presents itself in the coaching world," Terry said. "Other than that, my goal is to play two more years. So you'll see a lot more of me." While Terry can help teams as a veteran off the bench, he's limited to deep league fantasy value at this stage of his career.
Apr 7 - 9:46 AM

Jason Terry scored 15 points off the bench on Saturday against the Spurs with one rebound, three assists and three 3-pointers during a blowout loss.

He could get some extra run, but he obviously won't be this good. Terry is only worth a look in deep leagues.
Feb 27 - 11:13 PM

Jason Terry's workload will increase with Marcus Thornton no longer in Houston.

"We'll still be monitoring him, but we had a conversation [Friday] that his workload is going to increase, back-to-backs and things like that," Rockets coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. "Obviously, we're not going to run him into the ground." Terry may see a few more minutes on a nightly basis, but it won't be enough for him to make an impact in most fantasy leagues. He has season averages of 5.7 points, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.3 treys.
Feb 21 - 10:42 AM

Jason Terry was reportedly heard walking through the media room on his way to the locker room saying the Rockets lacked chemistry.

"No chemistry with that group. [expletive] horrible," Terry reportedly said. The Rockets dropped out of the top eight in the Western Conference and this break is not going to be fun. It's worth noting this report was also confirmed from other reporters.
Feb 11 - 4:08 AM

Jason Terry (rest) will not play Saturday vs. the Wizards.

He'll be on the active roster for both Wednesday's game vs. the Spurs and Friday's game vs. the Thunder, but the 16-year veteran will rest on Saturday. He's not a viable fantasy option in almost any league.
Jan 27 - 12:36 PM

Jason Terry returned to the bench on Sunday, tallying just eight points, two 3-pointers and one assist in 20 minutes.

Unless you’re in an extremely deep league and absolute desperate for 3-pointers, there’s no incentive to own JET while Patrick Beverley and Ty Lawson are healthy.
Jan 24 - 6:56 PM

Jason Terry will come off the bench on Sunday vs. the Mavericks.

Patrick Beverley (ankle) is starting as expected, so this isn't a surprise. Terry can be dropped in almost all leagues.
Jan 24 - 1:53 PM

Jason Terry scored six points in a start against the Bucks on Friday, adding one rebound, two assists, three steals and two 3-pointers in 19 minutes.

He's probably just keeping the seat warm for Patrick Beverley (ankle), who is only day-to-day. Terry can be left on the wire.
Jan 23 - 1:25 AM

Jason Terry will start against the Bucks on Friday.

He might have to stay hot to remain in the starting lineup and the Rockets will go with an offensive-first approach. Leave Terry on the wire.
Jan 22 - 7:47 PM

Jason Terry (knee) will play against the Bucks on Friday.

He should get the bulk of the backup point guard minutes. His status makes guys like Marcus Thornton slightly less appealing and the same can be said for Ty Lawson. It's a bad matchup against Michael Carter-Williams anyway.
Jan 22 - 6:59 PM

Jason Terry (knee) participated in the morning shootaround.

He is still questionable to play against the Bucks on Friday, but he may to have to give it a go with Patrick Beverley (ankle) ailing. Regardless, Terry is only on the radar in very deep leagues now that Ty Lawson is finally coming around.
