Rockets acquire G Jason Terry in trade
The Kings will receive Alonzo Gee, Scotty Hopson, and a trade exception in exchange for Terry and two second-round draft picks in the trade that was finalized on Wednesday. The 2009 and 2011 Sixth Man of the Year only averaged 4.5 points in 35 games with the Brooklyn Nets last season and won't be worth fantasy owners' attention in 2014-15. Sep 18 - 12:07 PM

Jason Terry's pending trade to the Rockets is expected to be finalized on Wednesday, according to Jason Jones.

The deal was put together in back in late August and will reportedly send Terry to the Rockets for Alonzo Gee and possibly some non-guaranteed contracts. None of the included players are expected to be worth owning in fantasy leagues this year.
Sep 16 - 11:40 PM

The Kings are reportedly finalizing a trade that will send Jason Terry to the Rockets for Alonzo Gee and other non-guaranteed contracts.

The Kings gain salary-cap space and the Rockets also get a pair of second-round draft picks in the bargain. Terry made no secret of his desire to leave the Kings and he'll finally get his wish, joining a playoff contender with a need for a backup combo guard. He played only 35 games last year before a left knee injury shut him down, but the 36-year-old is back on the court and should participate fully in training camp. As long as Patrick Beverley and James Harden are healthy, however, he's not a viable fantasy option.
Aug 31 - 5:26 PM

Jason Terry posted a picture of himself working out at the Kings' facilities, adding that he felt "right at home."

The Kings are reportedly hoping to trade Terry, who would prefer to be playing for a championship contender, but they're not interested in buying out his $5.4 million contract. If he stays with Sacramento, he'll serve a veteran-mentor role for young guards Darren Collison, Ray McCallum, Nik Stauskas and Ben McLemore.
Aug 20 - 1:58 PM

The Sacramento Kings are looking to trade Jason Terry, according to the Sacramento Bee.

While Terry has been vocal about his desire to play elsewhere, the Kings do not intend to buy out the 36-year-old's $5.4 million contract for next season. That leaves the team looking for a trade partner as they attempt to avoid paying the luxury tax, but they may find it hard finding any takers at that price. Regardless of where he plays next season, Terry's best days are in the rear-view mirror and he shouldn't be on any fantasy radars.
Jul 31 - 9:39 AM

Jason Terry said on a Dallas radio station that he "won’t rule out returning back to Dallas."

"It’s my home and my heart," Terry said. "I bleed blue. I’m a Maverick." Terry is still under contract with the Kings, but he clearly wants out of Sacramento. "I wouldn’t say it’s rebuilding, but a building process... They’re in transition right now. For me, at this point in my career, I want championships." Terry spent most of his 15-year career as the sixth-man for Dallas and was a key contributor on the Mavericks 2011 championship team. He should not be on fantasy radars, but seeing the Jet return to Dallas would be a great ending to his NBA career.
Jul 16 - 11:54 AM

Jason Terry (knee) said that he's healthy and "ready to fly around on the runway for the Sacramento Kings."

Terry is under contract for $5.8 million this season but it wouldn't be surprising if he negotiates a buyout to join an elite team competing for a championship -- he said he "bleeds blue" and wouldn't rule out a return with the Mavericks.
Jul 15 - 3:43 PM

Kings GM Pete D'Alessandro recently spoke with veteran guard Jason Terry, who is under contract for $5.5 million next season.

Terry has been rehabbing his left knee in Dallas since the Kings acquired him from the Nets in February, but D'Alessandro is hopeful that he will provide some veteran leadership for the Kings next year. It's still unclear whether Terry has any interest playing for a young team coming off a 28-54 season.
May 8 - 2:54 PM

Jason Terry will not join the Kings and will spend the rest of the season in Dallas rehabbing his knee.

Terry obviously wasn't interested in going to Sacramento, but this announcement should mean the trade is a done deal, clearing the way for Marcus Thornton and Reggie Evans to play for their new teams. Ben McLemore and Ray McCallum should both be in line for more minutes the rest of the way for the Kings.
Feb 22 - 1:10 PM

Jason Terry has not completed his physical as of Friday afternoon.

He looks to be the holdup to get the trade approved. Marcus Thornton and Reggie Evans will not be able to play until Terry is cleared. The Kings are expected to complete the physical by Saturday in time for both the Kings' and Nets' games.
Feb 21 - 3:42 PM

Jason Terry was traded from the Nets to the Kings as part of Wednesday's three-player deal.

Terry's knee has bothered him throughout the season and he's scored double-digit points just six times all year. He went a combined 1-of-11 from the field in Brooklyn's previous three games and his outlook isn't much brighter in Sacramento, where rookie Ben McLemore will assume the starting PG job. Avoid him in standard leagues.
Feb 19 - 2:00 PM

The Nets and Kings are "finalizing" a trade which would send Jason Terry and Reggie Evans to Sacramento for Marcus Thornton, according to Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The teams are still discussing a conditional draft pick which may also be sent to Brooklyn in the deal, but the framework of the deal is locked in place. Terry hasn't been fully healthy all season and isn't likely to play enough for fantasy value in Sacramento, and Evans remains what he's always been -- a rebound specialist.
Feb 19 - 1:45 PM

Jason Terry scored 18 points off the bench in Friday's garbage-time loss.

Terry has more mouth than game at this stage of his career and has no fantasy value. Reggie Evans (11 and nine) and Mason Plumlee (13 and eight, one block) also got in on the free stats.
Feb 8 - 12:34 AM

Jason Terry scored all 12 points of his points from behind the arc, going 4-of-5 on 3-pointers in Friday's loss to the Bucks.

It was the first time that Terry, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett all scored in double figures in a game for the Nets, a feat they accomplished 33 times last season for the Celtics.
Sat, Dec 28, 2013 09:06:00 AM

Jason Terry returned from his 15-game absence on Monday with 11 points, two boards and three 3-pointers in 15 minutes.

He checked into the game with the score at 73-51, so the Nets might not have put him in the game had it been close. Terry can be left on the wire in almost all leagues.
