The Charlotte Observer suggests that the Bobcats may be interested in Milt Palacio.

After cutting Alan Anderson, Charlotte is expected to sign a third point guard in time for Tuesday's game. In addition to Palacio, Penny Hardaway could be a possibility, the Observer suggests. Palacio's agent confirmed that he was asked last week by the Bobcats about his client's availability. Palacio couldn't make the Sonics this year as he attempted to return from microfracture surgery on his knee.

The Sonics waived point guard Milt Palacio on Thursday.

He couldn't beat out Mike Wilks for the third point guard job, and was trying to return from microfracture surgery on his left knee.

Milt Palacio said Thursday that his left knee is feeling great and healing well following microfracture surgery performed about a month ago.

Palacio becomes an unrestricted free agent in July, but he continues to rehab regularly at the Jazz's practice facility and remains open to the notion of re-signing for a second season in Utah.

Milt Palacio has surgery planned to repair his damaged left knee, his agent confirmed.

"The report I received is that they need to do a little cleanup of some loose particles in his knee," agent Andy Miller said. "It's nothing major, but we're better off doing it now." Miller suggested the surgery will not prevent Palacio, an unrestricted free agent this summer, from being fully ready to play next season.

Milt Palacio did not play Wednesday due to inflammation in his left knee, marking the first time this season he has missed a game due to injury.

An MRI performed after the game proved negative, and Palacio remains out day-to-day.

Milt Palacio (hip) had 17 points on 8-for-12 shooting tonight against the Bobcats.

Palacio was held out of practice yesterday because of the injury, but was healthy enough to play tonight. He's been quietly very productive over the past month and is worth consideration in larger leagues despite the new reserve role.

Milt Palacio was held out of practice Tuesday because of a strained right hip, but he intends to play against the Hornets.

He was recently replaced by Devin Brown in the starting lineup recently. Palacio averaged 11.9 PPG and 4.4 APG in the month of February.
