Former NBA power forward Stromile Swift has been arrested for allegedly stalking his ex-girlfriend.
Swift was arrested in February for aggravated assault involving the same woman, and this time the police found a handgun and a shotgun in his vehicle. He is 31 years old and it's safe to say that his NBA career is over -- he's been playing in China for the past few years. Fri, May 20, 2011 06:14:00 PM

Veteran big man Stromile Swift hopes to return to the NBA this season.

Swift spent last year playing in China but seems eager to return to the U.S., saying, "It doesn't matter what team it is." The veteran PF's disappointing NBA career has produced averages of 8.4 points and 4.6 rebounds in 547 games. With few quality big men on the FA market, he should be able to find a team.

The 76ers waived big man Stromile Swift on Monday.

Swift, the second overall pick in 2000, was bothered by a strained hamstring all preseason. He could still latch on with another team.

Free agent Stromile Swift, who is trying to make the Sixers, strained his left hamstring early in Tuesday's practice and sat out the rest of the day.

Swift will also sit out today's session and is probably a long shot to make the team. But the good news is that fantasy owners will no longer be taunted by the sick athleticism and shot-blocking potential of the perennial bust.

The Blazers, in the market for a backup power forward, will audition veteran free agents Juwan Howard and Stromile Swift.

Blazers GM Kevin Pritchard expects the team to sign one or two more players (in addition to rookie Jeff Pendergraph) before training camp begins on September 28th. Other players will be invited to work out, including Zendon Hamilton, but Swift and Howard have the most realistic chance of being signed.

Suns backup big man Stromile Swift scored 10 points and grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds in Saturday's win over the Wizards.

Don't read anything into this -- Phoenix opened up a huge lead in the second half and decided to air out the bench.

The Suns have signed PF Stromile Swift, who was recently waived by the Nets.

Swift has always been a fantasy tease, but he's hardly played this year and is still dealing with the loss of his mother. He could end up getting some run for the Suns, but it's more likely that he plays a very limited role in order to give the stars some rest. He will be in uniform tonight against the Heat.

The Arizona Republic reports that Stromile Swift is expected to take a physical and sign a contract with the Suns in Miami on Wednesday.

There are minutes to be had in the Suns' front court, but there's still no guarantee Swift will have much value in Phoenix. We'd advise keeping an eye on him for now.

Newly waived power forward Stromile Swift is being targeted by the Suns.

He would help make up for the loss of Amare Stoudemire, although Swift is still struggling with the death of his mother. No reason to rush out and pick him up, but give him a look if he gets signed and somehow plays 20 or more minutes a game.

Stromile Swift was waived by the Nets on Sunday, just before the deadline for waived players to be playoff-eligible.

Swift had fallen off the fantasy radar this season, most notably because he's been dealing with death of his mother. There are no reports of where he could end up at this time, but it would be hard to imagine him having any fantasy value this season.

Stromile Swift is said to be "emotionally spent" after the death of his mother two weeks ago, and it's unclear if or when he'll return to the team.

The Nets are attempting to trade Swift, but he has completely fallen off the fantasy radar this season and it's hard to envision him ending up with significant value even if he gets dealt.

Nets forward Stromile Swift returned to practice on Tuesday after missing significant time for personal reasons.

Swift has appeared in just six games this season, never playing more than 17 minutes, and he hasn't played since December 12th. He's barely worth watching in deep leagues even while Yi Jianlian (finger) is sidelined.

Nets forward Stromile Swift is close to rejoining the team, but isn't expected to play in the near future.

Swift has been out for weeks attending to personal matters, but the Nets could certainly use him now that Yi Jianlian (broken pinky) is sidelined. He's worth keeping an eye on in deep leagues.

Stromile Swift will not play Monday and is not expected to play Tuesday while dealing with personal matters.

Swift always has intriguing fantasy potential, but he doesn't currently have enough of a role in the Nets rotation to warrant a fantasy roster spot.

Stromile Swift was out again for the Nets on Saturday, though its unclear whether it's a coach's decision or his lingering ankle injury that's keeping him sidelined.

Regardless of why Swift isn't playing, he's not an intriguing fantasy option as long as Brook Lopez (17 points, seven rebounds, three blocks) and Josh Boone (zero points in 14 minutes) are healthy. Better luck next year.
