The Lakers worked out free agent G/F Morris Peterson several days ago, sources tell Yahoo.
The Lakers have been linked to Gilbert Arenas, Ramon Sessions and now Peterson. Expect them to upgrade their guard position in some way, shape or form by the March 15 trade deadline. However, it's unlikely that Peterson would be an upgrade after falling out of the league at age 34. Mon, Jan 30, 2012 03:25:00 PM

Morris Peterson said he does not want to retire.

Peterson, who turns 34 in August, appeared in four games for the Thunder last season before being traded to Charlotte. He never got on the floor as a Bobcat and his contract is now expired. Peterson can undoubtedly still shoot the ball, but we doubt he can still move at the NBA level.

The Bobcats intend to waive Morris Peterson and Sean Marks.

Neither player figured to get much burn for Charlotte anyway, and this would allow them to re-sign one of the players they recently released-- Derrick Brown, Dominic McGuire or Sherron Collins.

Morris Peterson was a part of the trade that sent Nazr Mohammed to the Thunder.

Peterson should be a reserve for the Bobcats, though we expect Gerald Henderson to steal most of his Thunder...bad pun partially intended.

Morris Peterson has been traded to the Thunder in a draft-day deal that saw the Hornets draft Cole Aldrich, and then trade him to the Thunder for draft picks.

Mo-Pete's career is winding down and we don't expect him to do much in the OKC. Ignore him on draft day.

Morris Peterson had just nine points and five boards in 27 minutes on Wednesday.

Darren Collison, Chris Paul and Marcus Thornton all played more minutes, and we're guessing Peterson's run is about to come to an end.

Hornets swingman Morris Peterson scored a season-high 20 points on Monday, making 8-of-11 FGs, including 4-of-7 from downtown.

Peterson even chipped in five rebounds and two steals in nearly 36 minutes. We're guessing his minutes won't stay this high for long, and he's inconsistent, but if you need points and 3s he might be worth gambling on in the short-term.

Morris Peterson, Julian Wright, and James Posey combined to shoot 3-of-20 in a blowout loss on Saturday.

The Hornets are already missing Chris Paul, and they lost David West to an early ejection. The result was a predictably sluggish performance, as New Orleans' offense couldn't muster much beyond the solid play of rookies Marcus Thornton and Darren Collison.

Morris Peterson hit four 3-pointers and scored 17 points in Wednesday's loss to the Warriors.

He's playing better than Julian Wright and is actually now worth a look in fantasy. He's scored 17, 17 and 13 points in his last three games, and hit 12 threes over that stretch. We don't like or trust him, but you can't argue with those numbers. Once Peja Stojakovic returns, Peterson should no longer be worth a look in fantasy.

Hornets swingman Morris Peterson had a solid game on Monday, finishing with 17 points, five 3-pointers, eight rebounds, five assists and one turnover in 43 minutes.

This is the second time all season that Peterson has scored double-digit points in two straight games, and he's yet to do it in three straight. He's good for an occasional dose of points, 3s, rebounds and steals, but don't rely on him unless you need to.

Morris Peterson had a productive line for the first time in recent memory against the Suns on Sunday, scoring 13 points on 4-of-11 shooting (including three 3-pointers) with four rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 28 minutes.

He's getting run with Peja Stojakovic (groin) out, and benefited from James Posey's (flu) absence as well, although Posey might be back for Monday's game against the Clippers. In any event, minutes aren't a guarantee for success with him, as evidenced by his one-point outing over 33 minutes on Friday.

Morris Peterson (hamstring) participated in the team shootaround and hopes to play tonight.

"It’s a mild strain. It’s not as sore as it was yesterday. If it feels better, I’m going to try to (play) tonight," Peterson said. He's still listed as questionable and is a spotty fantasy play at best.

Morris Peterson is officially listed as questionable due to the hamstring injury sustained Wednesday night.

The Hornets prefer to have Marcus Thornton come off the bench, but he will be inserted into the starting lineup if Peterson is out tonight. Of the two, Thornton is clearly the fantasy player worth owning.
Fri, Feb 26, 2010 10:41:00 AM

Morris Peterson played just four minutes and failed to score before leaving Wednesday's game with a hamstring injury.

Marcus Thornton played 41 minutes and hit 8-of-21 shots (three 3-pointers) for 25 points, five boards, an assist and a steal. Thornton should have been starting all along, but Peterson's injury should make it happen now. Make sure he's not still available in your league.

Mo Peterson started again on Sunday and finished with 15 points, three boards and three 3-pointers.

Marcus Thornton came off the bench for 12 points, five boards and three 3-pointers, but both players are not exacly must-starts for now. Look for them to continue to split minutes until further notice.
