General manager Mitch Kupchak said on Friday that Pau Gasol is a "priority" this offseason.
"If you look at the free agents, there probably isn't anyone as good as Pau on the board," Kupchak said. While this isn't a surprising quote, the Lakers should certainly look to bring Pau back despite their ending result on the standings. He finished with averages of 17.4 points, 9.7 boards and 1.5 blocks, so he'll be a high pick in fantasy leagues next year. Apr 18 - 2:45 PM

Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol admitted his time with the Lakers could be over during his exit interview on Thursday.

"I'll be in charge of my future and my destiny," Gasol said. "This could be my last day [with the Lakers], maybe." To be clear, this isn't really a big story or anything. There will be endless rumors about the Lakers considering their popularity and how they had the worst season of their history. Gasol will be an unrestricted free agent this summer after turning in a solid 2013-14 season based on statistical output.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol (vertigo) has been ruled out for the rest of the regular season.

He's well enough to travel with the team and will be in street clothes on the bench against Memphis, Utah and San Antonio. Doctors believe Gasol will be ready to play in a couple weeks, but that's obviously a moot point with the Lakers having the worst season in the history of their franchise. Jordan Hill should be viewed as a must-start player the rest of the way.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol (vertigo) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. Memphis.

This move was expected as the Lakers have nothing to play for. Steve Nash (nerves) and Chris Kaman (calf) will join Gasol on the sidelines, which means that Jordan Hill will start, and he is in line for big minutes.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol has been going through therapy everyday to treat his vertigo.

"I'm in therapy for an hour and a half everyday," said Gasol. With the Lakers having absolutely nothing to play for, it's unlikely that Gasol will suit up for Sunday's game vs. Memphis. That means that Jordan Hill will draw another start, and he makes for a fine plug-and-play option.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol (vertigo) and Steve Nash (nerves) did not practice on Saturday, while Chris Kaman (calf) went through limited activities.

This basically rules out Gasol and Nash for Sunday's game vs. Memphis, after which the Lakers only have two games remaining in the regular season. It's increasingly unlikely that either veteran will take the court again this season, which leaves more opportunities for guys like Jordan Hill and Jordan Farmar.
Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol (vertigo), Chris Kaman (calf) and Steve Nash will not play against the Warriors on Friday.

The prevailing thought around the team is that Gasol is out for the season and the evidence certainly supports that. He's missed his last four games and tonight will be his ninth total game off the court due to vertigo. His fantasy owners can cut him just about everywhere. Jordan Hill will step in and serves as a very strong start, especially after what Timofey Mozgov did to the Warriors on Thursday.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol (vertigo) is officially listed as doubtful for Friday's game.

There's a good chance that Pau is done for the season, though he's feeling better and continues to be re-evaluated every day. Although it hasn't drawn much attention, Gasol will be one of the more talented players to hit the free agent market this summer.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol (vertigo) said on Tuesday that it's "unlikely" he'll play again this season, but that he is also still undergoing daily evaluation.

It's hard to imagine Gasol coming back to play in meaningless games for the Lakers, so owners can go ahead and drop him if you need a healthy body for the stretch run. Jordan Hill, Ryan Kelly and Robert Sacre are all options that will help eat up the minutes created by Pau's absence.
Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol (vertigo) and Chris Kaman (calf) will not play against the Rockets on Tuesday.

Gasol was feeling a little better on Sunday and was actually on the bench against the Clippers, but the Lakers are in no rush to bring him back with their disastrous season ending next week. Considering he's already been ruled out for tomorrow, he could miss multiple games. Jordan Hill makes for a strong start while Ryan Kelly and Robert Sacre also benefit.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol (vertigo) has been ruled out for Sunday's game.

The Lakers are reportedly in favor of shutting Pau down for the season, but for now he remains day-to-day following the "severe recurrence" of his illness. With Chris Kaman (calf) also slated to sit out Sunday, fantasy owners can more confidently deploy Jordan Hill, while extra minutes will also be available for Ryan Kelly and Robert Sacre.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

According to the LA Times, the Lakers are leaning toward shutting down Pau Gasol (vertigo) for the season.

Gasol has already been ruled out of Friday's game against the Mavs after a severe recurrence of vertigo kept him confined in the team hotel Wednesday night. Given that there are only six games left in the Lakers' miserable season after that, throwing in the towel makes sense. Gasol, an impending free agent, may have played his last game in purple and gold. With Chris Kaman nursing a right calf injury, Jordan Hill is worth a look as a plug-n-play.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol (vertigo) did fly back to Los Angeles with the team following Wednesday night's game.

He stayed at a Sacramento hotel due to a "severe recurrence of vertigo" and missed his fifth game since Mar. 23. Gasol should be considered questionable for Friday's game against the Mavericks. If he sits Jordan Hill will look to build off an 18-point, 15-board game from Wednesday. Ryan Kelly would also get more playing time with Chris Kaman's (calf) status up in the air.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol (vertigo) is dealing with a "severe recurrence of vertigo" and he will not play on Wednesday vs. the Kings.

He is at a Sacramento hotel and will fly back to Los Angeles as soon as he's able. Gasol returned on Tuesday night after missing four games and he should also be considered extremely questionable for Friday night. This news puts Jordan Hill, who was a DNP-CD on Tuesday, back in the rotation while Ryan Kelly and Robert Sacre should step up. Chris Kaman (calf) is a game-time decision.
Apr 2 - 5:29 PM
Pau Gasol - F/C - Lakers

Pau Gasol's status for Wednesday's game depends upon how he feels after shootaround.

Gasol said that he felt tired while playing 28 minutes on Tuesday, and even suggested that he returned too soon after missing four games due to vertigo. Owners will simply have to stay tuned for updates on his status -- if he can't play Jordan Hill should regain a spot in the rotation, with Robert Sacre also stepping into a bigger role off the bench.
