Pau Gasol hit five of his eight field goal attempts, including both of his 3-pointer tries, to finish with 14 points and four rebounds over 21 minutes in Monday's blowout win against the Cavaliers.
Gasol has been coming off the bench with Dewayne Dedmon starting, almost splitting the minutes. However, the veteran Gasol is the big man you want between the two, as he has much more scoring upside without losing much in rebounds. Gasol is also a solid option from behind the arc, hitting nine triples on 13 tries over the past five outings. Mar 28 - 12:03 AM

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol scored 19 points with 10 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three 3-pointers in 26 minutes against the Knicks on Saturday.

He's been kind of ridiculous as a jump shooter. Since returning from injury, Gasol has made 7-of-8 on corner treys to go with his 51.5 percent on above the breaks for his 24 total treys in 16 games. His defense isn't great, but his shooting has made the San Antonio offense especially tough to guard. Keep him rolling and hope he doesn't rest in back-to-back sets.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol scored 22 points to go along with nine rebounds, two steals and a pair of 3-pointers in Sunday's 118-102 win against the Kings.

Gasol's 22 points were his most since he posted 24 points in a game in Sacramento back on Nov. 16. Apparently there is something about the purple and slate gray that he enjoys seeing on the other side of the court. He has bagged six 3-pointers over the past four games and he is averaging 8.3 rebounds per game during the span. Gasol plays with a bit of a minutes cap to preserve him for the postseason, but he continues to turn in decent stat lines for his fantasy owners.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol was quiet vs. the Grizzlies on Saturday, scoring eight points with nine rebounds and one assist.

He made 3-of-5 shots from the field, his ninth game of the season with five or fewer FGAs. The good news is that he only played 24 minutes, so that means he has a good chance of playing on Sunday vs. the Kings on the second night of a back-to-back set. It also helps that the Spurs are 3.0 games behind the Warriors for the top seed in the West.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol scored 10 points with seven rebounds, three assists and one block in 20 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.

With LaMarcus Aldridge (heart) out indefinitely, there should be plenty of minutes and shots going to Gasol. Sure, he will have some rest days mixed in, but Gasol should be a must-start player for the vast majority of games.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol scored 18 points with seven rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointers against the Thunder on Thursday.

He had a mini two-game slump with just 15 points combined in wins over the Kings and Rockets. Even with those bad games, Gasol's post-break averages were 13.6 points, 7.0 boards, 1.7 assists, 1.0 blocks and an incredible 1.6 treys in his seven previous games. He's actually made 59.1 percent from deep since the break, which is obviously not sustainable. He's still looking like a must-start player.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol was eerily quiet vs. the Rockets on Monday, scoring eight points on 3-of-12 shooting in just 17 minutes.

This was his worst game since returning from his hand injury, but it simply wasn't a good matchup for him. He added six rebounds with one assist, one block and one triple, but the good news is that starting center Dewayne Dedmon played just nine minutes. Gasol was averaging 16.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 blocks and 2.0 triples in his previous five games, and with the Spurs in the hunt for the No. 1 seed, he may not be rested as much as coach Gregg Popovich would like.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol scored 17 points with eight rebounds, three assists, one block and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes against the Wolves on Saturday.

He continues to come off the bench, but that's totally fine because it'll take him away from the higher-usage guys. Pau did close this game out, but that was because Dewayne Dedmon fouled out in his 18 minutes. Gasol looks great and should be owned in all leagues. It also helps that the Spurs have a chance at the No. 1 seed now, so Pau is less likely to be rested.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol came off the bench on Wednesday with 18 points on 4-of-7 FGs and 8-of-8 FTs, four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two 3-pointers in just 21 minutes of action.

Gregg Popovich confirmed that he prefers Dewayne Dedmon with the starting unit, and Gasol said he "want[s] to be real mature about this and really wise. [I] understand what’s best for the team is not really what’s best for me." Pau added that it's been an "adjustment" coming off the bench, but you can't tell from his play -- among other things, he's a combined 8-of-10 from deep in his past three games.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol scored 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting in 20 minutes off the bench Sunday, to go with seven boards, two 3-pointers, one steal and one block.

Gregg Popovich is easing Gasol back into things after he spent a little over a month on the sidelines, but he should be back in the starting five soon enough. Dewayne Dedmon put up 11 points, nine boards, three assists, one steal and one turnover through 20 minutes as a starter, but his minutes will likely head back to the teens once Gasol makes his way back into the starting lineup.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol scored 17 points in his return to the lineup against the Clippers on Friday, adding 11 rebounds, two assist, one block and three 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

Those three treys are the most he's made as a Spur. Gasol had one of the wildest injuries of the season when he broke his hand while in layup lines before the game on Jan. 19. The 36-year-old Gasol will likely be getting some days off with the Spurs comfortably in the No. 2 spot and also Dewayne Dedmon will be used as a defensive stopper to offset Gasol's struggles on that end. That said, the future Hall of Fame big man should be owned in all leagues now that he's back.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol (hand) will come off the bench on Friday vs. the Clippers.

He's been out since Jan. 19, so this move is designed to limit Gasol's minutes in his first game back. Make sure he's not sitting on the waiver wire even though he has taken a noticeable step back in terms of fantasy value this season. Dewayne Dedmon will draw the start at least one more time, but he's an easy drop candidate.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Coach Gregg Popovich confirmed that Pau Gasol (hand) will play Friday night vs. the Clippers.

Gasol has not suited up since breaking his hand in pregame warmups back on January 19th. The 2016-17 campaign has been a disappointing one for Gasol. He is averaging career-lows in many statistical categories, including points (11.7) and minutes (26.4). He ranks just outside the top-80 overall in nine-category fantasy leagues this season. Gasol's return will eat into the minutes of David Lee, Dewayne Dedmon and Davis Bertans.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol (hand) remains hopeful he will play on Friday against the Clippers and is listed as probable.

This has been the story all along for the Spurs, who sit comfortably in the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference. Additionally, the Spurs have been extremely quiet on trade front. They actually haven't made a draft day deal since trading away of Nando De Polo for Austin Daye in 2014 (hat tip to San Antonio Express-News). Gasol's return will take minutes from Dewayne Dedmon, Davis Bertans and David Lee.
Feb 23 - 11:08 AM
Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Gregg Popovich again stated on Wednesday that he expects Pau Gasol (hand) to be cleared to return to action after the All-Star break.

Gasol was spotted going through some light shooting drills on Wednesday, and it sounds likely that he'll be back in action after the break. Gasol is having a down year in San Antonio with just seventh-round value on the season, but he's still worth owning just about everywhere. His return to the court will seriously cut into the value of David Lee, Dewayne Dedmon and Davis Bertans.
