Pau Gasol said the Bulls should play with a "better flow offensively" with Fred Hoiberg as head coach.
Gasol is simply pointing out the obvious. More interestingly, however, is that Gasol revealed he has no idea if he'll be starting or coming off the bench under Hoiberg in his first year. "It's not that I see myself starting, I have to work and earn that," he said. "I don't know if my role is going to change at all, specifically," Gasol added. After averaging 18.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks on 49.4 percent shooting in his debut season with the Bulls, it's hard to see Gasol coming off the bench. Aug 3 - 9:28 AM

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol said that he didn't know why the Bulls fell short in the playoffs last season, but he admitted that there were some instances in which his team wasn't ready to play.

"It’s hard to pinpoint the specific reasons," Gasol said. "There was definitely an inconsistency throughout the year. We were kind of a very up-and-down team even though we finished third in the conference. We still had a lot of games that we just weren’t ready to play, just too many games we gave away against teams that we were supposed to beat." The Bulls will have a fresh start with Fred Hoiberg at the helm, but it's still unclear if there will be any lineup or rotation changes. Gasol's role should be safe, but his minutes could dip slightly with Nikola Mirotic, Taj Gibson and Joakim Noah all fighting for minutes.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol believes that the Bulls have a very strong team and that they can build off what they did last season.

"We have a very strong team. There are very few changes made as far as our roster. We can build on what we had last year." Gasol said. "I think with Fred [Hoiberg] we’re going to have more freedom to play in transition and explore our abilities as individuals and as a team." The Bulls roster as a whole should benefit in Hoiberg's up-tempo system, but it's still going to be hard for Gasol to match his 2014-15 season averages of 18.5 points, 11.8 boards, 2.7 assists and 1.9 blocks per game.

Pau Gasol confirmed that he will play for Spain at Eurobasket this summer.

Gasol has been mulling over this decision for a while now, but Spain has to be thrilled with this news after the season he just had with the Bulls. Gasol posted averages of 18.5 points, 11.8 boards, 2.7 assists and 1.9 blocks per game this season, but it's important to note that he will be turning 35 this summer, meaning prospective owners should expect a slight dip in production next season.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol is reportedly warming up to the idea of playing for Spain at Eurobasket this summer.

Gasol is coming off one of the best seasons of his storied career, but he will be turning 35 this summer. He will likely announce his decision in Madrid on Wednesday, so it seems like he is going to suit up for his country. He averaged 18.5 points, 11.8 boards, 2.7 assists and 1.9 blocks in 78 appearances for the Bulls this season, but he will have a difficult time replicating those numbers next season.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol returned to action on Thursday during a loss to the Cavs, finishing with eight points, five rebounds, one assist and two turnovers.

He looked a little slow out there and the Bulls deep group of big men couldn't hang with Tristan Thompson and Timofey Mozgov. Gasol and the Bulls should have a similar roster heading into next season and Gasol will look to repeat with his first-round fantasy value. He'll be 35 this summer, so it's going to be tough to double down on him next season.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol (hamstring) will start against the Cavs on Thursday night.

According to coach Tom Thibodeau, Gasol's mobility seemed fine at shootaround and he was a full participant. He is less than 100 percent and 30 minutes seems like a fair over/under for tonight.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol (hamstring) will play in Game 6 against the Cavaliers on Thursday, as per Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau.

This is great news for the Bulls as they head into an elimination game on Thursday. Gasol's minutes and range will likely be limited, so fantasy owners will want to take that into account before rostering him on Thursday. With Gasol's return, Joakim Noah, Nikola Mirotic, and Taj Gibson will all see a dip in playing time in Game 6.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol (hamstring) said he plans to play in Game 6 against the Cavaliers on Thursday.

Gasol did some running and was seen taking free throws and jumpers, but said he has not attempted to jump. ''I'll be out there,'' Gasol said before being asked at what percentage. ''I don't know, but whatever percentage I will be, that's what I'll give." The Bulls will need everything they can get from Gasol as they face a win-or-go-home situation, but we'll keep his status updated as more information becomes available leading up to tip off.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol (hamstring) is probable to play against the Cavs on Thursday.

This coincides with Pau saying he is going to try to play. Gasol did add he is likely going to have a minutes limit, so we're not expecting him to play more than 30 minutes. His minutes will come from Nikola Mirotic, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol (hamstring) said it might not be wise to play his normal minutes upon his return to the lineup, but he said he will try to play in Game 6 on Thursday.

In other words, don't expect Gasol to get more than 30 minutes on Thursday. He might even see less playing time than that, too. While Gasol sounds like he'll go, Taj Gibson is likely to get more playing time while Nikola Mirotic may have also lost some playing time because his poor offensive play. Gasol is going to be a game-time decision to play at all.
May 13 - 3:58 PM
Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol (hamstring) will be a game-time decision on Thursday.

He went through the entire walkthrough in practice on Wednesday, which is a lot more that he's been doing. The Bulls may have been fine without Pau, but Nikola Mirotic just can't get it going and Derrick Rose hasn't been able to score efficiently. Tomorrow's shootaround is unlikely to give us much more of an update and we probably won't have another noteworthy update until Thursday night. Of course, if he can't go through shootaround on Thursday because of soreness from today, that would be a bad sign.
May 13 - 3:05 PM
Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol is hopeful he'll be able to play in Game 6 against the Cavs on Thursday.

"If I’m able to run and able to play at a certain percentage above 50 percent, I’ll try to give it a go," said Gasol. "There’s still some steps that I need to get done in the next 48 hours in order to be able to play an NBA game." The Bulls will rely upon Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, and Nikola Mirotic to fill the void in Pau's absence for Game 5 tonight, and we'll continue to monitor his status very closely heading into Game 6 on Thursday. Expect another update following Thursday morning's shootaround.
May 12 - 6:32 PM
Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol (hamstring) has been ruled out for Game 5 against the Cavs on Tuesday.

Bulls' head coach Tom Thibodeau said that Gasol has improved a little bit, but Gasol said he still hasn't been able to run at full speed, and he wasn’t sure about is availability for Game 6 on Thursday. Gasol did add that this injury isn't as serious as his previous two hamstring injuries, so for now, we'll be considering him questionable for Game 6. Thibs gave heavy minutes to Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson during Game 4 sans Pau, and it should be more of the same tonight. Nikola Mirotic should play around 20 minutes off the bench.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Bulls' beat reporter K.C. Johnson is speculating that with how little Pau Gasol (hamstring) did during Tuesday morning's shootaround, he'd be surprised if Gasol is able to give it a go for Game 5 in Cleveland.

Gasol remains a game-time decision, but K.C. is a very reputable reporter, so it sounds like Gasol may indeed spend Game 5 in business attire. With Gasol unavailable, Chicago would again be forced to give heavy minutes to Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson (leg), with Nikola Mirotic playing extended minutes off the bench. Stay tuned.
