Pau Gasol (hand) is still considered questionable for Friday's game vs. the Nuggets.
He is dealing with a left hand sprain, but it sounds like he will be a game-time call. The Bulls can't afford to lose any more bigs to injury, so Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis could be forced to log heavy minutes vs. the Nuggets. The Bulls could also look to play some small ball with Doug McDermott at the four. Feb 5 - 1:56 PM

Pau Gasol (left hand sprain) is being listed as questionable for Friday's game vs. the Nuggets.

It's unclear exactly when Gasol suffered the injury, but if he's forced to the sidelines on Friday night, Bobby Portis would more than likely enter the starting five and he'd make for an excellent low-budget DFS play with a favorable matchup against Denver. Check back for another update on Pau following Friday morning's shootaround.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

The Bulls may not be done exploring the trade market for Pau Gasol, according to sources of K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

The Bulls would like to re-sign Gasol as a free agent this offseason, but only at their price. Chicago may not be able to compete with some of the offers Pau will receive on the open market, and if they feel that they won't be able to retain him as an unrestricted free agent, they may elect to trade him away and start rebuilding around Jimmy Butler, Nikola Mirotic, Bobby Portis and Doug McDermott. As for fantasy hoops, Gasol's value will be safe regardless of what jersey he's wearing.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol scored 19 points in 40 minutes against the Jazz on Monday, adding eight rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.

He only played 29 minutes in a blowout loss on Sunday, so coach Fred Hoiberg gave him some serious burn. Gasol would have played more, but he fouled out in OT. Shockingly, Gasol hasn't committed six personal fouls in a game since Feb. 23, 2011. He'll be a fantasy stud as long as he's healthy.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

In an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio, Pau Gasol said that the Bulls "lack discipline."

We don't have the full context of the quote, but this comes a day after a 27-point blowout loss to a Clippers team that is playing without Blake Griffin. Despite Chicago's inconsistencies, Gasol has been fantastic in his contract season, averaging 16.6 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.1 blocks and 0.5 steals on 47.3 percent shooting. Unlike most players at this stage of their careers, Gasol is in line for a raise on his next deal.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol double-doubled in 29 minutes during Sunday's blowout loss to the Clippers, tallying 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting with 14 rebounds, five assists and four turnovers.

Pau is in a contract year, and he’s been nothing short of elite this season posting averages of 16.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.1 blocks and 2.0 turnovers per game on 47.0 percent shooting from the field and 79.5 percent from the stripe. That’s been good enough for top-20 value, and as long as the 35-year-old can stay healthy, he’s not going to dip from his early-round evaluation.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol scored 21 points with 12 rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one block in 31 minutes against the Lakers on Thursday.

Gasol crushed his former team, which isn't a surprise. After the game on TNT, Gasol said "it's hard to see how things have changed" with the Lakers. The Bulls are likely going to re-sign Gasol, so he is very unlikely to be dealt. He should be a top-20 player this season.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

The Bulls are reportedly no longer looking to deal Pau Gasol, as they'd prefer to re-sign him as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

The Bulls were reportedly quietly checking on deals for Gasol before the Joakim Noah (shoulder) injury, but now with Nikola Mirotic (appendectomy) set to spend an extended amount of time on the sidelines, dealing away Pau is no longer something Chicago is interested in. Pau is having himself another top-20 season, and that trend will continue as long as he can stay healthy.
Jan 27 - 6:44 PM
Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol scored 19 points with 17 rebounds, two assists and two blocks during an 89-84 loss to the Heat on Monday.

He was the first player to put up a double-double in the first quarter this season with 13 and 10, but he didn't do much after that. Gasol and basically every Bull in the rotation should have more shots going their way with Derrick Rose (hamstring) getting hurt tonight and likely to miss time.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol scored 25 points in Saturday's win over the Cavaliers, adding 10 boards, six assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes.

The Cavs had no answer for Gasol as he was able to shoot 11-of-16 from the field. Since his one-point dud vs. the Warriors on Wednesday, Gasol has responded with two straight double-doubles and he looks relatively healthy as well after complaining about shoulder and Achilles issues last week.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol missed all eight shots from the field and scored one point against the Warriors on Wednesday, adding eight rebounds and one block in 24 minutes.

He's only had one scoreless game in his career and that was because he was hurt in the first quarter against the New Orleans Hornets in 2008. Gasol is coming off a 31-point game on Monday, so the law of averages had its say today. He'll be fine and gets the Celtics on Friday.
Jan 20 - 11:16 PM
Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol went off for a season-high 31 points in Monday's 111-101 win over the Pistons, adding 12 boards, three assists, three blocks, one steal and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes.

Gasol is apparently dealing with a sprained shoulder and a sore Achilles, so the Bulls are playing with fire considering that they have let him play 36 minutes in two straight games. He recently said that he will "push it until the wheels off," so it doesn't sound like he will miss any time. The Bulls could be looking to deal Gasol since he can walk in free agency this summer, but nothing is imminent. His value should be safe as long as he can stay somewhat healthy.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol said that he intends to keep playing despite dealing with a sprained shoulder and sore Achilles.

"I like to push it until the wheels fall off," said Gasol. "Hopefully, it won't get worse." It's a bit of a risky approach for the 35-year-old veteran, but with Joakim Noah (shoulder) done for the year, the Bulls need Pau more than ever. He returned from a one-game absence on Friday, and scored 17 points to go with a full stat line, so owners can plan on having him active for Monday’s game vs. the Pistons.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

According to USA Today, the Bulls were quietly checking into deals for Pau Gasol before Joakim noah (shoulder) went down.

Gasol is going to opt out of the final year of his contract this summer, but he has a short list of teams who he is willing to sign with which will make it tough for Chicago to deal him. The Noah injury will drastically reduce the chances that the Bulls would move Gasol unless they plan on giving up on their title hopes. For now, no trade is imminent and Gasol's owners shouldn't be concerned.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol (Achilles, shoulder) returned on Friday against the Mavs during an 83-77 loss, scoring 17 points with eight rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks in 36 minutes.

Just when it looked like his minutes might be dropping down to the low 30s, they will likely be in the 34-37 range now with Joakim Noah (shoulder) having a serious injury tonight. If Gasol can stay healthy, he'll be a fantasy monster.
