Pau Gasol (right wrist sprain) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. Brooklyn.
Gasol told reporters on Monday that the nagging injury is hampering him. "I can't really bend it much," Gasol said. "It's been building up. I jammed it and it's been a little swollen." The Spurs are notoriously cautious with their injured players, so it certainly wouldn't be surprised if Gasol was sidelined on Wednesday. If Gasol is ruled out, Davis Bertans and Joffrey Lauvergne would likely pick up most of his minutes. Bertans would be the more attractive streaming option and could be worth a look as a risky DFS punt. Jan 16 - 5:48 PM

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol revealed after Monday's game that he's been dealing with a right (shooting) hand injury.

"I can't really bend it much," Gasol said. "It's been building up. I jammed it and it's been a little swollen. I decided to play [Monday]." It sounds like Gasol's ability to play will be dependent on pain tolerance, but knowing the Spurs, he could certainly hit the sidelines on Wednesday in Brooklyn. If he does need to miss time, Davis Bertans and Joffrey Lauvergne would likely pick up most of his minutes. Stay tuned.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol had 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer vs. the Blazers on Sunday.

Gasol hit 6-of-11 FGs and 3-of-5 FTs in 28 minutes of action tonight, his highest playing time since Dec. 26. This was the first game of a back-to-back set, however, and based on Pau's workload he could get a rest day vs. the Kings on Monday. With luck, the Spurs will clarify which veterans might be rested after shootaround.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

The Spurs will start Dejounte Murray, Bryn Forbes, Kyle Anderson, LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol on Sunday.

San Antonio is short-handed tonight without Kawhi Leonard (shoulder) and Danny Green (groin), and they're also resting Tony Parker. Patty Mills was a big winner off the bench the last time this lineup started a game, while Forbes played 41 minutes, but there are no certainties when it comes to Gregg Popovich's rotations.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol went scoreless in 13 minutes vs. Philly on Wednesday, finishing with four assists, three rebounds and zero defensive stats.

The Spurs rested four key rotation players tonight, and Gasol was effectively rested himself -- he didn't play for the final 20:37 of a close game. Despite occasional disappearances, the 37-year-old stalwart is still posting mid-round value on a per-game basis. Owners will just have to take the good with the bad, or try to trade him if he gets hot.
Jan 3 - 10:21 PM
Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol had 17 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and a 3-pointer on 7-of-11 shooting in Thursday's 119-107 win over the Knicks.

Gasol is hot right now after triple-doubling on Saturday and posting double-doubles in his last two games. He's playing like a must-start guy right now, but owners have to pay careful attention to the news feed as Gasol can be rested on any given night. And if you're tired of the uncertainty that comes with owning him (he's missed two of his last 10 games), now looks like a great sell-high opportunity on Gasol.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol hit 6-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers for 15 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and a block in 29 minutes of Tuesday's 109-97 win over the Nets.

Gasol had a nice 14-11-10 triple-double on Saturday and has played very well in two straight after sitting out last Thursday. He'll hopefully be safe to play this Thursday and Saturday, but the Spurs have a back-to-back set next Tuesday and Wednesday, meaning he's a strong candidate to sit in one of those games.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol (groin) is good to go for Saturday against the Kings.

He was called out on Friday and probable this afternoon, but there's no word of Gasol being limited. Fire him up in all leagues.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol (groin) has been upgraded to probable to face the Kings on Saturday.

Oh, Spurs. Coach Gregg Popovich said Gasol was out yesterday, but now he's probable. The Spurs are all over the place with their injury reporting, so it's hard to make heads or tails of anything. If Gasol does go, he could have a minutes limit. We'll add this shouldn't be treated like your normal probable tag.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol (groin) and Danny Green (groin) have now been ruled out for Saturday's game vs. the Kings.

Both players were listed as questionable less than an hour ago, but coach Gregg Popovich went ahead and ruled them out. This will now give Pau plenty of rest before their next game on Dec. 26. Joffrey Lauvergne had 11 points with six rebounds in the starting lineup on Thursday and will be a low-end streaming option vs. the Kings.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol (groin) and Danny Green (groin) are questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Kings.

Gasol sat out of the second night of a back-to-back set on Thursday as he continues to battle tightness in his groin. This is a game that the Spurs should win comfortably, so maybe they hold Gasol out since they have a few days offer after that one. If Gasol sits, Joffrey Lauvergne will have to step up again after scoring 11 points with six rebounds on Thursday.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol (groin) and Danny Green (groin) are out vs. the Jazz on Thursday.

This is the second night of a back-to-back set, so Gasol may not have played even if he was 100 percent, especially since he played 33 minutes. Expect to see more small-ball lineups tonight in addition to more minutes for Joffrey Lauvergne and Davis Bertans.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Updating a previous report, Pau Gasol (right groin tightness) and Danny Green (groin) are listed as questionable for Thursday's game vs. Utah.

The Spurs' official Twitter account initially listed both players as 'Out' for tonight's game, but in fact they are questionable. Gasol logged 33 minutes while putting up a huge 20/17/5 line on Wednesday, so San Antonio could simply rest him in the second half of this back-to-back set. Check back closer to tip-off

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol roared back on Wednesday with 20 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and two blocks, making 8-of-14 FGs and 3-of-3 FTs in 33 minutes vs. the Blazers.

This is sweet relief for Pau's fantasy owners, given his dreadful play lately -- in four games since getting a DNP on Dec. 9, he was averaging 3.0 points on 21.1 percent shooting. Seemingly out of nowhere, he finished tonight's road win with the first 20/15/5 game by a Spurs player since Tim Duncan in 2014. If he strings together a few more strong games, consider seeing what you can get in the trade market.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol hit 2-of-7 shots for eight points, 12 rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in 22 minutes in Monday's 109-91 blowout win over the Clippers.

Gasol had scored a grand total of four points in his previous three games, and you can make that four games if you count his day off on Dec. 9. The Spurs still rolled the Clippers without a problem tonight and Gasol is old enough that owners should be worried about him getting rest throughout the rest of the regular season. Gregg Popovich has one goal with Gasol, and that's to have him healthy when the playoffs start. Gasol is now averaging 3.0 points over his last four games.
