According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bulls have not guaranteed Pau Gasol that he'll be a starter this season.
Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson were Tom Thibodeau's preferred frontcourt pair in fourth quarters last season, and it's conceivable that Gasol will anchor the Bulls' bench as a sixth man. This report came in the context of Chicago's ongoing pursuit of Kevin Love, so fantasy owners shouldn't overreact -- we'll keep a close eye on the Bulls' rotations throughout training camp and the preseason. Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol said he turned down more lucrative offers before joining the Bulls.

"Money obviously wasn't the priority," Gasol said. "I turned down bigger offers and I prioritized being on a championship caliber team." He added that he wants to help Nikola Mirotic develop, which sounds great for the Bulls because of the similarities between the two players. The Bulls have a loaded frontline and will look to compete for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. Gasol's fantasy value takes a bit of a hit, but he's still a guy to target in the early middle rounds.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

The Chicago Bulls will introduce free agents Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic on Friday.

Gasol and Mirotic will be introduced at a press conference that starts at 11:30 CST on Friday. Gasol should retain fantasy value as he will likely start alongside Joakim Noah (and keep Taj Gibson in his sixth-man role), while Mirotic faces an NBA learning curve and crunch for playing time that should keep him off standard league fantasy radars.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol's contract with the Bulls is worth approximately $22 million over three years.

There's no word yet on whether the deal includes team or player options, but either way this is a solid value for Chicago. Gasol should start alongside Joakim Noah with Taj Gibson playing his typical sixth-man role, and it will be interesting to see whether coach Tom Thibodeau sticks with Gasol to close games or subs him out for his usual end-game frontcourt of Noah and Gibson.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol is finalizing a contract with the Bulls, according to ESPN.com.

It is not a sign and trade and he confirmed his deal on Twitter. The terms of the deal should be coming momentarily, which should be in the neighborhood of $10 million. For the Bulls, this deal basically means they're done with much of their cap space taken up. Still, it is a nice signing to help the Bulls on offense. Pau's fantasy value does take a hit, though.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Updating a previous item, the Rockets are not involved in a three-team trade centered on Pau Gasol.

This is good news for the Rockets because they would likely be getting Carlos Boozer, which is a bit of a downgrade from Terrence Jones. Gasol's deal is expected to get done today and he'll almost certainly wind up with the Bulls, according to ESPN.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

The Lakers, Bulls and Rockets are working on a sign-and-trade deal involving Pau Gasol.

The Bulls are basically on the goal line to get Gasol, so it's more of just a matter of how they'll bring him on board. Gasol seems to be willing to take a major pay cut from his $14 million last year and would be a nice fit next to Joakim Noah. Stay tuned.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol has "virtually closed" a deal with the Bulls and he plans to complete a physical before returning to Spain in the coming days, according to Marca.com.

The deal is believed to be a sign-and-trade with the Lakers, though specifics have not yet emerged. The Lakers reportedly want Gasol to play in the Eastern Conference if he's not in L.A., which also works in Chicago's favor, and it seems like a matter of time before he's wearing a Bulls uniform.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

The Bulls and free agent Pau Gasol are working to complete an agreement according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

This means that Carmelo Anthony is probably staying in New York, but keeping it on Gasol the signing makes the Bulls a legitimate threat in the East. He will fit in nicely with a frontcourt starring Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson, and assuming everybody stays healthy he can coast through a reduced workload on his way to a productive year.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Unrestricted free agent Pau Gasol has reportedly turned down a two-year offer worth over $10 million with the Lakers.

Pau has likely spent his last days in a Lakers uniform, and that would narrow down the choices to the Knicks, Spurs, Bulls, and Thunder. It's not really clear which team Pau favors, but he said on his Twitter account that he is nearing a decision. Stay tuned.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Jose Calderon has joined the Knicks' pitch to sign free agent Pau Gasol.

The Knicks have a few things going for them, including Gasol's familiarity with Calderon, his success playing in the triangle offense, and the multicultural appeal of NYC. What they can't do is offer Gasol nearly as much money as the Lakers -- Phil Jackson admitted that it "might not be possible" to clear more salary-cap space for Gasol, who is also being pursued by the Bulls, Spurs and Thunder.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Phil Jackson told reporters on Thursday that he has reached out to Pau Gasol about joining the Knicks.

Jackson also mentioned that he knows his team does not have the money that someone like Pau demands on the open market, but he is hoping his relationship with Gasol will persuade him to join the Knicks. The list of suitors for Gasol has become quite long, as the Bulls, Lakers, Spurs and Thunder all hope to land the talented big man.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

The Bulls hope to acquire Pau Gasol by packaging Carlos Boozer's expiring contract in a sign-and-trade.

The Bulls can still amnesty Carlos Boozer's $16.8 million contract, but they are hoping to use his expiring money as trade bait. Now that it appears Chicago is out of the running of Carmelo Anthony, all signs point to the Bulls making a strong push for Pau Gasol. He is also being heavily courted by the Thunder, and Spurs, and Lakers.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

Pau Gasol met with Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak at the team's practice facility on Wednesday night.

The Lakers look like they're going to miss out on the big free agents, so they'll have tons of money to bring back Gasol. The Bulls could also pry Gasol from the Lakers and may be closer to competing for a title since they come out of the Eastern Conference. The Thunder and Spurs are also in the mix, but would only be able to offer him a small deal. Gasol's fantasy value would likely be maximized in Los Angeles.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are reportedly ready to intensify their pursuit of Pau Gasol.

The Bulls have not been told they are out of the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes, but are preparing a full-court press for Gasol if Anthony announces his return to the Knicks on Thursday as is expected. The Spurs are also pushing hard for the big man, but the Bulls are thought to be the frontrunner with a sign-and-trade with the Lakers involving Carlos Boozer's salary being the likely trade chip. We'll update this situation more as it unfolds, but Gasol's fantasy value may take a bit of a hit in Chicago as he'd be fighting for minutes with Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson.
