Pau Gasol was held to a single point in Monday's win over the Raptors, adding seven rebounds with four assists and three blocks in 22 minutes.
Gasol was 0-of-6 from the field and this was his lowest scoring game since he failed to score against the Celtics on Nov. 15, 2016. He's now averaging 6.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 blocks in just under 24 minutes per game, and maybe he gets a small bump in playing time if Joffrey Lauvergne misses time with a sprained right ankle. Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists with three turnovers across 20 minutes in Saturday's win in Chicago.

Gasol made just 3-of-8 from the field for the second consecutive outing and he missed his only 3-point attempt in an ugly game against his former employer. You can't say Gasol isn't at least consistent, as he also had seven rebounds and four assists in Wednesday's opener.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol (rest), Patty Mills (rest), Kyle Anderson (ankle) and Kawhi Leonard (quad) will not suit up for Sunday's preseason game against the Nuggets.

Gasol logged a decent amount of minutes this summer at the EuroBasket tournament, so the Spurs will be taking it easy on him during the preseason, and given his age, he'll likely be picking up some DNP-Olds during the regular-season as well. The Spurs take the floor again for a preseason matchup with the Magic on Tuesday, and for now, we'll be considering all these guys questionable for that one.
Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol dropped 10 pounds this summer.

Thin is in, you guys. Gasol's style of play changed last year as he became one of the most deadly shooters from the corner after the break. He'll be looking at minutes in the mid 20s this year, and he can be had cheaply towards the end of fantasy drafts.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol passed Tony Parker and became the all-time leading EuroBasket points scorer in Spain's 87-64 win over Hungary.

Gasol put up 20 points in just 19 minutes, shooting 6-of-12 from the field and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc with eight rebounds, two assists and a block. The Spanish superstar turned 37 in July, but that didn't stop the Spurs from giving him a three-year contract. With Gregg Popvocich expected to keep his workload in check all season, fantasy owners should wait until the later rounds before burning a draft pick on the veteran.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol double-doubled in his return to action on Tuesday, producing 11 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and two turnovers in a win over Team Croatia.

Team Spain elected to give the 37-year-old a rest day on Monday, with the Spanish team playing four games in five nights, and that's a decision that should be well-received by the Spurs' front office. Gasol will inevitably see more than a handful of DNP-Olds for the Spurs this season, and his numbers should continue on the downward trajectory that they've been on for three years running, so he's not a guy to look to until the later rounds on draft day.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol scored 26 points on 9-of-10 shooting in Spain's victory over the Czech Republic on Saturday.

Gasol also grabbed eight boards and knocked down all seven of his free throws. This was Gasol's 200th game as a member of the Spanish national team. He needs just 25 points to become the leading scorer in EuroBasket history. Because Gasol is 37 years old, the Spurs will continue to limit his minutes next season, which makes him an unattractive fantasy target, but he can still show flashes of brilliance.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol's deal with the Spurs is $48 million over three seasons.

That number is much higher than expected, especially for someone who recently turned 37. However, there is just a partial guarantee on the third season. Gasol averaged a career-low 25.6 minutes per game last season and that's unlikely to go up much with the Spurs bringing in Rudy Gay to play some PF. Fantasy owners also have to worry about him resting late in the season. Unless you can grab him late, Gasol won't be a recommended fantasy target.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol has agreed on a three-year deal to return to the Spurs.

There is only a partial guarantee on the third year of this deal for the Spaniard. It's a nice deal for the 37-year-old big man, and he should be in a similar role. There was some talk of the Spurs going smaller with Rudy Gay (Achilles) now in the mix, but now they'll have to work in LaMarcus Aldridge and Gasol to their frontcourt rotation.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

The Spurs are reportedly working to finalize a deal with unrestricted free agent Pau Gasol.

Gasol opted out of his contract back in June, but he did that to free up cap space for the Spurs, and the narrative has always been that he would eventually re-up with San Antonio on a long-term deal. Gasol was a top-75 option with the Spurs last season despite only playing 25.4 minutes a night, contributing averages of 12.4 points, 7.8 boards, 2.4 dimes, 0.9 triples and 1.1 blocks per contest. However, we'll likely see a slight regression in those numbers during his age-37 season.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol said he still has plenty left in the tank at the age of 37.

He also added that he's hoping to re-sign with the Spurs after recently declining his $16.2 million option for 2017-18. "I want to play the maximum number of seasons, as long as I feel good," he said. "I have played 16-years in the NBA and I hope to play some more, but I have to keep working and respect any injuries, as I have so far." Gasol only played 25.4 minutes per game in San Antonio last season and made just 64 appearances, so he won't be a recommended fantasy target next season if he returns to the Spurs.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Adrian Wojnarowski‏ of The Vertical is reporting that Pau Gasol will decline his $16.2 million option for 2017-18, but intends to work with the Spurs on a longer term deal to remain in San Antonio.

Gasol declining his player option gives the Spurs finical flexibility to pursue attractive free agents this summer. Woj adds that the plan is for Gasol to return to San Antonio on a multi-year deal, but at a smaller annual salary. Exactly how much money Pau is willing to sacrifice is unknown at this point. Gasol averaged just 25.4 minutes per game last season (he had previously never averaged fewer than 31 minutes a night). As a result, he posted career-lows in points (12.4) and assists (2.3).

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol came off the bench against the Warriors on Saturday, scoring 12 points with 10 rebounds, one assist and two turnovers in 21 minutes.

It was a mild surprise to see Davis Bertans and David Lee come in before Gasol, but Lee's injury may have brought Gasol in for more time than expected. With Lee likely out and LaMarcus Aldridge not playing well, maybe Gasol is looking at more minutes for Game 4.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Pau Gasol scored five points with two rebounds, one assists, one block, one steal and five fouls in 16 minutes against the Warriors in Game 1 on Sunday.

He was in foul trouble, but this just isn't his series. The Spurs surprisingly went with several two-big lineups for most of this game, but keep in mind Andre Iguodala was limited to prevent some of the deadly small-ball combos. While Gasol didn't play well, the Spurs did play well with some lineups consisting of David Lee and LaMarcus Aldridge. Don't expect Gasol to crack 20 minutes too often in this series.

Pau Gasol - F/C - Spurs

Patty Mills, Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol will start against the Warriors in Game 1 on Sunday.

The Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge combos didn't fare well against the Rockets, so coach Gregg Popovich may not go too heavy today. It does make sense to start Gasol and have him log most of his minutes against Zaza Pachulia, though. Gasol has played 24.2 minutes per game in the postseason so far, but there's a decent chance that number goes slightly down in this series.
