Joe Johnson hit 10-of-19 shots and three 3-pointers for 26 points, but didn't do much else in Wednesday's loss to the Hawks, his former team.
It's probably not a coincidence that his first 20-point game of January came against the Hawks, but he didn't get much revenge as they won their 17th straight game. Johnson's worth owning, but isn't a must-start player, and unfortunately, he can't play the Hawks every time out. Jan 29 - 1:34 AM

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

The Charlotte Hornets and the Brooklyn Nets have started trade conversations involving Joe Johnson and Lance Stephenson.

It's pretty obvious that the Hornets and Lance Stephenson aren't exactly on the same page, and with Brooklyn falling down the Eastern Conference standings it's not surprising to see them so open to moving Johnson's massive contract. Gerald Henderson and Marvin Williams are also said to be in the discussion, so this is definitely a move that could have some fantasy implications. Johnson's value would be fine in Charlotte, while Stephenson should see a much larger role in Brooklyn should he be traded there. Stay tuned.
Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson scored six points with one assist and one block in 29 minutes against the Jazz on Saturday.

Ouch. The Nets are a complete lost cause on offense right now. In fact, the Nets have not outscored Klay Thompson's third quarter from Friday in three of their last four halves of basketball. Johnson should still be considered as a hold in standard leagues.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson admitted that his recent slide is due to having to shoulder a larger load.

"Obviously, maybe some time off would probably be needed," he said. But with the Nets dealing with a lot of injuries, Johnson is "fighting through it." Johnson's last five games have seen him average just 11.6 points on 32.8 percent shooting, and he'll need to get back on track quickly for the Nets to stay above water.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson struggled in a win over the Wizards on Friday, making 2-of-11 from the field for six points with four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

He's in a slump over his last five, making just 31.3 percent from the field for averages of 11.2 points, 3.8 boards, 3.4 assists and 1.8 triples. Johnson is not likely to be traded and should have less talent around him, so that should give him more shots and a higher ceiling. Of course, he'll have to make them.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson hit just 3-of-12 shots for eight points, two rebounds, three assists, a steal and two 3-pointers in Wednesday's loss.

He had his double-digit scoring streak stopped at 10 games and has hit just 7-of-25 shots over his last two games, meaning he's due to break out in his next one.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson made 8-of-19 from the field for 18 points during a 96-88 overtime loss to the Mavericks on Monday with seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers.

He scored 19 points on 8-of-22 shooting on Sunday and has seen a spike in his usage lately. In his last five games, Johnson has averaged 17.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 0.4 steals and 1.6 treys. He should be a mid-round guy as long as Deron Williams (side) is out.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson stepped up for the Nets on Tuesday with 20 points, a season-high 11 rebounds and four steals, as Brooklyn cruised to a 96-82 road win in Chicago.

He made 8-of-14 shots including a 3-pointer, which snapped a three-game shooting slump and resulted in his 10th game with 20+ points this season. The 33-year-old Johnson is coming off an All-Star season and he has enough gas left in the tank to return mid-round fantasy value despite a near-total lack of defensive stats.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson finished Tuesday's win vs. the Nuggets with a game-high 27 points on 11-of-19 shooting, four 3-pointers, two rebounds, three assists and one steal.

Trade rumors have been swirling around the Nets, involving D-Will, Johnson and Brook Lopez, but beat writer Stefan Bondy reports that D-Will is the most likely of the three to be dealt. Johnson had a bigger offensive burden with Williams (calf) out again on Tuesday, and he's now scored double-digit points in eight straight games.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson was poked in the eye during Sunday's game, but he returned to finish with 16 points (5-of-9 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), two 3-pointers, three rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block.

He also turned the ball over five times in 37 minutes as he took on a bigger offensive role in the absence of Deron Williams (calf). Johnson appears fine and we're leaving him off the injury report, but it can't hurt to double-check his status prior to Tuesday's game vs. Denver.

Joe Johnson (eye) left Sunday's game against the Pistons, but has since returned and is available to play.

He was poked in his left eye by Josh Smith in the third quarter of Sunday's game, and briefly headed back to the locker room with a trainer. However, he is back on the bench and he looks like he is just fine. We will let you know how he fares after the game.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson posted a huge line in Friday's loss to the Cavs, scoring 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting (including four threes) with four rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block.

Johnson is rolling at a top 60-70 level and it's not a bad time to see what you can get back in a trade. The Nets don't have a lot to play for and theoretically he could get moved, though it's hard to see anybody biting on the $48 million he's earning this year and next.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson led the Nets to an easy win over the Hornets on Saturday, scoring 22 points to go with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and four 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

He had his way all game long and made Gerald Henderson look completely useless on the defensive end. Johnson had a slow game on Friday against the 76ers but it appears he is back on track after this performance. Despite all the trade rumors in Brooklyn, owners should continue to deploy Johnson as usual considering he is still putting up mid-round value.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson was quiet in his return to the lineup on Friday with 12 points, two rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.

He turned the ball over five times for a season high. Johnson is holding mid-round value on the season, but his field goal percentage is starting to take a hit. He should still be worth starting in standard leagues.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson said that he'll "definitely" play Friday vs. the 76ers.

"I’m definitely going to play," Johnson said. "I got here a little early, so I can try and get a little workout in… I felt pretty good. Still a little low on energy, but for the most part, I’ll be all right." Johnson's return to the lineup will likely send Alan Anderson back to the bench, and will hurt the value of Jarrett Jack. Go ahead and get Johnson active for what will be a very favorable matchup vs. the Tankers.
