Joe Johnson had 18 points, three 3-pointers, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals during Sunday's narrow victory vs. the Lakers.
Johnson's scoring has tailed off since the All-Star break (12.7 ppg) but he's revved the engine a bit over Brooklyn's past two games. The Nets are in the thick of the playoff race, which eliminates the risk of a DNP-CD for the 33-year-old Johnson, and he's safe to keep active as a low-end source of value. Mar 29 - 5:59 PM

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson slumpbusted in the Nets' big 106-98 win over the Cavs on Friday, scoring 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting (including three treys) with five rebounds and nine assists.

Johnson and the Nets have a four-game week upcoming so hopefully owners used that as a tie-breaker in his favor on a drop decision. Even if he limps along at a late-round value, he'll be worth using in lineups that week and he's a must-add player if he was dropped. The Nets are a half-game out of the playoffs and the next 7-10 days are not likely to be the time in which he taps out.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson struggled again on Wednesday, hitting just 2-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for five points, six rebounds and five assists.

Johnson has been a disaster lately, hitting just 5-of-20 shots in his last two games, as well as scoring six or fewer points in three of his last five. He'll probably get it turned around, but you also have to wonder if his old legs are running out of gas. He's tough to trust right now, obviously.
Mar 25 - 11:05 PM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson hit just 3-of-11 shots (no threes) for six points with three rebounds, one assist and one steal in Monday's loss.

Johnson is slowing down as the Nets continue to mail in their season. He won't be this bad on most nights, but he's not a must-own player at this time.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson slowed down against the Pacers on Saturday with 14 points, three rebounds and no other stats in 26 minutes.

He made 6-of-12 from the field and made 52.5 percent from the field in his last five, averaging 15.4 points, 4.2 boards, 2.8 dimes and 1.2 treys. Johnson isn't a complete must-own player, but he should flirt with top-125 value going forward.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson hit just 3-of-9 shots for six points, three boards and one assist in Wednesday's ugly loss to Cleveland.

Joe Cool went for 22 points on Monday and has been playing a little better lately, but bottomed out tonight. Hopefully this is just a blip on the radar and he'll bounce back against the Bucks on Friday.
Mar 18 - 10:42 PM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson scored 22 points on 10-of-14 shooting (including two threes) with five rebounds, three assists and two steals in Monday's easy win over the Wolves.

Johnson had been sliding but had a nice body of work including mid-round value for weeks before his recent mini-slump. Pick him up if he was dropped as he's not quite ready to call it a year just yet.
Mar 16 - 11:58 PM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson played 32 minutes against the 76ers on Saturday with 15 points, four rebounds and three assists.

He's been dealing with some knee and ankle soreness, so maybe that's why he's averaged just 11.4 points, 4.0 boards, 3.0 assists, 0.2 steals and 0.8 treys on 41.5 percent from the field in his last five. Johnson hasn't been in the top 200 for fantasy value in the last two weeks, but had been rolling at a mid-round pace for quite a bit prior to March. The Nets aren't exactly winning over hearts and minds with their effort, so he's on the verge of being cut in some formats.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

After battling tendinitis in his right knee and left ankle for most of the season, Joe Johnson admitted that this season has a taken a toll on his body.

"Obviously, a lot of minutes take a toll on you, but we all envisioned this team being pretty deep so guys won't have to log 40, 45 minutes," Johnson said. "And obviously, injuries happen. I had a stretch where I was playing at least 42, 44 minutes a night. It just happens. But it's no gripe on my part. I try to do whatever I can to help this team win, but it takes its toll on you." Johnson was kept on the bench during the closing moments of Friday's game vs. the Suns, which is quite unusual considering that he is known for his ability to produce in clutch situations. Regardless, we fully expect Johnson to be fine moving forward, and he should continue to be a must-own player as long as Brooklyn stays competitive in the Eastern Conference.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson didn't play in a clutch situation at the end of regulation on Friday, finishing with 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists and one 3-pointer.

Anyone who knows anything about Joe knows he's been one of the better players in clutch situations, so it was a surprise to see Alan Anderson out there on the court as regulation expired. Johnson played just 24 minutes on Wednesday, but he was at 36 minutes or more in his previous three. He should be fine and the Nets lost, so maybe coach Lionel Hollins doesn't misuse Joe again.
Mar 7 - 1:36 AM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson, who was pretty hot a few days ago, hit just 1-of-6 shots for two points in 24 minutes on Wednesday.

The Nets have sailed themselves out of the playoffs after going 4-6 in their last 10 games, but are only one game behind the Hornets for the No. 8 seed, with the Pacers sitting just above them in the standings. As for Johnson, he's been a disaster over his last two games, hitting 3-of-13 shots, scoring a total of seven points and doing nothing memorable in either game. Maybe he'll get it turned around in time to save your team, but his disappearing act came out of nowhere.
Mar 4 - 11:45 PM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson hit 9-of-17 shots for 21 points, 10 rebounds, a steal, a block and three 3-pointers in Wednesday's loss to the Pelicans.

This was Johnson's second double-double of the month and surprisingly, neither number is a season high for him. He's actually been playing very well lately, averaging 17.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 blocks and 2.2 3-pointers on 49 percent shooting over his last five games.
Feb 26 - 12:33 AM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson said the trade rumors are true about him being on the block and said "it's been kind of different" this year.

No team appears to be close on a Johnson deal despite how the Pistons were close earlier this month. Johnson's fantasy value would take a hit on another team, but his fantasy owners shouldn't panic yet. If he's dealt, Bojan Bogdanovic, Alan Anderson and maybe Markel Brown would get more playing time.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Updating a previous report, according to a league source familiar with the Nets' thinking, there is nothing to the Joe Johnson-to-Detroit story.

It doesn't make much sense for the Pistons to bring on Joe Johnson's contract, which would make it very difficult for them to sign Greg Monroe next season, and it's looking very unlikely that Johnson will be donning a Pistons' jersey any time in the near future. We'll continue to pass along updates as they become available, and while Johnson may be moved before the deadline, don't plan on that location being Detroit.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

The Pistons have reportedly reached out to the Nets to discuss the availability of Joe Johnson.

Detroit is reportedly offering a package of Brandon Jennings plus some expiring contracts, although bringing on Johnson's contract of $25 million next season is a confusing move for an organization that waived Josh Smith to give themselves some cap room next summer. Johnson could potentially slide into the starting small forward spot for the Pistons, and his value would be pretty much the same in Detroit, although he could potentially take away some minutes from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. To be clear, nothing is imminent at this point.
