Joe Johnson (plantar fasciitis) will not require surgery this summer.
Johnson struggled down the stretch and was awful in the Nets' Game 7 loss, and GM Billy King said that Johnson wouldn't have played in Games 1 and 2 if Brooklyn had advanced. "It was getting to the point where we were getting diminishing returns," said King. Injuries aside, that quote applies to Johnson's entire repertoire at this point in his career. May 5 - 8:28 PM

Joe Johnson (plantar fasciitis) withered away in Brooklyn's Game 7 defeat, scoring six points on 2-of-14 shooting, with all of his points coming in the second half.

Johnson was quickly exposed as a liability for the Nets. He was a wraith defensively, he bricked or passed up numerous open shots, and he attempted just one free throw all game. It was a massive flop for the Nets' highest-paid player, who earned $19.7 million this season and is owed another $69.5 million through 2015-16. Ideally a summer of rest and greater familiarity with his teammates will lead to success next season, but it's not a bet we'd make on draft day.

Joe Johnson (plantar fasciitis) and Andray Blatche (calf strain) will play through pain again Saturday night.

Neither player has missed a game in the series, although Johnson admitted he gets a painkilling shot before every game to treat the injury. The Bulls are extremely short handed with Luol Deng (illness) and Derrick Rose (knee surgery) still sidelined, Joakim Noah (foot) hobbled and Kirk Hinrich (calf) a game-time decision. If the Nets can't pull Game 7 out at home against that roster, there's going to be a lot of questions afterward.

Joe Johnson is taking a painkilling shot before every game to treat his plantar fasciitis.

It's time to be concerned heading into Thursday's Game 6 regarding Johnson's health. He admitted on Wednesday that he's "basically playing on one leg," and the fact that he's not practicing at all coupled with the painkilling injections has us worried about his long-term outlook. "I just try to get through it as much as possible," Johnson said.

Joe Johnson said that he's "basically playing on one leg."

Johnson said he'd be sitting out if he felt this way and it was the regular season. Iso-Joe has dealt with plantar fasciitis in his foot as well as a heel issue, and it's not looking like the heavy minutes he's playing is doing him any favors on the back end with his health. Despite the fact that he's not at full strength, Johnson will play as many minutes as he can handle in a must-win Game 6 on Thursday.

Joe Johnson hit a buzzer-beating shot to send Saturday's game to double-overtime in a losing effort and he had 22 points, three boards, one assist and one 3-pointer in 48 minutes.

He's been clutch all year and shot an absurd 72.7 percent from the field during the last 30 seconds of regular season games that were within five points. Johnson playing 48 minutes isn't going to his foot feel any better for Monday's game and there's a good chance he'll sit out of practice to rest up for the do-or-die game.

Nets coach P.J. Carlesimo confirmed Joe Johnson (plantar fasciitis) will play Saturday night.

This was entirely expected after Johnson was taken off the Nets' injury report after playing 41 minutes in Game 3. Johnson should be able to play his normal compliment of minutes, which will be big for a Nets team trying to dig out of 2-1 hole in their opening-round series.

Joe Johnson (plantar fasciitis) is not listed on the Nets injury report.

Johnson played 41 minutes on Thursday, so his plantar fasciitis can't be that bad if he's already off of the injury report following a heavy workload. This is good news for the Nets as the team looks to get back into the series after falling behind 2-1. Johnson confirmed that he feels better than expected after Thursday's Game 3.

Joe Johnson (foot) played 41 minutes against the Bulls on Thursday, scoring 15 points with three boards, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in a 79-77 loss.

He was a game-time decision with plantar fasciitis for tonight's game, but his 41 minutes were a team high. Johnson should be ready for Saturday's contest and there will likely be a slew of updates on him leading up to Game 4.

Joe Johnson (foot) is in uniform for Thursday's game and will start against the Bulls for Game 3.

It should be interesting to see how his foot holds up and he could be limited. Johnson did nothing at shootaround except "listen intensely," according to P.J. Carlesimo. If Joe is limited, C.J. Watson would pick up the slack.

Joe Johnson is still a game-time decision for Game 3 vs. Chicago due to plantar fasciitis, but it sounds like he'll try to play through the injury after reporting some improvement.

"I'm all right," he said. "[It's] a little sore, but it just kind of just is what it is at this point. I just have to fight through it. I'm a little sore, but I'll be able to give them what I got." Unless the issue flares up between shootaround and tipoff, which is entirely possible, it sounds like Johnson will at least give it a go and attempt to play.

Joe Johnson (plantar fasciitis in left foot) did not practice on Wednesday, and he is now considered a game-time decision for Thursday's critical Game 3 vs. Chicago.

Uh oh. Johnson had heel issues earlier in the season, and now he's dealing with the dreaded plantar fasciitis, which he called a "full blown" case. The Nets sorely need a healthy Johnson in the playoffs, but now it's possible he won't be able to play. If he is forced out, Keith Bogans would likely start in his place. It's worth noting Johnson said he'd attempt to play, but that's hardly set in stone.

Joe Johnson is expected to be in the lineup Wednesday night in the Nets' regular-season finale.

The Nets rested half of their roster in Monday's game but want to get their starters some limited run Wednesday in order to prep for the postseason. If you need to play Johnson, he'll be active, but it remains uncertain how big of a role he'll have.

Joe Johnson will not play on Monday, along with most of the Nets' starters.

MarShon Brooks should step up in his place tonight.

Joe Johnson (heel) could be rested in the Nets final two games.

Johnson said it was better for his health and his team if he got some time off, so we don't expect to see him for the final two games on Monday vs. Washington or Wednesday against Detroit. Expect MarShon Brooks to see heavy minutes before the postseason begins.
