Joe Johnson (rest) didn't practice on Saturday.
He's fine and just had the day off. Johnson slips in drafts and he should have no problem outperforming his ADP in the later rounds, especially with Paul Pierce in Washington. Oct 18 - 4:23 PM

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson plans to improve his rebounding this season, in addition to getting to the FT line more often.

Johnson will earn heavy playing time as a starter, whether at SG or SF, and he's coming off a nice 2013-14 during which he returned mid-round value on a cumulative basis. Owners in need of a SG who can score and make 3-pointer should keep the Nets' veteran in mind on draft day.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson, speaking during media day, said that while Jason Kidd was their coach the team didn't practice much.

During Johnson's three-years with the Nets, he has had a new head coach each season, and said that the process of bringing in a new head coach is "like starting from Ground Zero." Lionel Hollins bring a much different demeanor than Kidd; he loves to have team practices, and he is a tough-minded, no-nonsense coach. The Nets lost more than they gained this offseason in terms of acquiring talent, and Joe may have to step into a bit of an increased role with Brooklyn, making him an interesting mid-round selection come draft day.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson said he did a lot of yoga this summer.

If he has a sub-par season, we'll all know why. Kidding aside, Johnson is likely going to see his usage rate rise this season due to the Nets swinging and missing in free agency, so he could be a sneaky pick in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson scored 34 points in a season-ending loss to the Heat on Wednesday on 15-of-23 shooting, adding seven boards, three assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 42 minutes.

He was on fire after the break, making 9-of-10 from the field to start the half. Johnson wasn't taking easy shots or anything and the shots were just dropping for him. However, he did turn the ball over on the last possession of the game as he was stripped near the free throw line. Johnson turned in a terrific postseason, entering tonight scoring 20.0 points per game on 51.6 percent from the field. He'll likely be looking at a similar role with the Nets in his third year in Brooklyn for the 2014-15 season.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson's left hand injury from Game 4 doesn't appear to be affecting him leading up to Game 5 on Wednesday.

There was never really a doubt for Johnson's status and he should see his normal load in the starting lineup. He was the hero in the Nets' only win in this series and he'll need to step it up tonight.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson was unhappy with what he perceived to be a flop by LeBron James during Monday's Game 4 loss to the Heat.

Johnson drove towards the basket with the Nets down three at the end of the game and was upset with the no-call on what he thought was James' sixth personal foul. "I wasn’t necessarily trying to draw the foul on him but I thought he was aggressive," Johnson said after the game. "So I was just trying to use his aggressiveness against him. He flopped that last one." Regardless of what Johnson thinks, he didn't get the call and he and his Nets teammates have their backs against the wall as they Heat to Miami for a must-win Game 5 on Wednesday night.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson hit 7-of-10 shots and five 3-pointers for 19 points, three rebounds and six assists to lead the Nets over the Heat in Saturday's Game 3 104-90 win.

The series is now 2-1 in favor the Heat, and we're surprised JJ didn't get more shots up, given how hot he was tonight. Shaun Livingston added 12 points, four rebounds, five assists, a steal and a 3-pointer, and Kevin Garnett finally showed signs of life with 10 points and seven rebounds on 5-of-6 shooting in 23 minutes. Game 4 is Monday in Brooklyn.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson scored 26 points on 11-of-25 shooting with four rebounds and four assists in Sunday's tough 104-103 win over the Raptors in Game 7 to advance to the next round of the playoffs, where the Nets will face the Heat in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Johnson scored 13 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter, while Paul Pierce blocked a shot by Kyle Lowry at the buzzer to save the game for the Nets. Nineteen rookie-year NBA coaches have coached a Game 7 on the road in the NBA playoffs, but Jason Kidd was the first one to get a win when the Nets pulled it off today at Toronto. The Nets were 4-0 vs. the Heat in the regular season this year, but we're guessing you can throw those numbers out the window. Game 1 is at Miami on Tuesday night.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson had 30 points, five rebounds, three assists, a steal, a block and three 3-pointers on 13-of-23 shooting in Wednesday's Game-5 loss to the Raptors.

Johnson had 18 points in the fourth quarter as the Nets went on a 32-10 run to actually tie the game late. He made the All-Star team after a shaky first half of the season, but really turned it on down the stretch to become the Nets' most reliable player.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson was held to seven points on 2-of-7 shooting on Sunday, as the Raptors relied on a steady stream off double-teams to limit his opportunities.

The Nets' backcourt struggled in a big way tonight, as Johnson, Deron Williams and Shaun Livingston combined for 26 points on 9-of-26 shooting (34.6 percent). Johnson's ability to exploit DeMar DeRozan's defense had been a key for Brooklyn through three games and they'll have to make some adjustments in Toronto on Wednesday.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson scored a team-high 29 points vs. the Raptors during Game 3's 102-98 win over the Raptors to go with two assists and three 3-pointers.

He was very efficient with a shooting line of 11-of-17 from the field and 4-of-4 from the line. Johnson uncharacteristically had six shots in the paint tonight, which is well above his season average of 2.5 per game during the regular season. He's shot a sterling 60.7 percent from the field in this series and will look to carry the momentum into Game 4 on Sunday with the Nets up 2-1.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson led the Nets with 18 points, three rebounds, two assists and a 3-pointer in Tuesday's 100-95 Game 2 loss to the Raptors.

The series is tied 1-1 and the Nets saw double-digit scoring four starters, as well as Mirza Teletovic off the bench. Paul Pierce was 2-of-11 for seven points, but had a full stat line, Kevin Garnett scored 13 in 19 minutes, Deron Williams added 15 points and five assists on 4-of-14 shooting, Shaun Livingston added 12 points and five assists, and Teletovic hit three 3-pointers and scored 14 points. The series heads to Brooklyn for Game 3 & 4, where the Raptors will need to win one to regain homecourt advantage.
Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson and Deron Williams each scored 24 points in Saturday's road win vs. the Raptors, with Johnson connecting on 8-of-13 FGs and 8-of-8 FTs.

D-Will carried the Nets in the first half and they wisely fed Johnson while he was hot in the third quarter, but it was their locked-in team defense that earned them a tough victory. They'll try to take a stranglehold on the series with another win in Toronto on Tuesday before heading to Brooklyn for Games 3 and 4.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson's sore calf will reportedly sideline him on Wednesday.

He played through the injury in Tuesday's loss and it doesn't sound very serious, but the Nets will err on the side of caution with the playoffs right around the corner. It sounds as though the Nets will have Alan Anderson (abdomen) back in action to fill the gaps at SG, along with Marcus Thornton and Marquis Teague.
