Joe Johnson scored 12 points with two assists, a rebound and a blocked shot in 22 minutes off the bench in Saturday's win against the Thunder.
The 16-year veteran continues to be a valuable contributor in SLC, especially at the defensive end. While head coach Quin Snyder said earlier in the month that Johnson could be the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year this season, temper expectations. At 36 years old he remains useful only in deeper fantasy leagues despite Snyder's good words. Oct 22 - 12:21 AM

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Coach Quin Snyder said Joe Johnson could be the Sixth Man of the Year this season.

Hey, you could win the lottery this year, too. Kidding aside, we know Snyder loves Johnson for how he can guard so many positions while producing any kind of offense the coach desires. Encouraging quote aside, Johnson is really only worth a look in deeper leagues.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson moved to the bench on Saturday, making 3-of-12 from the field for seven points with six rebounds and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes.

He still saw plenty of minutes and surprisingly missed a lot of open looks. The Jazz also did trot out a no-PG lineup with Joe in there, so maybe they look at that more in Game 4 if George Hill (toe) is out again.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson scored eight points with three rebounds and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes against the Warriors on Thursday.

He did have a minor left pinky sprain in the first half, but he started the third quarter. The Warriors have been able to lock down Johnson with just 9.5 points per game in the two games, which is a small surprise after he scored 15.7 points per game against the Clippers in the last round. We'll see if his finger sprain affected his playing time and shooting.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson moved into the starting lineup for Game 1 vs. the Warriors on Tuesday, scoring 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting.

The experiment didn't work out, as Johnson was a -15 in just 22 minutes. He grabbed five rebounds with two assists and three triples, but the Jazz are going to need the Joe Johnson from Round 1 to show up for them to make this a competitive series -- he averaged 15.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 triples against the Clippers in the previous round. Expect more from him in Game 2 on Thursday.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson will start in Game 1 vs. the Warriors on Tuesday.

The move will send Boris Diaw to the bench and means Johnson will likely match up with Draymond Green. Johnson was a huge X-factor for the Jazz in Round 1, averaging 15.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 triples. He should be relevant in fantasy leagues the rest of the way.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson scored nine points with three rebounds, three assists and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes against the Clippers on Friday.

He had a chance to tie it on the Jazz's last possession, but DeAndre Jordan contested Johnson's three very well. The Clippers trapped Iso Joe about as much as they possibly could in the fourth quarter, so he was clearly in their game plan defensively. Coach Doc Rivers also called Joe "scary" after the game and he also mentioned how the Clippers had great ball pressure today. Johnson will get heavy run in Game 7 again.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson hit 6-of-14 shots and two 3-pointers off the bench for 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists and a steal in Tuesday's Game 5 96-92 win over the Clippers.

Johnson has been great in this series and is one of a handful of older NBA stars to come through in the playoffs, when their regular season wasn't all that special. Johnson scored 28 in Game 4 on Sunday and has been a double-digit scorer the entire series. He's tough to rely on when Gordon Hayward is healthy, but both Johnson and Rodney Hood (16 points, 4 3-pointers) came through off the bench tonight. They'll both need to do it again on Friday if the Jazz are going to close out the Clippers and avoid a Game 7 in L.A.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson was incredible in 35 minutes on Sunday, making 12-of-17 shots to score 28 points with two 3-pointers, five rebounds, five assists and one steal during a series-tying victory vs. the Clippers.

The veteran scored 12 straight points to erase a late deficit and his contributions were the difference in the game, especially with Gordon Hayward ruled out early due to food poisoning. Johnson continues to have an amazing postseason, averaging 19.3 points and 1.5 threes through four games, including his memorable buzzer-beater in Game 1. Johnson's performance tonight was his most impressive yet, and Utah's decision to add him on a two-year, $22 million contract looks better than ever.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson hit a four-foot floater at the buzzer to earn a 97-95 Game 1 win over the Clippers on Saturday, finishing with 21 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals, one block and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes.

What a win for the Jazz. Rudy Gobert (knee) went down on the very first play of the game, so Johnson had to defend Blake Griffin throughout this game. Plus, Gobert has been a positive offensive presence with his growth as a roll man, so it was Johnson to the rescue on the offensive side for the team's highest scoring output. This was Johnson's eighth buzzer-beating game-winner in the regular season or playoffs over the last 10 seasons, which is the most in the NBA over that span. The seven-time All-Star is 35 years, but Playoff Joe Johnson knows no age limitation.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson ended up with 19 points, five assists, five rebounds and a steal over 28 minutes in Monday's 105-99 win at Golden State.

Johnson has pieced together a season-high streak of five games with double-digit point totals. He is averaging 14.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in five outings in the month of April. The veteran has had erratic contributions for most of the regular season, but he is proving his worth down the stretch and could be a nice DFS sleeper in the postseason.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson scored 22 points with three rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and four 3-pointers in 33 minutes against the Wolves on Friday.

Playoff Joe Johnson is a good Joe Johnson. The Jazz having another offensive weapon on their bench should go a long way. DFS players are probably going to catch some good Joe games in the postseason.
Apr 8 - 12:34 AM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson racked up 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds, six assists and two triples in 31 minutes vs. the Pelicans on Monday.

Gordon Hayward (quad) sat this one out, so there's not much to see here. Unless Hayward misses more time, Johnson is just a low-end option in deeper leagues. Joe Ingles, who scored 19 points with five triples, is the better add if Hayward sits on Wednesday.

Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson scored 14 points with three rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers in 26 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday.

He was really the only guy to step up on the perimeter for the Jazz. Johnson has been fairly inconsistent lately and this was his first game above 42 percent from the field since Mar. 13. He will likely be coming off the bench against the Pelicans on Tuesday.
Mar 25 - 6:12 PM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Jazz

Joe Johnson shifted to the bench on Wednesday, where he chipped in 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting with one 3-pointer, four rebounds, two assists and one block.

Derrick Favors (bone bruise) is out indefinitely and the Jazz had been playing well with Johnson in his spot, but they opted to play the matchups with Boris Diaw starting tonight. Johnson logged 23 minutes on Wednesday and should hover in the mid-20s whether he's starting or coming off the bench.
