Zach Randolph hit four 3-pointers in 17 minutes off the bench on Tuesday vs. Philly, finishing with 17 points, eight rebounds, one assist and one steal.
The preseason is so much fun. Randolph will come off the bench this season and may see some minutes as the backup five because the Grizzlies will want to utilize Chandler Parsons (knee) at power forward. His minutes are going in the wrong direction in his age-35 season and he's more of a deep-league target this time around. Surprisingly, JaMychal Green could have more fantasy value this season if he keeps his starting job. Oct 11 - 11:02 PM

Zach Randolph said he's ready to embrace his new role with the Grizzlies second unit.

A day after it was announced he would come off the bench, Randolph expressed his desire to do what's best for the team. "I feel like I can be a starter, of course, and carry a team like I did last year," Randolph said. "But I'm being positive and staying ready. If Coach wants me to play 10 minutes, I'll come in and play the hardest 10 minutes." Randolph will see his minutes take a bit of a hit in his new time and isn't worth more than a late-round flier in standard fantasy leagues.
Oct 6 - 9:48 AM

Zach Randolph will be coming off the bench this season.

Coach David Fizdale really wants to push the pace, so they'll have Z-Bo anchor the second unit with more minutes at the five. Randolph saw his minutes dip to 29.6 per game last year, and now this move to the bench should get him to the 24-27 range. He's only a late-round flier in standard leagues.
Oct 5 - 2:38 PM

Zach Randolph scored 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting with seven rebounds in 22 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Spurs.

The Grizzlies were eliminated from the postseason with the loss and Z-Bo will finally have some time to rest up his troublesome knee. He's under contract with the Grizzlies through the 2016-17 season, but he won't be a popular target in fantasy drafts after finishing the 2015-16 regular season with averages of 15.2 points, 7.8 boards, 2.1 assists and 0.6 steals, failing to crack the top 100 in standard leagues for per-game value.
Apr 24 - 4:17 PM

Zach Randolph scored 20 points with 11 rebounds, one assist and three turnovers in 39 minutes during a 96-87 loss to the Spurs on Friday.

Hey, the Grizzlies actually cleared the 80-point barrier in this game. Randolph was just 9-of-21 from the field, so it's not like he was efficient for his 20-point game. He is likely going to start at center and coach Dave Joerger does like to get Z-Bo the ball in the post.
Apr 23 - 12:10 AM

Zach Randolph double-doubled in Tuesday's 94-68 loss to the Spurs on Tuesday, scoring 11 points with 12 rebounds.

Z-Bo finished just 5-of-17 from the field, but added three assists and one steal in a game-high 30 minutes. The Grizzlies have lost the first two games of the series, but they will try to defy the odds and get a win as the series shifts to Memphis for Game 3 on Friday and Game 4 on Sunday. Avoiding a sweep would be a success for Memphis considering how many injuries they've been dealing with.
Apr 20 - 12:25 AM

Zach Randolph had a rough night vs. the Spurs on Sunday, making 3-of-13 field goals to finish with six points, five rebounds, three assists and three turnovers in 28 minutes.

The Grizzlies' offense was stuck in mud vs. the league's best defense, and scoring will be a major obstacle to their upset bid in the first round. The Spurs were able to focus on Z-Bo with so few offensive weapons available for Memphis, and Randolph's inability to get to the free throw line didn't help matters -- he's attempted just four freebies in his past five games.
Apr 17 - 10:36 PM

Zach Randolph scored 24 points during a 125-104 loss to the Warriors on Wednesday, adding six rebounds, four assists, two steals and four turnovers in 26 minutes.

The Grizzlies' offense wasn't the problem and Z-Bo was active in the low post. Randolph and the Grizzlies will get a terrible matchup for their offense with a series against the Spurs and their No. 1 defensive rating this season. Randolph scored just nine points in his only game against them this year.
Apr 14 - 1:23 AM

Jordan Farmar, Vince Carter, Matt Barnes, Zach Randolph and Chris Andersen will start against the Warriors on Wednesday.

The Grizzlies are going to try and stop No. 73. This game could get ugly with the Grizzlies losing by 50 the last time they were in Oracle Arena.
Apr 13 - 10:03 PM

Zach Randolph scored 14 points in Tuesday's 110-84 loss to the Clippers, adding four boards, two assists and one steal.

Z-Bo only had to play 25 minutes in the blowout loss, so it will be interesting to see if he plays on Wednesday vs. the Warriors in the regular season finale. JaMychal Green scored eight points with 10 rebounds, two assists and one block on Tuesday and will benefit the most if Z-Bo gets a night off.
Apr 13 - 1:07 AM

David Joerger said that he's not planning on resting any of his guys for the Grizzlies' final two games of the regular season.

Memphis is trying to win their final two games of the year in hopes of securing the No. 5 seed out West, and while Tony Allen (hamstring) could sit out on Tuesday, no one on the roster that is healthy will be withheld from Tuesday or Wednesday's game. In other words, feel free to put Zach Randolph on your active roster for tonight's matchup with the Clippers.
Apr 12 - 2:59 PM

Zach Randolph made 6-of-19 from the field for 12 points with seven rebounds and one block in 27 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.

He's getting a ton of shots with 20 in his last game. The Grizzlies only have a slim chance for the No. 5 seed now, so expect Randolph to rest in one of the two final games. Expect to see more JaMychal Green in the last two.
Apr 9 - 11:08 PM

Zach Randolph could not get his shot to drop during Friday's 103-93 loss to the Mavs, going 6-of-20 from the field on his way to 13 points, six boards, two assists, and three turnovers in 32 minutes.

The shooting has been an issue for Randolph lately, as he's connected on just 40.2 percent of his attempts over the past five to go with averages of 19.4 points, 6.6 boards, 3.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.2 turnovers per contest, which has only been good enough for late-round value in standard leagues. He still should be owned just about everywhere, but the lack of spacing and heavy workload appears to be affecting Z-Bo's efficiency.
Apr 9 - 12:55 AM

The Grizzlies snapped a six-game losing streak on Tuesday, propelled by Zach Randolph's 27 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two turnovers in 35 minutes.

Z-Bo shot 33.3 percent over his previous two games, but he was efficient tonight with 10-of-19 FGs and 7-of-8 FTs. It was even more impressive against a Bulls' defense that's been surprisingly stingy vs. opposing PFs lately -- in their past five games PFs have averaged just 16.2 points per game (second-lowest in the league) on 37.5 percent shooting (lowest in the league). He's poised for another big performance in a crucial matchup vs. Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs on Friday.
Apr 5 - 10:56 PM

The Grizzlies' losing streak extended to six games on Sunday, despite Zach Randolph's 15 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

Z-Bo continues to be very involved offensively but his shots weren't falling tonight, as he went 5-of-15 from the field and 4-of-6 at the line in the disappointing road loss. Memphis is backing into the playoffs and could very well lose the No. 5 seed to the Blazers, but their battle for positioning should ensure that Z-Bo doesn't get any precautionary rest down the stretch.
