Zach Randolph played 17 minutes against the Blazers on Thursday, making 2-of-10 from the field for seven points with nine rebounds, two assists and one turnover.
He had four fouls in his playing time and also made just 3-of-6 from the line. Randolph did get some minutes next to Marc Gasol, which should help his floor most nights. He should have some low-end value in the second unit. Dec 8 - 11:52 PM

Date:

Zach Randolph dedicated Tuesday's 12-point, 14-board double-double to his recently deceased mother.

"My mom was great, man. My mom was all I had, all we had," said Randolph during his postgame interview on Tuesday. "This is what I did it for. She was the rock of this family. It's just tough, but I'm going to continue to go hard for her and leave it all out there and do it for her" Randolph returned from a seven-game absence on Tuesday night, and he'll likely be operating with a heavier usage rate over the coming weeks sans Mike Conley (back) and Chandler Parsons (knee). He doesn't have the highest upside, but he's worth a standard league spot due to his current situation.

Dec 7 - 1:18 PM

Zach Randolph returned from a seven-game absence on Tuesday vs. the 76ers, scoring 12 points with 14 rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes.

He was away from the team following the loss of his mother, so it was great to see him back out there. "It’s important to get back to working," Randolph said. "This is what my mother would want me to do. Don’t sit around and be sad. Go back to work. So I’m doing it for her. My mom was my father, too." Welcome back, Z-Bo. He's worth a look If you need points and rebounds, but his upside in standard leagues is low.
Dec 6 - 11:24 PM

Zach Randolph (personal) will return to action for Tuesday's game against the 76ers, as expected.

Randolph will be returning from a seven-game absence, and the Grizzlies sure could use him with Vince Carter (hip), Chandler Parsons (knee), James Ennis (calf), Mike Conley (back) and Brandan Wright (ankle) all set to spend Tuesday night on the sidelines. Randolph should be heavily involved in Memphis' offense with all those guys out, although he could also be dealing with a minutes limit after a lengthy absence, so he's a risky DFS target. JaMychal Green could lose some minutes with Z-Bo back.
Dec 6 - 3:56 PM

Zach Randolph (personal) is expected to play on Tuesday night vs. the Sixers.

Z-Bo has missed the Grizzlies previous seven games, after the passing of his mother on Thanksgiving. JaMychal Green has been playing well recently, averaging 10.4 points and 8.3 rebounds over 33.1 minutes in the seven games Randolph missed. Z-Bo's return will likely eat into Green's playing time a bit. Green averaged 28.6 minutes over Memphis' first 15 games this season.
Dec 6 - 11:06 AM

Zach Randolph (personal) has been ruled out for Monday's game vs. the Pelicans.

This will be his seventh game in a row away from the team as he's still on bereavement leave for the loss of his mother. JaMychal Green is a lock to play over 30 minutes Monday, while Jarell Martin will remain in the rotation until Z-Bo returns. Green is coming off a 16-point, 13-rebound performance against the Lakers with three blocks.
Dec 5 - 9:18 AM

Zach Randolph (personal) will not play against the Lakers on Saturday.

He is still on bereavement leave for the loss of his mother. With Z-Bo out, Jarell Martin has seen the biggest bump in minutes while Deyonta Davis has received a chance to play. Martin gets a good matchup and could be a sneaky steam or DFS punt play. Randolph isn't worth stashing in most cases.
Dec 2 - 3:10 PM

Zach Randolph (personal) will not play against the Magic on Thursday.

He'll miss his fifth game because he’s on bereavement leave following the death of his mom. With Randolph out, Jarell Martin has played well off the bench, Deyonta Davis has been in the rotation and JaMychal Green has really improved for his patient owners in standard leagues. With the Grizzlies on a back-to-back and Marc Gasol playing 35 minutes on Wednesday, those three aforementioned bigs could get a nice amount of playing time.
Dec 1 - 2:22 PM

Zach Randolph (personal) is doubtful for Thursday's game against the Magic.

Randolph looks likely to miss his fifth game following the death of his mother. We'll keep an eye on his official status closer to game time, but it looks like JaMychal Green, Jarell Martin, and Deyonta Davis will all see a few extra minutes against the Magic.

Dec 1 - 11:56 AM

Zach Randolph (personal) wil not play against the Raptors on Wednesday.

This will be his fourth game out of the lineup. Coach David Fizdale referred to his team as the "Nasty Nine" for tonight. They may also limit Marc Gasol's minutes in the back-to-back set. There should be some minutes available for Jarell Martin and Deyonta Davis tonight.
Nov 30 - 6:15 PM

Zach Randolph (personal) will not play on Monday vs. the Hornets.

This will be his third game in a row away from the team because his mother passed away on Thanksgiving. We wish Z-Bo all the best. JaMychal Green has been stepping up for the Grizzlies and is basically a lock to flirt with 30+ minutes Monday. Green should be owned in standard leagues.
Nov 28 - 12:51 PM

Zach Randolph (personal) is listed as out for Saturday's game vs. Miami.

Randolph's mother passed away on Thanksgiving. Randolph is averaging 14.2 points and a team-leading 7.9 rebounds per game this season. Stater JaMychal Green played slightly more (32 minutes) than usual on Friday night and will likely see 30-plus minutes again on Saturday. Green is averaging 13.8 points and 8.3 rebounds over the Grizzlies last four games.
Nov 26 - 2:03 PM

Zach Randolph (personal) will not play Friday vs. Miami.

Terribly sad news out of Memphis, as Z-Bo's mother passed away. "We've got to take care of our brother. Losing his mother on Thanksgiving was devastating," said coach David Fizdale. Memphis will also be without Chandler Parsons and James Ennis on Friday. Randolph is averaging 22.3 minutes off the bench for the Grizz this season. JaMychal Green, Tony Allen and Vince Carter could all see an increase in minutes this season.
Nov 25 - 12:38 PM

Zach Randolph hit 7-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer for 18 points and seven rebounds in Saturday's win over Minnesota.

Z-Bo and starter JaMychal Green combined for 37 points and 15 rebounds on 13-of-20 shooting in the win, and are helping the Grizzlies play some stifling defense right now.
Nov 19 - 11:18 PM

Zach Randolph double-doubled off the bench on Monday vs. the Jazz with 18 points, 10 rebounds and two turnovers in 23 minutes.

This was such a Z-Bo line. He hit 7-of-13 from the field and all four free throws, but still hasn't recorded any blocks on the season and he's failed to record a steal in eight out of 10 games. He's played exactly 23 minutes in three straight, so he's just a low-end option in standard leagues for owners targeting points and rebounds.
