Zach Randolph scored 26 points with nine rebounds, four assists and one turnover in 40 minutes against the Blazers on Monday.
The Grizzlies might need to play Randolph big minutes on Wednesday. He's only put up 12th-round value in his last 10 with 29.2 minutes per game in that span, so he would likely climb into the top 100 for fantasy value while Marc Gasol (knee) is out. Feb 9 - 12:29 AM

Zach Randolph scored 20 points with 14 boards in 36 minutes vs. the Mavericks on Saturday.

He was a focal point of the Grizzlies' offense tonight and had a total of 21 shots, connecting on nine of them. Z-Bo also had two assists and one steal, but his production has been far from consistent lately. Even if you include this big line, Z-Bo is averaging just 14.0 points and 7.0 boards over his last five games, and he hasn't blocked a shot since Jan. 21. He's more of a late-round guy with the potential for an occasional outburst.
Feb 6 - 11:46 PM

Zach Randolph (toe) will play vs. the Kings on Saturday.

It's a new injury for Z-Bo, but it sounds very minor and his status was never in jeopardy. If you need points and boards, Z-Bo is still worth owning in standard leagues.
Jan 30 - 6:39 PM

Zach Randolph was very quiet on Thursday vs. the Bucks, scoring eight points on 3-of-8 shooting with three boards and one steal in 20 minutes.

The matchup didn't suit Randolph as the Bucks played a lot of small ball. Z-Bo did have 18 points with 13 boards on Monday vs. the Magic, but he is going to a frustrating player to own in standard leagues moving forward because he is basically just a two-category player (points and boards).
Jan 28 - 11:49 PM

Zach Randolph scored seven points with six rebounds and one assist against the Wolves on Saturday in 22 minutes.

There is no report of an injury and the Grizzlies were not on a back-to-back set here. Randolph isn't playing anywhere close to the center minutes he was playing a few weeks ago and it's cost him some minutes. In his last five, he's averaged 11.0 points, 5.8 boards, 1.0 assists and 0.2 blocks. He is what he is as a low-end guy and won't be very valuable at any point this year.
Jan 23 - 10:47 PM

Zach Randolph scored eight points with eight rebounds, one assist and two steals in 24 minutes against the Pelicans on Monday.

He gets a pass here because he had to deal with Anthony Davis at times. It snapped a seven-game streak of scoring double-digit points, but this was his second game without a turnover. Randolph's minutes have been up to 28.9 in his previous January games, averaging 16.5 points, 8.3 boards and 0.6 blocks on 49.5 percent from the field. He's put up seventh-round value this month, which is pretty close to his peak.
Jan 18 - 6:55 PM

Zach Randolph scored 13 points in the starting lineup against the Pistons on Thursday with three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 30 minutes.

He's starting to get some regular minutes and the Grizzlies may be abandoning their small-ball lineups a little more. In his last five, Randolph averaged 16.8 points, 7.4 boards, 1.2 assists, 1.0 blocks, 0.8 steals and 1.2 turnovers. He's been a mid-round guy in that span, so he's worth owning in standard leagues again.
Jan 14 - 11:21 PM

Zach Randolph will join Mario Chalmers, Tony Allen, Courtney Lee and Marc Gasol in the starting lineup against the Pistons.

Jeff Green will move to the bench after a terrible showing on Tuesday. Green was benched for the second half, so coach Dave Joerger will stick with Z-Bo again.
Jan 14 - 7:46 PM

Zach Randolph nearly double-doubled in Tuesday's loss to the Rockets, finishing with 10 points and nine boards in 33 minutes.

Z-Bo started the second half in place of Jeff Green, but it's pretty clear that the Grizzlies want to bring him off the bench moving forward because he didn't even start the game in place of the injured Matt Barnes (thumb) on Tuesday (Courtney Lee started). Z-Bo had a sub-par performance against the Rockets, but he did score 24 or more points in three of his previous four outings and is worth owning in standard leagues.
Jan 13 - 1:12 AM

Zach Randolph started the second half of Tuesday's game vs. the Rockets in place of Jeff Green.

The Grizzlies are playing without Matt Barnes (thumb), so Z-Bo probably should've started the game considering the Rockets start Clint Capela and Dwight Howard together. However, there are likely no long-term fantasy implications here, as coach Dave Joerger is just adjusting to the matchup.
Jan 12 - 9:29 PM

Zach Randolph carried the Grizzlies to an impressive comeback win on Sunday, scoring 25 points with one 3-pointer, 13 rebounds (eight offensive), two assists, one steal and two blocks.

Z-Bo made 8-of-17 FGs and 8-of-8 FTs in 38 minutes. He pummeled the Celtics' frontcourt all night but was particularly effective in the second half, when he joined the starting lineup in place of Jeff Green. He's been productive whether starting or coming off the bench, so 12-team owners can simply keep him active and see what happens on Tuesday.
Jan 10 - 9:31 PM

Zach Randolph powered the Grizzlies to a win over the Nuggets on Friday, scoring 24 points in 28 minutes off the bench to go with six boards, one assist and three blocks.

On the season, Randolph has a total of two blocks, so the three swats tonight was certainly a pleasant surprise for his owners. He looked unstoppable against a young Nuggets frontcourt tonight, but one game isn't likely going to change his reserve role (which he has been very accepting of). His upside is limited coming off the bench, but he's still worth owning as a low-end asset in standard leagues for his contributions to points (13.6) and rebounds (7.2).
Jan 9 - 1:20 AM

Zach Randolph scored 12 points on 13 shot attempts vs. the Thunder, while adding six rebounds, two steals and one turnover in 25 minutes.

Z-Bo blew up for 26 points and 18 rebounds in the Grizzlies' last game but he came back to Earth quickly tonight. This is closer to the production owners should expect while Randolph is coming off the bench, and coach Dave Joerger has given no indication that he's about to reverse course.
Jan 7 - 1:16 AM

Zach Randolph matched his season high with 26 points, 18 boards, three assists and one steal in 31 minutes in a win over the Blazers on Monday.

Wow. Z-Bo recently said that he has "accepted" his role off the bench, but starting forward Matt Barnes played just 26 minutes in this one. Marc Gasol and Mike Conley struggled Monday, so Randolph was their go-to guy on offense down the stretch. His upside isn't great because of a lack of defensive stats and we would like him much better if he was starting, but he's doing enough to warrant a spot on standard league rosters. Just don't expect many more performances like this one from the 34-year-old veteran.
Jan 5 - 1:02 AM

Zach Randolph said that he's "accepted my role" as a bench player.

"It took me a little while to adjust, but I'm doing what's best for the team," Randolph said. "I'm going to do the best I can for the guys. I'm going to play hard and bring energy no matter how many minutes I play. I've accepted my role." A true professional, Z-Bo won't let his role come before the team. "It's not about you. If you feel a certain way and want to do something negative then you're not professional," Randolph said. As for his fantasy value, Z-Bo is not even a must-own player in standard formats because of his playing time and lack of statistical versatility.
