Zach Randolph scored 17 points during a 122-107 loss to the Warriors on Friday, adding 13 rebounds, one assist and two turnovers in 25 minutes.
Z-Bo missed one game due to foot soreness and was right back to his normal playing time. The Grizzlies had their three-game winning streak snapped and had won six of their previous seven, but the Warriors will do that to teams. Randolph is only a low-end hold. Feb 11 - 12:09 AM

Date:

Zach Randolph (foot) is expected to play Friday night vs. the Warriors.

Randolph sat out Wednesday's game vs. the Suns. Z-Bo's return will eat into the minutes of JaMychal Green and Brandan Wright, who played a season-high 21 minutes on Wednesday.
Feb 10 - 1:24 PM

Zach Randolph (sore left foot) will not play against the Suns on Wednesday.

The Grizzlies are listing him with an injury and this isn't on a back-to-back set, so this isn't just a day off. For what it's worth, Randolph said he expects to play Friday vs. Golden State. Brandan Wright has played 17.0 minutes per game over his last two, so he figures to back up Marc Gasol in a revenge game. We should see more JaMychal Green, as well.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: With Randolph out, we should see JaMychal Green clear 30 minutes of court time with Marc Gasol also potentially taking on a slightly bigger role offensively. In the seven games that Randolph has missed this year, Green is averaging 33.1 MPG with averages of 10.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.0 combined blocks/steals, and he steps into one of the best match-ups on the board tonight. Fire him up confidently in GPPs.

Zach Randolph started in place of Marc Gasol (rest) on Saturday vs. the Wolves, but really struggled with nine points on 3-of-15 shooting.

He played 31 minutes and added 10 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal before fouling out of the game. Z-Bo really had a tough time scoring against Karl-Anthony Towns, but his owners should cut him some slack since he averaged 16.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in his previous 10 games. He gets a tough matchup with the Spurs on Monday, a team that is allowing the fourth fewest fantasy points to opposing power forwards.
Feb 4 - 11:42 PM

Mike Conley, Andrew Harrison, James Ennis, JaMychal Green and Zach Randolph will start against the Wolves on Saturday.

No surprises here for the Grizzlies with Marc Gasol, Chandler Parsons and Tony Allen resting. Randolph should be looking at minutes in the upper 20s with a nice usage in that time. Behind him, we should see a little bit of Deyonta Davis and perhaps Brandan Wright.
Feb 4 - 8:53 PM

Zach Randolph said the extra minutes he's been seeing lately are helping him get into a rhythm.

"I had to get my legs under me and get a feel," Randolph said. "Coach is playing me more minutes and longer stretches. I’m getting a chance to get my rhythm." Z-Bo scored a season-high 28 points in the win over the Jazz on Saturday, and he's averaging 27.9 minutes in January compared to 22.9 minutes in December. "He’s worked his way to that," coach David Fizdale said of Z-Bo's increased role. "I needed to get him on the court more, but it also came with his conditioning level going up." His upside isn't great because he doesn't rack up many defensive stats, but his fantasy arrow is pointing up right now.

Jan 29 - 9:51 AM

Zach Randolph scored a season-high 28 points in Saturday's win over the Jazz.

Rudy Gobert was matched up on Marc Gasol, so the Jazz didn't really have an answer for Z-Bo with Derrick Favors resting. Randolph shot 12-of-20 from the field and 4-of-4 from the line with nine boards, one assist and one steal in 34 minutes, and he is now tied with Jack Sikma (17,287) for 84th in NBA history for career points scored. He's mainly just a points and rebounds asset, but he's worth owning in all standard leagues.
Jan 29 - 12:54 AM

Zach Randolph started in place of JaMychal Green (sore knee) on Wednesday, posting 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting with eight boards, three assists and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes.

The severity of Green's injury is unclear, but it sounds like he's just day-to-day. Z-Bo has a huge 30.1 percent usage rate over the past month, as the leader of the second unit, but he's still just a late-round value due to low assists (1.9), steals (0.6) and blocks (0.2). He'll head back to the bench once Green is healthy.
Jan 26 - 12:10 AM

Zach Randolph will start against the Raptors on Wednesday.

JaMychal Green (knee) is not available for tonight, so the Grizzlies will use more of their two-center lineups with Z-Bo and Marc Gasol. The Grizzlies are really rested with no games since Saturday, so Randolph has an excellent chance at 30-plus minutes. He is worth owning as a low-end big man in standard leagues.
Jan 25 - 7:45 PM

Zach Randolph scored 20 points with 10 rebounds in Friday's win over the Kings.

Z-Bo finished 7-of-14 from the field with a pair of assists in 24 minutes. He also hit multiple 3-pointers (two) for the first time as a Grizzly which included a 35-foot buzzer-beating triple. Randolph was coming off a six-point dud vs. the Wizards, but he's still averaging 14.2 points, 11.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists over his last five. His upside is low due to the lack of defensive stats, but he's worth owning right now.
Jan 21 - 12:21 AM

Zach Randolph grabbed eight of his 16 rebounds on the offensive end vs. Chicago on Sunday, adding 15 points, two assists and one 3-pointer.

In the process, Randolph passed Chris Webber for 88th on the NBA's all-time scoring list -- after Sunday's game he has 17,188 points in his career. He was awful to start tonight's game, but the veteran's newfound bench role hasn't prevented him from posting mid-round value over the Grizzlies' past 15 games.
Jan 16 - 12:15 AM

Zach Randolph scored 16 points with 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one 3-pointer against the Rockets on Friday.

Even with the Grizzlies going big, they still kept the Rockets in check from deep in the second half. Randolph posted his ninth double-double on the season in this game and was especially important in the second half, scoring 14 points after the break. Randolph is starting to flirt with mid-round value lately, which probably means it's time to sell high.
Jan 14 - 1:36 AM

Zach Randolph scored 14 points with nine rebounds, one assist and four turnovers in 27 minutes against the Thunder on Wednesday.

With those Z-bounds, he moved ahead of A.C. Green for 44th on the all-time list for rebounds. Randolph has obviously lost a step and his screen game has fallen off lately. He's still worth a look in standard leagues, but his upside isn't the greatest.
Jan 11 - 11:14 PM

Zach Randolph posted 13 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, two blocks and one assist on Sunday, making 6-of-16 shots in 27 minutes vs. the Jazz.

This was Z-Bo's second straight double-double, marking the first time this season that he's gone on a dub-dub streak. His bench role hasn't prevented him from holding onto late round value, and it helps that he hasn't missed a game since Dec. 5.
Jan 8 - 11:08 PM

Zach Randolph went off for 27 points in Friday's 128-119 overtime win over the Warriors.

Incredibly, the Grizzlies outscored the Warriors 49-21 after the third quarter. They were down by as much as 24 points, so this was their third-largest come-from-behind win in franchise history. Randolph said after the game that he still feels like he's in his prime and it showed tonight, as he shot 12-of-17 from the field with 11 rebounds, six assists and one triple in 35 minutes. He may not post another line as good as this the rest of the season, so this doesn't move the needle much on his fantasy value.
