Zach Randolph officially signed a two-year contract extension with Memphis on Monday worth $20 million.
He also decided to opt in to his $16.5 million player option for the 2014-15 season, so he'll be with the Grizzlies for another three years. "Zach has become a cornerstone of our franchise, and his contributions have been immense not just on the court but in the Memphis community," said Grizzlies Interim General Manager Chris Wallace. "Through that process, he’s become one of the most popular Grizzlies in the history of the organization." Jul 7 - 7:03 PM

Zach Randolph has agreed to a two-year, $20 million extension with the Grizzlies.

He will also opt in to his $16.5 million player option for this year, which means he'll be with the Grizzlies for the next three seasons. While there was talk of a stalemate between Z-Bo and the Grizzlies, there was never really much of a doubt and it's nice to see a deal get done before free agency begins. He'll be his usual nightly double-double threat at the power forward spot, but doesn't do much for fantasy teams outside of that. We're not planning on targeting the 32-year-old forward in our upcoming draft guide.
Jun 27 - 12:06 PM

Zach Randolph's contract extension talks with the Grizzlies have stalled and he may opt to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Memphis is reportedly unwilling to give their 32-year-old forward more than a three-year deal, and Randolph seems ready to decline his $16.5 million player option to lock up a longer and more lucrative contract. Z-Bo has been clear about his desire to return with the Grizzlies, but this significant financial impasse may be enough to send him elsewhere for the 2014-15 season.

If Zach Randolph decides to opt out of his current contract, Memphis is hopeful they will be able to sign him to a long-term deal.

"It’s going forward," GM Chris Wallace said. "We’re very excited about what Zach’s done in the past and hope to have him here in the future. This has really been a terrific boon for both sides. He’s obviously meant a great deal to us on and off the court. And Memphis has worked for him. This has been, by far, the best stop for him since he’s been in the NBA. So we’re working towards that goal." Randolph has stated on multiple occasions that he hopes to retire wearing a Grizzlies uniform, so the feeling is mutual.

Despite the recent turmoil within the Grizzlies front office, Zach Randolph wishes to remain with the franchise.

Randolph has reportedly already begun preliminary discussions on a long-term extension, and he has expressed a strong desire to finish his career in Memphis. Randolph talked directly with Pera in the past week, and both him and his agent sensed a serious commitment from Pera to keep Randolph with the franchise with a new deal. Randolph has until June 30 to decide whether he will pick up his $16.5 million player option for the 2014-15 season.
May 26 - 4:28 PM

Zach Randolph said that he wants to retire with the Grizzlies, but he hasn't yet decided whether to pick up his $16.5 million option for the 2014-15 season.

Z-Bo could opt out to sign a longer-term deal in Memphis or elsewhere, but he sounds content with the Grizzlies and both Mike Conley and Marc Gasol are taking it for granted that he'll return. Although Randolph's season ended on a disastrous note with his suspension for Game 7 vs. the Thunder, he had another productive season with averages of 17.4 points and 10.1 rebounds in his 13th NBA season.
May 5 - 12:32 PM

Zach Randolph has been suspended one game by the NBA for punching Steven Adams in Game 6.

Wow. The incident came in the fourth quarter during the blowout and this is a huge blow to the Grizzlies for their Game 7 matchup in Oklahoma City on Saturday. Randolph has been fairly consistent in his six games this postseason, averaging 18.2 points, 8.7 boards, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks on 40.4 percent from the field. With Z-Bo out, the Grizzlies will likely go smaller with James Johnson likely to get some extra run off the bench while Mike Miller will have to come up big. Ed Davis will likely get the start. Additionally, Mike Conley (hamstring) not at 100 percent puts Memphis in a tough spot. The video of the punch is attached in the link below.

Zach Randolph scored 20 points with 10 boards during Game 5's 100-99 overtime win vs. the Thunder on Tuesday.

He played 42 minutes tonight and played well on offense while teammate Marc Gasol shot just 4-of-14 for 11 points. Both players did put up a double-double and they also kept the Thunder to just 32 points in the paint tonight. The Grizzlies will have a chance to close out this series at FedEx Forum on Thursday night.
Apr 30 - 12:39 AM

Zach Randolph had 21 points, 11 rebounds and a block in Saturday's Game 1 loss, but hit just 7-of-21 shots on the night.

Z-Bo is definitely a key to the beating the Thunder, but he'll have to play very well if the Grizzlies are going to get any wins against the Thunder. He was solid tonight, but wasn't enough.
Apr 20 - 12:34 AM

Zach Randolph scored 32 points on 15-of-25 shooting with nine rebounds and one steal in Monday's playoff-clinching win over the Suns.

Randolph forced the Grizzlies into the playoffs by both gritting and grinding in a back-and-forth thriller. Marc Gasol added 18 points with eight boards and three assists, and Mike Conley hit a huge three to finish with 14 points, three rebounds, seven assists, a steal and a three in the win. The Grizzlies now face the Mavs on Wednesday to decide which team gets the No. 7 seed.
Apr 15 - 1:27 AM

Zach Randolph was one of many Grizzlies to struggle vs. the Spurs, scoring eight points with six rebounds and four turnovers in just 24 minutes.

Marc Gasol was held to six points, six boards and five assists, and Grizzlies starters Tony Allen and Courtney Lee combined for eight points on 3-of-14 shooting. The loss dropped Memphis a half game behind the Suns in the race for the eighth seed.
Apr 6 - 9:41 PM

Zach Randolph made just 1-of-8 from the field against the Wolves on Wednesday for four points with five boards, three assists and one block in 27 minutes during a 102-88 loss.

It's just the third time he's had one or less field goals in a game this season and his four points were his second-lowest total in a game all season. Randolph was in a groove back in March and put up an 18-10 line on 51.3 percent from the field, so he'll bounce back on Friday vs. the Nuggets.
Apr 3 - 12:24 AM

Zach Randolph scored 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting with 11 rebounds, three assists and a steal in the Grizzlies' road win over the Nuggets on Monday.

Z-Bo has been a 20 and 10 guy for the last eight games and he has lifted his value into the middle rounds as a result. Marc Gasol hit just 6-of-19 shots for 13 points, eight boards and one block, and Mike Conley scored 19 points on 9-of-15 shooting with two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one three in the win.
Apr 1 - 2:16 AM

Zach Randolph scored 21 points vs. the Warriors on Friday with seven boards, three assists and one steal in 35 minutes.

The Grizzlies only hit two 3-pointers and their 52 points in the paint weren't enough to get past the Warriors. Randolph is playing solid ball over his last five, averaging 20.6 points, 10.2 boards and 2.6 steals on 53.0 percent from the field.
Mar 29 - 5:33 AM

Zach Randolph scored 25 points on 12-of-20 shooting with 14 rebounds and four assists in Friday's loss to the Heat.

Randolph did a number on the Heat's poor interior defense as he cruises into a top-100 season. Mike Conley scored 12 points on 4-of-12 shooting with four rebounds, six assists and three steals in the loss.
