Zach Randolph scored 17 points with seven rebounds in Saturday's win over the Spurs.
He snapped a streak of two straight games in single digits. Z-Bo finished 7-of-12 from the field in 26 minutes with two assists and a triple, but he's a low-end option next week with only three games on the schedule. If there's a player like Richaun Holmes or Ivica Zubac on your wire, it makes sense to move on from Z-Bo despite tonight's solid line. Mar 19 - 12:36 AM

Date:

Zach Randolph played just 18 minutes and had eight points and five rebounds in Thursday's win over the Hawks.

JaMychal Green got hot and had a big double-double and has played well in two of his last four games. Meanwhile, Z-Bo has scored nine or fewer points in three of his last four and both of his lines were forgettable when Green double-doubled over that stretch. Randolph is still averaging 11.4 points and 6.8 rebounds over his last five games, but if Green is going to finally start playing well again, Randolph's consistency is going to take a hit.
Mar 16 - 10:46 PM

Zach Randolph finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and an assist in 21 minutes off the bench in Monday's 113-93 win against the Bucks.

Randolph passed Jason Kidd for 79th on the league's all-time career points scored list, and it came in front of Kidd who was coaching the Bucks. Z-Bo continues to perform well for fantasy owners despite the fact he is coming off the bench.
Mar 13 - 11:08 PM

Zach Randolph had 18 points, 11 rebounds, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in 25 minutes of Thursday's 114-98 loss to the Clippers.

That was his 17th double-double off the bench this season, which leads the league for non-starters. And with Brandan Wright and JaMychal Green struggling badly these days, there should be a lot more where this came from going forward for Z-Bo.
Mar 9 - 11:00 PM

Zach Randolph scored 24 points with 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 29 minutes against the Mavs on Friday.

Z-Bo is actually cooking with 20-plus points for three in a row. He actually hasn't accomplished that feat in the same season since March 26-31, 2014, so the odds are against him to keep it going. Randolph also passed Earl Monroe for 80th on the all-time scoring list. He's still only been a very late-round guy in the last 10, so he's not the strongest asset.
Mar 4 - 12:51 AM

Zach Randolph scored 23 points with eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and one triple in 28 minutes vs. the Suns on Tuesday.

Z-Bo has a total of four dunks on the season and three of them have come against the Suns. He was coming off a 20-point effort on Sunday and continues to outplay starter JaMychal Green. His upside isn't the greatest because of his lack of defensive stats, but he's worth owning for his points and rebounds alone.
Mar 1 - 12:17 AM

Zach Randolph picked up 20 points, 11 rebounds and two assists across 26 minutes off the bench in Sunday's 105-98 win against the Nuggets.

It was Randolph's 15th double-double, all coming as a reserve. He leads the NBA in double-doubles off the bench this season. Despite a reserve role, Randolph has flourished. He is averaging 15.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game over his past three outings. While he is no longer a 20-point, 10-rebound guy every night, he is still very productive in a majority of fantasy formats.
Feb 26 - 7:48 PM

Zach Randolph scored 17 points during a 122-107 loss to the Warriors on Friday, adding 13 rebounds, one assist and two turnovers in 25 minutes.

Z-Bo missed one game due to foot soreness and was right back to his normal playing time. The Grizzlies had their three-game winning streak snapped and had won six of their previous seven, but the Warriors will do that to teams. Randolph is only a low-end hold.
Feb 11 - 12:09 AM

Zach Randolph (foot) is expected to play Friday night vs. the Warriors.

Randolph sat out Wednesday's game vs. the Suns. Z-Bo's return will eat into the minutes of JaMychal Green and Brandan Wright, who played a season-high 21 minutes on Wednesday.
Feb 10 - 1:24 PM

Zach Randolph (sore left foot) will not play against the Suns on Wednesday.

The Grizzlies are listing him with an injury and this isn't on a back-to-back set, so this isn't just a day off. For what it's worth, Randolph said he expects to play Friday vs. Golden State. Brandan Wright has played 17.0 minutes per game over his last two, so he figures to back up Marc Gasol in a revenge game. We should see more JaMychal Green, as well.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: With Randolph out, we should see JaMychal Green clear 30 minutes of court time with Marc Gasol also potentially taking on a slightly bigger role offensively. In the seven games that Randolph has missed this year, Green is averaging 33.1 MPG with averages of 10.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.0 combined blocks/steals, and he steps into one of the best match-ups on the board tonight. Fire him up confidently in GPPs.

Zach Randolph started in place of Marc Gasol (rest) on Saturday vs. the Wolves, but really struggled with nine points on 3-of-15 shooting.

He played 31 minutes and added 10 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal before fouling out of the game. Z-Bo really had a tough time scoring against Karl-Anthony Towns, but his owners should cut him some slack since he averaged 16.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in his previous 10 games. He gets a tough matchup with the Spurs on Monday, a team that is allowing the fourth fewest fantasy points to opposing power forwards.
Feb 4 - 11:42 PM

Mike Conley, Andrew Harrison, James Ennis, JaMychal Green and Zach Randolph will start against the Wolves on Saturday.

No surprises here for the Grizzlies with Marc Gasol, Chandler Parsons and Tony Allen resting. Randolph should be looking at minutes in the upper 20s with a nice usage in that time. Behind him, we should see a little bit of Deyonta Davis and perhaps Brandan Wright.
Feb 4 - 8:53 PM

Zach Randolph said the extra minutes he's been seeing lately are helping him get into a rhythm.

"I had to get my legs under me and get a feel," Randolph said. "Coach is playing me more minutes and longer stretches. I’m getting a chance to get my rhythm." Z-Bo scored a season-high 28 points in the win over the Jazz on Saturday, and he's averaging 27.9 minutes in January compared to 22.9 minutes in December. "He’s worked his way to that," coach David Fizdale said of Z-Bo's increased role. "I needed to get him on the court more, but it also came with his conditioning level going up." His upside isn't great because he doesn't rack up many defensive stats, but his fantasy arrow is pointing up right now.

Jan 29 - 9:51 AM

Zach Randolph scored a season-high 28 points in Saturday's win over the Jazz.

Rudy Gobert was matched up on Marc Gasol, so the Jazz didn't really have an answer for Z-Bo with Derrick Favors resting. Randolph shot 12-of-20 from the field and 4-of-4 from the line with nine boards, one assist and one steal in 34 minutes, and he is now tied with Jack Sikma (17,287) for 84th in NBA history for career points scored. He's mainly just a points and rebounds asset, but he's worth owning in all standard leagues.
Jan 29 - 12:54 AM

Zach Randolph started in place of JaMychal Green (sore knee) on Wednesday, posting 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting with eight boards, three assists and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes.

The severity of Green's injury is unclear, but it sounds like he's just day-to-day. Z-Bo has a huge 30.1 percent usage rate over the past month, as the leader of the second unit, but he's still just a late-round value due to low assists (1.9), steals (0.6) and blocks (0.2). He'll head back to the bench once Green is healthy.
