Zach Randolph (oral surgery) will play on Friday vs. the Mavericks.
He's also expected to start next to Willie Cauley-Stein which will push Skal Labissiere to the bench. Z-Bo will be a nice source of points and rebounds, but his upside is limited in his age-36 season. Labissiere will likely be the PF to own in Sacramento this season, especially later on. Date:

Zach Randolph (oral surgery) will likely start next to Willie Cauley-Stein against the Mavs on Friday.

That would move Skal Labissiere to the bench in this game. Presumably, WCS would have to guard Harrison Barnes while Z-Bo guards Dirk Nowitzki. Randolph is going to take some 3-pointers this season, but expect his minutes to trend down. Labissiere looks like the better property in fantasy.
Oct 20 - 4:22 PM

Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle) has been ruled out, but Zach Randolph (oral surgery) has been upgraded to probable for Friday's game vs. Dallas.

Z-Bo, who sat out the season opener on Wednesday, is expected to start alongside Willie Cauley-Stein on Friday. Skal Labissiere started in place of Randolph on Wednesday and tallied 12 points and 10 boards in 33 minutes. Skal will see less playing time with Z-Bo back in the mix. Kosta Koufos could also see his minutes reduced.
Oct 20 - 1:39 PM

Zach Randolph (oral surgery) is questionable against the Mavs on Friday.

It's anyone's guess if Randolph will be out there. If he isn't Skal Labisierre will look to build off his 12-point, 10-board opener. Z-Bo not playing also may have helped Willie Cauley-Stein post his 21-point, 10-board gem.
Oct 19 - 8:15 PM

Zach Randolph (oral surgery) will not play against the Rockets on Wednesday.

Coach Dave Joerger won't have his old Memphis big man shooting 3-pointers in this opener. With Randolph out, Willie Cauley-Stein could play slightly more while Skal Labissiere, Georgios Papagiannis and Kosta Koufos could step up.
Oct 18 - 5:55 PM

Zach Randolph (oral surgery) was not at shootaround on Wednesday and remains questionable to face the Rockets.

It's a home game for the Kings, so not being at shootaround isn't a huge deal. That said, we're probably not going to find out if he can play until late this evening for the 10:00 EDT start time. If he can't go, Skal Labissiere figures to benefit most while Willie Cauley-Stein could also be looking at additional playing time.
Oct 18 - 2:44 PM

Zach Randolph (oral surgery) is questionable to play on Wednesday vs. Houston.

The Kings don't have great depth at power forward, so if Z-Bo is unable to play we can expect to see a lot of second-year forward Skal Labissiere. Kosta Koufos could also slide over to the four which would open up more minutes for Willie Cauley-Stein. We should have another update after Wednesday's morning shootaround.
Oct 17 - 9:13 PM

Zach Randolph scored 14 points with four rebounds, one block and two 3-pointers in 23 minutes against the Clippers on Thursday.

He's actually played very well this month and perhaps coach Dave Joerger wants his old Memphis guy to help get his 2017-18 season off the ground. Randolph is taking a lot of 3-pointers with four tonight and six on Sunday, so that's an interesting wrinkle to watch. If you're totally out of upside sleepers in the later rounds, feel free to give the 36-year-old big man a look.
Oct 13 - 12:56 AM

Zach Randolph led the Kings on Sunday with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists, hitting 7-of-15 shots with a 2-of-6 mark from downtown.

Z-Bo played well and early indications are that he has a green-light to shoot 3-pointers, which would be an interesting twist -- in eight seasons with the Grizzlies, he never averaged more than 0.3 triples per game. He should have a solid role as a veteran mentor for the Kings' young big men, but at age 36 it's hard to like his season-long fantasy outlook.
Oct 8 - 11:54 PM

Zach Randolph said he's not expecting any discipline from the NBA regarding his arrest in August.

Z-Bo was formally charged with two misdemeanors for the Aug. 9 marijuana arrest, but it was eventually reduced to 150 hours of community service. Randolph should open the season as the starting PF in Sacramento and will have some low-end value in points and rebounds, but he will likely lose playing time later in the year to Skal Labissiere since the Kings won't be too competitive.
Sep 28 - 11:10 AM

Zach Randolph is no longer facing misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession, stemming from his arrest in August.

Randolph pleaded no contest to charges of resisting arrest, but he'll get off with 150 hours of community service and a promise to avoid associating with drug dealers. The plea deal addresses all criminal charges, but the NBA itself could still hand down a suspension.
Sep 13 - 8:17 PM

Zach Randolph has been formally charged with two misdemeanors for the Aug. 9 marijuana arrest in Los Angeles.

He was initially charged for felony possession with intent to sell, but prosecutors reduced the charges down to misdemeanor possession of more than one ounce of marijuana and misdemeanor resisting arrest. If convicted on both counts, Randolph faces up to one year in jail, but he may not go to jail because it's his first arrest.

According to Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Zach Randolph could be banned from the NBA like former teammate O.J. Mayo if convicted of a felony marijuana charge.

Z-Bo was arrested on Wednesday and charged with "intent to sell" marijuana in California. TMZ reported that Z-Bo was in possession of two pounds of marijuana, but his agent Raymond Brothers called those accusations "false and misleading." This isn't Z-Bo's first run-in with the law, as he had incidents back in 2010 and 2011 -- he wasn't charged for either. According to the league’s collective bargaining agreement, a player can be "dismissed and disqualified from the NBA if he is convicted of, or pleads guilty, no contest or nolo contendere to, a crime involving the felony distribution of marijuana."
Aug 13 - 10:21 AM

Zach Randolph’s agent and attorney Raymond Brothers said that the recent drug charges against Randolph are "false and misleading."

Z-Bo was arrested on Thursday and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell. TMZ is reporting that Randolph and his associates had two pounds of marijuana with them at the time of the arrest. Randolph would be facing a lengthy suspension if found guilty, but we'll have to wait until legal matters proceed before attempting to speculate on possible punishment from the NBA or the Kings.
Aug 11 - 9:22 AM

Zach Randolph was arrested on Wednesday for drug possession and intent to sell it according to TMZ.

Z-Bo was one of three people to be arrested and it sparked "a crazy disturbance" that forced the cops to call for backup. He was arrested for possession of marijuana, though the "intent to sell" part was due to the large amount of weed found. The bail for his release was set for $20,000. At the least, a suspension for Z-Bo should be on the horizon, but the Kings and NBA will likely make a statement once more is known.
