Zach Randolph grabbed eight of his 16 rebounds on the offensive end vs. Chicago on Sunday, adding 15 points, two assists and one 3-pointer.
In the process, Randolph passed Chris Webber for 88th on the NBA's all-time scoring list -- after Sunday's game he has 17,188 points in his career. He was awful to start tonight's game, but the veteran's newfound bench role hasn't prevented him from posting mid-round value over the Grizzlies' past 15 games. Jan 16 - 12:15 AM

Date:

Zach Randolph scored 16 points with 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one 3-pointer against the Rockets on Friday.

Even with the Grizzlies going big, they still kept the Rockets in check from deep in the second half. Randolph posted his ninth double-double on the season in this game and was especially important in the second half, scoring 14 points after the break. Randolph is starting to flirt with mid-round value lately, which probably means it's time to sell high.
Jan 14 - 1:36 AM

Zach Randolph scored 14 points with nine rebounds, one assist and four turnovers in 27 minutes against the Thunder on Wednesday.

With those Z-bounds, he moved ahead of A.C. Green for 44th on the all-time list for rebounds. Randolph has obviously lost a step and his screen game has fallen off lately. He's still worth a look in standard leagues, but his upside isn't the greatest.
Jan 11 - 11:14 PM

Zach Randolph posted 13 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, two blocks and one assist on Sunday, making 6-of-16 shots in 27 minutes vs. the Jazz.

This was Z-Bo's second straight double-double, marking the first time this season that he's gone on a dub-dub streak. His bench role hasn't prevented him from holding onto late round value, and it helps that he hasn't missed a game since Dec. 5.
Jan 8 - 11:08 PM

Zach Randolph went off for 27 points in Friday's 128-119 overtime win over the Warriors.

Incredibly, the Grizzlies outscored the Warriors 49-21 after the third quarter. They were down by as much as 24 points, so this was their third-largest come-from-behind win in franchise history. Randolph said after the game that he still feels like he's in his prime and it showed tonight, as he shot 12-of-17 from the field with 11 rebounds, six assists and one triple in 35 minutes. He may not post another line as good as this the rest of the season, so this doesn't move the needle much on his fantasy value.
Jan 7 - 1:50 AM

Zach Randolph scored 13 points with three rebounds and two turnovers in 19 minutes against the Clippers on Wednesday.

Surprisingly, the Grizzlies didn't really go with a lineup consisting of Z-Bo and Marc Gasol too often. A lot of that had to do with how poorly they defended in pick-and-roll sets, and also Z-Bo just was unaware of the shooters out there for most of his minutes on defense. Maybe he'll be better on Friday against the Warriors, but you just have to know coach Steve Kerr is licking his chops with running PNR at Z-Bo right now.
Jan 5 - 1:27 AM

Zach Randolph struggled on Tuesday, hitting just 3-of-12 shots for 11 points, nine rebounds, a steal and a 3-pointer in 28 minutes in a 116-102 loss to the Lakers.

Z-Bo should benefit greatly if JaMychal Green (face) is going to miss time with his injury. It sounds like the injury could be serious and if it is, Randolph is going to get a ton of minutes on Wednesday, and could move into the starting lineup. Jarrell Martin, who would also see some extra minutes in that scenario, played just five minutes on Tuesday, so Randolph looks like the way to go if you can grab him off your waiver wire. Just don't expect him to do a whole lot more than score and rebound.
Jan 4 - 1:17 AM

Zach Randolph scored 14 points with six rebounds, three assist and two turnovers in 24 minutes on Saturday.

He was busier in the second half with Marc Gasol (ankle) sitting out for most of that. Z-Bo also played a handful of minutes at the four, but he would be playing straight five if Gasol misses time. Still, he is only a borderline fantasy asset in standard leagues.

Zach Randolph scored 18 points in Tuesday's loss to Cleveland, adding five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 31 minutes.

The defensive stats came out of nowhere, as Z-Bo was averaging 0.4 steals and 0.1 blocks prior to Tuesday. He started in place of a resting Marc Gasol tonight, shooting 9-of-15 from the field with one turnover. Z-Bo will head back to the bench on Wednesday vs. Cleveland with Gasol back, so he's a low-end asset in standard leagues until further notice.

Zach Randolph will start vs. the Cavaliers on Tuesday in place of Marc Gasol (rest).

The Grizzlies offense will be hard-pressed to generate points without Gasol in the lineup tonight, and the team is likely to play through Z-Bo in the post. JaMychal Green, Jarell Martin and Deyonta Davis also stand to gain more minutes in Gasol's absence.

Zach Randolph played 17 minutes against the Blazers on Thursday, making 2-of-10 from the field for seven points with nine rebounds, two assists and one turnover.

He had four fouls in his playing time and also made just 3-of-6 from the line. Randolph did get some minutes next to Marc Gasol, which should help his floor most nights. He should have some low-end value in the second unit.
Thu, Dec 8, 2016 11:52:00 PM

Zach Randolph dedicated Tuesday's 12-point, 14-board double-double to his recently deceased mother.

"My mom was great, man. My mom was all I had, all we had," said Randolph during his postgame interview on Tuesday. "This is what I did it for. She was the rock of this family. It's just tough, but I'm going to continue to go hard for her and leave it all out there and do it for her" Randolph returned from a seven-game absence on Tuesday night, and he'll likely be operating with a heavier usage rate over the coming weeks sans Mike Conley (back) and Chandler Parsons (knee). He doesn't have the highest upside, but he's worth a standard league spot due to his current situation.

Zach Randolph returned from a seven-game absence on Tuesday vs. the 76ers, scoring 12 points with 14 rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes.

He was away from the team following the loss of his mother, so it was great to see him back out there. "It’s important to get back to working," Randolph said. "This is what my mother would want me to do. Don’t sit around and be sad. Go back to work. So I’m doing it for her. My mom was my father, too." Welcome back, Z-Bo. He's worth a look If you need points and rebounds, but his upside in standard leagues is low.
Tue, Dec 6, 2016 11:24:00 PM

Zach Randolph (personal) will return to action for Tuesday's game against the 76ers, as expected.

Randolph will be returning from a seven-game absence, and the Grizzlies sure could use him with Vince Carter (hip), Chandler Parsons (knee), James Ennis (calf), Mike Conley (back) and Brandan Wright (ankle) all set to spend Tuesday night on the sidelines. Randolph should be heavily involved in Memphis' offense with all those guys out, although he could also be dealing with a minutes limit after a lengthy absence, so he's a risky DFS target. JaMychal Green could lose some minutes with Z-Bo back.

Zach Randolph (personal) is expected to play on Tuesday night vs. the Sixers.

Z-Bo has missed the Grizzlies previous seven games, after the passing of his mother on Thanksgiving. JaMychal Green has been playing well recently, averaging 10.4 points and 8.3 rebounds over 33.1 minutes in the seven games Randolph missed. Z-Bo's return will likely eat into Green's playing time a bit. Green averaged 28.6 minutes over Memphis' first 15 games this season.
