Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Gerald Wallace (knee) is available to play Friday after having fluid drained from his right knee.
Wallace sat out Thursday's practice session, but Stevens said he would be available for Friday's game against the Timberwolves. The 32-year-old has only averaged 9.0 minutes over the Celtics' last three games, so he shouldn't be on any fantasy rosters outside of the very deepest of leagues. Dec 18 - 1:44 PM

Gerald Wallace played three minutes in his season debut on Monday.

He didn't take a shot or register any stat. Wallace won't be in the rotation most nights.
Nov 4 - 1:55 AM

Gerald Wallace (knee) did not practice on Thursday, but he's expected to play on Saturday.

Wallace took a "small injection" to his knee, but it's not clear which knee it is at this point. We're guessing it's the one he had surgically-repaired during the offseason considering he previously noted he was still having discomfort with it before the regular season began. He was a DNP-Coach's Decision in the Celtics big win on opening night and is an afterthought on Boston's roster.
Oct 30 - 3:15 PM

Gerald Wallace finally showed up on Wednesday, hitting 6-of-8 shots for 12 points, five assists and three steals in 23 minutes on Wednesday.

This was the first time he's topped three points in the preseason. The artist formerly known as Crash has been pretty rough to own over the last two seasons, and we see little reason to use a draft pick on him this year.
Oct 22 - 10:16 PM

Gerald Wallace is expecting to play less minutes this season and is willing to accept that role.

After Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said he's still trying to figure out what Wallace's role is, the 13-year veteran said he's willing to accept whatever role comes his way. "I’m here for supportive veteran leadership. Whatever the coach needs me to do," Wallace said. "We’ve already talked about it. I’m in a position where I’m comfortable with it." With Jeff Green, Evan Turner, and James Young crowding the Celtics' wing, Wallace likely won't see enough minutes to provide fantasy value in standard leagues this season.
Oct 21 - 9:11 AM

Gerald Wallace (knee) divulged that he still feels pain when trying to explode off his surgically repaired left knee, and admitted he's currently not capable of playing major minutes.

"I don’t feel myself at 100 percent," said Wallace. "I’m still battling, trying to get my knee back to where I want it to be. At this point I don’t feel like I can play 30 or 40 minutes right now, with my knee the way it is. I’m still a work in progress of getting myself back to 100 percent so I’m comfortable with it." It's been injury after injury with Wallace, and after averaging 5.1 points and 3.7 rebounds with the Celtics last season, he's just not worth drafting anymore in any format.
Oct 20 - 4:46 PM

Gerald Wallace (knee) returned to action during the NBA's first 44-minute game but went scoreless in five minutes.

The man they call Crash is finally getting over a bruised knee but he won't have a big enough role on this Celtics team to matter in almost any format. Ignore Wallace on draft day.
Oct 19 - 5:39 PM

Gerald Wallace (knee) will be available for Sunday's game vs. Brooklyn.

Wallace hasn't had a fantasy relevant season since 2012, and we're not expecting a sudden turnaround. He's extremely injury prone, and just isn't capable of putting up meaningful stat lines anymore. Feel free to ignore Wallace in all formats come draft day.
Oct 19 - 9:32 AM

Gerald Wallace (knee) is expected to be ready to suit up on Sunday against Brooklyn.

He is recovering from a bone bruise in his knee and looks like he is ready to join the fight for rotational minutes at SF and PF for the Celtics. He isn't going to have a large enough role to matter in most leagues so he is not worth drafting in almost any format.
Oct 18 - 4:32 PM

Gerald Wallace (knee) will miss the next two games due to a knee injury.

It's just a bone bruise and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong structurally. Wallace had knee surgery on his torn meniscus last season and he'll probably need some maintenance days throughout the year. He's not worth drafting in most fantasy leagues.
Oct 13 - 11:44 AM

Gerald Wallace (knee, ankle) played 20 minutes in Boston's preseason opener, scoring two points with two rebounds, two assists and one steal off the bench.

The veteran forward had two surgeries this offseason but he played with typical abandon in the Celtics' exhibition. "You’ve got to be who you are," said coach Brad Stevens. "That’s what [Wallace] does ... I think he’s going to be diving on balls at 55 in a rec league." Whether or not he stays healthy this year, the Celtics have too many options at SF and PF to consider Wallace in standard fantasy formats.
Oct 8 - 11:30 AM

Gerald Wallace (knee surgery) said he's happy in Boston and wants to stay there.

He is 32 and entering his 14th NBA season, so being on a team that has very little championship aspirations usually is not the preferred landing spot for someone like him. Wallace is getting over his knee surgery and has been limited in practice. He is only worth drafting in very deep leagues.
Oct 6 - 9:29 AM

Gerald Wallace (knee surgery) was a limited participant in Tuesday's practice.

The veteran forward had surgery back in March and he should be healthy for opening night, but his role is uncertain on the Celtics' busy roster. Brad Stevens said that Wallace might play some PF early in the season, but that's just one more reason to fear for his fragile health.
Sep 30 - 5:16 PM

Gerald Wallace (knee) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, according to head coach Brad Stevens.

While Stevens and team president Danny Ainge gave conflicting statements on whether Wallace has been at the team's facilities, it's clear that Wallace is at least in town. "I don't know completely on Gerald. I think he'll be ready to go by training camp, but I haven’t seen Gerald yet," Ainge said. Crash only averaged 5.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 steals in 58 games with the Celtics last season, so there isn't much fantasy value left in the 32-year-old's legs at this point.

Gerald Wallace (knee) underwent successful season-ending surgery on Tuesday.

We've still yet to see a report of an "unsuccessful" season-ending surgery, but it's good to hear that all went well with Crash's procedure. His minutes will most likely be gobbled up by Jerryd Bayless, Chris Johnson, and the potentially soon-to-return Avery Bradley.
