Gerald Wallace said he doesn't think he can mentally go out and play NBA basketball.
He said his body can still go out and play, but he's satisfied with his 14-year NBA career. Wallace had the nickname Crash for his wild style, but it caused him to miss a lot of games. Fantasy owners in 2009-10 might remember Wallace posting top-10 value that season thanks to how he's filled it up with defensive stats. Fri, Jul 29, 2016 07:34:00 PM

76ers waive F Gerald Wallace.

It's hardly a surprise as the team looks to get minutes to their young guys. Wallace will likely be picked up for the minimum, but he won't be in the rotation in just about any case.

Gerald Wallace was traded from Golden State to the 76ers on Friday.

The 76ers also pick up cash and draft considerations. Wallace could wind up getting playing time with the 76ers, but the 33-year-old forward is past his prime. Still, the 76ers have no depth and Wallace can fill a stat sheet, so he's on the radar for fantasy.

Gerald Wallace has been traded to the Warriors for David Lee.

While the Warriors could use the stretch provision on Wallace, it’s being reported that they plan on keeping him. Wallace will bring a veteran presence to the Dubs’ championship locker room, but he’ll have plenty of games where he doesn’t even leave the bench. The change of scenery for Wallace will not have an effect upon his non-existent fantasy value.

Gerald Wallace isn't sure whether he'll retire after his current contract expires after the 2015-16 season.

Wallace will earn a guaranteed $10.1 million in the final year of his contract. "This is my [14th] year," he said. "You kind of sit back and look at your career and all you've done and kind of just evaluate your past and try to set up for your future." The baller formerly known as Crash is no longer a fantasy asset no matter when he calls it a career.

Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Gerald Wallace (knee) is available to play Friday after having fluid drained from his right knee.

Wallace sat out Thursday's practice session, but Stevens said he would be available for Friday's game against the Timberwolves. The 32-year-old has only averaged 9.0 minutes over the Celtics' last three games, so he shouldn't be on any fantasy rosters outside of the very deepest of leagues.

Gerald Wallace played three minutes in his season debut on Monday.

He didn't take a shot or register any stat. Wallace won't be in the rotation most nights.

Gerald Wallace (knee) did not practice on Thursday, but he's expected to play on Saturday.

Wallace took a "small injection" to his knee, but it's not clear which knee it is at this point. We're guessing it's the one he had surgically-repaired during the offseason considering he previously noted he was still having discomfort with it before the regular season began. He was a DNP-Coach's Decision in the Celtics big win on opening night and is an afterthought on Boston's roster.

Gerald Wallace finally showed up on Wednesday, hitting 6-of-8 shots for 12 points, five assists and three steals in 23 minutes on Wednesday.

This was the first time he's topped three points in the preseason. The artist formerly known as Crash has been pretty rough to own over the last two seasons, and we see little reason to use a draft pick on him this year.

Gerald Wallace is expecting to play less minutes this season and is willing to accept that role.

After Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said he's still trying to figure out what Wallace's role is, the 13-year veteran said he's willing to accept whatever role comes his way. "I’m here for supportive veteran leadership. Whatever the coach needs me to do," Wallace said. "We’ve already talked about it. I’m in a position where I’m comfortable with it." With Jeff Green, Evan Turner, and James Young crowding the Celtics' wing, Wallace likely won't see enough minutes to provide fantasy value in standard leagues this season.

Gerald Wallace (knee) divulged that he still feels pain when trying to explode off his surgically repaired left knee, and admitted he's currently not capable of playing major minutes.

"I don’t feel myself at 100 percent," said Wallace. "I’m still battling, trying to get my knee back to where I want it to be. At this point I don’t feel like I can play 30 or 40 minutes right now, with my knee the way it is. I’m still a work in progress of getting myself back to 100 percent so I’m comfortable with it." It's been injury after injury with Wallace, and after averaging 5.1 points and 3.7 rebounds with the Celtics last season, he's just not worth drafting anymore in any format.

Gerald Wallace (knee) returned to action during the NBA's first 44-minute game but went scoreless in five minutes.

The man they call Crash is finally getting over a bruised knee but he won't have a big enough role on this Celtics team to matter in almost any format. Ignore Wallace on draft day.

Gerald Wallace (knee) will be available for Sunday's game vs. Brooklyn.

Wallace hasn't had a fantasy relevant season since 2012, and we're not expecting a sudden turnaround. He's extremely injury prone, and just isn't capable of putting up meaningful stat lines anymore. Feel free to ignore Wallace in all formats come draft day.
Sun, Oct 19, 2014 09:32:00 AM

Gerald Wallace (knee) is expected to be ready to suit up on Sunday against Brooklyn.

He is recovering from a bone bruise in his knee and looks like he is ready to join the fight for rotational minutes at SF and PF for the Celtics. He isn't going to have a large enough role to matter in most leagues so he is not worth drafting in almost any format.

Gerald Wallace (knee) will miss the next two games due to a knee injury.

It's just a bone bruise and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong structurally. Wallace had knee surgery on his torn meniscus last season and he'll probably need some maintenance days throughout the year. He's not worth drafting in most fantasy leagues.
