Maurice Evans is "on the verge" of signing with a team in Europe, according to Hoopsworld.
The 34-year-old veteran played in Greece and Italy from 2002-2004 and he's in talks with "several overseas teams." He has career averages of 6.7 points and 2.5 rebounds in 20 minutes per game, shooting 36.3 percent from downtown, but there aren't any NBA teams interested in signing him. The Bulls could pursue veteran free agent Maurice Evans, according to Hoopsworld's Alex Kennedy.

Kennedy cites previous interest in Evans and Richard Hamilton's foot injury as reasons the team could pursue the free agent, but it sounds more like speculation than anything else. Even if Evans does wind up in Chicago, he'll offer no fantasy value.

Mo Evans is unwilling to sign a non-guaranteed contract, instead holding out for a guaranteed deal.

"I did not entertain any non-guaranteed contracts," Evans said. "I believe there will be opportunities that will manifest after training camp." Evans averaged just 4.9 points on 40.2 percent shooting last season, although he did shoot 37.8 percent from behind the 3-point line.

Mo Evans is still hoping to sign with a team before training camp.

"Given that I'm a veteran, I know where my value lies," he said. Both Evans and Derek Fisher were names every basketball fan knew this time last season with the lockout, but neither veteran has been able to find work. The Wizards wanted to bring Evans back as a front-office executive, and although he is interested in that in the future, he wants to continue his playing career right now. "I expect myself to be with a team soon."

The Wizards hope to re-sign Mo Evans, Roger Mason or James Singleton.

The report states that bringing back the three veterans "remains high on the Wizards' priority list," but it's hard to envision a scenario where all three are back. Regardless, none of the three players listed would emerge with fantasy value so long as everyone remains healthy for the Wizards.

Unrestricted free agent Mo Evans is hoping to re-sign with the Wizards.

"If the opportunity is there to re-sign, I would definitely look to try to take advantage," he said. "I think the future is extremely bright." Should Evans return to the Wizards, look for him to play a similar role as he did last season. Evans was a veteran mentor to the younger guys and could be a good fit in that position. Along with assistant coach Sam Cassell, Evans and Roger Mason Jr. are set to coach the Wizards' summer league team.

Mo Evans scored a season-high 18 points in Thursday's blowout win over the Heat, hitting 7-of-13 shots (including two threes) with one steal in 23 minutes.

It's nice to see Evans stretch his legs out during the twilight of his career like this. Chances are, he won't be seeing many lines like this in his future. Morris Almond scored five points with five steals, Shelvin Mack scored six points with seven assists, James Singleton put up four points, eight boards, and three assists, and Nene added 15 points with seven boards, three assists, and two blocks to round out the bench effort.

Mo Evans started the second half for the Wizards (over Trevor Booker) and had 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting in 20 minutes.

Randy Wittman was mad at his starters and benched three of them to start the second half. Unless Evans starts doing this on a nightly basis, he belongs on waivers in your fantasy league.

Mo Evans played a season-high 15 minutes on Monday and could be in line for an increased role under Randy Wittman.

Evans had his knee drained as the season began, but he says he's been healthy "for a while now." Wittman used the term "stability" to describe what Evans brings to the youthful lineup, and the interim coach has already stated that he'll have no trouble yanking guys off the court who look like they're dogging it on the court.

Mo Evans called a players only meeting for the 0-6 Wizards on Thursday.

"The sense of entitlement that's here sometimes, I've never seen before," he said. John Wall said that his team was playing selfish on Thursday, and it's clear that there are some problems both on and off the court for Washington right now. We'll see if it has any impact in the next game on Friday against the Knicks.

Mo Evans (knee) was in uniform for the Wizards on Sunday but did not play.

Evans hasn't been practicing lately and isn't going to offer fantasy value even when he's in shape.

Mo Evans (knee) will receive an MRI on his surgically-repaired knee.

Evans has been unable to practice after his knee experienced pain and swelling. The veteran described the pain as what he felt prior to having surgery in 2010, and he's "fearful" the problem may have returned. It doesn't sound like he's close to returning.

Mo Evans had his knee drained on Monday.

Evans mysteriously didn't see the court on Monday and now we know why that was the case. He didn't practice Tuesday, and it doesn't sound like it should be a serious issue and Evans should be back on the court before long.

Free agent Mo Evans has agreed to re-sign with the Wizards for the veteran's minimum.

Once a high flyer, age and knee injuries have kept him planted on the bench the past few seasons. There will be no late-career revival here for Evans.

The Knicks will "zero in on" Maurice Evans after losing Shawne Williams to the Nets.

New York is offering the full $2.5 million exception for the veteran, who appears to be at the top of the list now that Jamal Crawford and Shawne Williams have been scratched from the list. If he does sign, Evans will get some solid burn considering how shallow the bench is for the Knicks.
