Drew Gooden (knee) is available to play for Friday's game against OKC.
That doesn't mean that he will play, and even if he does, he wouldn't offer enough statistics for use in any league. Leave him on the wire. Jan 2 - 6:48 PM

Drew Gooden (knee) did not practice on Thursday.

We'll consider Gooden questionable for Friday's game against OKC, but his status shouldn't matter to owners in any league. He's gone scoreless in his last four outings, which is about all you need to know regarding his non-existent value.
Jan 1 - 5:44 PM

Drew Gooden started in place of Nene (suspended) and hit 8-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer for 18 points, five rebounds and an assist on Wednesday.

Gooden was great and you should pat yourself on the back if you gave him a spot start tonight. Kevin Seraphin played well in the preseason, but did nothing in limited minutes. Nene will be back for the next one, so Gooden shouldn't be nearly this good next time out.

Drew Gooden will start in place of Nene (suspended) on Wednesday.

With both Nene and DeJuan Blair suspended for this one, and Kris Humphries (finger) a game-time decision, Gooden and Kevin Seraphin should both play a bit role in tonight's game.

Drew Gooden (hamstring) returned to action in Friday's preseason loss, logging 17 minutes with six points on 3-of-4 shooting with one assist and one steal.

Gooden is emergency and situational depth for the Wizards frontcourt with no real fantasy value.

Drew Gooden's strained hamstring didn't bother him during a full practice on Tuesday.

When asked if he'd play in Wednesday's exhibition, he replied, "I'm going to try it out." Even at full health, Gooden's limited role as a backup PF keeps him out of the discussion for fantasy owners.

Drew Gooden (hamstring) did not play in Sunday's preseason game vs. Detroit.

Gooden's injury isn't serious and with any luck he'll get back on the court for Wednesday's exhibition vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv. He's unlikely to have a big role off the bench this year, but will be sorely needed on opening night while Nene and DeJuan Blair serve one-game suspensions.

Drew Gooden is unlikely to play against the Pelicans on Wednesday due to a hamstring strain.

It doesn't sound major and he should be back in action next week. Gooden may actually be called upon in the opener with Nene and DeJuan Blair suspended for the first game. Although, the Wizards won't be asking him to play big minutes no matter the situation.

Drew Gooden will not be able to represent Finland in the 2014 FIBA World Cup.

His application for dual citizenship will not be cleared in time for the tournament, according to the Washington Post. Gooden's mother is Finnish and the 12-year vet was hoping to obtain dual citizenship and a Finnish passport so that he could represent the country this summer. He re-signed with the Wizards on a one-year deal this offseason.

Wizards veteran Drew Gooden hopes to play for Finland in this summer's FIBA World Cup.

Gooden's mother is Finnish and he should be eligible as long as he has obtained dual citizenship and a Finnish passport. The 12-year veteran was re-signed by Washington on a one-year contract this summer, coming off a season in which he averaged 8.3 points and 5.2 rebounds.

Drew Gooden has re-signed with the Wizards on a one-year deal at the veteran's minimum.

Gooden didn't have a team for much of the 2013-14 season but he played well after latching on with Washington in February. He'll play a bit role in a somewhat stacked frontcourt that already features Marcin Gortat, Nene, Kris Humphries and Kevin Seraphin.

Drew Gooden is expected to re-sign with the Wizards on a veteran's minimum deal, according to sources.

Gooden is likely to re-sign as it enables him to retain his Early Bird rights. He also had a great run with Washington averaging 8.3 points, and 5.2 rebounds on 53.1 percent shooting. Gooden is a guy that can offer much more to the Wizards organization than he can a fantasy basketball team, and he can be safely ignored in re-draft leagues.

Drew Gooden is likely to re-sign with the Wizards next season because it allows him to keep his Early Bird rights.

He can get as many as five years with a 7.5 percent increase in pay while it also doesn't affect the salary cap. If Gooden doesn't come back to the Wizards, he would lose his Early Bird rights and have to wait two more years to get it back. He was a diamond in the rough last year for the Wizards and they may give him minutes in the high teens next season.

Free agent Drew Gooden said that he will "hopefully" re-sign with the Wizards.

"I have a comfort level there like no other right now," he said. "I can’t see myself wanting to go play with another team, to prove myself again for another coach in another organization." Gooden had a surprisingly effective run with the Wizards last season, averaging 8.3 points on 53.1 percent shooting over 22 games, but the 32-year-old journeyman is no longer a fantasy consideration.

Drew Gooden scored four points on 2-of-4 shooting with five rebounds and no steals or blocks on Friday.

Gooden has sputtered lately and Nene isn't even back yet. Maybe he'll surprise us with another big night before it's all said and done but he's certainly worth dropping.
