Drew Gooden scored 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting (including three treys) with seven rebounds and three blocks in 18 minutes off the bench in Friday's Game 3 win over the Raptors.
Gooden is a high-risk, somewhat high-reward guy to look at as filler for your DFS lineup. Apr 24 - 11:11 PM

Date:

Drew Gooden played 23 minutes against the Raptors on Saturday with six points, 10 boards, two assists and one block.

The Raptors actually made Gooden look good today and his line could have been a lot better than this. Gooden had four offensive rebounds and looked as spry as ever. He'll likely be looking at minutes around 20 on Tuesday.
Apr 18 - 4:03 PM

Drew Gooden started for Nene (shoulder, ankle) on Tuesday and posted six points, 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in a road loss vs. the Pacers.

Washington benefited from a horrible offensive first half from the Pacers but couldn't capitalize, eventually falling 95-99 in double-OT. Gooden logged 38 minutes tonight but his minutes will fall drastically if Nene is cleared to play on Wednesday, so owners should keep a close eye on the injury report.
Apr 15 - 12:03 AM

Drew Gooden scored 16 points with three rebounds, two assists, one steal and three 3-pointers against the Grizzlies on Saturday.

If Drew Gooden hits three 3-pointers and scores 16, you better win. Gooden has actually been pretty good in his last five, averaging 10.8 points, 8.4 boards, 2.0 assists and 2.0 treys. He's on the radar as long as Nene is resting.
Apr 5 - 12:45 AM

Drew Gooden started for Nene (rest) in Friday's blowout win over the Knicks, scoring nine points on 3-of-9 shooting (including two threes) with 13 rebounds and one assist in 23 minutes.

If Nene misses more time, Gooden will be a desperation heave for owners on any given night.
Apr 4 - 12:43 AM

Drew Gooden and Otto Porter are starting against the Knicks on Friday.

Nene and Paul Pierce are getting some rest, so there should be plenty of minutes available. Gooden will likely only play in the 18-22 minute range while Kris Humphries and Kevin Seraphin should help him out. Porter should be able to log 34-38 minutes and is worth a look in daily leagues.
Apr 3 - 6:25 PM

Drew Gooden surprised with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting, three treys, 17 rebounds, four assists and one steal in 39 minutes off the bench on Friday.

These are what's known as 'Drew Gooden games.' Coming out of nowhere for near triple-double like numbers at a moment's notice, the problem for Gooden is actually keeping it up. Kris Humphries continues to miss time with a groin injury so give Gooden a look, but he comes with no guarantees that he'll be productive the next time out.
Mar 28 - 6:24 AM

The Wizards were trounced in Sacramento on Sunday despite Drew Gooden contributing 10 points, six rebounds and two steals off the bench.

He played 23 minutes, making 5-of-13 field goals to become one of three Wizards players in double-figures (Bradley Beal scored 19 and Nene added 11). Gooden's role has expanded with Kris Humphries (groin) on the shelf but he's still not a viable fantasy asset.
Mar 22 - 8:43 PM

Drew Gooden played 26 minutes in the starting lineup on Saturday with two points, nine rebounds, one assist and three steals.

Nene (personal) was with his family for the birth of his twins, so he should be back with the team very soon. Gooden can be kept on the wire in almost all leagues.
Mar 14 - 9:41 PM

Drew Gooden is in line to pick up more minutes against the Raptors on Wednesday.

With Kris Humphries (back) looking like he may miss Wednesday's game, Gooden could see some extra run against the Raptors. He stepped in after Humphries went down Monday night and scored 10 points with four rebounds and one three-pointers in 23 minutes, so the 33-year-old could be a solid plug-and-play option if Hump does indeed sit.
Feb 10 - 11:29 AM

Drew Gooden picked up some extra run with Kris Humphries (back) suffering an injury on Monday against the Magic, scoring 10 points with four rebounds and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes.

It sounds like Humphries could miss Wednesday, so Gooden may have another line like this one on Wednesday. He's very unlikely to play more than 24 minutes and it might even be less with coach Randy Wittman being able to prepare for not having Humphries.
Feb 9 - 11:15 PM

Drew Gooden (knee) is available to play for Friday's game against OKC.

That doesn't mean that he will play, and even if he does, he wouldn't offer enough statistics for use in any league. Leave him on the wire.
Jan 2 - 6:48 PM

Drew Gooden (knee) did not practice on Thursday.

We'll consider Gooden questionable for Friday's game against OKC, but his status shouldn't matter to owners in any league. He's gone scoreless in his last four outings, which is about all you need to know regarding his non-existent value.
Jan 1 - 5:44 PM

Drew Gooden started in place of Nene (suspended) and hit 8-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer for 18 points, five rebounds and an assist on Wednesday.

Gooden was great and you should pat yourself on the back if you gave him a spot start tonight. Kevin Seraphin played well in the preseason, but did nothing in limited minutes. Nene will be back for the next one, so Gooden shouldn't be nearly this good next time out.

Drew Gooden will start in place of Nene (suspended) on Wednesday.

With both Nene and DeJuan Blair suspended for this one, and Kris Humphries (finger) a game-time decision, Gooden and Kevin Seraphin should both play a bit role in tonight's game.
