Fred Jones started for Al Thornton, who was a late scratch with a sore shoulder, against the Raptors on Sunday, and scored just three points on 1-of-6 shooting with two rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Jones has seen a consistent 25 mpg since March 14, and with the Clippers already planning their vacations, it wouldn't surprise us to see him get some good run. That said, he hasn't done a whole lot with the PT he currently gets, and he will have to beat out backups like Mardy Collins and Steve Novak for playing time. Sun, Mar 22, 2009 08:56:00 PM

Fred Jones played 42 minutes off the Clippers bench on Monday, finishing a loss to the Spurs with 14 points, two 3-pointers, four rebounds, three assists and one steal.

Jones will play heavy minutes as long as Mardy Collins (foot), Eric Gordon (shoulder) and Ricky Davis (knee) are all out. There's no telling how long that will be, however, so use him with caution.

Fred Jones had 20 points, five boards, two assists and four 3-pointers on 6-of-9 shooting in Wednesday's loss.

Jones has had some nice lines this season, but is probably too inconsistent to be owned in most leagues.

The Clippers have signed Fred Jones for the remainder of the season.

Jones has had some nice games with the Clippers short-handed, but his minutes and value are set to take a significant hit with Baron Davis back in action.

Mike Dunleavy told the media prior to Wednesday's game that Fred Jones will be signed for the rest of the season.

His second 10-day contract was set to expire tonight, but Jones, who started, can rest easy for the remainder of the season. He started again at point guard tonight, but Baron Davis is expected to relieve him off the bench in this one.

Fred Jones started at point guard in place of injured Mardy Collins and Baron Davis on Monday, finishing with 19 points, four rebounds, seven assists and three 3-pointers in 43 minutes.

Congratulations if you picked him up and played him this week. Now you just have to hope that Collins (calf) and Baron Davis (tailbone) don't return mid-week as they are projected.

Fred Jones started for the injured Mardy Collins (calf) against the Warriors on Sunday, scoring eight points on 3-of-7 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds, six assists, one steal, and four turnovers in 35 minutes of action.

Jones should have value only if Mardy Collins, who is listed as day-to-day, continues to miss time. If so, Jones could provide owners in deep leagues with a one or two game band-aid for their point guard problems.

Fred Jones had 12 points, four rebounds, seven assists and two 3-pointers on 5-of-7 shooting in Friday's win.

He got extra minutes when Mardy Collins went down with a calf strain early in the game and could be worth a short-term play if Collins is going to miss much time with the injury.

Fred Jones scored 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting with two rebounds, 10 assists, and two steals in 30 minutes off the bench on Sunday.

Jones' assist totals may be a surprise, but not when you consider that the Clippers are playing without a true point guard. Ricky Davis just finished his drug suspension, and all of the Clippers' guards not named Eric Gordon or Baron Davis should take a hit in value.

Fred Jones played 33 minutes off the bench on Thursday, scoring 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting (2-of-3 from downtown) with two rebounds, three assists, and one block.

Jones was waived and back on the team within the week, highlighting how tenuous his grip on a roster spot really is. However, given the number of injuries facing the Clippers he could be worth a look if you're really desperate.

The Clippers have signed Fred Jones to a 10-day contract three days after waiving him.

The Clippers waived him to avoid having to guarantee his contract, but with so few healthy bodies in L.A., Jones gets another look. He could get some run while the team is banged up, but is only worth adding in extremely deep leagues.

The Clippers waived swingman Fred Jones and F Paul Davis on Monday.

They chose to let them go rather than sign them for the remainder of the season. Now that Davis is gone the Clippers are down to seven healthy players as of today.

X-rays came back negative on Clippers guard Fred Jones' sprained right foot. He is scheduled for an MRI on Monday, but doesn't expect to be out very long.

"In a day or so, I'll get it back strong and go back out there," Jones said. With Baron Davis (tailbone) and Jason Hart (elbow) both sidelined, Jones will likely be asked to play some point guard when he returns.

Clippers swingman Fred Jones sprained his foot during the first quarter of Sunday's game and did not return.

The Clippers now have seven injured players and their bench is ridiculously thin, particularly in the backcourt. Mardy Collins and Eric Gordon are going to play huge minutes, and Collins is worth a look if Jones is out for a substantial amount of time.

Fred Jones, who was signed on Sunday, had 16 points, four assists, three steals and a 3-pointer in Friday's loss.

He played 33 minutes for the short-handed Clippers and even saw some time at point guard with Baron Davis (tailbone) out and Jason Hart leaving tonight's game with an elbow injury. It's hard to imagine Jones being worth owning in most leagues, but keep your eye on him. Especially if Davis remains out with his injury.
