Matt Barnes will again draw the start on Thursday as the Clippers take on the Heat.
Barnes looks to have won his starting job back, and has scored in double figures in two of his last three outings. Hopefully he can continue his solid play tonight, as he has a favorable matchup vs. the Heat. He's worth a speculative add in standard leagues for his ability to contribute to each category on the stat sheet. Nov 20 - 6:50 PM

Matt Barnes started again and had 13 points, five rebounds, one assist, two steals, a block and three 3-pointers in Wednesday's easy win over the Magic.

This is the kind of line we were expecting on a regular basis from Barnes, but he's just recently started to show signs of life. He's scored in double figures in two of his last three games, has hit nine 3-pointers over his last four, and just recently moved back into the starting unit. If you've had your eye on him, now is the time to pick him up and hope this is just the start of something good. But up until the last week, he had no business being in fantasy lineups.
Nov 19 - 9:24 PM

Matt Barnes hit just 2-of-8 shots (2-of-6 from deep) for seven points with two rebounds and one assist in 29 minutes on Monday against the Bulls.

Whether it's his divorce or any other off-the-court issue, Barnes simply isn't getting it done. He can be watched from the wire.
Nov 18 - 2:15 AM

Matt Barnes admitted his recent divorce has impacted his play this season.

"It's tough. When you're going through a divorce it's hard," Barnes said. "We still have to show up and play." Barnes also added he doesn't care whether or not he starts, but he wants to work himself back into the mix after a slow start. Barnes is best left on the waiver wire.

Nov 17 - 12:00 PM

Matt Barnes started against the Suns on Saturday with 12 points two rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

He was coming off the bench because of his shooting issues. Barnes scored a season high tonight and perhaps he can get it going to climb back into the standard-league conversation. However, this game is not going to drive the demand up enough to pick him up.
Nov 16 - 3:25 AM

Matt Barnes was ejected from Saturday's game after receiving two technical fouls, finishing the game with 12 points, one board, one assist and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes in a start at small forward.

Barnes was up to his usual antics and couldn't keep his cool all night despite the Clippers having a huge lead throughout the game. He has been very disappointing this season and despite the fact that he started Saturday, he is simply too unreliable to own in standard leagues.
Nov 16 - 12:54 AM

Matt Barnes will start against the Suns on Saturday.

He was pushed to the bench against two bigger teams in the Blazers and Spurs, but the loss on Monday may have changed coach Doc Rivers' mind. Barnes has been a letdown so far and there's little reason to pick him up until he gets it going.
Nov 15 - 8:58 PM

Matt Barnes played 26 minutes off the bench on Saturday with four points, three rebounds, one steal and one block.

The minutes are a positive, but Barnes is likely going to stay in the second unit. Considering how much he's struggled, fantasy owners can probably cut him and not worry about anyone else picking him up. We'll let you know if he gets it going again.
Nov 8 - 8:32 PM

Matt Barnes will come off the bench against the Blazers on Saturday.

He's out there to space the floor, but he's really struggled with a paltry 26.3 percent from beyond the arc. Barnes' numbers are nowhere near what they were after the break last season, so fantasy owners in standard leagues should have no problem cutting him for a hot free agent like Mo Williams.
Nov 8 - 3:17 PM

Matt Barnes scored nine points on 3-of-7 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 30 minutes on Monday against the Jazz.

Barnes has a starting job and has shown some ability to produce in the past, but he still hasn't done anything this season to warrant a roster space in most standard leagues. If he starts to heat up be ready to make the add.
Nov 4 - 1:56 AM

Matt Barnes' struggles continued on Sunday as he shot just 3-of-11 from the field for seven points, one 3-pointers, one rebound, and three turnovers.

Barnes just hasn't been very good to start the year, and he's fallen out of the standard league conversation. However, he was still able to see 31 minutes of action for the Clippers, so the opportunity is there.
Nov 2 - 7:11 PM

Matt Barnes hit 2-of-4 shots (all threes) in Friday's win, scoring seven points with one rebound and one assist.

Barnes hasn't done much to inspire confidence in fantasy leagues and he's most certainly not a must-own player. He has shown the ability to put up serviceable value in the past, though, so owners shouldn't completely write him off.
Nov 1 - 1:56 AM

Matt Barnes started off his season nicely with seven points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal, two blocks and one 3-pointer on Thursday.

He shot a pathetic 3-of-36 in the preseason, so a 3-of-6 tonight is a nice turnaround. Barnes isn't going to light up the box score, but he'll add stats just about everywhere.
Oct 31 - 2:53 AM

Matt Barnes disastrous preseason continued on Wednesday when he missed all five of his shots to finish with two points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal.

He was 0-for-4 from downtown and has now hit just 3-of-36 shots in the preseason and exactly one 3-pointer. The good news is that he's (hopefully) getting all of this poor shooting out of his system when the games don't count. The bad news is that his confidence simply has to be taking a hit. As long as he's starting at SF for the Clippers, he'll retain his sleeper status. But if he doesn't fix his shot soon, Chris Douglas-Roberts could start to threaten his hold on the job. CDR wasn't great tonight, scoring just three points in 24 minutes.
Oct 23 - 1:50 AM

Matt Barnes' preseason doldrums continued on Tuesday, as he scored three points on 1-of-7 shooting with four assists, three steals and one block.

The defensive stats are nice but his shooting slump is out of control. He's now a combined 3-of-31 from the field this preseason, including 1-of-18 from downtown. Chris Douglas-Roberts is a looming threat to Barnes' playing time at SF, but he's still worth a flier pick for his sneaky across-the-board contributions.
