Matt Barnes (ankle) will not play in Game 4 on Monday vs. the Blazers.
Barnes hasn't played since April 8, but he was able to go through the morning shootaround which suggests that he's getting closer. He will simply provide some emergency depth off the bench once he's healthy with Kevin Durant (calf) returning to action. Apr 24 - 8:44 PM

Matt Barnes (ankle) went through shootaround, but remains questionable to play in Game 4 against the Trail Blazers on Monday.

Barnes has been out since April 8 with the ankle injury, and he was originally shooting to return for Game 3, so it feels like he's got to be close to getting back out there. Him going through shootaround is certainly a positive sign, but if Kevin Durant (calf) is also able to get back to the court tonight, Barnes might not even get in the rotation regardless of his playing status.
Apr 24 - 2:29 PM

Matt Barnes (right ankle/foot) is listed as questionable for Monday's game.

Barnes hasn't played since Apr. 8 and the Warriors have no incentive to rush him back with one victory separating them from the second round. Golden State could earn a long layoff with a victory on Monday, so there's a good chance Barnes will sit out again.
Apr 23 - 7:43 PM

Matt Barnes (foot, ankle) will not play on Saturday in Game 3 against the Blazers.

Even with Kevin Durant (calf) out, the Warriors should still be OK because of Andre Iguodala getting more postseason minutes than in the regular season. Pat McCaw will likely start and look to get some easy looks a la Harrison Barnes last year.
Apr 22 - 8:47 PM

Matt Barnes (ankle) is questionable to play in Game 3 against the Blazers on Saturday.

With Andre Iguodala getting a minutes increase and Ian Clark feasting against the Blazers, there really hasn't been much of a need for Barnes. Pat McCaw could get another start if Kevin Durant (calf) and Barnes can't make it.
Apr 21 - 3:23 PM

Matt Barnes (ankle) will not play vs. the Blazers on Wednesday.

Barnes was doubtful to play and he didn't go through shootaround, so this comes as no surprise. Kevin Durant (calf) is also out so we should see plenty of Pat McCaw and Andre Iguodala tonight.
Apr 19 - 8:51 PM

Matt Barnes (ankle) did not go through shootaround and he remains questionable to play in Game 2 against Portland on Wednesday.

The Dubs could be without both Kevin Durant (calf) and Barnes tonight, which would likely result in Patrick McCaw moving into the starting five with Andre Iguodala flirting with minutes in the mid-30s. Check back closer to tip-off for official confirmation on Barnes.
Apr 19 - 2:04 PM

Matt Barnes (ankle) is being listed as questionable for Game 2 on Wednesday.

Barnes was quoted on Sunday saying that he was hopeful to get back on the court for Game 3, so he seems a lot closer to doubtful for Game 2. However, if Kevin Durant (calf) is forced to the sidelines, there would be much more of a need for Barnes to get out there, so his playing status might hinge on what goes on with Durant. Stay tuned.
Apr 18 - 3:36 PM

Matt Barnes (ankle) said he might be able to return to the court for Game 3 against the Trail Blazers.

Barnes didn't completely rule out getting back on the floor for Game 2, but because he's still experiencing discomfort, he said that Game 3 is a much more realistic scenario. He won't be a major part of the Dubs' rotation during their postseason run.
Apr 16 - 3:07 PM

Matt Barnes (ankle) will not play in Game 1 against the Blazers on Sunday.

He is expected to miss more games after rolling his right ankle on Apr. 8. The Warriors are going to extend Andre Iguodala's minutes and Kevin Durant is back, so the Warriors won't be needing Barnes much in this series.
Apr 15 - 3:16 PM

Matt Barnes (ankle) is doubtful to play in Game 1 on Sunday.

While he should be in the rotation, the Warriors are not likely going to miss Barnes now that Kevin Durant is healthy again. Plus, the Warriors will likely be pushing up Andre Iguodala's minutes into the 30s in the postseason.
Apr 14 - 3:48 PM

Steve Kerr is doubtful that Matt Barnes (sprained right ankle) will be available for Game 1 of the Warriors' first-round playoff series.

The veteran forward has yet to resume on-court work, and it doesn't sound as though Kerr expects him to before the weekend. Andre Iguodala and Patrick McCaw could pick up a few extra minutes, but this doesn't have a big impact now that Kevin Durant is healthy.
Apr 12 - 8:53 PM

Matt Barnes (right ankle sprain) will not play on Monday vs. the Jazz or on Wednesday vs. the Lakers.

According to coach Steve Kerr, the injury isn't too bad and he's hopeful to have Barnes back for the first round of the playoffs. He wasn't going to play much with Kevin Durant back in the lineup anyways, but this means Patrick McCaw should pick up a few extra minutes.
Apr 10 - 8:53 PM

Matt Barnes (right ankle sprain) will not play Monday vs. the Jazz.

Barnes rolled his right ankle on Saturday, but his absence from Monday's game feels more precautionary than anything else. With Kevin Durant (knee) back in action, Barnes' playing status is irrelevant in most leagues.
Apr 9 - 4:26 PM

Matt Barnes rolled his right ankle and went to the locker room in the second quarter on Saturday and will not return.

He landed on Cheick Diallo's foot and limped to the locker under his own power. It didn't look too bad, but the Warriors won't need him today anyway. The good news is X-rays were negative for a break.
