Matt Barnes said that he'd like to re-sign with the Clippers.
"Chris and I have seen each other a few times after the season and that's something we've discussed," Barnes said on the radio, referring to Chris Paul. "I'm going to sit down and talk to my family and see where the market's at." Although Barnes would like to return, he may leave the team if he finds a multi-year offer elsewhere to his liking. This is the second time Barnes has hinted Paul will re-sign, and while that's the expectation, CP3 hasn't come right out and said it. Interestingly, Barnes also said that he's "not sure" if Vinny Del Negro will be head coach next year. May 9 - 10:50 AM

Matt Barnes suggested that he and fellow free agent Chris Paul "have already been talking about" re-signing with the Clippers next season.

"He's obviously the franchise player but we also talked about what I was thinking about doing," said Barnes. "Without giving anything away, he was doing his job [in recruiting me]." For his part, CP3 has consistently said that he's unsure what he'll do this summer.
May 5 - 9:26 AM

Matt Barnes scored 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting (including a three) with 10 rebounds and one assist in 28 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Barnes is a startable low-end asset and is worth owning in most formats.
Apr 13 - 1:24 AM

Matt Barnes (ankle) had seven points, two boards and two steals in 20 minutes on Wednesday.

It's nice to see him healthy, and he's safe to continue using as you have been.
Apr 4 - 1:40 AM

Matt Barnes (ankle) did not practice on Tuesday, but he's expected to play on Wednesday against the Suns.

Barnes logged 26 minutes on Monday and doesn't plan to take any time off, but his ankle soreness could hamper his production as he's playing at less than full strength. If he's limited in any way, Grant Hill could see a slightly larger role off the bench, but Caron Butler and Jamal Crawford are candidates to pick up the slack as well.
Apr 3 - 9:51 AM

Matt Barnes' ankle is still sore but it's not getting any worse.

Barnes logged 26 minutes in Monday's loss to the Pacers and emerged in decent shape. But as long as Caron Butler and Jamal Crawford are healthy, there's no upside here. Barnes is averaging just 7.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists over the last five games.
Apr 2 - 4:49 PM

Matt Barnes played through his sprained ankle on Monday, scoring eight points to go along with five rebounds and an assist in 26.5 minutes.

Barnes' ankle sprain can't be too bad if he's playing more than half of the game, and we don't expect him to miss any time with the issue.
Apr 2 - 9:30 AM

Matt Barnes (left ankle) will play against the Pacers on Monday.

"He'll give us what he can," coach Vinny Del Negro said. Barnes has been effective off the bench and despite just 26.0 minutes per game, he has value with the way he produces defense and threes. He's worth owning in standard leagues.
Apr 1 - 9:11 PM

Matt Barnes is dealing with a sprained left ankle.

The Clippers take on the Pacers on Monday, so we shouldn't have to wait much longer to hear how Barnes is doing and if he'll be forced to miss any time. If he has to hit the sidelines, Jamal Crawford, Caron Butler and even Grant Hill should all help to fill the void.

Matt Barnes scored six points on 2-of-4 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds, four assists and a steal in 26 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Barnes is trudging along through his four-game week and providing low-end value in the process. With three games on the slate in the next two weeks owners shouldn't be attached at the hip in standard formats.
Mar 30 - 2:09 AM

Matt Barnes tweaked an ankle on Tuesday but played through it to finish with 11 points, six rebounds, four assists, a steal, three blocks and a 3-pointer on 4-of-10 shooting.

His fantasy value took a hit with the return of Caron Butler, but Barnes made his mark tonight. The Clippers play their last four-game week of the season starting on Monday, meaning Barnes might be worth starting in deeper leagues.
Mar 20 - 1:12 AM

With Caron Butler back in the starting SF spot, Matt Barnes was limited to five points, five rebounds and three blocks off the bench on Sunday.

Jamal Crawford is still getting over his ankle injury but he logged 36 minutes tonight, and Butler's return makes Barnes an up-and-down option as the team's seventh-man. It doesn't help his case that L.A. only has one four-game week left on the schedule (Week 22).
Mar 17 - 6:26 PM

Matt Barnes started in place of Caron Butler (elbow) and while he hit just 5-of-15 shots, he came through with a full stat line of 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists, a steal, a block and two 3-pointers in Wednesday's tough loss to the sizzling Grizzlies.

Butler's going to miss at least a few games with his injury, meaning that Barnes is once again worth owning in almost all leagues.
Mar 14 - 2:08 AM

Matt Barnes shot 8-of-20 from the field for 19 points with three assists, one steal and one block in 36 minutes against the Nuggets.

His 36 minutes were the most since January 2 and the 20 attempts from the field set a season high. Jamal Crawford (ankle) did not play and the Clippers needed perimeter offense from some unusual suspects. He's worth owning in most standard situations for his ability to provide defensive stats and threes.
Mar 8 - 1:22 AM

Matt Barnes caught fire on Wednesday, hitting 7-of-12 shots and a season-high six 3-pointers on his way to 20 points, two rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in 29 minutes off the Clippers' bench.

Barnes had picked up four or more fouls in five straight games, but has been getting solid minutes anyway. He'd scored 8, 6 and 2 points in his previous three games, but should get a boost of confidence after tonight's game. And with Caron Butler cooling off, Barnes could be getting ready to go on another hot run. Just keep in mind the Clippers play just two games in the upcoming week, and then go 3-4-3-3-2 to finish the season.
