There is reportedly no active warrant out there for the arrest of Matt Barnes, so he's probable to play Wednesday in Dallas.
"There’s no warrant for him. Unless they indict him or issue a warrant for him there’s nothing anybody can do," the source said. Barnes was wanted for questioning stemming from an altercation that occurred early Monday morning at a New York nightclub, but authorities were unable to locate Barnes before he hopped on a plane to Dallas. Matt Barnes (personal) flew with the Kings to Dallas on Monday.

Barnes is reportedly being investigated by the NYPD for an incident that occurred early Monday morning, but he's innocent until proven guilty, so he'll likely be playing until this situation is resolved.
Dec 5 - 2:31 PM

Matt Barnes is wanted by the NYPD for questioning after he allegedly choked a woman inside a nightclub early Monday morning.

After he allegedly choked the woman, Barnes reportedly punched two other people who tried to intervene. Barnes left the scene before the cops showed up, but the NBA and Kings will likely investigate this along with the NYPD -- the Kings were in town after Sunday's meeting with the Knicks. It's worth noting that DeMarcus Cousins was shown in the video after the incident, but it's not clear if he was involved in any way. If the allegations are true, Barnes is going to be in hot water.

Dec 5 - 9:39 AM

Matt Barnes flopped in 17 bench minutes on Sunday, going 1-of-11 from the field with two points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Barnes tends to run hot and cold, and that's never been as true as the past few games -- he was coming off a huge performance with 12 points, 16 boards, five assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer. His fantasy value continues to be spoiled by fluctuating minutes, low usage, poor percentages, and sparse defensive stats.
Dec 4 - 10:26 PM

Matt Barnes scored 12 points with 16 rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes against the Celtics on Friday.

He probably should've started this game and may have helped against some of the action coach Brad Stevens runs. Barnes had a season high in boards and also had his first double-double of the season during this loss. He's seen his playing time start to trend up again with 29.0 per game in his last two. He's a sneaky low-end guy for his output in steals and treys.
Dec 2 - 10:48 PM

Matt Barnes was ejected from Sunday's game after a hard foul on Sean Kilpatrick, finishing with seven points, six assists, four rebounds and one block in 19 minutes.

Barnes is no stranger to league-sanctioned punishments, but it doesn't seem likely that he'll get a fine or suspension for the play. He returned to the bench tonight, where he's averaged more points (8.8), rebounds (4.8) and steals (0.7) than he has as a starter. The Kings' lineup is changing on a daily basis, so if you own Barnes his benching and ejection tonight isn't reason enough to cut him.
Nov 27 - 8:04 PM

Matt Barnes did not score in 29 minutes against the Thunder on Wednesday, adding four rebounds, five assists and one block.

As bad as the scoring side of this line is, Barnes did some other things and he was a team-high +17 in net rating. He looks to be locked in for his starting role and should have some low-end value in standard leagues.
Nov 24 - 1:40 AM

Matt Barnes took over as a starter on Sunday and finished with eight points, two 3-pointers, two assists, one rebound, one steal and three turnovers in 36 minutes.

After Friday's loss to the Clippers, coach Dave Joerger declared, "I’ve seen enough, I’m going to play small." He followed through with this new lineup and the fact that Barnes played 36 minutes speaks volumes -- it's reason enough for a speculative add in standard leagues.
Nov 21 - 12:54 AM

Matt Barnes will replace Kosta Koufos in the starting lineup on Sunday.

The Kings are ranked 29th in pace this season and they're looking to pick it up, so this move makes plenty of sense. Barnes has flirted with standard-league value throughout the season, and a speculative pickup makes sense now that he's starting.
Nov 20 - 8:59 PM

Matt Barnes scored 15 points with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and four 3-pointers in 30 minutes against the Clippers on Friday.

That's back-to-back 15-point games for Barnes. He's seen his role solidify in his last six games, averaging 9.2 points, 6.0 boards, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.5 treys in 27.0 minutes per game. Barnes figures to hang in the top 125 for fantasy value while he's healthy and getting consistent minutes.
Nov 19 - 2:54 AM

Matt Barnes hit just 3-of-8 shots and 1-of-4 3-pointers for seven points, five boards, two steals and two blocks in Thursday's loss to the Lakers.

The minutes were there and he came through with a 3-pointer, steals and blocks, but he still hasn't been able to break out for the Kings. He's a nice player to stash in case he gets it figured out, but still isn't a must-own fantasy player at this point.
Nov 11 - 1:23 AM

Matt Barnes came off the bench and played 27 minutes, but hit just 2-of-5 shots and a 3-pointer for five points, eight rebounds, three assists and nothing else on Tuesday.

Barnes is getting a lot of opportunity but has had trouble being consistent with his minutes. He's worth keeping a close eye on, but simply isn't a must-own player at this point.
Nov 9 - 1:51 AM

Matt Barnes played 30 minutes off the bench on Sunday, scoring eight points with 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Barnes has battled a rib injury all season and Kings coach Dave Joerger recently said that he's played Barnes too many minutes, so the playing time was a surprise tonight. Barnes has quickly emerged as the Kings' sixth-man, but his sporadic fantasy value isn't enough for ownership in typical 12-team leagues.
Nov 6 - 9:34 PM

Matt Barnes played 14 minutes against the Bucks on Saturday with six points, two rebounds, two assists and no turnovers.

Coach Dave Joerger said he wanted to limit Barnes’ playing time a bit. Barnes has battled through his rib soreness and is frequently grimacing in pain, so that explains the 14 minutes. He'll likely have his minutes down until he shows he's closer to pain-free.
Nov 5 - 11:55 PM

Coach Dave Joerger said Matt Barnes (ribs) has played too many minutes.

Despite battling rib soreness for most of the season, Barnes will be out there on Saturday. The Kings may be leaning on Omri Casspi more than anticipated with Rudy Gab (ribs) out tonight. We may also see more small-ball lineups.
