Matt Barnes announced on Monday that he's officially retiring from the NBA.
Barnes picked up a ring with Golden State during the 2016-17 season, but the 37-year-old didn't receive any contract offers he liked during the offseason, so he'll go ahead and retire. Click the link below for a very Matt Barnes retirement announcement. Mon, Dec 11, 2017 04:53:00 PM

Matt Barnes has pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge stemming from his involvement in a New York City nightclub brawl back in December.

Barnes will need to complete 10 days of community service as part of his punishment, and he will also likely be receiving a fine or suspension from the league for his involvement in the late-night altercation.

Matt Barnes said that he does not plan on retiring at the end of the season.

This is Barnes' 14th season in the league. He has played for nine teams. "I think I’ve still got a little bit left in the tank," Barnes said. "Obviously, I’d like to come back here and finish up here, but I feel like I’ve got another year or two left in the tank." He has likely played well enough this season to earn a one-year deal at the veteran's minimum next season.

Matt Barnes (ankle) returned to action in Game 1 vs. the Jazz on Tuesday, finishing scoreless with one assist in four minutes.

It looks like the Warriors are comfortable with Shaun Livingston, Ian Clark, Andre Iguodala, David West and JaVale McGee as their primary second-unit players, so Barnes isn't going to help fantasy owners any time soon.

Matt Barnes (ankle) is available for Game 1 vs. the Jazz on Tuesday.

He was originally listed as probable, so no surprises here. It's going to be interesting to see if Barnes takes Patrick McCaw's minutes, but don't expect him to play too much with the Warriors at full strength.

Matt Barnes (ankle) remains listed as probable for Game 1 vs. Utah on Tuesday.

The Warriors updated their injury report on Tuesday afternoon, but there were no changes. Barnes is still on track to play for the first time since initially injuring his ankle back on April 8th. Barnes will likely only see limited minutes off the bench, unless the game gets out of hand.

Matt Barnes is probable for Game 1 vs. the Jazz on Tuesday.

He hasn't played since Apr. 8, and with Kevin Durant healthy, Barnes can only expect to see a handful of minutes at best. If Barnes enters the rotation, he will likely take minutes away from Patrick McCaw.

Mike Brown said that Matt Barnes (ankle) is "really close" to getting back to the court, but Shaun Livingston (index finger) is a little behind Barnes at this point.

Barnes sat out Golden State's first-round series, but it sounds like he'll be back in action for Game 1 against the Jazz on Tuesday, although he probably won't play all that much with Kevin Durant healthy. Livingston remains questionable to play in Game 1, and if he's unable to give it a go, Ian Clark will pick up most of his reserve minutes.

Matt Barnes (ankle) is probable for Game 1 on Tuesday.

He did not play at all in the first series due to an ankle sprain way back on Apr. 8. The Warriors added Barnes to help fill the void left from the Kevin Durant injury, so he's probably not going to play much in the playoffs. Plus, Andre Iguodala has been a difference maker.

Matt Barnes (ankle) will not play in Game 4 on Monday vs. the Blazers.

Barnes hasn't played since April 8, but he was able to go through the morning shootaround which suggests that he's getting closer. He will simply provide some emergency depth off the bench once he's healthy with Kevin Durant (calf) returning to action.

Matt Barnes (ankle) went through shootaround, but remains questionable to play in Game 4 against the Trail Blazers on Monday.

Barnes has been out since April 8 with the ankle injury, and he was originally shooting to return for Game 3, so it feels like he's got to be close to getting back out there. Him going through shootaround is certainly a positive sign, but if Kevin Durant (calf) is also able to get back to the court tonight, Barnes might not even get in the rotation regardless of his playing status.
Mon, Apr 24, 2017 02:29:00 PM

Matt Barnes (right ankle/foot) is listed as questionable for Monday's game.

Barnes hasn't played since Apr. 8 and the Warriors have no incentive to rush him back with one victory separating them from the second round. Golden State could earn a long layoff with a victory on Monday, so there's a good chance Barnes will sit out again.
Sun, Apr 23, 2017 07:43:00 PM

Matt Barnes (foot, ankle) will not play on Saturday in Game 3 against the Blazers.

Even with Kevin Durant (calf) out, the Warriors should still be OK because of Andre Iguodala getting more postseason minutes than in the regular season. Pat McCaw will likely start and look to get some easy looks a la Harrison Barnes last year.

Matt Barnes (ankle) is questionable to play in Game 3 against the Blazers on Saturday.

With Andre Iguodala getting a minutes increase and Ian Clark feasting against the Blazers, there really hasn't been much of a need for Barnes. Pat McCaw could get another start if Kevin Durant (calf) and Barnes can't make it.

Matt Barnes (ankle) will not play vs. the Blazers on Wednesday.

Barnes was doubtful to play and he didn't go through shootaround, so this comes as no surprise. Kevin Durant (calf) is also out so we should see plenty of Pat McCaw and Andre Iguodala tonight.
