The Clippers are considering packaging forward Matt Barnes and the 28th overall pick for either Iman Shumpert, Tony Allen, or Gerald Green.
It is clear the Clippers are trying to upgrade on the wings with this trade, and moving Barnes may be a step in the right direction. The Clippers tried to trade for Shumpert at the deadline this past season, and both Tony Allen and Gerald Green both played for Doc Rivers during his time in Boston. Jun 26 - 6:17 PM

Matt Barnes went scoreless during Sunday's Game 4 win over the visiting Thunder, shooting 0-of-6 from the field with two rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes.

Danny Granger was also scoreless in 14 minutes off the bench and neither Jared Dudley (DNP-CD) nor Hedo Turkoglu (back) stepped foot on the court, but L.A. was able to overcome their utter lack of production from the SF position thanks to clutch performances from Chris Paul, Jamal Crawford and Darren Collison.
May 11 - 6:40 PM

Matt Barnes scored 10 points in 28 minutes of action during the Clippers' Game 1 romp in Oklahoma City on Monday.

He jammed his big toe during the first round of the playoffs but it doesn't seem to have impacted his play, and his 28.9 minutes per game in the postseason ranks fourth-highest on the Clippers, ahead of J.J. Redick, Jamal Crawford and Darren Collison.
May 6 - 5:05 PM

Matt Barnes suffered a jammed left big toe on Thursday and was able to return, finishing with no points, three boards, two assists and four steals.

After sustaining the injury, he was on the bench in serious pain while the training staff was adjusting his toe. Barnes isn't having a great series against one of his teams, averaging 5.0 points, 2.7 boards and 2.0 assists in three games. He will likely miss some practice time and should be considered questionable for Game 4.
Apr 25 - 2:05 AM

Matt Barnes (illness) will start against the Thunder on Wednesday.

He has strep throat and missed Tuesday's practice. Barnes has really come on strong since the break, averaging 13.8 points, 5.1 boards, 1.2 steals, 0.6 blocks and 2.3 triples. Those are must-start numbers in standard formats.
Apr 9 - 9:17 PM

Matt Barnes missed Tuesday's practice with an illness.

That's all we know for now, which will leave him questionable for Wednesday's game against the Thunder. We should know more about his status tomorrow afternoon.
Apr 8 - 1:58 PM

Matt Barnes scored 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting (including three treys) with six rebounds, three assists and two steals in Monday's win.

Barnes is on autopilot right now as the healthiest and most productive wing the Clippers have going. It would be relatively surprising to see him fall off before the season's end, but if it's going to happen it's going to take Jamal Crawford (calf) and J.J. Redick (back) returning at the same time with sexy results.
Apr 1 - 1:14 AM

Matt Barnes played 38 minutes vs. the Rockets on Saturday, scoring 15 points with 10 boards, two assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers.

Coach Doc Rivers used him as a stretch four quite a bit tonight and he'll be a part of the solution should the Clippers be without Blake Griffin (back) at all. Barnes has already been worth owning in standard leagues, so tonight's developments put him in must-own territory.
Mar 29 - 11:11 PM

Matt Barnes scored just eight points on 3-of-8 shooting with one rebound, one assist and one steal in Monday's win over the Bucks.

Barnes hit two threes to keep things semi-respectable and his next challenge is to hold his value when J.J. Redick and Jamal Crawford are fully up to speed. We're not going to panic after one bad outing and an inefficient, but productive outing on Saturday -- but if it happens again the next time out we may sing a different tune. It's worth adding that the Clippers have two straight four-game weeks in this period and the next.
Mar 25 - 2:18 AM

Matt Barnes hit just 5-of-16 shots and 2-of-10 free throws for 14 points, seven rebounds, a steal and two blocks in Saturday's win.

He's averaging 12.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.8 3-pointers over his last five games. He's starting and getting 30 minutes a night and the Clips play four games in each of the next two scoring periods.
Mar 23 - 1:18 AM

Matt Barnes stayed hot against the Jazz on Friday with 15 points, two boards, three assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes.

Jamal Crawford (calf) shouldn't be out much longer, but chances are Barnes shouldn't be affected. He's played far too well to be bumped from minutes and the Clippers will probably just not go with three-guard lineups like they've done before.
Mar 15 - 12:28 AM

Matt Barnes hit 6-of-12 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points, four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in Saturday's win over the Hawks.

He missed six 3-pointers as well, but has been on fire for a couple weeks. Danny Granger isn't slowing him down, although we would have liked to see Barnes play more in fourth quarter of tonight's win. The Clippers play four times next week and Barnes should now be owned in all leagues.
Mar 9 - 1:49 AM

Matt Barnes hit 7-of-13 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals in Thursday's 142-94 win over the Lakers.

Had the game not been over after the first quarter, Barnes may have had a truly magical night. As it was, he hooked his owners up with a huge night and is simply rolling right now. Make sure he's on your roster and in your lineup if possible, as he's showing no signs of slowing down. He had 28 points and a full stat line on Tuesday, and has been playing at a high level for weeks.
Mar 7 - 1:39 AM

Matt Barnes scored a game-high 28 points against the Suns on Tuesday to go with six boards, two assists, one steal, one block and four 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

His scoring also set a season high and he's really heating up. Over his last five, Barnes averaged 17.8 points, 4.8 boards, 2.4 assists, 0.8 blocks, 1.2 triples and 3.4 triples in 32.8 minutes. He's playing much better than newly-acquired Danny Granger and should be owned in standard leagues while he's rolling like he is.
Mar 5 - 1:10 AM

Matt Barnes stayed hot on Saturday, hitting 5-of-9 shots and four 3-pointers for 14 points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in another start for the Clippers.

Danny Granger's arrival in L.A. could hurt Barnes, but he's been rolling, averaging 15.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.2 3-pointers over his last five games. With or without Granger, Barnes deserves to be owned in all leagues right now.
