Matt Barnes made 1-of-10 from the field for four points against the Spurs on Wednesday with 10 rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes.
His defense was just as bad as his offense tonight. Simply put, Barnes will want to forget this game ASAP. Apr 23 - 1:50 AM

Matt Barnes scored 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting (including three treys) with one rebound, one assist and one block in 30 minutes against the Nuggets on Monday.

Barnes was dealing with swelling in his toe over the weekend and though the activity numbers may have reflected that tonight -- it's good to see him on the floor and playing through it. The Clippers will play Tuesday's game with the intention of winning to improve their seeding, and on a light night he's worth starting.

Matt Barnes admitted that his divorce was a distraction earlier in the season.

"You have two hurt ex-husband and wives acting out in public and then there's kids involved," Barnes said. "It was a mess." Barnes has taken a step back in April after a torrid March, as he's averaging just 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 triples on 39.5 percent shooting, including 23.3 percent from downtown. Last month, Barnes shot 44.7 percent overall and 41.0 percent from behind the three-point line.

Matt Barnes is dealing with a lot of swelling in his toe after Saturday's game vs. the Grizzlies.

Barnes said his toe swelled up like a balloon and that it was a similar injury to the one he had in the playoffs last season. The Clippers obviously don't want him to carry an injury into the playoffs, so it's possible that he sees some time on the shelf. We will update his status once we know more, but we will consider him questionable for Monday's game vs. Denver. If Barnes misses time, J.J. Redick, Jamal Crawford and Hedo Turkoglu would benefit. Barnes finished with nine points, five boards, two assists and one steal in 35 minutes vs. the Grizzlies.
Apr 12 - 1:23 AM

Matt Barnes left Saturday's game vs. the Grizzlies with an apparent foot injury but will be able to return for the second half.

It was never expected to be anything serious, and it looks like he should be fine moving forward. We will have another update after the game.
Apr 11 - 11:10 PM

Matt Barnes said that Lakers' management, and not Kobe Bryant, is the reason the Lakers have become an unattractive destination for potential free agents.

"The reason people don’t want to go to the Lakers is because of management," said Barnes. "Kobe can be the scapegoat all they want but if you play hard, Kobe likes you. And if you bulls--- around, he doesn’t. It’s plain and simple." This year's Los Angeles Lakers squad will go down as the worst team in franchise history since moving to Los Angeles, which is a tough selling point for perspective free agents. With Kobe on his last legs, the Lakers franchise appears to be headed for some dark times.

Matt Barnes (hamstring) returned to action on Friday, scoring eight points on 3-of-10 shooting (including two threes) with four rebounds and two blocks in 31 minutes.

Unless you couldn't hold an injured player, Barnes and his mid-round value from the last third of the season shouldn't have hit the waiver wire. If it did, pick him up.
Mar 21 - 3:06 AM

Matt Barnes (hamstring) will play against the Wizards on Friday night.

He went through shootaround today and should be ready to go. Barnes was playing very well before his injury and the Clippers will need him because of Jamal Crawford (calf) still being out. Barnes is worth a look in standard leagues.
Mar 20 - 8:52 PM

Matt Barnes (hamstring) went through shootaround on Friday and called himself a game-time decision to play against the Wizards.

This is a mild surprise after the team ruled him out for Wednesday's game early in the day. The Clippers basically slotted Hedo Turkoglu into Barnes' minutes and were able to get wins in each of their last two. Barnes was red hot before his injury with 18.3 points per game in his previous three games before the injury, making him worth a look in standard leagues.
Mar 20 - 2:30 PM

Matt Barnes (hamstring) is listed as out for Wednesday's game against the Kings.

He may have tweaked his ailing hamstring on Sunday during a celebration and he's likely going to miss a couple games considering the Clippers are looking to add a small forward. J.J. Redick dropped 23 points on Tuesday and will be the main winner for owners in standard leagues. Expect to see more Nate Robinson, Hedo Turkoglu and Austin Rivers, as well.
Mar 18 - 2:35 PM

Head coach Doc Rivers said that the Clippers may look to add another small forward due to the injury of Matt Barnes (hamstring).

This news suggests that Barnes' injury could be a little more severe than anticipated, and his status has not yet been determined for Wednesday's game vs. the Kings. We should know more prior to tip-off, so Barnes' owners should remain patient until we get further details. If Barnes can't give it a go tonight, Hedo Turkolu will likely get another chance to start, but he isn't a reliable option in most leagues.
Mar 18 - 10:52 AM

Matt Barnes (hamstring) will not play vs. the Hornets on Tuesday, while Hedo Turkoglu will draw the start.

He has been dealing with a nagging hamstring for a couple weeks now and even missed two games earlier in March, so hopefully we will see him back out on the court soon. We will consider him questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Kings, and we will continue to track his progress very closely. Barnes was playing very well in recent games, and his owners should remain patient and wait to see if he gives it a go Wednesday. For what it's worth, Turkoglu is only an option in very deep leagues at the moment.
Mar 17 - 8:52 PM

Matt Barnes (hamstring) is questionable to play against the Hornets on Tuesday.

He may have tweaked his hamstring after celebrating a basket on Sunday. Barnes has also been dealing with his ailing hamstring for a couple weeks. His fantasy owners will want to check back for an update at Tuesday shootaround. If he's out, there could be more minutes for Austin Rivers and J.J. Redick. Jordan Hamilton (ankle) is also questionable.
Mar 16 - 7:46 PM

Matt Barnes drained five more 3-pointers on Sunday, scoring 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting, with two rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and two turnovers over 36 minutes of action.

Barnes has been en fuego from beyond the arc over his past four games, knocking down 17 three-pointers during that span on an unsustainable 51.5 percent shooting. Barnes is making up for all those misses he had to start the season, and while there's no way he continues to drain 3-pointers at this current rate, his ability to offer a little bit of everything makes him a must-own guy in standard leagues.
Mar 15 - 7:28 PM

Matt Barnes scored 14 points with four rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Mavs on Friday.

It's probably safe to say his hamstring is healthy. Barnes scored 22 points on Wednesday and is worth a long look in standard leagues now. Blake Griffin (elbow) will be back soon, but Barnes' fantasy value is tied more to the status of Jamal Crawford (calf), who is expected to be out for a few more games.
