Matt Barnes came off the bench on Tuesday vs. the 76ers and scored 10 points with nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and two triples in 23 minutes.
The Warriors rested all of their studs against the Spurs on Saturday and Barnes posted a nice line with 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes, but despite another solid line tonight, he isn't worth deploying outside of deeper leagues until the Warriors rest their studs again. Matt Barnes scored 14 points with nine rebounds, five assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday.

If there is a positive for Barnes, it's that Pat McCaw had a historically bad game. Barnes is going to split minutes with McCaw going forward, so he'll be tough to trust.
Mar 12 - 12:30 AM

Matt Barnes is starting vs. the Spurs on Saturday.

The Warriors will only have 10 players available on Saturday with GSW resting four of their studs and Kevin Durant (knee) still on the shelf. Barnes is looking at 30+ minutes tonight, but he's just a low-end streaming option that will be irrelevant the next time out.
Mar 11 - 7:12 PM

Matt Barnes scored five points with two rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 10 minutes against the Wolves on Friday.

He's going to see more minutes on Saturday night with playing time at the three and four. Barnes likely won't be too involved in the offense and he is 37 years old, so he may not get too much of an increase in output with the Warriors resting their stars.
Mar 10 - 11:57 PM

Matt Barnes played 13 minutes off the bench on Wednesday, missing all three of his shot attempts to finish scoreless with four rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks.

Barnes was far from the only Warriors player to struggle tonight, but this crystallizes his lack of fantasy appeal since signing with Golden State. If you picked him up after Kevin Durant's injury, there's no reason to cling to him over more promising free agents.
Mar 9 - 1:47 AM

Matt Barnes came off the bench and hit 1-of-5 shots (a 3-pointer) for five points, seven rebounds, three assists and a block in 18 minutes on Monday.

He hasn't been too impressive in his latest stint with the Warriors and Andre Iguodala, who scored a season-high 24 points tonight, looks like a much more reliable fantasy play right now. Dropping Barnes for Iguodala makes a lot of sense, if you own Barnes.
Mar 6 - 10:52 PM

Matt Barnes will come off the bench behind Patrick McCaw on Monday vs. the Hawks.

Barnes started on Sunday and had three points with one 3-pointer, three rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and one turnover in 19 minutes, but the Warriors are going to rotate their starting small forwards based on the matchups. Barnes can be left on the wire in standard leagues.
Mar 6 - 6:23 PM

Matt Barnes started and scored three points on 1-of-3 shooting on Sunday, adding one 3-pointer, three rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block and one turnover in 19 minutes.

This was Barnes first start in a Warriors' uniform since the 2008 season, but Steve Kerr wouldn't commit to Barnes starting long-term, calling his inclusion in the starting five more of a matchup-based decision. Barnes needs roughly 30 minutes a game to make a difference in most leagues, but that probably won't happen with Andre Iguodala and Patrick McCaw healthy.
Mar 5 - 6:08 PM

Matt Barnes will move into the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Knicks, sending Patrick McCaw to the bench.

Barnes logged just 12 minutes off the bench in his Dubs debut on Thursday, but he should be flirting with minutes in the 20s tonight, and he'll start out the game as Carmelo Anthony's primary defender. Barnes could be worth throwing out there as a DFS punt play, but McCaw isn't a great option as his minutes could dip back into the teens as a reserve.
Mar 5 - 2:14 PM

Matt Barnes’ attorney requested that his client’s trial in an assault case be pushed back until June 27 — after a possible NBA Finals run.

"I have reason to believe my client will be playing in the NBA finals," attorney Alex Spiro said Friday. Barnes faces third-degree assault charges, a misdemeanor, and obstruction of breathing for his involvement in a Dec. 5 altercation at a Manhattan bar. No fantasy impact to note here.
Mar 4 - 12:51 PM

Matt Barnes made his Warriors season debut against the Bulls on Thursday, scoring two points with two turnovers in 12 minutes.

It was a night to forget with several missed defensive assignments, including some late closeouts. Barnes figures to get more run and he did close this game out, but there isn't going to be much upside due to how he'll have to share minutes with Andre Iguodala and Pat McCaw. Barnes is only worth a look in very deep leagues. Maybe his minutes go up and he improves as he gets more acclimated.
Mar 2 - 10:41 PM

Matt Barnes is available for Thursday against the Bulls.

The Warriors are likely going to use him right out of the gate. Obviously Barnes isn't even close to the player Kevin Durant is, but both guys can play both forward spots. The Warriors won't be counting on his offense too much, so he's not really a fantasy option in standard leagues. He's worth a look in deep 16-team formats, though.
Mar 2 - 6:41 PM

The Warriors have officially signed Matt Barnes for the remainder of the season.

Additionally, Barnes will be in uniform for Thursday's game vs. the Bulls, but he's not a lock to play considering he hasn't practiced with the team. With Kevin Durant (knee) out several weeks and iffy to return for the regular season, Barnes could work his way into the starting lineup if the Warriors want to keep Andre Iguodala in the second unit. To be clear, he's only on the radar in deeper leagues.
Mar 2 - 11:36 AM

The Warriors will sign Matt Barnes for the rest of the season in the wake of Kevin Durant's left knee injury that might cost him the rest of the regular season.

The Warriors will reportedly sign Jose Calderon, as promised, and then waive him to make room for Barnes, who will be signed for the rest of the season, and not just a 10-day contract. Barnes is being brought in to replace KD and while those are some huge shoes to fill, it will allow the Warriors to potentially slot Barnes into the starting lineup immediately without disrupting the rest of their lineup and rotation. "It's a dream come true!" Barnes said. "I feel like I helped start something in '07, and now I'm coming back to help finish it." If your waiver wire is bare and you just lost Durant, grabbing Barnes might be the best option available to you right now. He's expected to be officially signed some time later in the week, so it's unknown exactly when he'll make his latest Warriors' debut.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Warriors are planning to sign Matt Barnes for the remainder of the season.

While the Warriors have not provided an official update since Kevin Durant's (knee) MRI, it sounds like they are preparing for him to miss some time. Barnes could even start in Golden State if Durant misses any action, as they probably want to keep Andre Iguodala in a bench role. Barnes isn't worth stashing for now, while Durant's owners will have to wait until Wednesday afternoon for an update on KD.
