Rasual Butler scored nine points with one rebound, one block and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes against the Nets on Saturday.
He was surging to end 2014, but Butler has really cooled off over his last five. In that span, he averaged 6.6 points, 2.6 boards, 0.8 assists and 0.8 treys. He can be cut in most formats. Jan 18 - 1:06 AM

Rasual Butler played 24 minutes off the bench and hit 6-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers for 14 points, two assists, a steal and two blocks in Wednesday's win over the Knicks.

Paul Pierce was out and starter Otto Porter struggled, so Butler got some nice run tonight. He's had some big games, but as long as the starters are healthy in Washington, he's just too inconsistent to trust.

The Washington Wizards are expected to retain Rasual Butler.

He has been fantastic this season off the bench for the Wizards so it makes a lot of sense to keep him around. Butler's $1.4 million contract is expected to become fully guaranteed soon and the Wizards have instead decided to cut ties with Glen Rice Jr. by either trading or waiving him. While it is good to see Butler hang around, he still doesn't have a large enough role to be a factor in most fantasy leagues, so he can be left on the wire with confidence.

Rasual Butler did not hit a three on Friday, finishing with eight points on 3-of-7 shooting with six rebounds in 27 minutes.

The minutes are a good sign with Paul Pierce logging 32 minutes, and on the season he has been a late-round value, but he's shooting way over his head and the regression will likely keep him in a deep-league position.

Rasual Butler came off the bench for 23 points, five rebounds, two assists, a steal, a block and four 3-pointers on 9-of-15 shooting in 28 minutes.

He went on a tear like this about two weeks ago, but then dried up and did almost nothing after owners picked him up. We're crediting tonight's performance to the absence of Pierce, as he hadn't scored more than eight points in any of his previous four games. Don't expect Butler to start playing like this on a regular basis, but any time Pierce is out, remember to give Butler a look in daily leagues. And if you're in a deep league and are simply looking for a warm body, feel free to take a flier on him.

Rasual Butler scored just seven points on 3-of-7 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds and one steal in 25 minutes off the bench on Monday.

Butler showed why owners had some trepidation picking him up with this dud tonight. The best hope here is that the explosions outweigh the duds and while he's been pretty good this year he's still Rasual Butler.

Rasual Butler made 8-of-17 from the field for 22 points in 30 minutes against the Celtics on Sunday, adding four rebounds, one steal and six triples.

He is rolling over his last four with averages of 18.8 points, 3.5 boards, 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 3.3 triples on 54.3 percent from the field. That's basically Kyle Korver right there and is must-start material. While the Wizards need another shooter, the problem is that Martell Webster (back) will come back and hurt him. Still, if you need treys, it's tough to leave Butler on the wire in standard formats.

Rasual Butler continued his surprising output against the Nuggets on Friday during an easy 119-89 win with 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, two blocks, three steals and two 3-pointers.

While this might look like a garbage-time special, Butler did most of his damage in the first half. He's been unbelievable over his last five, averaging 16.2 points, 3.4 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.2 triples in that span. He should have some value in deep leagues until Martell Webster (back) returns.

Rasual Butler hit 5-of-7 shots and two 3-pointers for 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in Wednesday's win.

It's been an all-or-nothing situation with Butler lately, as he's scored 6, 23, 5, 23 and now 14 points in each of his last five games. He's worth keeping an eye on with Paul Pierce now iffy with a toe injury, but isn't a player most owners should be targeting right now.

Rasual Butler said he was trying to be more aggressive during Monday's win over the Heat during which he scored 23 points off the bench.

Butler saw 33 minutes during the blowout and was even on the court early due to Bradley Beal's foul trouble. "I was just trying to be aggressive," Butler said. "I understood that [Beal] was out of the game early, so I felt like coming to the game a little earlier, I needed to be aggressive for us. John talked to me about being aggressive when I came into the game." While Butler can go off from time to time, those games are too few and far between for fantasy owners in standard leagues to make a pickup here.

Rasual Butler erupted for 23 points off the bench in Monday's blowout win, hitting 8-of-14 shots (including three treys) with three rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes.

Butler has had a handful of these games but hasn't put anything consistent together. The explosions have pushed his season-long value up into the 14-team range, but even in those formats he's going to be hard to count on.

Rasual Butler scored five points against the Pelicans on Saturday with six rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer.

It wasn't a big game, but he did play 23 minutes tonight. Butler has played more than 23 minutes in five of his last eight games, but the three others he only played a combined 15 minutes in the other three. Obviously he's only an option in deep leagues.

Rasual Butler scored 23 points against the Cavs on Wednesday with one rebound, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 28 minutes.

He did score nine of those points in garbage time, but this is still an eye-catching game even before that output. The Wizards were built on the catch-and-shoot makes last year, so it is somewhat possible Butler gets a little run while Martell Webster (back) is sidelined. He's still only worth a look in deep leagues, but this is his second 28-minute game in the last three games.
Wed, Nov 26, 2014 11:21:00 PM

Rasual Butler took advantage of his season-high 27 minutes during Wednesday's win over Detroit and scored 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting.

This is likely the high-water mark for Butler's season as he's the team's 15th man and won't get to see this many minutes when Bradley Beal returns from injury next week. Fantasy owners can feel free to steer clear of the 11-year vet.
Thu, Nov 13, 2014 11:50:00 AM

Rasual Butler came off the Wizards bench to hit 7-of-8 shots and two 3-pointers for 18 points and a steal on Wednesday.

Garrett Temple suffered because of Butler's play, hitting just 1-of-5 shots for six points, one assist, two steals and no 3-pointers. Butler may not do this again this season, but Temple's hot start could be over. And both guys will take a big hit when Bradley Beal returns in the next week or so.
