The Spurs have reportedly waived Rasual Butler in order to make room for Kevin Martin on the roster.
Butler wasn't worth owning before this report, and there are not much fantasy implications here. Martin will offer some backcourt depth to the Spurs, but it's unlikely he'll be able to produce standard league value while fighting for minutes with Danny Green and Manu Ginobili. Mar 9 - 1:10 PM

Rasual Butler scored eight points with one rebound and one block in 20 minutes against the Clippers on Thursday.

He picked up most of Kawhi Leonard's minutes tonight. With Kawhi likely out on Friday, Butler could get minutes in around 20 again. He's obviously only worth a look in very deep leagues.

Rasual Butler scored seven points with five rebounds, two assists and one 3-pointer against the 76ers on Monday in 27 minutes.

He returned from a two-game absence and saw some extra run with Kawhi Leonard (illness) out. Butler has very little value in almost any league.

Rasual Butler will play against the 76ers on Monday.

He should get some playing time with Kawhi Leonard (illness) out. Butler is not a fantasy option in almost any league.

Rasual Butler (personal) is inactive for Saturday's game vs. the Spurs.

He's averaging 9.0 minutes per game this season, so his absence won't impact San Antonio's rotation. Butler is not a fantasy asset.

Rasual Butler called the Spurs the "gold standard of the NBA."

"To have the opportunity to be part of this culture; to play for Coach Popovich just the way that we play the game is a huge deal for me. It’s very exciting to be a part of this," he said. Butler has fought and clawed to remain in the league, and it's a credit to his hard work and perseverance that he won a spot on the Spurs' regular season team after being left for dead as a training camp invite.

Rasual Butler will make the Spurs' 15-man roster for the regular season.

Butler was a steady veteran presence off the Wizards' bench last season with averages of 7.7 points, 2.6 boards and 1.2 3-pointers per game in 75 appearances, so it's not a surprise that he made the team over players such as Jimmer Fredette and Reggie Williams. He will have a limited role in San Antonio while the team is at full strength, so fantasy owners don't have to pay him any attention.

Rasual Butler went scoreless in 14 minutes vs. the Hawks, missing all six of his field goal attempts.

The veteran swingman is auditioning for a spot on the Spurs' roster, and he may be directly competing with Jimmer Fredette (four points in 15 minutes). Butler's biggest selling point is his shooting, so tonight's dud doesn't bode well.

Rasual Butler called it a "no-brainer" to join the Spurs for training camp.

Despite San Antonio having 14 players projected to be on the opening night roster already, Butler didn't hesitate in signing with the Spurs. "You know they’re going to be fighting for something special every year. It’s not often you have the opportunity to be a part of something like that."

Rasual Butler said he's not worried about training camp cuts and will let his play do his talking for him.

Butler is likely fighting for the Spurs final roster spot with Jimmer Fredette, but the 36-year-old said he's going to worry about that scenario. "Only thing I can control is how hard I can work, how smart that I do things and go out there and give good effort everyday," Butler said. The veteran faces is a long shot to survive the Spurs final cuts and can be left undrafted in all fantasy leagues.

The Spurs have signed Rasual Butler for training camp.

Butler was reported to be drawing interest from San Antonio in late August, but he'll face an uphill battle to claim a roster spot on a loaded Spurs roster.

The Pelicans are reportedly interested in unrestricted free agent Rasual Butler.

Butler worked out for the Pelicans on Wednesday, and with the team rather thin at the shooting guard position, it's possible Butler can earn himself a roster spot in New Orleans. While he would add some depth to the Pelicans' backcourt, he wouldn't have a large enough role to warrant the attention of owners in standard leagues.

The Spurs have interest in free agent Rasual Butler.

The Spurs aren't quite as deep on the outside with Marco Belinelli in Sacramento and Cory Joseph in Toronto. Butler likely wouldn't be in the rotation anyway while Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green soak up most of the minutes on the wing.

The Blazers are no longer interested in Rasual Butler, a source told the Oregonian.

After the Blazers were reported to have interest in the veteran, that notion was shot down almost immediately. It was fun while it lasted.

The Blazers have shown an interest in veteran small forward Rasual Butler.

Butler may want to play for a contender at this point in his career, and the Warriors and Spurs are both rumored to be interested in him as well. Butler shot 38.7 percent from deep last season, and he also averaged 7.7 points in 20.1 minutes per game. The Blazers could use another small forward after trading Nicolas Batum to Charlotte, but Al-Farouq Aminu should be locked into a starting role in Portland.
