Chris Kaman played 22 minutes off the bench against the Pelicans on Saturday with 16 points, six rebounds and one steal.
According to the Blazers broadcast, Kaman's wife is expecting their first child, but they've actually past her due date. If she is still pregnant on Christmas, they will induce labor. In actual basketball news, Kaman should see minutes in the mid-20s, which will give him low-end value in standard leagues. Dec 20 - 9:30 PM

Chris Kaman scored just six points with five boards, one assist and one steal in 18 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Spurs.

The Spurs had no problem containing Kaman and he has yet to make good on any of the opportunity presented by Robin Lopez's long-term hand injury. There's a long way to go with that, however, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the double-doubles come down the road.
Dec 20 - 1:50 AM

Chris Kaman played 18 minutes against the Bucks on Wednesday, making 3-of-12 from the field for six points and three boards.

The Blazers are not going to completely unleash him because of his age and injury history, so owners shouldn't consider him as a game-changing pickup. Kaman should have some low-end value and be better than this, though. Give him a look if you need a big man.
Dec 18 - 2:44 AM

Chris Kaman has arrived to play against the Bucks on Wednesday.

His wife is expecting, but apparently it's not going to happen tonight. Kaman is likely going to come off the bench tonight, but should still have nice fantasy value with minutes in the mid-20s.
Dec 17 - 8:27 PM

Chris Kaman's wife is due to have the couple's first child within the next few days.

While this is fantastic news for the Kamans, the Blazers might be extremely short-handed if Kaman misses a game any time to be with his family. With the Blazers playing the Bucks and Spurs on Wednesday and Friday and Robin Lopez (hand) out indefinitely, Meyers Leonard and Joel Freeland could be in line for all the minutes they can handle if Kaman is unavailable for any upcoming games.Thomas Robinson is also worth keeping a close eye on, as he got nice minutes down the stretch on Monday night after Ro-Lo went down.

Chris Kaman scored 11 points with three rebounds in 20 minutes on Monday, and could be looking at a big opportunity with Robin Lopez out for "a while."

Lopez broke his hand in two places and it's unclear how long "a while" is but it's plenty of time to do some damage if you're Kaman. He'll probably remain with the second unit but see his minutes spike up into the 24-28 range, making him a must-add pickup with a mid-round upside and late-round likelihood.
Dec 16 - 2:36 AM

Chris Kaman scored just two points on 1-of-4 shooting with two rebounds, two assists and one block in 19 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Kaman had been a desperation play in 12-team formats and after a really bad stretch over the last two weeks he slides down to the same status in 14-team leagues.
Dec 12 - 10:05 PM

Chris Kaman tied a season-high with 16 points and set a season-best with 11 rebounds in Friday's loss.

Kaman chipped in with two blocks and he's a viable plug-in at center in 12-team formats. Just know his limited role can increase volatility and he has no upside.
Nov 29 - 3:58 AM

Chris Kaman wasn't shy offensively on Sunday, making 6-of-13 FGs and 4-of-4 FTs to finish with 16 points, eight rebounds and one steal in just 18 minutes off the bench.

Kaman is the go-to option for Portland's second unit, which suits him perfectly. He abused Tyler Zeller's defense tonight and has now scored double-digit points in seven straight games, but he's barely clinging to value in 12-team roto leagues.
Nov 23 - 8:28 PM

Chris Kaman double-doubled off the bench on Monday, scoring 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting with 10 rebounds and one steal in 21 minutes.

Kaman isn't afraid to pull the trigger and he's returning late-round value in just 19.5 minutes per game. It's not the type of situation you want to rely on, but if you're in a pinch he gives you a puncher's chance.
Nov 18 - 1:47 AM

Chris Kaman is set to start on Saturday in place of LaMarcus Aldridge (illness).

This will likely be for just one game, as LMA should be better soon. Kaman could see around 25 minutes Saturday, making him a viable candidate for owners in daily leagues.
Nov 15 - 9:21 PM

Coach Terry Stotts expressed some concern of Chris Kaman playing too much.

He matched his season high with 22 minutes on Wednesday and has held steady right around 19 minutes per night on the season. Kaman is a candidate to start on Saturday with LaMarcus Aldridge (illness) likely out, but it would be hard to imagine him playing more than 25 minutes.
Nov 14 - 4:36 PM

Chris Kaman came off the bench to hit 6-of-8 shots and 4-of-5 free throws for 16 points, seven rebounds, a steal and two more blocks on Wednesday.

Kaman is now averaging 12.0 points, 7.0 boards and 2.0 blocks over his last five games and is probably a better option than someone you have on your bench in 12-team leagues.
Nov 13 - 12:50 AM

Chris Kaman was terrific in 18 minutes off Portland's bench on Tuesday, scoring 12 points with eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

Kaman's efforts trimmed the Hornets lead and brought the Blazers within single-digits, and they went on to win by the score of 102-100. He's settled into a terrific groove this season, in no small part because he's a featured option offensively, but fantasy owners can't reliably start him since he's played under 20 minutes in each of Portland's past five games.
Nov 12 - 1:09 AM

Chris Kaman played 19 solid minutes off the bench on Sunday, scoring 12 points with eight rebounds and a season-high five blocks.

Kaman's swats matched his total for the Blazers' previous six games and shouldn't be taken as a sign of things to come, but it's nice to be reminded that he has it in him. His fantasy value is restricted to deep leagues as long as Robin Lopez (12 points, nine rebounds, three blocks) is starting and stifling Kaman's playing time.
