Chris Kaman made his second start of the season on Monday with two points and four rebounds.
It's hard to believe he's getting so many minutes at power forward. Kaman did not play at all on Sunday and played 24 minutes on Friday in his first start of the year. He can't be trusted in almost any league. Nov 17 - 12:21 AM

Chris Kaman will start on Monday vs. the Spurs with Noah Vonleh shifting back to the bench.

Kaman also drew a start on Friday vs. Memphis and logged 24 minutes, but he was a DNP-CD on Sunday. In case it isn't obvious, Kaman is not a fantasy asset.
Nov 16 - 8:32 PM

Chris Kaman went from starting Friday's game to being a healthy DNP-CD on Sunday.

Chris Kaman went from starting Friday's game to getting a healthy DNP-CD on Sunday. Meyers Leonard's shoulder injury has opened up frontcourt minutes in Portland, but Kaman isn't going to be the one getting them. Leave him on the waiver wire.
Nov 15 - 7:51 PM

Chris Kaman will return to the bench for Sunday's game vs. the Hornets.

Kaman didn't do much as a starter during Portland's last game in Memphis, putting up just eight points, four boards, three assists and three turnovers through 24 minutes of action, and those numbers could head south with the demotion to the second-unit. He's not worth owning in most leagues.
Nov 15 - 4:28 PM

Chris Kaman played 24 minutes in a start against the Grizzlies on Friday, scoring eight points with four rebounds, three assists and three turnovers.

This start is probably because it's against the Grizzlies, right? Still, coach Terry Stotts pulled a fast one on us all once again. When players get hurt and there is any uncertainty, it's almost a fool's errand to try to figure out who steps up on a nightly basis. Kaman would only be worth a look in extremely deep leagues.
Nov 14 - 2:18 AM

Chris Kaman will be in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Grizzlies with Meyers Leonard (shoulder) out.

Kaman has played just 3.5 minutes for the Blazers this season, but they'll need his size going up against Memphis' imposing frontcourt, and it'll be interesting to see just how long he can stick in the starting five. This isn't great news for Ed Davis, but we'll let you know how the rotations shake out after the game.
Nov 13 - 7:58 PM

Chris Kaman admitted that his role for the upcoming season is unclear.

Kaman said that he is willing to accept any role that he is given, but the 33-year-old veteran will likely see limited playing time on the rebuilding Blazers. With Meyers Leonard, Ed Davis, Noah Vonleh and Mason Plumlee all battling for minutes in the frontcourt, Kaman could be the odd man out. He isn't worth drafting in most leagues.
Sep 30 - 9:23 AM

Chris Kaman will star in a reality TV show 'Exploring Kaman' premiering on Aug. 5 on AXS TV, Mark Cuban's network.

It'll be a six-week show for the eccentric big man. Yes, this is another one of the "it's the offseason" blurbs, but Kaman has been entertaining off the court for years. He won't be worth drafting in most leagues.

Jul 29 - 6:38 PM

The Blazers opted not to waive Chris Kaman prior to Tuesday's deadline, which guarantees his $5 million salary for the 2015-16 season.

Kaman said in April that he hoped to return to Portland, saying that he'll help mentor Meyers Leonard despite being on the "downslope" of his career. Regardless of the Blazers' moves in free agency, Kaman won't get enough playing time to be a factor in fantasy leagues.
Jun 30 - 6:53 PM

The Portland Trail Blazers are likely to exercise their team option on Chris Kaman for the 2015-16 regular season.

The Blazers are likely to wait until Tuesday's 2 PM deadline to exercise the option so that they can maintain flexibility to make a trade, but all indications are that they will pick up Kaman's $5 million player option. Kaman averaged 8.6 points and 6.5 rebounds in 74 games with the Blazers in 2014-15 so while he's not a standard league fantasy option, he can still make a dent in deeper leagues.
Jun 30 - 11:57 AM

The Blazers have until the end of June to decide whether or not to pick up their team option on Chris Kaman's contract, and while he wants to return to Portland, he isn't concerned about his situation.

"Basically I’ll know June 30th," Kaman said. "Either they take it or they don’t. … Obviously there is a lot that is going to happen this summer in free agency with this team and all of our players." Kaman posted respectable averages of 8.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocks during the regular season, but the Blazers could be forced to shake things up based on what LaMarcus Aldridge decides to do in free agency. Regardless of what happens, Kaman is better suited for a limited role off the bench at this point in his career, so he won't be on the fantasy radar leading into next season.
May 9 - 9:14 AM

Chris Kaman said during his exit interview that while he's unsure whether or not the Trail Blazers will pick up his option for next season, he would be happy to return to Portland.

Kaman finally had a relatively healthy season this year, making it through 74 games with averages of 8.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game on 51.5 percent shooting from the field. He's a quality role player, and he fits well in Portland's system, but at this point in his career he's well off the radar in standard fantasy leagues. It'll be interesting to see if Portland elects to pick up his option worth $5 million for the 2015-16 season, but if they don't, that could translate to more minutes for Meyers Leonard.
Apr 30 - 5:35 PM

Chris Kaman (ankle) is being listed as probable for Game 4 against the Grizzlies on Monday.

Kaman will likely see his minutes in the teens, but he's not going to do enough on the stat sheet to matter in fantasy leagues. Kaman's minutes will come at the expense of Meyers Leonard.
Apr 26 - 5:39 PM

Chris Kaman (ankle) returned from a one-game absence and saw 17 minutes of action in Game 3 against the Grizzlies on Saturday.

Kaman finished with two points, six boards and one assist, but he was clearly hobbling and he probably shouldn't have played tonight. The veteran probably won't be close to 100 percent for the rest of the series, but we will continue to keep a close eye on his status in advance of Game 4 on Monday. For what it's worth, Kaman's ankle was noticeably swollen after the game, so it's admirable that he tried to play through the pain for his teammates.
Apr 26 - 2:08 AM

Chris Kaman (ankle) will play in Game 3 vs. the Grizzlies on Saturday.

He was held out of Game 2 and didn't practice on Friday, but he made it clear that he would be available tonight. Kaman isn't 100 percent, but he should see minutes in the teens which means that Joel Freeland may not be in the rotation. Meyers Leonard may also see less minutes.
