Veteran forward Jarvis Hayes could play for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel next season.
Hayes played for New Jersey last year, where he averaged 7.8 points and 2.4 rebounds. He would likely get more money and a bigger role overseas, whereas teams like the Celtics would only want him as insurance off the bench. Tue, Sep 14, 2010 09:58:00 AM

The Celtics have had "some conversations" about free agent small forward Jarvis Hayes.

Hayes is a tested backup SF whose offensive abilities would be welcome off the Celtics bench, but no matter where he lands his minutes will be too scarce to provide fantasy value. The Cs have also expressed interest in Rasual Butler, Larry Hughes and Antoine Wright.

Nets forward Jarvis Hayes sat out Saturday's game with a sprained ankle.

Hayes hurt himself on Friday and has no incentive to risk further damage. Terrence Williams is putting on a show in his absence, which could make it less likely that Hayes will return this year.

Jarvis Hayes doesn't believe that his sprained ankle is serious, but he's doubtful for Saturday's game.

Hayes didn't return after the first quarter on Friday, setting the stage for Terrence Williams' first career triple-double. Consider him day-to-day.

Jarvis Hayes left during the first quarter of Friday's game due to a sprained ankle and will not return.

He finished with two points and a steal with nothing else, which wouldn't be too far off from his normal production had he stayed in the game. Needless to say he's not a fantasy option.

Jarvis Hayes started in place of Terrence Williams (foot) on Wednesday but had just five points and three rebounds in 34 minutes.

It's very possible that Hayes is the worst player in the NBA that started a game tonight.

Nets forward Jarvis Hayes scored 18 points off the bench on Saturday, going 6-of-12 from the field with three 3-pointers.

Hayes added just two rebounds and one assist, which about sums up his fantasy appeal. He's a potent offensive player (double-digit points with at least one 3-pointer in five of the past six games) but has limited versatility.

Jarvis Hayes (calf) returned to action against the Wizards on Sunday, playing 13 minutes with no points, two rebounds, an assist, and a block.

Even when he is starting he doesn't provide adequate fantasy value, and there's no guarantee that after this most recent injury that he will get his starting job back. Leave him on the waiver wire.

Jarvis Hayes (calf) will not play against the Blazers on Tuesday.

Hayes had started the last 10 games for the Nets and averaged 9.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 treys a game during that span. He doesn't do anything on the court particularly well.

Nets forward Jarvis Hayes said his left calf injury isn't serious and he expects to play Tuesday.

Fantasy owners probably weren't relying on Hayes anyway, given his muted production despite starting.

Jarvis Hayes strained his left calf during the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Grizzlies and did not return.

Depending on the severity of this injury, it's not going to take much for the Nets to let younger guys like Terrence Williams and Kris Humphries get more minutes, especially if Yi Jianlian continues to struggle with his back. Keep an eye on them if Hayes misses any time.

Jarvis Hayes started Tuesday's game despite a badly bruised shin, scoring 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including three 3-pointers.

Hayes was shuffled into the starting lineup in what amounts to a desperation move, and despite this nice game the veteran forward has limited fantasy appeal. He's worth a look if you need a modest amount of points, 3s, and rebounds.

Jarvis Hayes (shin) is expected to play against the Cavs on Tuesday.

Hayes has predictably not had a significant impact since being promoted to the starting lineup four games ago. He's playing 31 minutes a game, but is averaging just 10.3 points and 4.5 boards. Hayes is only on the radar in deep leagues.

Jarvis Hayes said Monday that he plans on playing through a shin injury.

He doesn't have much fantasy value, but it doesn't sound like Saturday's injury will cause him to miss time.
Mon, Feb 8, 2010 03:25:00 PM

Nets forward Jarvis Hayes badly bruised his shin on Saturday but did not break any bones.

A deep bruise can still sideline players, so think twice before deploying Hayes (already a shaky fantasy option) in the shortened upcoming All-Star week. Hopefully we'll get an official timetable on Sunday.
