Luke Ridnour (ankle) played through his ankle issue on Saturday against Portland, finishing with five points, four assists, one rebound and one 3-pointer in 16 minutes.
He was a game-time decision for this game, so it was good to see him able to play through the pain. However, it is obvious that the Magic are going to do everything they can to develop rookie Elfrid Payton so Ridnour likely won't have a big role in the rotation for the foreseeable future. You can safely leave him on the wire. Jan 11 - 10:09 AM

Date:

Luke Ridnour (ankle) is now considered a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Portland.

Whether he plays or not, Ridnour isn't an option in almost any league and his absence would simply mean more minutes for rookie Elfrid Payton. Stay tuned.

Luke Ridnour (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's game against Portland.

Ridnour has been off the fantasy radar since the Magic handed his job to Elfrid Payton so this news shouldn't matter in most leagues. If Ridnour sits his minutes will be soaked up by Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo.

Luke Ridnour played on Tuesday for the first time in over a week, but went scoreless with two boards and two assists in 12 minutes.

The Magic have handed the reins of their offense to Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo, leaving veterans Ridnour, Ben Gordon (10 minutes) and Willie Green (six minutes) to languish on the bench.

Luke Ridnour (personal) returned to action on Monday, scoring five points on 2-of-4 shooting with three rebounds, six assists and one steal in 19 minutes.

Ridnour is going to do more to steal away from Elfrid Payton (six minutes) than take from Evan Fournier (31 minutes) or Victor Oladipo (32 minutes). He has no real fantasy value without an injury ahead of him.

Luke Ridnour has rejoined the Magic and is expected to play on Monday.

Ridnour was away due to a personal matter, and although he's back with the club now, he'll remain irrelevant to fantasy owners at this time.

Luke Ridnour (personal) won't play for the Magic on Saturday as he tends to a family matter.

He has provided the Magic with some solid play off of the bench this season, but his absence will likely mean that rookie Elfrid Payton will get all the minutes he can handle Saturday. Victor Oladipo (face) may also handle some of the ball-handling responsibilities if he suits up as expected. Consider Ridnour day-to-day for now.

Luke Ridnour played a season-high 29 minutes vs. the Raptors on Tuesday, finishing Orlando's road loss with six points, three rebounds, six assists and one steal off the bench.

Jacque Vaughn showed a lot of trust in Ridnour during this closely-contested game, and the result was just 19 minutes for starting PG Elfrid Payton. Ridnour's contributions don't give him any appeal in standard fantasy leagues, however, as he came in averaging just 5.6 points, 0.4 threes, 2.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Luke Ridnour's recent quad injury didn't seem to limit him on Tuesday, as he came off the bench for two points, two rebounds and one assist in 17 minutes.

The veteran guard was mistakenly reported as Orlando's starting PG an hour before the game, but there's no doubt that rookie Elfrid Payton is 'the guy' at PG. A limited role off the bench isn't enough to give Ridnour cachet in typical fantasy formats.

Luke Ridnour (quad) is set to play on Tuesday off of the bench.

There was errant report earlier saying that Ridnour was in the starting lineup, but it is not true. Elfrid Payton will draw the start tonight, meaning Ridnour is only on the fantasy radar in really deep leagues.

Luke Ridnour (quad) practiced on Sunday and is ready to play in Tuesday's opener.

Ridnour bruised his quad but it was never a serious concern. He'll be available on Tuesday against the Pelicans.

Luke Ridnour (quad) is expected to practice on Sunday.

Ridnour bruised his right quad during a preseason game against the Mavericks, but his injury is not considered serious. He will likely be joined by Ben Gordon (dental work) and Dewayne Dedmon (foot), but none of these guys make for very appealing fantasy options.

Magic G Luke Ridnour was diagnosed with a bruised right quad after colliding with Chandler Parsons during Friday's exhibition.

The contusion could jeopardize his status for Orlando's season-opener, but it's a relief that he didn't do more serious damage. Ridnour's role as a low-minute backup and locker-room leader is not conducive to fantasy success.

Luke Ridnour appeared to injure his right knee mid-way through the third quarter of Friday's game.

He came up favoring his right leg after banging knees with Chandler Parsons, and walked gingerly into the locker room. We'll pass along updates as they become available. If Ridnour is forced to miss any time, guys like Willie Green, Evan Fournier and Ben Gordon would pick up a few extra minutes in the backcourt.

Luke Ridnour (rest) will not play on Saturday.

It should be the Elfrid Payton Show against a horrible defense, so hopefully he doesn't blow up too much to boost his ADP. Ridnour is fine.
