Wizards waive Brian Cook.

Cook was brought into training camp on a make-good contract, but there was too much competition for the veteran forward. He may have a hard time finding a deal in the NBA, since the Wizards were the only team interested in him this summer.

The Wizards and Brian Cook have agreed to a non-guaranteed deal, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post.

Cook is the 18th player on the roster and the Wizards are as deep as they've been in quite some time. While he has some nice range for a 6'9" forward, Cook will turn 32 this year and is off the fantasy radar. It's just a training camp invite for the veteran.

Brian Cook has received a training camp invite from the Wizards, two sources tell the Washington Post.

Cook has received no interest on the open market, and the Wizards "hope to hear back from Cook by next week." He will have no fantasy value.

Brian Cook is not looking to be bought out of his contract.

Agent Mark Bartelstein said Cook has no plans to pursue a buyout by Friday's deadline and said Cook likes being on the Wizards. There was some chatter that Cook would be bought out, but he'll likely stick with the Wizards for the remainder of the season.

Brian Cook made his Wizards debut on Sunday, scoring three points and committing three personal fouls in eight minutes.

Cook made 1-of-4 shots with all of his attempts coming from downtown, and he's not a fantasy asset unless you need 3-pointers in a very deep league. The Wizards were expected to buy out his contract, but it's possible they've changed course.

The Wizards could soon buy out Brian Cook's contract, according to his agent.

Washington is turning over their roster with an eye toward the future, and Cook doesn't fit into their long-term plans, so it makes sense for both sides.

The Wizards acquired Brian Cook as part of a three-team trade Thursday.

Cook has appeared in just 16 games all year, mostly seeing garbage time. The 6'9/250 shooter will be a deep reserve in Washington as well.

Brian Cook was active for Friday's game but did not play.

Cook was out with an ankle injury which has now healed. He's simply not part of the rotation at the moment.

Brian Cook (ankle) did not play on Friday against the Wolves and we're calling him day-to-day.

There's no need for daily updates on Cook, as his impact on the rotation is minimal.

Brian Cook (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Jazz.

Cook tweaked his ankle against the Lakers on Saturday. He was averaging 2.2 points in 10.1 minutes per game on the season.

Clippers forward Brian Cook will soon have a precautionary MRI on his ankle after an X-ray revealed bone spurs.

Beat writer Eric Pincus notes that the bone spurs may have been in Cook's ankle for a while. He only had the X-ray in the first place because he tweaked his ankle during Saturday's game and it's possible the bone spurs can just be left alone.

Brian Cook played 16 minutes and had eight points, six rebounds and two 3-pointers on Sunday.

DeAndre Jordan was being fouled right and left, and missing free throws, so Cook got some nice run tonight. Keep an eye on him if you're in a league with more than 12 teams.

Brian Cook exercised the player option in his contract to remain with the Clippers next season.

"With the Clippers organization on the rise and a phenom like Blake Griffin and leader like Mo Williams, I felt very comfortable coming to help this organization get to the playoffs," Cook said.

Brian Cook picked up the slack for foul-plagued DeAndre Jordan on Sunday, notching 17 points and six rebounds in 25 minutes off the Clippers' bench.

Cook drained 6-of-11 shots, including three 3-pointers, but there's no reason to get excited. He hadn't played in the past two games, and hadn't scored double-digit points since mid-December.
