Date:

Luke Walton (ankle) will not play again on Friday against New York.

Walton isn't a fantasy option, so his absence shouldn't impact any league.
Apr 12 - 11:24 AM

Luke Walton (right ankle sprain) won't travel with the Cavaliers for Tuesday's game vs. the Pacers.

Walton's absence is a blow for the Cavaliers' thin bench, but it doesn't have any fantasy repercussions.
Apr 8 - 2:14 PM

Luke Walton (right ankle sprain) sat out Sunday's game vs. Orlando, but X-rays taken were negative and he's day-to-day.

The Cavaliers won despite not having Walton, Daniel Gibson (elbow), Dion Waiters (knee) and of course Anderson Varejao (knee surgery). Injuries notwithstanding, head coach Byron Scott is on the hot seat after the Cavs' late-season swoon, and Kyrie Irving seemed lukewarm when asked this weekend about the Cavs' firing Scott: "Until that time comes, I'm not really worried about it ... To even imagine that, I'm not going down that road."

Apr 7 - 9:45 PM

Luke Walton (ankle) will not return to Friday's game against the Celtics after spraining his ankle in the first quarter.

He's scoring just 3.5 points per game for the Cavs this season and has rarely been called upon while the Cavs are healthy, playing just 17.4 minutes per game. He has no fantasy value while Tristan Thompson is having a field day against Boston in Friday's game.
Apr 5 - 9:01 PM

Luke Walton left Friday's game due to an ankle injury and his return is questionable.

Walton has surprised every now and again with decent low-end numbers, but never put together anything consistent. Any injury issue here will have practically no impact on fantasy leagues.
Apr 5 - 8:25 PM

Luke Walton is adjusting to playing with a clear mask that protects his broken nose.

Walton said the first time he played with the mask he couldn't see. "I'm good [looking] straight but as soon as I try to go to the side it gets blurry," Walton said. The former Laker will likely have to deal with the mask for most of the rest of the season. He has no fantasy value.
Mar 23 - 11:19 AM

Luke Walton will play on Monday despite fracturing his nose vs. the Spurs on Saturday.

This shouldn't impact Walton's role off the bench, where his ball-movement and basketball IQ make him invaluable for Cleveland but useless in average fantasy leagues. He'll wear a mask for four weeks.
Mar 18 - 5:18 PM

Luke Walton scored nine points on 3-of-6 shooting (including three treys) with three rebounds, five assists and two steals in 19 minutes off the bench on Friday.

Walton's game lends itself to some versatile lines, but he's way too inconsistent for use in most formats.
Mar 16 - 12:05 AM

Luke Walton said that his back has been feeling "much better" this season.

Walton has battled back pain for the "previous four or five years," but now he's feeling better and isn't currently thinking about retiring. Byron Scott called Walton "the best passing forward in the league," which is an interesting comment.
Mar 14 - 9:28 AM

Luke Walton handed out a career-high 12 assists in Monday's loss to the Knicks, adding two points and one steal in 29 minutes.

He picked up some extra playing time with Dion Waiters (illness) not playing. Obviously, there's no reason to give Walton a look in even the deepest of leagues. C.J. Miles was a mild disappointment with 11 points, two boards, one assist, two steals and two 3-pointers in 22 minutes.
Mar 4 - 10:39 PM

Luke Walton returned from a personal absence and had six points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals on 3-of-5 shooting in 19 minutes on Wednesday.

This game was a blowout and we're going to attribute Walton's line to garbage time. Ignore him.
Feb 7 - 12:54 AM

Luke Walton (personal) is active for Wednesday's game against the Bobcats.

Walton has absolutely no fantasy value and his only role is as a depth option for the Cavs.
Feb 6 - 6:48 PM

Luke Walton (personal) is expected to be available on Wednesday.

Walton isn't someone who should be rostered in any format, but he should be available if the Cavs need him.

Feb 6 - 9:31 AM

Luke Walton (personal) missed a fourth consecutive game on Saturday.

It's unclear when Walton will rejoin the team. In his absence, a few more minutes are available for marginal players like Kevin Jones and C.J. Miles.
