The Knicks have held preliminary discussions with veteran guard Willie Green.
Green would be a solid presence on the Knicks' bench, but he wouldn't have a significant role in New York. The Knicks have had multiple discussions with Green since free agency began, so a deal could be reached very soon. Jul 1 - 10:48 AM

Orlando guard Willie Green wants to play a couple more seasons before retiring and says he's open to coming back to the Magic.

He's a locker room guy at this point in his career and the veteran might be better served on a contender. Then again, that's exactly what the Magic could be next season if guys like Victor Oladipo, Nik Vucevic and Elfrid Payton continue to develop. And if the real Tobias Harris shows up.
Apr 16 - 11:46 AM

Willie Green will be available to play Friday vs. the Raptors.

Green has no business being owned in standard leagues, but if you're in an extremely deep league, and absolutely desperate for 3-pointers you can justify owning him. Although with Evan Fournier back in the rotation, there are no guarantees Green even leaves the bench.
Apr 10 - 5:21 PM

Willie Green (back) did not practice on Thursday, and his status is uncertain for Friday's game against the Raptors.

Green was spotted in a practice uniform before Friday morning's shootaround, so it would seem he has a decent shot of suiting up for Friday's game. However, he's averaging a meager 8.0 points and 1.2 three-pointers per game on 41.5 percent shooting from the field since the break, so he can only be viewed as a 3-point specialist in extremely deep leagues.
Apr 10 - 10:25 AM

Willie Green recently said that he wants to keep playing another three or four years, and he wants to remain with the Magic after the season.

Green, who turns 34 in July, is not thinking of retirement. "I definitely want to keep playing," Green said. "I feel like I still have a good maybe three or four years — who knows? — or even more." He added, "Obviously, I would have to talk it over with my representatives and Rob [Hennigan] and Scott Perry. But I like what I see."
Apr 6 - 9:29 AM

Willie Green (back) returned to action on Sunday with 11 points, three 3-pointers and three assists off the Magic bench.

He played 29 minutes, consistent with his role prior to his back injury. The veteran guard has virtually no fantasy appeal while Luke Ridnour and Ben Gordon are also competing for backup minutes behind Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo.
Mar 22 - 8:53 PM

Willie Green (back) will return to action vs. Denver on Sunday.

Interim coach James Borrego has given Green steady playing time when healthy, but it hasn't translated to fantasy value outside of the deepest leagues.
Mar 22 - 4:46 PM

Willie Green is expected to return from his back injury on Sunday.

He'll give Orlando some backcourt depth and should earn solid minutes, especially with Evan Fournier (hip) still on the sidelines. Nevertheless, the veteran Green isn't worth fantasy owners' attention while Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo are healthy.
Mar 22 - 4:20 PM

Willie Green (back) will be a game-time decision vs. the Nuggets on Sunday.

Green has had some tough luck with injuries lately and has been on the shelf since Mar.10, so we wouldn't expect him to play a lot of minutes. However, the Magic will be glad to have the veteran guard back on their bench soon due to the news that Evan Fournier (hip) could be out another 10 days. Green belongs on the wire outside of deeper leagues.
Mar 22 - 10:12 AM

Willie Green (back) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Trail Blazers.

Green has been sidelined since March 10, and remains without a clear timetable to return. At this point in the fantasy season, Green should not be owned in any league.
Mar 20 - 5:29 PM

Willie Green (back) will likely be a game-time decision for Friday's game vs. Portland.

If Green is unable to go, Ben Gordon will have the opportunity to play limited minutes off the bench, but he can't be viewed as a viable option in standard leagues.
Mar 20 - 10:27 AM

Willie Green (back) will not play against the Mavs on Wednesday.

He has been out for eight days with his back injury. With Green out, Ben Gordon has moved into the rotation and played well on Tuesday with 13 points. He's only an option in deep leagues.
Mar 18 - 6:41 PM

Willie Green (back) will not suit up for Tuesday's game vs. the Rockets.

He's been sidelined since March 10, and remains without an official timetable to return. Luke Ridnour and Moe Harkless will play extended minutes with Green out, but they can't be viewed as viable options in standard leagues.
Mar 17 - 6:43 PM

Willie Green (back) will remain sidelined for Sunday's game vs. the Cavs.

With Green sidelined, Moe Harkless and Luke Ridnour will have the opportunity to play extended minutes, although neither guy can be considered a viable option in almost any league.
Mar 15 - 4:24 PM

Willie Green (back) will not play Friday vs. the Celtics, as expected.

Green was doubtful heading into this one, so this news shouldn't have come as a surprise. With Evan Fournier (hip), Devyn Marble (eye), and Green all sitting on the sidelines tonight, Victor Oladipo will get all the run he can handle, with Ben Gordon playing limited minutes off the bench.
