Matt Bonner was sprung into action on Sunday and hit four 3-pointers in 17 minutes, scoring 12 points with two boards and one assist.
Bonner played just 9.7 minutes per game in the series vs. the Warriors, but Gregg Popovich wisely utilized him more in an effort to mess with Memphis' rhythm on both ends. Pop playing the matchups is old hat these days and fantasy owners can tell you all about how he rarely treats his opponents the same. May 19 - 6:26 PM

Matt Bonner expects to play vs. Memphis in the Western Conference Finals, vowing to "spread the floor when [he's] open."

Bonner averaged 26 minutes per game vs. the Lakers in the first round, but he nearly fell out of the rotation vs. the Warriors. As for matching up with the Grizzlies' rugged frontcourt, Bonner said that "it's more about matching their physicality and being in the right position so you can rely on your teammates to help you."
May 19 - 11:40 AM

Matt Bonner, DeJuan Blair and Aron Baynes are all expected to see more minutes with Tiago Splitter (ankle) unavailable.

Bonner's ability to space the floor has proven to be a weapon for the Spurs, but it's unlikely that any of the three guys listed here are going to become serious fantasy assets. Splitter is only expected to miss 7-10 days, so the window of opportunity is not large here.

Matt Bonner blocked a career-high four shots in Saturday's win over the Hawks, though he didn't score in 15 minutes of action.

Bonner joked that he should have had even more blocks. "I think they gave one of mine to Tim [Duncan]," he said. "Just another day in the life of the Red Mamba."
Apr 7 - 12:56 PM

Matt Bonner started in place of Tim Duncan on Tuesday and hit 1-of-4 shots for two points and six rebounds in 19 minutes.

Duncan got a maintenance day off and Bonner has not fantasy value, starting or not.
Mar 12 - 11:40 PM

Matt Bonner and Stephen Jackson will start for Tim Duncan (rest) and Kawhi Leonard (knee/rest) on Tuesday against the Wolves.

If you're in a deeper league and you want to gamble on either guy feel free, just realize that it's a game of roulette even when guys are missing from the lineup.
Mar 12 - 6:41 PM

Matt Bonner (knee) played 14 minutes off the bench on Saturday, scoring four points and grabbing two rebounds.

The Red Rocket gives Gregg Popovich another dangerous weapon for his arsenal, but fantasy owners shouldn't bother to guess when he'll be deployed since his role hinges on matchups and Pop's whims.
Feb 3 - 12:20 AM

Matt Bonner (knee) is expected to play on Saturday.

The Red Rocket missed Wednesday's game with a sore right knee, but he should be ready to fire the 3-ball when called upon Saturday.
Feb 2 - 11:52 AM

Matt Bonner (knee) returned to practice on Thursday.

Bonner missed Wednesday's game with right knee soreness, but he's already back on the practice floor on Thursday.
Jan 31 - 1:19 PM

Matt Bonner will not play against the Bobcats on Wednesday due to a sore right knee.

The Spurs could have used him with Tim Duncan and DeJuan Blair already ruled out. Tiago Splitter is going to be a very busy man in the paint and Boris Diaw gets to take on his former team with a nice outlook.
Jan 30 - 7:44 PM

The Spurs got a nice lift from Matt Bonner on Saturday, as the veteran big man scored a season-high 17 points in 23 minutes off the bench.

Bonner made 7-of-8 FGs, including three 3-pointers, but Tim Duncan's precautionary absence was the catalyst for his big game and we don't expect a repeat performance. Suffice to say, he hadn't scored a single point in the Spurs' previous six games, which included two DNP-CDs.
Jan 19 - 9:45 PM

Matt Bonner logged his first double-double on the season with 10 points and 10 boards, while adding two 3-pointers in 30 minutes on Thursday.

Bonner never cracked the 20-minute mark entering tonight's game and he's unlikely to do it until Gregg Popovich rests his players again. DeJuan Blair played just 18 minutes and had six points and three rebounds.

Matt Bonner played through a bruised quad on Saturday, scoring three points with one rebound and two blocks in 16 minutes.

Bonner struggled to defend Derrick Favors one-on-one, understandably, but as usual he played competent team defense while his 3-point shooting drew Utah's big men out of the paint. He's healthy heading into Game 4 on Monday.

Matt Bonner (quad) is expected to play in Saturday's Game 3 against the Jazz.

Bonner has a deep thigh bruise on his right side, but it's not severe. The Red Rocket should be fine for his usual 15-19 minutes off the bench.
Thu, May 3, 2012 06:38:00 PM

Matt Bonner did not play in the second half of Game 2 due to a quad injury.

Bonner took a knee to the quad from Derrick Favors and was seen in obvious pain when he went to the floor, but the severity of the injury is unknown. He should be considered day-to-day.
