Taylor Gabriel snagged all five of his targets for 110 yards while adding a nine-yard rush Sunday in the Bears’ Week 6 loss to the Dolphins.
Make that two 100-yard receiving games in a row for Gabriel, who went off for 104 yards against Tampa Bay prior to the Bears' bye week. Gabriel didn't find the end zone in this one but he still made his presence felt with a number of big plays, the first of those coming on a 47-yard deep bomb from Mitchell Trubisky during the second quarter. He bettered that with a 54-yarder in the third quarter, again dusting overmatched corner Torry McTyer for a huge gain. The speedy 27-year-old has quickly emerged as Trubisky's preferred deep threat. He'll look to keep it going against New England in Week 7. Oct 14 - 5:00 PM

Taylor Gabriel brought in all seven of his targets for a career-high 104 yards and two touchdowns in the Bears' Week 4 win over the Bucs.

It's the third consecutive game that Gabriel's seen at least seven targets. He even out-shined perennial No. 1 Allen Robinson (2-23-1) on Mitchell Trubisky's career six-score day. The Bears' offense has quietly developed and thus progressively improved in every outing so far this season, slowly raising Gabriel's stock with every passing game. He'll come out of Chicago's Week 5 bye as a strong FLEX option against the Dolphins.
Sep 30 - 9:02 PM

Taylor Gabriel caught 4-of-7 targets for 30 yards in the Bears' Week 2 win over the Seahawks.

The seven targets were easily second-most on the team but a distant second to Allen Robinson's 14. Gabriel has nine grabs for a meager 55 yards through two games. He's well off the fantasy map ahead of Week 3 at Arizona.
Sep 18 - 12:15 AM

Taylor Gabriel caught five passes for 25 yards in Week 1 against the Packers.

Gabriel played ahead of Anthony Miller in two-wide sets. He wasn't much of a factor after missing most of the preseason. Gabriel is the No. 3 option behind Allen Robinson and Trey Burton in an offense that struggles to support multiple receivers. He's not on the Week 2 fantasy radar.
Sep 10 - 12:35 AM

Bears WR Taylor Gabriel (foot) started with the second-team offense in Saturday's preseason's game versus the Chiefs.

Gabriel was initially expected to sit but started alongside Kevin White with Chase Daniel under center. It's his first preseason action since injuring his foot in the first week of August. Gabriel is currently slated to open the year on the outside across from Allen Robinson with rookie standout Anthony Miller manning the slot.
Aug 25 - 1:52 PM

Bears WR Taylor Gabriel (foot) is not expected to play in the preseason.

Gabriel has been dealing with a foot injury since the first week of August but coach Matt Nagy has insisted it's "nothing serious." Gabriel joins a list of 31 inactives in Chicago's preseason game Saturday, almost guaranteeing he registers no snaps with his new team prior to the regular season (unless he oddly suits up in the Bears' preseason finale). He'll open the year on the outside across from Allen Robinson with rookie standout Anthony Miller manning the slot.
Aug 25 - 12:35 PM

Speaking Tuesday, Bears coach Matt Nagy said Taylor Gabriel's foot injury is "nothing serious."

Gabriel appears to be day to day. It's a safe bet that he will sit out Thursday's preseason game against the Bengals.
Aug 7 - 4:03 PM

Taylor Gabriel sat out Sunday's practice with a foot injury.

It doesn't sound like a major hindrance, though a prolonged absence would obviously cost Gabriel's important practice reps as he attempts to learn Matt Nagy's new offense. The 27-year-old flashed as a gadget player during his two-year stint in Atlanta, though he's not a must-own fantasy player by any measure.
Aug 5 - 12:42 PM

Bears coach Matt Nagy said free-agent addition Taylor Gabriel has been "everything we thought."

"The biggest thing for him is he’s a speedy guy, and he knows how we’re going to use him and some of the things we want to do," Nagy added. "And he’s done a great job." Gabriel said he is excited to see what he can do with Nagy, citing how the coach used Tyreek Hill in Kansas City. It still seems unlikely Gabriel gets enough targets to be a consistent fantasy contributor, but he should have a big game or two this season.
Jul 24 - 9:14 AM

Bears coach Matt Nagy said he expects Taylor Gabriel to be more than a gadget player.

"He's able to do a lot of things we’ve done in the past, with jet motions and quick screens and some of the RPO stuff," Nagy said. "But what I'm happy with … is he has taken to the teaching that we’re giving him." While it might be tough for Gabriel to return consistent fantasy value in an offense with Allen Robinson, Trey Burton, Tarik Cohen, and second-round rookie Anthony Miller also competing for targets, Nagy's history with Tyreek Hill at least offers a reason for optimism.
Jun 4 - 10:53 AM

Bears agreed to terms with WR Taylor Gabriel, formerly of the Falcons, on a four-year, $26 million contract.

The deal includes $14 million guaranteed. Gabriel broke the news himself via friend and former NFL receiver Andrew Hawkins. A critical part of the Falcons' explosive 2016 attack, Gabriel took a step back along with the rest of the offense last season, but is still only 27. He's a big play waiting to happen, and a nice piece for a receiver corps that's being rebuilt from scratch. New coach Matt Nagy has experience scheming for similar talents.
Mar 13 - 4:22 PM

Free agent WR Taylor Gabriel tweeted his farewell to the Falcons.

The message confirms the Falcons will let the speedy receiver leave in free agency. Gabriel exploded onto the scene with seven touchdowns over his final eight games of 2016, but he found the end zone just once last season while catches 33 passes for 378 yards. Gabriel turned 27 in February.
Mar 1 - 12:59 PM

Taylor Gabriel caught 2-of-3 targets for four yards in the Falcons' Divisional Round loss to the Eagles.

A 2016 game-breaker, both Gabriel's usage and effectiveness took a step back under new OC Steve Sarkisian. Gabriel's yards per catch crashed from 16.5 to 11.5. Headed to free agency, the big-play specialist turns 27 in February.
Jan 13 - 8:35 PM

Taylor Gabriel (hamstring) was not listed on the final injury report for Saturday's Wild Card matchup with the Rams.

Gabriel was limited this week in practice, but it was never likely he would sit out a playoff game. Gabriel has not caught more than three passes since Week 6.
Jan 4 - 1:08 PM

Taylor Gabriel (hamstring) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

Gabriel popped up on the injury report Tuesday. It's not expected to hold him out of the Wild Card round. Gabriel has just a gadget role behind Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu.
