Bears agreed to terms with WR Taylor Gabriel, formerly of the Falcons, on a four-year, $26 million contract.
The deal includes $14 million guaranteed. Gabriel broke the news himself via friend and former NFL receiver Andrew Hawkins. A critical part of the Falcons' explosive 2016 attack, Gabriel took a step back along with the rest of the offense last season, but is still only 27. He's a big play waiting to happen, and a nice piece for a receiver corps that's being rebuilt from scratch. New coach Matt Nagy has experience scheming for similar talents. Mar 13 - 4:22 PM

Free agent WR Taylor Gabriel tweeted his farewell to the Falcons.

The message confirms the Falcons will let the speedy receiver leave in free agency. Gabriel exploded onto the scene with seven touchdowns over his final eight games of 2016, but he found the end zone just once last season while catches 33 passes for 378 yards. Gabriel turned 27 in February.

Taylor Gabriel caught 2-of-3 targets for four yards in the Falcons' Divisional Round loss to the Eagles.

A 2016 game-breaker, both Gabriel's usage and effectiveness took a step back under new OC Steve Sarkisian. Gabriel's yards per catch crashed from 16.5 to 11.5. Headed to free agency, the big-play specialist turns 27 in February.

Taylor Gabriel (hamstring) was not listed on the final injury report for Saturday's Wild Card matchup with the Rams.

Gabriel was limited this week in practice, but it was never likely he would sit out a playoff game. Gabriel has not caught more than three passes since Week 6.

Taylor Gabriel (hamstring) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

Gabriel popped up on the injury report Tuesday. It's not expected to hold him out of the Wild Card round. Gabriel has just a gadget role behind Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu.
Jan 3 - 4:30 PM

Taylor Gabriel failed to reel in his lone target Sunday in the Falcons' Week 17 win over the Panthers.

Gabriel tied for the team lead with six receiving touchdowns a year ago but only scored once in 2017. That touchdown came all the way back in Week 3. The 26-year-old gadget player has been held to 20 yards or fewer in seven straight games and won’t be a realistic fantasy option for next week’s playoff opener against the Rams.

Taylor Gabriel caught three passes for 58 yards in Week 10 against Dallas.

Gabriel has played two of his best games in consecutive weeks. He's still has a low-volume in Steve Sarkisian’s offense. Gabriel hasn’t had more than four catches since Week 3.

Taylor Gabriel caught 3-of-4 targets for 56 yards in the Falcons' Week 9 loss to the Panthers.

His long went for 40 yards. Gabriel isn't a fantasy factor when everyone is healthy.

Taylor Gabriel caught his lone target for a loss of three yards in the Falcons' Week 8 win over the Jets.

Gabriel lacks a significant role in Atlanta's offense whenever all of the Falcons' other weapons are healthy.

Taylor Gabriel caught two passes for 27 yards in Week 7 against the Patriots.

Gabriel had a goal-line carry on an end around, but couldn't score. He saw his role reduced with Mohamed Sanu back in the lineup. Gabriel can be dropped in redraft leagues.

Taylor Gabriel caught 4-of-8 targets for 39 yards in the Falcons' Week 6 loss to the Dolphins.

With Mohamed Sanu sidelined, Gabriel's eight targets were a season-high, but practice squad addition Marvin Hall stole his long touchdown. Despite the disappointing day, Gabriel will remain on both the season-long and DFS radar in Week 7 if Sanu remains out against the Patriots' Swiss-cheese defense.

Taylor Gabriel was held without a catch in Week 4.

It was a disappointing game from Gabriel after Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu both left with injuries. Gabriel has been highly inconsistent this year, getting held under 40 yards in three-of-four games. The Falcons are on a bye in Week 5.
Sun, Oct 1, 2017 04:55:00 PM

Taylor Gabriel caught 5-of-6 targets for 79 yards and one touchdown in the Falcons' Week 3 win over the Lions.

Gabriel had quiet Weeks 1 and 2 to open the season, but he did what he does best in this one; scoring a 40-yard touchdown on a WR screen. He flashed his big playmaking ability and speed, but Gabriel's big days are nearly impossible to predict. Gabriel is a WR5/6 next week against the Bills.
Sun, Sep 24, 2017 05:35:00 PM

Taylor Gabriel caught 2-of-3 targets for 14 yards in Week 2 against the Packers.

Gabriel remained a non-factor after he was held to three catches last week. He's taken a predictable step back with ex-OC Kyle Shanahan gone. Gabriel isn't on the re-draft radar.
Mon, Sep 18, 2017 12:49:00 AM

Taylor Gabriel caught 3-of-4 targets for 36 yards in the Falcons' Week 1 win over.

He finished fourth on the team in targets behind Mohamed Sanu (9), Tevin Coleman (6), and Julio Jones (5). Gabriel's 2016 production was largely a product of ex-OC Kyle Shanahan, and his weekly role under new OC Steve Sarkisian remains fluid. Offering obvious big-play potential but low in the pecking order for targets, Gabriel is only roster worthy in deep fantasy leagues.
