Taylor Gabriel caught 4-of-6 targets for 71 yards in the Falcons' Divisional Round win over the Seahawks.
The yards were Gabriel's most in two months. Gabriel is a threat to bust a huge play every time he touches the ball, but hasn't seen much volume since Mohamed Sanu's healthy return. Jan 14 - 8:52 PM

Date:

Taylor Gabriel (foot) returned to practice Wednesday.

The Falcons are on a bye week for the first round of the playoffs, but they anticipate being 100 percent healthy for the Divisional Round, getting Gabriel and Austin Hooper (knee) back. That's a scary thought for opponents.
Jan 4 - 11:17 AM

The Falcons expect Taylor Gabriel (foot) and TE Austin Hooper (knee) to practice this week.

Both players sat out Week 17, but are expected to be ready for the Divisional Round. At full strength, the Falcons have a daunting, dangerous skill corps.
Jan 2 - 2:52 PM

Falcons declared WR Taylor Gabriel, TE Austin Hooper, RB Terron Ward, CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson, S Dashon Goldson, LB Josh Keyes, and OG Wes Schweitzer inactive for Week 17 against the Saints.

There are no surprises here. Gabriel and Hooper should be back for the playoffs.
Jan 1 - 3:28 PM

Taylor Gabriel (foot) is out for Week 17 against the Saints.

So is Austin Hooper (knee). It's great news for Julio Jones, who should see a heavy workload in a plus home matchup against the Saints. Cut from the Browns at the end of training camp, Gabriel was a pleasant surprise for Atlanta. He'll finish the regular season with 35 catches for 579 yards and six touchdowns. He also rushed four times for 51 yards and one score.

Taylor Gabriel (foot) returned to a limited practice on Thursday.

He should be all set for Sunday's regular season finale against New Orleans. Gabriel is merely a WR3/4 with Julio Jones (toe) back in the lineup.

Taylor Gabriel (foot) did not practice Wednesday.

Gabriel came back to Earth last week, catching just three passes for 15 yards with Julio Jones back active. Gabriel is merely a boom-or-bust WR3/4.

Taylor Gabriel caught 3-of-4 targets for 15 yards in the Falcons' Week 16 win over the Panthers.

Gabriel was almost invisible with Julio Jones back on the field, but he came close to his seventh touchdown of the season when he was dragged down at the one in the second quarter. With Jones looking healthy, Gabriel will revert back to a big-play-or-bust option in deep leagues.

Taylor Gabriel (shoulder) was a full participant at Thursday's practice.

It's an upgrade from Wednesday when he was limited. Gabriel was never in danger of missing Saturday's game against the Panthers. With Julio Jones set to return from a toe injury, Gabriel will be downgraded to back-end WR3 status for championship week.

Taylor Gabriel (shoulder) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

Gabriel went out with a shoulder injury early in Sunday's win over the Niners but only missed a handful of snaps. He'll be good to go Saturday against the Panthers. Gabriel has scored seven touchdowns in his last seven games but might not see as many targets with Julio Jones (toe) expected to return this week.

Taylor Gabriel delivered three catches for 60 yards and a touchdown on six targets Sunday in the Falcons' Week 15 win over the 49ers.

Gabriel’s torrid hot streak continued with another touchdown on Sunday. He leads the team in that category, which would have seemed absolutely ludicrous a few months ago (it still is). Gabriel came down with a pass from Matt Ryan in the back of the end zone for a nine-yard score midway through the first quarter. At one point he went to the locker room to get his shoulder checked out, but only missed a handful of plays. Gabriel’s fantasy potential will obviously take a big hit whenever Julio Jones returns from injury (we’re guessing next week) but he still carries more upside than Mohamed Sanu and Aldrick Robinson. He’ll face the Panthers on Christmas Eve.

Taylor Gabriel left Sunday's Week 15 game against the 49ers with a shoulder injury and is questionable to return.

He went down late in the first quarter. Before exiting, Gabriel snagged both of his targets from Matt Ryan for 29 yards and a touchdown. He went to the locker room and could be headed for X-rays. Gabriel's absence could open up more targets for Aldrick Robinson and Mohamed Sanu, though the Falcons already have a sizable lead and will probably feature their running game.

Taylor Gabriel contributed three catches for 82 yards and a touchdown on six targets and rushed once for no gain Sunday in the Falcons' Week 14 win over the Rams.

The bulk of Gabriel’s yards came on a 64-yard touchdown early in the third quarter. Gabriel ventured into Rams’ territory virtually unnoticed and was all alone by the time he pulled in the catch and took it in for six points. The rest of Gabriel’s day was quiet, though he did match a season-high with six targets. Gabriel probably could have had a much bigger day if the game script had called for it, but Atlanta built a huge lead and didn’t have to air it out much in the second half. Gabriel's fantasy importance against the Niners in Week 15 will depend on the health of Julio Jones (turf toe) and Mohamed Sanu (groin), who both sat out Sunday’s game.

Taylor Gabriel caught 5-of-6 targets for 44 yards in the Falcons' Week 13 loss to the Chiefs.

The targets were Gabriel's most of the season, though he's now drawn at least five in four straight games. Gabriel was tackled at the Chiefs' one in the fourth quarter, coming inches within his sixth touchdown of the season. Gabriel is a huge-play threat, but it's not translating to WR3 value in fantasy leagues.

Matt Ryan heaped praise on Taylor Gabriel Tuesday during a radio interview with WCNN 680.

"He's been great for us this year. He's done everything we've asked from him," said Ryan, who went on to call Gabriel a "sparkplug." The former Browns castoff has blown up for 271 yards and four touchdowns over his last four games. With that said, Gabriel hasn't seen more than five targets in a game this season and has been relying heavily on big plays. With playoff spots on the line this week in fantasy, he'll merely be a WR4 against Kansas City.
