Buck Allen rushed seven times for 21 yards while adding seven catches for 44 yards and a touchdown on eight targets Sunday in the Ravens’ Week 9 loss to the Titans.
Allen was limited to just three first-half touches while ceding most of the ground work to Alex Collins. But Allen was much more involved with Baltimore trailing in the second half and even scored on a three-yard pass from Joe Flacco with just under nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Allen converted a fourth-and-two opportunity in the first half but was stonewalled on fourth-and-one later in the game. Despite the good game, Collins has emerged as the lead back in recent weeks, and Allen's passing-game role will likely disappear if Danny Woodhead is able to return following the bye. His fantasy value is in serious question moving forward. Nov 5 - 6:03 PM

Buck Allen rushed 17 times for 55 yards in the Ravens' Week 8 win over the Dolphins.

Allen "added" a two-yard reception, and committed a sloppy fumble on an exchange with Ryan Mallett. With the Ravens milking the clock with a huge lead, Allen received just two fewer touches than Alex Collins, but Collins out-gained Allen 143-57. Collins was running like a man ready to be the Ravens' feature back. Thankfully for Allen, Collins is a poor pass catcher, meaning Allen should remain featured on third downs. Nevertheless, Collins has officially passed Allen between the tackles.
Oct 26 - 11:59 PM

Buck Allen rushed six times for 20 yards and caught 8-of-11 targets for 29 yards in the Ravens' Week 7 loss to the Vikings.

No member of the Ravens' offense got anything going all game, but Allen's high-volume receiving usage continues to make him as a weekly PPR factor. Albeit without much upside, Allen will remain a viable PPR flex option against the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football in Week 8.
Oct 22 - 5:03 PM

Buck Allen rushed 10 times for 49 yards and caught 3-of-4 targets for 17 yards in the Ravens' Week 6 loss to the Bears.

Alex Collins out-carried Allen 15 to 10, but Collins remains a full-on non-factor in the passing game, where Allen is the Ravens' go-to back. Allen's inconsistent workloads have placed him more into flex territory, however, as the Ravens refuse to commit to him as a lead back. We thought he looked quick and explosive on his carries Sunday, more so than most weeks. Allen will be a better fantasy play than Collins in Week 7 at Minnesota.
Oct 15 - 4:54 PM

Buck Allen pounded the rock 21 times for 73 yards and a touchdown while adding four catches for 12 yards on five targets Sunday in the Ravens’ Week 5 win over the Raiders.

Terrance West went down with a calf injury on the Ravens’ opening drive, opening the door for Allen to see his biggest workload of the season. Alex Collins played a role with 12 carries but Allen remained the go-to back on passing downs and also got all of Baltimore’s goal-line work. Allen's one-yard score in the second quarter was his first rushing touchdown of the season (he had a receiving touchdown against the Browns in Week 2) and only the second of his career. He’ll be a must-start if West is unable to suit up next week against Chicago.
Oct 8 - 9:07 PM

Buck Allen totaled seven yards on two carries while securing six catches for 37 yards on six targets Sunday in the Ravens’ Week 4 loss to the Steelers.

Game script actually worked in Allen’s favor this week as the Ravens were forced to throw in the second half, though obviously it didn’t amount to much in the way of fantasy significance. Before, Allen was only competing with Terrance West for backfield touches but now ex-Seahawk Alex Collins has fought his way into the mix. That makes Allen hard to trust heading into next week’s game showdown with Oakland.
Oct 1 - 5:21 PM

Buck Allen rushed eight times for 15 yards and caught 5-of-6 targets for 13 yards in the Ravens' Week 3 loss to the Jaguars in London.

Despite reports he would get the start, Allen played behind Terrance West and had to share snaps with both West and Alex Collins early in the game. His first touch did not come until late in the second quarter, and most of his work came with the Ravens in comeback mode. Allen did have a couple chances near the goal line to save his fantasy day in the fourth quarter, but he was stuffed. Baltimore's offense looked about as bad as one can in the loss, and the three-way timeshare is a huge concern for Allen's fantasy value moving forward. He will be more of a FLEX option in standard leagues against the Steelers next week.
Sep 24 - 12:40 PM

The Ravens are expected to start Buck Allen at running back against the Jaguars in London.

It's great news for opportunistic fantasy owners who went with Allen over Kerwynn Williams on the post-Week 1 waiver wire. Whereas Williams is essentially useless in Arizona from a fantasy standpoint, Allen is now a locked-in RB2.
Sep 24 - 9:12 AM

Buck Allen played 42-of-68 snaps Week 2 against the Browns.

Terrance West was limited to just 15. Allen also out-touched West 19-to-10 and looked like the better player against Cleveland. Looking like the back of choice, Allen will be in the RB2 conversation against the Jaguars in London.
Sep 18 - 10:14 AM

Buck Allen rushed 14 times for 66 yards and caught 5-of-6 targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' Week 2 win over the Browns.

Terrance West managed 10 touches and was severely outplayed by Allen, whose passing-game ability adds more diversity to Baltimore's offense. Allen nearly had two touchdowns, but he was tackled inside the five-yard line at the end of a 37-yard burst. Allen's six targets ranked second on the team behind Ben Watson. Allen will remain a viable RB2/flex option in Week 2 at Jacksonville.
Sep 17 - 5:04 PM

Buck Allen played 33-of-66 snaps in the Ravens' Week 1 win over the Bengals.

Nominal starter Terrance West played just 27. Allen also saw two more carries than West in the blowout. Perhaps the nature of the scoreline had something to do with the workload split, but it seems clear Allen will have a big role with Danny Woodhead sidelined. Allen is one of the top pickups this week.
Sep 11 - 9:33 AM

Buck Allen broke off 71 yards on 21 carries Sunday in the Ravens’ Week 1 win over the Bengals.

He came up empty on his lone target. Allen subbed in after Danny Woodhead was carted off with a hamstring injury on the Ravens’ opening drive. Baltimore jumped out to a big lead thanks to a barrage of Andy Dalton turnovers and were able to burn clock by going to their ground game in the second half. Sixteen of Allen’s 21 carries came after halftime. Depending on Woodhead’s health, Allen could be worth a speculative add heading into next week’s home opener against the Browns.
Sep 10 - 5:13 PM

Buck Allen rushed 12 times for 25 yards in the Ravens' third preseason game, adding a three-yard reception.

Allen spent time with the first-team offense, though like everyone else, he didn't show anything. It was hard with Ryan Mallett leading the attack. Allen has gotten extensive run this summer, rushing 30 times for 86 yards (2.86 YPC). West has generated some camp buzz, but those numbers are not going to put pressure on Terrance West.
Aug 26 - 10:57 PM

The Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec believes Buck Allen "has been the Ravens’ most effective back."

Early in camp, Zrebiec reported Allen was showing well, and he has continued that into the preseason, gaining 61 yards on 18 carries and catching six passes for 27 yards for an offense which has struggled to get anything going. Allen even got run with the first-team in the second preseason game. He looks locked into a roster spot, and he could push Danny Woodhead and Terrance West for touches.
Aug 22 - 9:58 AM

The Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec wrote Ravens RB Buck Allen is "having a really nice camp."

On the roster bubble after spending the second half of last season as a healthy scratch, Allen needed to strong start to camp, and it sounds like he has met the challenge. With Kenneth Dixon (knee) out for the season, Allen could carve out a roster spot behind Danny Woodhead and Terrance West.
