Jamison Crowder (ankle) is out for Week 7 against the Cowboys.
He'll miss another game with his ankle injury. With Paul Richardson (knee, shoulder) also a long shot to play, look for Josh Doctson and Jordan Reed to see more involvement this week. Oct 19 - 1:50 PM

Date:

Jamison Crowder (ankle) won't resume practicing until Friday at the earliest.

In other words, he's almost certainly going to remain sidelined for Week 7. Maurice Harris started in Crowder's absence against the Panthers.

Jamison Crowder (ankle) is inactive for Week 6 against the Panthers.

Crowder is week to week. Maurice Harris is starting in his absence against the Panthers.
Oct 14 - 11:43 AM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Jamison Crowder (ankle) is not expected to play Week 6 against the Panthers.

It is not a surprise considering he sat out all week. With both Paul Richardson (shoulder, knee) and Josh Doctson (heel) questionable, Washington could be without their top three receivers on Sunday as well as Chris Thompson (rib, knee). That makes Maurice Harris at least interesting in DFS, and Vernon Davis could see more targets than usual as well.

Jamison Crowder (ankle) is questionable for Week 6 against the Panthers.

Crowder, Chris Thompson (rib), Adrian Peterson (shoulder, ankle, knee), Josh Doctson (heel), and WR Paul Richardson (shoulder/knee) are all officially questionable for Sunday. Both Crowder and Richardson were both sidelined Thursday, too, potentially paving the way for WR Maurice Harris to play another full set of reps. Harris would start if any of Washington's wideouts were deemed inactive.
Oct 12 - 2:25 PM

Jamison Crowder (ankle) remained sidelined on Thursday.

As did Paul Richardson (knee, shoulder). Both players are now looking on the wrong side of questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, though there is still the chance it's just extra maintenance after Monday night's loss. Richardson initially seemed more injured than Crowder.
Oct 11 - 1:25 PM

Jamison Crowder (ankle) didn't practice on Wednesday.

The Redskins opted for a walkthrough instead of practicing coming off their Monday night game in New Orleans. Crowder has flirted with PPR relevance in the past but not this season. The Duke-educated slot receiver has managed just 13 catches for 131 yards and a single touchdown through five games. Fantasy owners can do better.
Oct 10 - 5:29 PM

Jamison Crowder caught 4-of-8 targets for 55 yards in the Redskins' Week 5 loss to the Saints.

The 55 yards led the team and marked a new season-high for Crowder after he managed a 9-79-1 line Weeks 1-3 before the bye. The eight targets matched a team high. Crowder's best grab was an over-the-shoulder catch on fourth down, while he also made a good catch over the middle earlier in the game. Crowder remains a WR4/5 in PPR leagues ahead of Week 6 against Carolina.
Oct 9 - 12:13 AM

Jamison Crowder caught 4-of-4 targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in the Redskins' Week 3 win over the Packers.

Crowder doubled his Weeks 1 and 2 production while catching his first touchdown pass from Alex Smith. We thought Crowder would mesh well with Smith's conservative skill-set, but Smith has been more locked onto Jordan Reed and Chris Thompson. Crowder has yet to make a viable WR4 case. He does have a juicy for Week 5 when the Redskins come off their bye against the Saints.
Sep 23 - 6:23 PM

Jamison Crowder absorbed two-of-four targets for eight yards while adding a team-leading 29 rushing yards on two carries Sunday in the Redskins’ Week 2 loss to the Colts.

He got the ball on Washington’s first play from scrimmage, chewing up 25 yards on a reverse. Crowder didn’t see much work after that, though he was involved with a controversial play in the second quarter. Darius Leonard appeared to strip the ball from Crowder following a four-yard catch, though the play was later overturned after replay showed Crowder was down by contact. The contract-year receiver is off to an underwhelming start with just five catches for 40 yards through his first two contests. We’ll see what the former Duke Blue Devil can cook up next week against the Packers.
Sep 16 - 6:00 PM

Jamison Crowder managed three catches for 32 yards on four targets Sunday in Washington’s Week 1 victory over the Cardinals.

The Redskins had little reason to air it out while leading comfortably, which would account for Crowder’s abbreviated workload. Obviously Crowder’s season debut was short on fantasy pyrotechnics, but the contract-year slot receiver should have a chance to rebound next week in a favorable matchup against Indy’s Swiss-cheese secondary.
Sep 9 - 8:16 PM

Jamison Crowder did not play in the Redskins' third preseason game.

Crowder earned praise early in camp for his work with Alex Smith, but he suffered a groin injury which held him out of the first three preseason games. He did return to practice this week, suggesting he will be back for Week 1, but the missed time is still a concern. Crowder is shaping up as a borderline WR3 in PPR formats.

Redskins.com reports Alex Smith has looked "extremely comfortable" throwing to Jamison Crowder through the early days of camp.

Although Smith proved more willing to throw deep last season, short-to-intermediate targets have always been his favorite. That's where Crowder does his damage. The duo apparently displayed an excellent rapport throughout OTAs. Coming off a disappointing 2017 where he battled hamstring issues, Crowder is a prime bounce-back candidate in 2018.
Jul 31 - 3:04 PM

Jamison Crowder feels healthier this offseason after struggling with hamstring issues throughout 2017.

"I feel great now," said Crowder. "It was frustrating. When you go out there with a lingering injury, you’re already setting yourself behind." The contract-year wideout was a standout at OTAs, drawing praise from teammate Alex Smith, who complemented Crowder's body control and ability to read the defense. Chris Thompson also noted that Crowder has been keeping up with him in sprints after lagging behind in years past. The 25-year-old put an emphasis on strength during his offseason training, opting for more "dynamic lifts" including power and hang cleans. All signs point to a breakout year for the Redskins' slot receiver.

NBC Washington's Rich Tandler reports Jamison Crowder and Alex Smith displayed a very good rapport during Redskins OTAs.

Tandler adds that "Smith was very comfortable firing the ball in to Crowder during goal line work." Crowder was a hype sensation at this time last summer, but things got off to a real rocky start as he failed to top 50 yards in five of the first six games and also missed time with injury. Crowder went for 70-plus yards, including 123- and 141-yard efforts, Weeks 8-12 while nabbing all three of his touchdowns the final six weeks. Crowder's short-to-intermediate route tree meshes well with Smith's pass-game tendencies. We were maybe a year early on Crowder.
