Recent News reports Alex Smith has looked "extremely comfortable" throwing to Jamison Crowder through the early days of camp.
Although Smith proved more willing to throw deep last season, short-to-intermediate targets have always been his favorite. That's where Crowder does his damage. The duo apparently displayed an excellent rapport throughout OTAs. Coming off a disappointing 2017 where he battled hamstring issues, Crowder is a prime bounce-back candidate in 2018. Jamison Crowder feels healthier this offseason after struggling with hamstring issues throughout 2017.

"I feel great now," said Crowder. "It was frustrating. When you go out there with a lingering injury, you’re already setting yourself behind." The contract-year wideout was a standout at OTAs, drawing praise from teammate Alex Smith, who complemented Crowder's body control and ability to read the defense. Chris Thompson also noted that Crowder has been keeping up with him in sprints after lagging behind in years past. The 25-year-old put an emphasis on strength during his offseason training, opting for more "dynamic lifts" including power and hang cleans. All signs point to a breakout year for the Redskins' slot receiver.

NBC Washington's Rich Tandler reports Jamison Crowder and Alex Smith displayed a very good rapport during Redskins OTAs.

Tandler adds that "Smith was very comfortable firing the ball in to Crowder during goal line work." Crowder was a hype sensation at this time last summer, but things got off to a real rocky start as he failed to top 50 yards in five of the first six games and also missed time with injury. Crowder went for 70-plus yards, including 123- and 141-yard efforts, Weeks 8-12 while nabbing all three of his touchdowns the final six weeks. Crowder's short-to-intermediate route tree meshes well with Smith's pass-game tendencies. We were maybe a year early on Crowder.

CSN Mid-Atlantic's JP Finlay reports Jamison Crowder is open to a contract extension with the Redskins.

Crowder has one year left on his rookie deal at around the league minimum, so of course he'd be open to a new deal. He reportedly "likes it" playing in D.C. for coach Jay Gruden. Crowder had his best season in 2016 and took a step back this past year while playing through multiple injuries. Crowder really got off to a horrid start but was able to turn it on the second half of the year when Jordan Reed was out and Terrelle Pryor had been phased out of the offense.
Jan 10 - 10:24 AM

Jamison Crowder hauled in 3-of-7 targets for 25 yards in the Redskins' Week 17 loss to the Giants.

Aside from a four-game run in the middle of the season in which he caught 27 passes for 412 yards and a touchdown, this was a very disappointing campaign for Crowder, especially considering Jordan Reed and Terrelle Pryor combined for just 72 targets. Crowder finishes his season with 66 catches for 789 yards and three scores in 15 games. Entering a contract season, he will need to show more next year.

Jamison Crowder caught 4-of-4 targets for 47 yards and a touchdown in the Redskins' Week 16 win over the Broncos.

The touchdown was Crowder's third of the season. All three have come in the past five weeks. He bested Bradley Roby with a beautiful route. Crowder will offer upside as a WR3 for Week 17 against the Giants.

Jamison Crowder (hamstring) is officially active for Week 16 against the Broncos.

Set to square off with Chris Harris Jr., Crowder will be a middling WR3 for fantasy finals week.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Jamison Crowder (hamstring, questionable) is expected to play Week 16 against the Broncos.

There never seemed to be much doubt about Crowder playing, but it is always good to get confirmation. In a tough matchup against Chris Harris and company, Crowder should be downgraded to a WR3/FLEX play.

Jamison Crowder (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 16 against the Broncos.

There have been no indications from beat writers that Crowder will for sure sit out, but he has battled ongoing hamstring problems all season. Crowder also has a very tough draw against Broncos shutdown CB Chris Harris this week.

Jamison Crowder delivered five catches for 55 yards and a touchdown on seven targets Sunday in the Redskins’ Week 15 win over the Cardinals.

Crowder pulled in his second touchdown of the year on Washington’s opening possession, securing a five-yard pass from Kirk Cousins off play-action. He was relatively quiet after that, though he did show well in the second half with three catches for 45 yards including a 24-yard grab to set up first-and-goal in the third quarter. Crowder has come alive in the second half following a sluggish start to the year but gets a tough assignment next week against Broncos slot corner Chris Harris.

Jamison Crowder caught 3-of-6 targets for 34 yards in the Redskins' Week 14 loss to the Chargers.

The entire Redskins offense struggled to get much of anything going and Crowder was no exception. Crowder's highlight was an 18-yard catch. He will have better games in the future and is a WR2 against the Cardinals in Week 15 against the Cardinals.

Jamison Crowder caught 5-of-7 targets for 67 yards in the Redskins' Week 13 loss, also losing a fumble.

It's an inoffensive statline, but Crowder had a nightmare night, particularly a nightmare first quarter. He let a Kirk Cousins pass clang off his hands for a red zone interception on Washington's second series, and then lost a fumble when Dallas punted four plays later. He dropped another pass later in the game. Either way, Crowder has now gone at least 4/67 in five straight games. He will remain in the WR2 mix against the Chargers in Week 14.

Jamison Crowder pulled in seven-of-10 targets for 141 yards and a touchdown Thursday in the Redskins’ Week 12 win over the Giants.

Crowder was an absolute powerhouse on Thursday and a badly needed source of offense for a team running on fumes. Both teams looked lethargic playing on a short week but Crowder was sharp as ever, putting the Redskins on his back with four catches for 90 yards after halftime. Crowder’s 15-yard touchdown in the third quarter was his first since Week 13 of last season while his 141 yards represented a new career-high. He hurt his knee in the fourth quarter but only missed a few snaps. Now firmly entrenched as Kirk Cousins’ go-to target, Crowder will be in the WR2 mix next Thursday night at Dallas.

Jamison Crowder caught 7-of-8 targets for 72 yards in the Redskins' Week 11 loss to the Saints.

Finally healthy, Crowder has now cleared 70 yards in three straight games, and is being treated as the Redskins' No. 1 receiver by Kirk Cousins. Crowder is more floor than upside, but he'll have a great shot at hitting both on Thanksgiving night against the Giants' pathetic defense.

Jamison Crowder caught 4-of-11 targets for 76 yards with five yards rushing on one carry in Sunday's Week 10 loss to the Vikings.

After dealing with a hamstring injury that cause him to miss Week 9, Crowder tied for the team lead in targets. He a number of near catches broken up by defenders, including two end zone targets, but salvaged his day with a 36-yard catch and run in the fourth quarter. Over his past two games, Crowder now 24 targets with double-digit looks in each game after failing to see more than seven targets in any of his first six games of the season. Despite his slow start and overall numbers, Crowder is creeping back up as a WR3/flex option in PPR leagues.
