Seahawks coach Pete Carroll believes Tyler Lockett (leg) could be "full speed" for training camp.
Speaking Tuesday at minicamp, Carroll said Lockett had made a "big jump" in the past week. Lockett's preseason status is still questionable, but it's looking likely he'll be ready to rock for Week 1. Jun 13 - 7:53 PM

Date:

Tyler Lockett (leg) was cleared for individual drills at OTAs.

It’s a good sign for his training camp status. Lockett is ahead of schedule, but there's still some hurdles to clear. It's possible he'll be held out of the preseason. The Seahawks expect to have Lockett for Week 1.
Jun 10 - 6:07 PM

Tyler Lockett (broken leg) was photographed wearing a helmet during Wednesday's OTA practice.

Reporters have not been allowed into a practice yet during OTAs, but the Seahawks release photos after each session. While it is impossible to know how much Lockett did, players usually do not don helmets unless they are participating in some fashion. Lockett broke both his fibula and tibia on Christmas Eve.

Tyler Lockett (broken leg) believes he'll be ready for training camp.

It's an extremely aggressive timeline for Lockett's devastating Christmas Eve injury. Coach Pete Carroll has previously identified Week 1 as the goal. Even if Lockett is ready for camp, he could be held out of the preseason.
Apr 20 - 7:34 PM

ESPN's Sheil Kapadia told Next Level Fantasy's Mike Clay Tyler Lockett (broken leg) is ahead of schedule and should be ready for Week 1.

Coach Pete Carroll said the same in January, but it is good to hear it from someone other than the notoriously optimistic coach. While Paul Richardson made a splash in the playoffs, Lockett has proven he can be a dangerous weapon when given the chance. Unfortunately, those chances have not come as consistently as his fantasy owners would like through two seasons.
Mar 18 - 10:55 AM

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Tyler Lockett (fibula/tibia) should be ready for Week 1 of the 2017 season.

Lockett's broken fibula and tibia ended his season and may have played role in Seattle's inability to hang offensively with Atlanta in Saturday's Divisional Round loss. For the second straight year, Lockett's offensive role began slowly before taking off down the stretch, prior to his injury. Lockett remains an intriguing Dynasty stash, although Paul Richardson made a big case for extended 2017 snaps. The Seahawks should consider moving on from Jermaine Kearse.
Jan 16 - 3:36 PM

Coach Pete Carroll confirmed Tyler Lockett (leg) will miss the remainder of the season.

Lockett suffered a broken fibula and tibia Saturday against the Cardinals. There was a 4-6 week timeline floating around out there, so this clears that up. Paul Richardson and J.D. McKissic will fill in as returners, while Jermaine Kearse and Richardson should see the extra looks out wide at receiver. Lockett avoided ligament damage and should be ready in time for training camp.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Tyler Lockett broke both his fibula and tibia Week 16 against the Cardinals.

Lockett underwent surgery Saturday night. Carroll said Lockett should be "up and moving and working and all that" in 4-6 weeks, but that timetable likely is for Lockett to start the rehab process. It is very unlikely he returns this season even if the Seahawks make a deep playoff run. Still, it sounds like Lockett could have something of a normal offseason.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed Saturday night that Tayler Lockett (leg/ankle) needs surgery and is done for the season.

It's a huge hit to Seattle's title hopes because Lockett was coming on strong after battling a PCL injury early in the season. The Seahawks' passing game now lacks a deep element unless they can get more out of former second-round pick Paul Richardson. Doug Baldwin will be a target monster the rest of the way.

Tyler Lockett exited Sunday's Week 16 game against the Cardinals with a severe leg/ankle injury.

He'll be done for the year with what was clearly a fractured leg. The play occurred at the half-yard line on a fantastic play by Lockett, who was immediately fitted for an air cast and carted off the field. The Seahawks will have to turn back to Jermaine Kearse in two-receiver sets opposite Doug Baldwin. Lockett almost certainly won't be available for the NFL playoffs.

Tyler Lockett caught 7-of-8 targets for 130 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' Week 15 win over the Rams.

Starting over Jermaine Kearse in two-receiver sets, Lockett popped off for a career-high yardage total. Per Pro Football Focus' Nathan Jahnke, he ended up out-snapping Kearse just 38-37, but the implication couldn't have been clearer. The Seahawks wanted to get Lockett more involved, and he responded with an awesome game. Lockett's score was a 57-yarder where he slipped the Rams' entire secondary. Lockett has a tough Week 16 matchup in the Cardinals, but is very much back on the WR4 radar.

Tyler Lockett caught 4-of-6 targets for 41 yards and rushed twice for 15 yards Week 14 against the Packers.

Lockett saw his customary six targets in this game, just like he has in four of his last five contests, but he was not able to create any big plays with Russell Wilson struggling. It might be a different case Thursday night against the Rams, but Lockett is nothing more than an upside WR4 who has hit his upside just once this season.
Sun, Dec 11, 2016 08:28:00 PM

Tyler Lockett caught 5-of-6 passes for 63 yards and scored on a 75-yard run in Week 13 against the Panthers.

It's a nice rebound after Lockett was held without a catch on six targets last week. Lockett had multiple chunk plays, ripping off a 40-yard screen in addition to his 75-yard run. He was still the No. 4 option behind Jimmy Graham, Doug Baldwin, and Jermaine Kearse. Lockett is an upside WR4 against the Packers in Week 14.

Tyler Lockett did not catch any of his six targets Week 12 against the Bucs.

Lockett's only touch came on a carry early in the game, but it was not really his fault. Russell Wilson just missed him downfield on several throws including what would have been an elusive third-down conversion. Lockett was also the target on Wilson's game-ending interception. Wilson should play better moving forward, but Lockett is not getting consistent enough targets to trust in standard-sized leagues.
Sun, Nov 27, 2016 07:37:00 PM

Tyler Lockett caught 2-of-3 targets for 39 yards Week 11 against the Eagles.

Lockett looked to be on his way to a decent game when he hooked up with Russell Wilson for a 30-yard gain in the second quarter, a pass which he almost turned into a touchdown with a dive toward the pylon. He only saw two more targets the rest of the way, however, and finished with fewer than 40 yards for the eighth time this season. Lockett has a ton of upside in this offense, but he has yet to show it consistently. He is nothing more than a bench stash in deep leagues.
