DeAndre Carter came down with four catches for 33 yards on five targets Sunday in the Texans’ Week 17 victory over Jacksonville.
The undrafted Sacramento State alum has been filling in for injured slot receiver Keke Coutee (hamstring). Despite his increased workload down the stretch, Carter has yet to make his presence felt in the fantasy realm. He'll finish the regular season with a modest 22-216-0 line over 14 appearances between Philadelphia and Houston. Sun, Dec 30, 2018 05:34:00 PM

DeAndre Carter hauled in 6-of-7 targets for 61 yards in the Texans' Week 16 loss to the Eagles.

Demaryius Thomas left this game with what looked like a serious injury, leaving Carter as the No. 2 option behind DeAndre Hopkins. That is unlikely to remain the case with Keke Coutee seemingly close to a return, but his health cannot be taken for granted. Carter could have some deep PPR appeal next week.

DeAndre Carter left Sunday's Week 14 game against the Colts with a concussion and will not return.

Carter was popped in the helmet by Malik Hooker late in the first quarter. Hooker was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play, setting Houston up with a first-and-goal at the Colts' three-yard-line. Carter caught one pass for no gain prior to exiting. Tyrann Mathieu will handle return duties with Carter done for the afternoon.

Coach Bill O'Brien said WR DeAndre Carter is a "prime candidate" to return punts.

The Texans waived third-rounder Tyler Ervin to make room for Carter, who was waived by the Eagles just last week. Carter has returned 10 punts for an average of 10.3 yards this season, which is slightly better than Ervin's 8.3 yard average.

Eagles waived WR DeAndre Carter.

This is a sign that Darren Sproles could be set to return for the Eagles' Week 10 game against the Cowboys. Carter, who is primarily a special teamer, has 10 punt returns and 10 kick returns on the season. Sproles, who has plenty of returning experience, has not played since his Week 1 hamstring injury.

Eagles signed WR DeAndre Carter.

Rodney McLeod was placed on injured reserve as a corresponding move. Carter played 53 snaps in Philadelphia's opener but was waived to make room for RB Josh Adams in lieu of Jay Ajayi's (back) and Corey Clement's (quad) injuries prior to Week 3. He's expected to return punts as early as this Sunday.

49ers signed WR DeAndre Carter to a two-year contract.

Carter has bounced around the league since going undrafted out of Sacramento State in 2015, spending time with the Ravens, Raiders and most recently the Patriots. The 23-year-old has yet to play an NFL snap.

Ravens waived or released WR DeAndre Carter, WR Aldrick Robinson, LS Patrick Scales, P Justin Manton, CB Tramain Jacobs, OG Leon Brown, OT Marcel Jones, and WR Trent Steelman.

Carter is the biggest name on the list. The UDFA out of Sacramento State was turning heads in the spring and caught five passes for 67 yards in the preseason. He's small (5'9/185), but put up some explosive numbers at his Pro Day.

Steve Smith compared Ravens UDFA WR DeAndre Carter to Randall Cobb.

Carter, coming out of FCS Sacramento State, goes 5'9/185 with 4.44 speed and a 38 1/2-inch vertical. Cobb's Combine numbers were 5'10/191, 4.46 and 33 1/2-inch vertical. Carter has been turning heads during OTAs and has a reasonable shot to stick as a fifth receiver and return man. The Ravens have very little depth behind Smith and Breshad Perriman.

Ravens signed Sacramento State WR DeAndre Carter.

Carter (5'9/185) was the FCS Wide Receiver of the Year in 2014, catching 99 passes for 1,321 yards and 17 TDs, also returning a punt 61 yards for a score. He drew praise from Mike Martz at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl all-star game in January. Carter shined at the Sac State Pro Day, running 4.44 with a 10-foot-6 broad jump and 38 1/2-inch vertical. Rotoviz analytics guru Jon Moore has set Carter's measurables-production combo somewhere between Donnie Avery and Emmanuel Sanders. Carter's agent did a good job of placing him on a Ravens roster with little wide receiver clarity beyond Steve Smith Sr. and Breshad Perriman.
